We perform a multichannel analysis in context of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for supersymmetric (SUSY) theories with high-scale non-universal gaugino masses arising from different non-singlet representations of SU(5) and SO(10) gauge groups in a SUSY-GUT scenario and non-universal scalar masses in form of squark-slepton non-universality, third family scalar non-universality and that arising due to SO(10) $D$-terms. We present the numerical predictions over a wide region of parameter space using event generator {\tt Pythia}. Certain broad features emerge from the study which may be useful to identify these non-universal schemes and distinguish them from the minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) framework.
We report a next-to-leading order (NLO) calculation of the production of gaugino-like charginos ($\chargino$) and neutralinos ($\neutralino$) in association with gluinos ($\gluino$) at hadron colliders, including the strong corrections from colored particles and sparticles. We predict inclusive cross sections at the Fermilab Tevatron and CERN LHC. The NLO cross sections are more stable against variations in the hard-scattering scale parameter and are greater than the LO values.
We investigate the parameter space of the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) where the gluino and squark masses are much above 1 TeV but the remaining part of the sparticle spectrum is accessible to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. After pointing out that such a scenario may constitute an important benchmark of gaugino/scalar non-universality, we find that hadronically quiet trileptons are rather useful signals for it. Regions of the parameter space, where the signal is likely to be appreciable, are identified through a detailed scan. The advantage of hadronically quiet trileptons …
We study the different linear collider modes with regard to the determination of the gaugino mass parameter M_1. In a specific mSUGRA inspired scenario we compare four processes with polarized beams: (a) e+ e- --> neutralino_1 neutralino_2 --> neutralino_1 neutralino_1 e+ e-, (b) e- gamma --> neutralino_1 selectron_{L/R} --> neutralino_1 neutralino_1 e-, (c) gamma gamma --> chargino_1^+ chargino_1^- --> neutralino_1 neutralino_1 e+ e- neutrino_e anti-neutrino_e, (d) e- e- --> selectron_{L/R} selectron_{L/R} --> neutralino_1 neutralino_1 e- e-.
In split supersymmetry, gauginos and Higgsinos are the only supersymmetric particles which are possibly accessible at foreseeable colliders. While the direct experimental searches, such as LEP and Tevatron experiments, gave robust lower bounds on the masses of these particles, the cosmic dark matter can give some upper bounds and thus have important implications for the searches at future colliders. In this work we scrutinize such dark matter constraints and show the allowed mass range for charginos and neutralinos (the mass eigenstates of gauginos and Higgsinos). We find that the lightest cha…
We derive the non-universal gaugino mass ratios in a supergravity (SUGRA) framework where the Higgs superfields belong to the non-singlet representations {\bf 54} and {\bf 770} in a SO(10) Grand Unified Theory (GUT). We evaluate the ratios for the phenomenologically viable intermediate breaking chain $SU(4)_C \times SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R (G_{422})$. After a full calculation of the gaugino mass ratios, noting some errors in the earlier calculation for {\bf 54}, we obtain, using the renormalisation group equations (RGE), interesting low scale phenomenology of such breaking patterns. Here, we as…
We discuss the signals at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) for scenarios with non-universal gaugino masses in supersymmetric (SUSY) theories. We perform a multichannel analysis, and consider the ratios of event rates in different channels such as $jets + {E}_T/ $, $same$ - and $opposite$-$sign dileptons$ $+jets+ {E}_T/ $, as well as $single-lepton$ and $trilepton$ final states together with $jets + {E}_T/ $ . Low-energy SUSY spectra corresponding to high-scale gaugino non-universality arising from different breaking schemes of SU(5) as well as SO(10) Grand Unified (GUT) SUSY models are consider…
We analyze the associated production at future high--energy $e^+e^-$ colliders, of first generation sleptons with neutralinos and charginos in the modes $e^+ e^-$ and $e γ$, in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model. We show that the production rates, in particular for associated production of right--handed selectrons and the lightest neutralino which in general is the first accessible kinematically, can be much larger than the corresponding ones for second and third generation scalar leptons and for scalar quarks. With the high--luminosities expected at th…
Once superpartners are discovered at colliders, the next challenge will be to determine the parameters of the supersymmetric Lagrangian. We illustrate how the relative phases of the gluino, SU(2), and U(1) gauginos and the Higgsino mass parameter mu can be measured at a hadron collider without ad hoc assumptions about the underlying physics, focusing on Fermilab. We also discuss how the gluino and LSP masses can be measured.
We compare the prospects for observing theories with Majorana or Dirac gauginos at a future 100 TeV proton-proton collider. Calculating the expected discovery and exclusion regions, we find that for heavy gluino masses the squark discovery reach is significantly reduced in Dirac gluino models relative to the Majorana case. However, if the squark and gluino masses are close the reach is similar in both scenarios. We also consider the electroweak fine tuning of theories observable at such a collider, and the impact of existing constraints from flavour and CP violating observables. Models with Ma…
We present an exploratory study of gaugino-pair production in polarized and unpolarized hadron collisions, focusing on the correlation of beam polarization and gaugino/Higgsino mixing in the general Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Helicity-dependent cross sections induced by neutral and charged electroweak currents and squark exchanges are computed analytically in terms of generalized charges, defined similarly for chargino-pair, neutralino-chargino associated, and neutralino-pair production. Our results confirm and extend those obtained previously for negligible Yukawa couplings and no…
We calculate direct gaugino pair production at hadron colliders at next-to-leading order of perturbative QCD, resumming simultaneously large logarithms in the small transverse-momentum and threshold regions to next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy. Numerical predictions are presented for transverse momentum and invariant mass spectra as well as for total cross sections and compared to results obtained at fixed order and with pure transverse-momentum and threshold resummation. We find that our new results are in general in good agreement with the previous ones, but often even more precise.
We present complete results of a next-to-leading order calculation of the production of gaugino-like charginos ($\chargino$) and neutralinos ($\neutralino$) in association with gluinos ($\gluino$) at hadron colliders, including the strong corrections from the exchange of colored particles and sparticles. Adopting a variety of models for the sparticle mass spectrum, including typical supergravity (SUGRA) models and a light gluino model, we provide predictions for total and differential cross sections at the energies of the Fermilab Tevatron and CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
In the context of the Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model, we analyze the production at future high-energy $e^+e^-$ colliders of second and third generation scalar leptons as well as scalar quarks in association with neutralinos and charginos, $e^+e^-\to f\tilde{f}χ$. In the case of third generation squarks, we also discuss the associated production with gluinos. We show that the cross sections for some of these three-body final state processes could be significant enough to allow for the detection of scalar fermions with masses above the kinematical two--body threshold, $\s…
We present a first precision analysis of the transverse-momentum spectrum of gaugino pairs produced at the Tevatron and the LHC with center-of-mass energies of 1.96 and 10 or 14 TeV, respectively. Our calculation is based on a universal resummation formalism at next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy, which is consistently matched to the perturbative prediction at ${\cal O}(α_s)$. Numerical results are given for the "gold-plated" associated production of neutralinos and charginos decaying into three charged leptons with missing transverse energy as well as for the pair production of neutralinos a…
We review the phenomenology of SUSY dark matter in various versions of MSSM, with universal and nonuniversal gaugino masses at the GUT scale. We start with the universal case (CMSSM), where the cosmologically compatible dark matter relic density is achieved only over some narrow regions of parameter space, involving some fine-tuning. Moreover, most of these regions are seriously challenged by the constraints from collider and direct dark matter detection experiments. Then we consider some simple and predictive nonuniversal gaugino mass models, based on SU(5) GUT. Several of these models offer …
Results are presented of a next-to-leading order calculation in perturbative QCD of the production of charginos and neutralinos in association with gluinos at hadron colliders. Predictions for total and differential cross sections are shown at the energies of the Fermilab Tevatron and CERN Large Hadron Collider for a typical supergravity model of the sparticle mass spectrum and for a light gluino model.
Results are presented of a next-to-leading order calculation in perturbative QCD of the production of charginos and neutralinos in association with gluinos at hadron colliders. Predictions for cross sections are shown at the energies of the Fermilab Tevatron and CERN Large Hadron Collider for a typical supergravity (SUGRA) model of the sparticle mass spectrum and for a light gluino model.
In gravity-mediated SUSY breaking models with non-universal gaugino masses, lowering the SU(3) gaugino mass |M_3| leads to a reduction in the squark and gluino masses. Lower third generation squark masses, in turn, diminish the effect of a large top quark Yukawa coupling in the running of the higgs mass parameter m_{H_u}^2, leading to a reduction in the magnitude of the superpotential mu parameter (relative to M_1 and M_2). A low | mu | parameter gives rise to mixed higgsino dark matter (MHDM), which can efficiently annihilate in the early universe to give a dark matter relic density in accord…
We analyse the prospect of extending the reach for squarks and gauginos via associated production at a $\sqrt{s} = 100$ TeV proton-proton collider, given 3 ab$^{-1}$ integrated luminosity. Depending on the gluino mass, the discovery reach for squarks in associated production with a gluino can be up to 37 TeV for compressed spectra (small gluino-LSP mass splitting), and up to 32 TeV for non-compressed spectra. The discovery reach for Winos can be up to between 3.5 and 6 TeV depending on squark masses and Wino decay kinematics. Binos of up to 1.7 TeV could similarly be discovered. Squark-gaugino…
Discovery of the Higgs boson and lack of discovery of superpartners in the first run at LHC are both predictions of split supersymmetry with thermal dark matter. We discuss what it would take to find gluinos at hadron supercolliders, including the LHC at 14 TeV center of mass energy, and future pp colliders at 100 TeV and 200 TeV. We generalize the discussion by re-expressing the search capacity in terms of gluino to lightest superpartner mass ratio, and apply results to other scenarios, such as gauge mediation and mirage mediation.
We present a complete analysis of threshold resummation effects on direct light and heavy gaugino pair production at the Tevatron and the LHC. Based on a new perturbative calculation at next-to-leading order of SUSY-QCD, which includes also squark mixing effects, we resum soft gluon radiation in the threshold region at leading and next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy, retaining at the same time the full SUSY-QCD corrections in the finite coefficient function. This allows us to correctly match the resummed to the perturbative cross section. Universal subleading logarithms are resummed in full m…
Grand unified theories (GUTs) can lead to non-universal gaugino masses at the unification scale. We study the implications of such non-universal gaugino masses for the composition of the lightest neutralino in supersymmetric (SUSY) theories based on SU(5) gauge group. We also consider the phenomenological implications of non-universal gaugino masses for the phenomenology of Higgs bosons in the context of Large Hadron Collider.
In split supersymmetry the gauginos and higgsinos are the only supersymmetric particles possibly accessible at foreseeable colliders like the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the International Linear Collider (ILC). In order to account for the cosmic dark matter measured by WMAP, these gauginos and higgsinos are stringently constrained and could be explored at the colliders through their direct productions and/or virtual effects in some processes. The clean environment and high luminosity of the ILC render the virtual effects of percent level meaningful in unraveling the new physics effect…
I explore the phenomenology of Supersymmetry models in which the gauginos are much heavier then that scalar particles of the MSSM. In these models, the gauginos are inaccessible to colliders while the scalar spectrum is compressed. I give several examples of models which exhibit this phenomenology built in the class of General Gauge Mediated Models. I explore possible LSP and NLSP candidates in these scenarios including Higgsino, stau, and sneutrino candidates. Collider signatures for these models include multi-particle decay chains, many taus in the final state, and possible displaced vertice…
Measurements of the total hadronic cross section in e+e- annihilation are shown to be capable of severely limiting the possibility that gauginos have negligible tree level masses. A combined analysis of 1997 and earlier LEP data, considering simultaneously conventional SUSY signatures and purely hadronic final states, should achieve a 95% cl sensitivity to the case that the SU(2) and U(1) gauginos are massless. If integrated luminosity targets are achieved, it should also be possible to exclude the case that the wino or wino and gluino are light while the bino is heavy, except possibly for a s…
We perform a comprehensive study of $SU(5)$, $SO(10)$ and $E(6)$ supersymmetric GUT models where the gaugino masses are generated through the F-term breaking vacuum expectation values of the non-singlet scalar fields. In these models the gauginos are non-universal at the GUT scale unlike in the mSUGRA scenario. We discuss the properties of the LSP which is stable and a viable candidate for cold dark matter. We look for the GUT scale parameter space that leads to the the lightest SM like Higgs mass in the range of 122-127 GeV compatible with the observations at ATLAS and CMS, the relic density …
Gaugino mediation is very attractive since it is free from the serious flavor problem in the supersymmetric standard model. We show that the observed Higgs boson mass at around 125 GeV and the anomaly of the muon g-2 can be easily explained in gaugino mediation models. It should be noted that no dangerous CP violating phases are generated in our framework. Furthermore, there are large parameter regions which can be tested not only at the planned International Linear Collider but also at the coming 13-14 TeV Large Hadron Collider.
Supersymmetry implies that the trilinear couplings between gauge bosons and gauginos are equal to all orders in perturbation theory. However if SUSY is broken and some of the superpartners have large SUSY breaking masses then they can induce non-decoupling deviations in this relation through radiative corrections. In this article we show that the deviation in the ratio of triple gauge to gaugino couplings from unity can be around 2.3% (3.3%) in heavy QCD models (2-1 models). Precision measurements of triple gaugino couplings at furture high energy colliders can therefore probe such violations …
We predict the exact gaugino mass relation near the electroweak scale at one loop for gravity mediated supersymmetry breaking in F-theory SU(5) and SO(10) models with U(1)_Y and U(1)_{B-L} fluxes, respectively. The gaugino mass relation introduced here differs from the typical gaugino mass relations studied thus far, and in general, should be preserved quite well at low energy. Therefore, these F-Theory models can be tested at the Large Hadron Collider and future International Linear Collider. We present two typical scenarios that satisfy all the latest experimental constraints and are consist…
In this paper we discuss search strategies at the LHC for light electroweak gauginos which are mostly Wino-like, Higgsino-like or an admixture. These states are typically degenerate with decay products that are less energetic and hence difficult to detect. In addition, their production cross-sections at a hadron collider are suppressed compared to colored states such as the gluinos. In order to detect these states one needs to trigger on initial or final state radiation. Many previous analyses have focussed on mono-jet and mono-photon triggers. In the paper we argue and show that these trigger…
Martin has proposed a scenario dubbed ``compressed supersymmetry'' (SUSY) where the MSSM is the effective field theory between energy scales M_{\rm weak} and M_{\rm GUT}, but with the GUT scale SU(3) gaugino mass M_3<< M_1 or M_2. As a result, squark and gluino masses are suppressed relative to slepton, chargino and neutralino masses, leading to a compressed sparticle mass spectrum, and where the dark matter relic density in the early universe may be dominantly governed by neutralino annihilation into ttbar pairs via exchange of a light top squark. We explore the dark matter and collider signa…
I consider models with non-universal gaugino masses at the gauge coupling unification scale, taking into account the Higgs boson discovery. Viable regions of parameter space are mapped and studied in the case of non-universality following from an F-term in a linear combination of singlet and adjoint representations of SU(5). I consider, in particular, "semi-natural" models that have small μ, with gaugino masses dominating the supersymmetry breaking terms at high energies. Higgsino-like particles are then much lighter than all other superpartners, and the prospects for discovery at the Large Ha…
We discuss prospects of studying supersymmetric model at future $pp$ circular collider (FCC) with its centre-of-mass energy of $\sim 100\ {\rm TeV}$. We pay particular attention to the model in which Wino is lighter than other supersymmetric particles and all the gauginos are within the kinematical reach of the FCC, which is the case in a large class of so-called pure gravity mediation model based on anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking. In such a class of model, charged Wino becomes long-lived with its decay length of $\sim 6\ {\rm cm}$, and the charged Wino tracks may be identified in par…
We compute the superpartner masses in a class of models with gaugino mediation (or no-scale) boundary conditions at a scale between the GUT and Planck scales. These models are compelling because they are simple, solve the supersymmetric flavor and CP problems, satisfy all constraints from colliders and cosmology, and predict the superpartner masses in terms of very few parameters. Our analysis includes the renormalization group evolution of the soft-breaking terms above the GUT scale. We show that the running above the GUT scale is largely model independent and find that a phenomenologically v…
A simple algebraic algorithm is described to recover the (complex valued) gaugino/Higgsino basic parameters $μ= |μ| e^{i ϕ_μ}$, $M_1 = |M_1| e^{i ϕ_{M_1}}$, $M_2 = |M_2|$, directly in terms of (a minimal set of) neutralino and chargino masses, accurately measurable at future linear collider energies. An ambiguity in the $M_1$ reconstruction can be resolved by measuring the corresponding $e^+e^- \to χ^0_1 χ^0_2$ cross section. This approach should simplify the determination of allowed ranges of the gaugino parameters, in particular if only a partial set of gaugino masses were measured.
We examine the stau-neutralino coannihilation (CA) mechanism of the early universe. We use the minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) model and show that from measurements at the Large Hadron Collider one can predict the dark matter relic density with an uncertainty of 6% with 30 fb-1 of data, which is comparable to the direct measurement by Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe. This is done by measuring four mSUGRA parameters m0, m1/2, A0 and tan(beta) without requiring direct measurements of the top squark and bottom squark masses. We also provide precision measurements of the gaugino, squark, and li…
In supersymmetric models with gaugino mediated SUSY breaking (inoMSB), it is assumed that SUSY breaking on a hidden brane is communicated to the visible brane via gauge superfields which propagate in the bulk. This leads to GUT models where the common gaugino mass $m_{1/2}$ is the only soft SUSY breaking term to receive contributions at tree level. To obtain a viable phenomenology, it is assumed that the gaugino mass is induced at some scale $M_c$ beyond the GUT scale, and that additional renormalization group running takes place between $M_c$ and $M_{GUT}$ as in a SUSY GUT. We assume an SU(5)…
The determination of the full SUSY QCD corrections to the production of squarks, gluinos and gauginos at hadron colliders is reviewed. The NLO corrections stabilize the theoretical predictions of the various production cross sections significantly and lead to sizeable enhancements of the most relevant cross sections. We discuss the phenomenological consequences of the results on present and future experimental analyses.
Relations between the gaugino masses have been shown to alleviate the degree of fine-tuning in the MSSM. In this paper we consider specific models of supersymmetry breaking with gravity mediation and demonstrate that within both GUT and string constructions it is possible to generate these relations in a natural way. We have numerically studied the degree of fine-tuning in these models, including one-loop corrections, and have found regions of parameter space that can satisfy all known collider constraints with fine-tunings less than 20%. We discuss some of the phenomenological features of the…
Cascade decays of Supersymmetric (SUSY) particles are likely to be prolific sources of Higgs bosons at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In this work, we explore, with the help of detailed simulation, the role of non-universal gaugino masses in the production of the Higgs bosons under SUSY cascades. The analysis is carried out by choosing an appropriate set of benchmark points with non-universal gaugino masses in the relevant SUSY parameter space and then contrasting the resulting observations with the corresponding cases having universal relationship among the same. It is shown that even of da…
We discuss the gluino mass in the CMSSM and Nonuniversal Gaugino Mass Models (NUGM) frameworks in light of the results from the current LHC and Dark Matter experiments. We probe the gluino mass scales by considering its decay modes into stop and top quarks, $\tilde{g}\rightarrow \tilde{t}_{1}t$ and $\tilde{g}\rightarrow \bar{t}t\tildeχ_{1}^{0}$, where $\tilde{t}_{1}t$ represents both $\tilde{t}_{1}\bar{t}$ and $\tilde{t}_{1}^{*}t$. The region with $m_{\tilde{g}} \lesssim 2$ TeV is excluded up to $68\%$ CL in the CMSSM if the gluino decays into a stop and top quark, while the $95\%$ CL exclusio…
We begin a systematic study of how gaugino mass unification can be probed at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in a quasi-model independent manner. As a first step in that direction we focus our attention on the theoretically well-motivated mirage pattern of gaugino masses, a one-parameter family of models of which universal (high scale) gaugino masses are a limiting case. We improve on previous methods to define an analytic expression for the metric on signature space and use it to study one-parameter deviations from universality in the gaugino sector, randomizing over other soft supersymm…
In this work we study the collider phenomenology of color-octet scalars (sgluons) in supersymmetric models with Dirac gaugino masses that feature an explicitly broken $R$ symmetry ($R$-broken models). We construct such models by augmenting minimal $R$-symmetric models with a fairly general set of supersymmetric and softly supersymmetry-breaking operators that explicitly break $R$ symmetry. We then compute the rates of all significant two-body decays and highlight new features that appear as a result of $R$ symmetry breaking, including enhancements to extant decay rates, novel tree- and loop-le…
One of the challenging tasks at future experiments is the clear identification of the underlying new physics model. In this study we concentrate on the distinction between different supersymmetric models, the MSSM and the NMSSM, exploring the gaugino/higgsino sector as an alternative to the Higgs sector. Under the assumption that only the light chargino and neutralino masses and polarized cross sections $e^+e^-\to \tildeχ^0_i\tildeχ^0_j$, $\tildeχ^+_i\tildeχ^-_j$ have been measured, we perform a fit of the fundamental MSSM parameters $M_1$, $M_2$, $μ$ and $\tanβ$ and study whether a model dist…
The chargino $\tildeχ^\pm_{1,2}$ system can be reconstructed completely in $e^+e^-$ collisions. By measuring the total cross sections and the asymmetries with polarized beams in $e^+e^-\to\tildeχ_i^+ \tildeχ_j^- [i,j=1,2]$, the chargino masses and the gaugino-higgsino mixing angles of these states can be determined very accurately. If only the lightest charginos $\tildeχ_1^\pm$ are kinematically accessible, transverse beam polarization is needed to determine the mixing angles unambiguously. From these observables the fundamental SUSY parameters can be derived: the SU(2) gaugino mass $M_2$, the…
We identify a parameter region where the mass of the lightest CP-even Higgs boson resides in $124.4-126.8$ GeV, and at the same time the degree of tuning a Higgsino-mass parameter (so-called $μ$-parameter) is relaxed above 10% in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with soft supersymmetry breaking terms, by solving the full set of one-loop renormalization group equations numerically. It is found that certain nonuniversal values of gaugino-mass parameters at the so-called grand unification theory (GUT) scale $\sim 10^{16}$ GeV are important ingredients for the MSSM to predict, with…
It is shown how the fundamental gaugino and higgsino parameters of the chargino and neutralino system in the MSSM can completely be determined in high--precision experiments at e+e- linear colliders even if in their initial phase only the light charginos $\tildeχ^\pm_1$ and the light neutralinos $\tildeχ^0_1$ and $\tildeχ^0_2$ are kinematically accessible.
We present formulae for the calculation of Dirac gaugino masses at leading order in the supersymmetry breaking scale using the methods of analytic continuation in superspace and demonstrate a link with kinetic mixing, even for non-abelian gauginos. We illustrate the result through examples in field and string theory. We discuss the possibility that the singlet superfield that gives the U(1) gaugino a Dirac mass may be a modulus, and some consequences of the D-term coupling to the scalar component. We give examples of possible effects in colliders and astroparticle experiments if the modulus sc…
In supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model, the Fermi scale of electroweak symmetry breaking is determined by the pattern of supersymmetry breaking. We present an example, motivated by a higher-dimensional GUT model, where a particular mass relation between the gauginos, third-generation squarks and Higgs fields of the MSSM leads to a Fermi scale smaller than the soft mass scale. This is in agreement with the measured Higgs boson mass. The mu parameter is generated independently of supersymmetry breaking, however the mu problem becomes less acute due to the little hierarchy between the…
If supersymmetry is dynamically broken in a hidden sector, the gauginos typically have unacceptably small masses. This situation can be corrected if a non-Abelian gauge interaction becomes strong at a scale of order 1 TeV and induces dynamical gaugino masses. We discuss the typical signals of this scenario at present and future colliders.
One of the most straightforward ways to address the flavor problem of low-energy supersymmetry is to arrange for the scalar soft terms to vanish simultaneously at a scale $M_{c}$ much larger than the electroweak scale. This occurs naturally in a number of scenarios, such as no-scale models, gaugino mediation, and several models with strong conformal dynamics. Unfortunately, the most basic version of this approach that incorporates gaugino mass unification and zero scalar masses at the grand unification scale is not compatible with collider and dark matter constraints. However, experimental con…
We explore the reach of luminosity upgrades of the Fermilab Tevatron collider for SU(5) supergravity models in which non-universal GUT-scale gaugino masses arise via a vacuum expectation value for the auxiliary component of a superfield that transforms as a 24, 75 or 200 dimensional representation of SU(5). This results in a different pattern of sparticle masses and mixing angles from what is expected in the minimal supergravity model (mSUGRA) with universal GUT scale gaugino masses. We find that the resulting signal cross sections, and hence the reach of the Tevatron, are sensitive to the gau…
In supersymmetric models with gravity-mediated SUSY breaking and gaugino mass unification, the predicted relic abundance of neutralinos usually exceeds the strict limits imposed by the WMAP collaboration. One way to obtain the correct relic abundance is to abandon gaugino mass universality and allow a mixed wino-bino lightest SUSY particle (LSP). The enhanced annihilation and scattering cross sections of mixed wino dark matter (MWDM) compared to bino dark matter lead to enhanced rates for direct dark matter detection, as well as for indirect detection at neutrino telescopes and for detection o…
While it is natural for supersymmetric particles to be well within the mass range of the large hadron collider, it is possible that the sparticle masses could be very heavy. Signatures are examined at a very high energy hadron collider and an very high luminosity option for the Large Hadron Collider in such scenarios.
The present Standard Model fit of precision data has a low confidence level, and is characterized by a few inconsistencies. We look for supersymmetric effects that could improve the agreement among the electroweak precision measurements and with the direct lower bound on the Higgs mass. We find that this is the case particularly if the 3.6 sigma discrepancy between sin^2 theta_eff from leptonic and hadronic asymmetries is finally settled more on the side of the leptonic ones. After the inclusion of all experimental constraints, our analysis selects light sneutrinos, with masses in the range 55…
Weak scale supersymmetry (SUSY) remains a compelling extension of the Standard Model because it stabilizes the quantum corrections to the Higgs and W, Z boson masses. In natural SUSY models these corrections are, by definition, never much larger than the corresponding masses. Natural SUSY models all have an upper limit on the gluino mass, too high to lead to observable signals even at the high luminosity LHC. However, in models with gaugino mass unification, the wino is sufficiently light that supersymmetry discovery is possible in other channels over the entire natural SUSY parameter space wi…
