We present a study, within a mean-field approach, of the kinetics of a mixed ferrimagnetic model on a square lattice in which two interpenetrating square sublattices have spins that can take two values, $σ=\pm1/2$, alternated with spins that can take the four values, $S=\pm3/2, \pm1/2$. We use the Glauber-type stochastic dynamics to describe the time evolution of the system with a crystal-field interaction in the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external magnetic field. The nature (continuous and discontinuous) of transition is characterized by studying the thermal behaviors of average order parameters in a period. The dynamic phase transition points are obtained and the phase diagrams are presented in the reduced magnetic field amplitude $(h)$ and reduced temperature $(T)$ plane, and in the reduced temperature and interaction parameter planes, namely in the $(h, T)$ and $(d, T)$ planes, $d$ is the reduced crystal-field interaction. The phase diagrams always exhibit a tricritical point in $(h, T)$ plane, but do not exhibit in the $(d, T)$ plane for low values of $h$. The dynamic multicritical point or dynamic critical end point exist in the $(d, T)$ plane for low values of $h$. Moreover, phase diagrams contain paramagnetic $(p)$, ferromagnetic $(f)$, ferrimagnetic $(i)$ phases, two coexistence or mixed phase regions, $(f+p)$ and $(i+p)$, that strongly depend on interaction parameters.
The mixed spin 3- spin 3/2 Ising model has been simulated using cooling algorithm on cellular automaton (CA). The simulations have been made in the interval -6<=D<=6 for J=1 for the square lattices with periodic boundary conditions. The ground state phase diagram of the model has different type ferrimagnetic orderings. Through D/J=2 line, compensation points occurs at kT/J=0. The values of the critical exponents ( ν, α, β and γ) are estimated within the framework of the finite-size scaling theory and power law relations for selected D/J values (-2, 0, 1, 2 and 4). The estimated critical expone…
In this work, we have performed Monte Carlo simulations to study phase transitions in a mixed spin-1 and spin-3/2 Ising ferrimagnetic system on the square and cubic lattices and with two different single-ion anisotropies. This lattice is divided in two interpenetrating sublattices with spins $S^A = 1$ (states $\pm1$ and 0) on the sublattice $A$ and $S^B = 3/2$ (states $\pm 3/2$, $\pm 1/2$) on the sublattice $B$. We have used single-ion anisotropies $D_{A}$ and $D_{B}$ acting on the sites of the sublattice $A$ and $B$, receptively. We have determined the phase diagrams of the model in the tempe…
We present a study, within a mean-field approach, of the kinetics of a classical mixed Ising ferrimagnetic model on a square lattice, in which the two interpenetrating square sublattices have spins $σ= \pm1/2$ and $S = \pm 1,0$. The kinetics is described by a Glauber-type stochastic dynamics in the presence of a time-dependent oscillating external field and a crystal field interaction. We can identify two types of solutions: a symmetric one, where the total magnetization, $M$, oscillates around zero, and an antisymmetric one where $M$ oscillates around a finite value different from zero. There…
The spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on diamond-like decorated Bethe lattices is exactly solved in the presence of the longitudinal magnetic field by combining the decoration-iteration mapping transformation with the method of exact recursion relations. In particular, the ground state and low-temperature magnetization process of the ferrimagnetic version of the considered model is investigated in detail. Three different magnetization scenarios with up to two consecutive fractional magnetization plateaus were found, whereas the intermediate magnetization plateau may either correspond to the clas…
Nonequilibrium phase transition properties of a mixed Ising ferrimagnetic model consisting of spin-1/2 and spin-3/2 on a square lattice under the existence of a time dependent oscillating magnetic field have been investigated by making use of Monte Carlo simulations with single-spin flip Metropolis algorithm. A complete picture of dynamic phase boundary and magnetization profiles have been illustrated and the conditions of a dynamic compensation behavior have been discussed in detail. According to our simulation results, the considered system does not point out a dynamic compensation behavior,…
We study the magnetic properties of a mixed Ising ferrimagnetic system, in which the two interacting sublattices have spins $σ$, $(\pm 1/2)$ and spins $S$, $(\pm 3/2,\pm 1/2)$ in the presence of a random crystal field, with the mean field approach. The obtained results show the existence of some interesting phenomena, such as the appearance of a new ferrimagnetic phase namely the partly ferrimagnetic phase $(m_σ=\frac{-1}{2},m_S=+1)$ and consequently the existence of three topologically different types of phase diagrams. The effect of increasing the exchange interaction parameter $J$, at very …
The ground state, magnetization scenario and the local bipartite quantum entanglement of a mixed spin-$1/2$ Ising--Heisenberg model in a magnetic field on planar lattices formed by identical corner-sharing bipyramidal plaquettes is examined by combining the exact analytical concept of generalized decoration-iteration mapping transformations with Monte Carlo simulations utilizing the Metropolis algorithm. The ground-state phase diagram of the model involves six different phases, namely, the standard ferrimagnetic phase, fully saturated phase, two unique quantum ferrimagnetic phases, and two mac…
The behavior of the compensation temperature of a mixed Ising ferrimagnetic system on a square lattice in which the two interpenetrating square sublattices have spins $σ$ ($\pm 1/2$) and spins $S$ ($\pm 1,0$) has been studied with Monte Carlo methods. Our model includes nearest and next-nearest neighbor interactions, a crystal field and an external magnetic field. This model is relevant for understanding bimetallic molecular ferrimagnetic materials. We found that there is a narrow range of parameters of the Hamiltonian for which the model has compensation temperatures and that the compensation…
Mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising ferrimagnets on a triangular lattice with sublattices A, B and C are studied for two spin value distributions $(S_{\rm A},S_{\rm B},S_{\rm C})=(1/2,1/2,1)$ and $(1/2,1,1)$ by Monte Carlo simulations. The non-bipartite character of the lattice induces geometrical frustration in both systems, which leads to the critical behavior rather different from their ferromagnetic counterparts. We confirm second-order phase transitions belonging to the standard Ising universality class occurring at higher temperatures, however, in both models these change at tricritical poin…
Spin-1/2 orthogonal-dimer chain composed of regularly alternating Ising and Heisenberg dimers is exactly solved in a presence of the magnetic field by the transfer-matrix method. It is shown that the ground-state phase diagram involves in total six different phases. Besides the ferromagnetic phase with fully polarized spins one encounters the singlet antiferromagnetic and modulated antiferromagnetic phases manifested in zero-temperature magnetization curves as zero magnetization plateau, the frustrated ferrimagnetic and singlet ferrimagnetic phases causing existence of an intermediate one-half…
A spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg branched chain constituted by regularly alternating Ising spins and Heisenberg dimers involving an additional side branching is exactly solved in a magnetic field by the transfer-matrix method. The spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg branched chain involves two different Ising and one Heisenberg coupling constants. The overall ground-state phase diagram is formed by three different ground states emergent depending on a mutual interplay between the magnetic field and three considered coupling constants: the modulated quantum antiferromagnetic phase, the quantum ferrimagnetic p…
The spin-1/2 Ising diamond chain in a magnetic field displays a remarkable pseudo-transition whenever it is driven sufficiently close to a ground-state phase boundary between a classical ferrimagnetic phase and a highly degenerate frustrated phase. The pseudo-transition of the spin-1/2 Ising diamond chain relates to intense thermal excitations from a nondegenerate ferrimagnetic ground state to a highly degenerate manifold of excited states with a frustrated character, which are responsible for an anomalous behavior of thermodynamic quantities. Temperature dependences of entropy and specific he…
The ferrimagnetic spin-1/2 chain composed of alternating Ising and Heisenberg spins in an arbitrarily oriented magnetic field is exactly solved using the spin-rotation transformation and the transfer-matrix method. It is shown that the low-temperature magnetization process depends basically on a spatial orientation of the magnetic field. A sharp stepwise magnetization curve with a marked intermediate plateau, which emerges for the magnetic field applied along the easy-axis direction of the Ising spins, becomes smoother and the intermediate plateau shrinks if the external field is tilted from t…
The ground state and thermodynamics of a generalized spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg diamond chain with the second-neighbor interaction between nodal spins are calculated exactly using the mapping method based on the decoration-iteration transformation. Rigorous results for the magnetization, susceptibility, and heat capacity are investigated in dependence on temperature and magnetic field for the frustrated diamond spin chain with the antiferromagnetic Ising and Heisenberg interactions. It is demonstrated that the second-neighbor interaction between nodal spins gives rise to a greater diversity of …
The linear perturbation group transformation (LPRG) is used to study the thermodynamics of the axial next-nearest-neighbor Ising model with four spin interactions (extended ANNNI) in a field. The LPRG for weakly interacting Ising chains is presented. The method is used to study finite field para-ferrimagnetic phase transitions observed in layered uranium compounds, UAs_{1-x}Se_x, UPd_2Si_2 or UNi_2Si_2. The above-mentioned systems are made of ferromagnetic layers and the spins from the nearest-neighbor and next-nearest-neighbor layers are coupled by the antiferromagnetic interactions J_1<0 and…
We study a bilayer Ising spin system consisting of antiferromagnetic (AF) and ferromagnetic (FM) triangular planes, coupled by ferromagnetic exchange interaction, by standard Monte Carlo and parallel tempering methods. The AF/FM bilayer is found to display the critical behavior completely different from both the single FM and AF constituents as well as the FM/FM and AF/AF bilayers. Namely, by finite-size scaling (FSS) analysis we identify at the same temperature a standard Ising transition from the paramagnetic to FM state in the FM plane that induces a ferrimagnetic state with a finite net ma…
Phase transitions, compensation phenomenon and magnetization of a ferro-ferrimagnetic ternary alloy AB$_ρ$C$_{1-ρ}$ composed of three different kinds of magnetic ions A, B and C with the spin magnitude 1/2, 1 and 3/2 are examined within the framework of a mixed-spin Ising model on a honeycomb lattice with a selective annealed site disorder on one of its two sublattices. It is supposed that the first sublattice of a bipartite honeycomb lattice is formed by the spin-1/2 magnetic ions, while the sites of the second sublattice are randomly occupied either by the spin-1 magnetic ions with a probabi…
The exactly solvable spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on diamond chain has been considered. We have found the exact results for the magnetization by using recursion relation method. The existence of the magnetization plateau has been observed at one third of the saturation magnetization in the antiferromagnetic case. Some ground-state properties of the model are examined. At low temperatures, the system has two ferrimagnetic (FRI1 and FRI2) phases and one paramagnetic (PRM) phase. Lyapunov exponents for the various values of the exchange parameters and temperatures have been analyzed. It have a…
A hybrid spin-electron system defined on one-dimensional double-tetrahedral chain, in which the localized Ising spin regularly alternates with two mobile electrons delocalized over a triangular plaquette, is exactly solved with the help of generalized decoration-iteration transformation. It is shown that a macroscopic degeneracy of ferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic ground states arising from chiral degrees of freedom of the mobile electrons cannot be lifted by a magnetic field in contrast to a macroscopic degeneracy of the frustrated ground state, which appears owing to a kinetically-driven frus…
Here we consider the Ising-Heisenberg model in the expanded Kagomé lattice, also known as triangle-dodecagon (3-12) or star lattice. This model can still be understood as a decorated honeycomb lattice. Assuming that the Heisenberg spins are at the vertices of the triangle while other spins are of the Ising type. Thus, this model is equivalent to an effective Kagomé Ising lattice, through the decoration transformation technique. Thus this means that the model is exactly solvable so we can study the most relevant properties of this model. Like the phase diagram at zero temperature, exhibiting a …
The ground state and magnetization process of an exactly solved spin-$1/2$ Ising-Heisenberg orthogonal-dimer chain with two different gyromagnetic factors of the Ising and Heisenberg spins are investigated in detail. It is shown that the investigated quantum spin chain exhibits up to seven possible ground states depending on a mutual interplay of the magnetic field, intra- and inter-dimer coupling constants. More specifically, the frustrated and modulated quantum antiferromagnetic phases are responsible in zero-temperature magnetization curves for a zero magnetization plateau. The intermediate…
Recently, it has been rigorously verified that several one-dimensional (1D) spin models may exhibit a peculiar pseudo-transition accompanied with anomalous response of thermodynamic quantities in a close vicinity of pseudo-critical temperature. In the present work we will introduce and exactly solve a mixed spin-(1/2,1) Ising-Heisenberg double-tetrahedral chain in an external magnetic field as another particular example of 1D lattice-statistical model with short-range interactions that displays a pseudo-transition of this type. The investigated model exhibits at zero temperature three ferrimag…
The mixed spin-(1/2, S_B, S_C) Ising model on a decorated square lattice with two different kinds of decorating spins S_B and S_C placed on its horizontal and vertical bonds, respectively, is exactly solved by establishing a precise mapping relationship with the corresponding spin-1/2 Ising model on an anisotropic square (rectangular) lattice. The effect of uniaxial single-ion anisotropy acting on both types of decorating spins S_B and S_C is examined in particular. If decorating spins S_B and S_C are integer and half-odd-integer, respectively, or if the reverse is the case, the model under in…
}Thermodynamic properties and phase diagrams of a mixed spin-(1, 2) Ising ferrimagnetic system with single ion anisotropy on hexagonal nanowire are studied by using effective-field theory with correlations. The susceptibility, internal energy and specific heat of the system are numerically examined and some interesting phenomena in these quantities are found. The effect of the Hamiltonian parameters on phase diagrams are examined in detail. Besides second-order phase transition, lines of first-order transition and tricritical points are found. In particular, we found that for some negative val…
We study critical and magnetic properties of a bilayer Ising system consisting of two triangular planes A and B, with the antiferromagnetic (AF) coupling $J_{\rm A}$ and the ferromagnetic (FM) one $J_{\rm B}$ for the respective layers, which are coupled by the interlayer interaction $J_{\rm AB}$ by using Monte Carlo simulations. When $J_{\rm A}$ and $J_{\rm B}$ are of the same order, the unfrustrated FM plane orders first at a high temperature $T_{c1} \sim J_{\rm B}$. The spontaneous FM order then exerts influence on the other frustrated AF plane as an effective magnetic field, which subsequen…
A coupled spin-electron diamond chain with localized Ising spins placed on its nodal sites and mobile electrons delocalized over interstitial sites is explored in a magnetic field taking into account the difference between Landé g-factors of the localized spins and mobile electrons. The ground-state phase diagram is constituted by two classical ferrimagnetic phases, the quantum unsaturated paramagnetic phase and the saturated paramagnetic phase. Both classical ferrimagnetic phases as well as the unsaturated paramagnetic phase are reflected in a low-temperature magnetization curve as intermedia…
The local scale invariance has been investigated in the nonequilibrium kinetic Ising model exhibiting absorbing phase transition of PC type in 1+1 dimension. Numerical evidence has been found for the satisfaction of this symmetry and estimates for the critical ageing exponents are given.
In this paper we present a study of the effects of two different single-ion anisotropies in the phase diagram and in the compensation temperature of the mixed spin-2 and spin-5/2 Ising ferrimagnetic system. We employed the mean-field theory based on the Bogoliubov inequality for the Gibbs free energy. Also we found the Landau expansion of the free energy in the order parameter to describe the phase diagrams. In the plane critical temperature versus single-ion anisotropie the phase diagram displays tricritical behavior. The critical and compensation temperatures increase when the single-ion ani…
We study low-temperature magnetization processes in a stacked triangular Ising antiferromagnet by Monte Carlo simulations. In increasing and decreasing magnetic fields we observe multiple steps and hysteresis corresponding to formation of different metastable states. Besides the equidistant threefold splitting of the 1/3 ferrimagnetic plateau, we additionally confirm a fourth plateau in the field-increasing branch and a sizable remanence when the field is decreased to zero. The newly observed plateau only appears at sufficiently low temperature and sufficiently large exchange interaction in th…
The kinetic Ising model in a weak oscillating magnetic field is studied in the context of stochastic resonance. The signal-to-noise ratio calculated with simulations is found to peak at a nontrivial resonance temperature above the equilibrium critical temperature T_c. We argue that its appearance is closely related to the vanishing of the kinetic coefficient at T_c. Comparisons with various theoretical results in one and higher dimensions are made.
We show that a nominal temperature can be consistently and uniquely defined everywhere in the phase diagram of large classes of nonequilibrium kinetic Ising spin models. In addition, we confirm the recent proposal that, at critical points, the large-time ``fluctuation-dissipation ratio'' $X_\infty$ is a universal amplitude ratio and find in particular $X_\infty \approx 0.33(2)$ and $X_\infty = 1/2$ for the magnetization in, respectively, the two-dimensional Ising and voter universality classes.
The magnetic properties and phase diagrams of the mixed spin Ising model, with spins S=1 and σ=1/2 on a centered rectangular structure, have been investigated using Monte Carlo simulations based on the Metropolis algorithm. Every spin at one lattice site has four nearest-neighbor spins of the same type and four of the other type. We have assumed ferromagnetic interaction between the same spins type, antiferromagnetic for different spin types. An additional single-site crystal field term on the S=1 site was considered. We have shown that the crystal field enhances the existence of the compensat…
The exact energy spectrum is developed for a two temperature kinetic Ising spin chain, and its dual reaction diffusion system with spatially alternating pair annihilation and creation rates. Symmetries of the system pseudo-Hamiltonian that enable calculation of the spectrum are also used to derive explicit state vectors for small system sizes, and to make observations regarding state vectors in the general case. Physical consequences of the surprisingly simple form for the eigenvalues are also discussed.
The evolution of the structure factor is studied during the phase-ordering dynamics of the kinetic Ising model with conserved order parameter. A preasymptotic multiscaling regime is found as in the solution of the Cahn-Hilliard-Cook equation, revealing that the late stage of phase-ordering is always approached through a crossover from multiscaling to standard scaling, independently from the nature of the microscopic dynamics.
Recently Baumann et al. [arXiv:0709.3228v1] studied the phase-ordering kinetics of the two-dimensional Ising model with uniform spatially quenched disorder by Monte-Carlo simulations. They found that the two-time response and correlation functions are in agreement with the predictions of local scale invariance generalised to z!=2. The present paper shows why this is not true and suggests an alternative approach which leads to a much better agreement with the numerical results.
The slow dynamics (10^-6 s - 10^4 s) of the magnetization in the paramagnetic phase, predicted by Glauber for 1d Ising ferromagnets, has been observed with ac susceptibility and SQUID magnetometry measurements in a molecular chain comprising alternating Co{2+} spins and organic radical spins strongly antiferromagnetically coupled. An Arrhenius behavior with activation energy Delta=152 K has been observed for ten decades of relaxation time and found to be consistent with the Glauber model. We have extended this model to take into account the ferrimagnetic nature of the chain as well as its heli…
Using numerical simulations we investigate the properties of the dynamic phase transition that is encountered in the three-dimensional Ising model subjected to a periodically oscillating magnetic field. The values of the critical exponents are determined through finite-size scaling. Our results show that the studied non-equilibrium phase transition belongs to the universality class of the equilibrium three-dimensional Ising model.
Ising models obeying Glauber dynamics in a temporally oscillating magnetic field are analyzed. In the context of stochastic resonance, the response in the magnetization is calculated by means of both a mean-field theory with linear-response approximation, and the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau equation. Analytic results for the temperature and frequency dependent response, including the resonance temperature, compare favorably with simulation data.
A kinetic Ising model description of Liesegang phenomena is studied using Monte Carlo simulations. The model takes into account thermal fluctuations, contains noise in the chemical reactions, and its control parameters are experimentally accessible. We find that noisy, irregular precipitation takes place in dimension d=2 while, depending on the values of the control parameters, either irregular patterns or precipitation bands satisfying the regular spacing law emerge in d=3.
We investigate how the time evolution of different kinetic Ising models depends on the initial conditions of the dynamics. To this end we consider the simultaneous evolution of two identical systems subjected to the same thermal noise. We derive a master equation for the time evolution of a joint probability distribution of the two systems. This equation is then solved within an effective-field approach. By analyzing the fixed points of the master equation and their stability we identify regular and chaotic phases.
Mixed-spin Ising model on a decorated Bethe lattice is rigorously solved by combining the decoration-iteration transformation with the method of exact recursion relations. Exact results for critical lines, compensation temperatures, total and sublattice magnetizations are obtained from a precise mapping relationship with the corresponding spin-1/2 Ising model on a simple (undecorated) Bethe lattice. The effect of next-nearest-neighbour interaction and single-ion anisotropy on magnetic properties of the ferrimagnetic model is investigated in particular. It is shown that the total magnetization …
We consider a model for thermal contact through a diathermal interface between two macroscopic bodies at different temperatures: an Ising spin chain with nearest neighbor interactions is endowed with a Glauber dynamics with different temperatures and kinetic parameters on alternating sites. The inhomogeneity of the kinetic parameter is a novelty with respect to the model of Ref.[1] and we exhibit its influence upon the stationary non equilibrium values of the two-spin correlations at any distance. By mapping to the dynamics of spin domain walls and using free fermion techniques, we determine t…
We report a study of nonequilibrium relaxation in a two-dimensional random field Ising model at a nonzero temperature. We attempt to observe the coarsening from a different perspective with a particular focus on three dynamical quantities that characterize the kinetic coarsening. We provide a simple generalized scaling relation of coarsening supported by numerical results. The excellent data collapse of the dynamical quantities justifies our proposition. The scaling relation corroborates the recent observation that the average linear domain size satisfies different scaling behavior in differen…
We present a comparative study of the fate of an Ising ferromagnet on the square lattice with periodic boundary conditions evolving under three different zero-temperature dynamics. The first one is Glauber dynamics, the two other dynamics correspond to two limits of the directed Ising model, defined by rules that break the full symmetry of the former, yet sharing the same Boltzmann-Gibbs distribution at stationarity. In one of these limits the directed Ising model is reversible, in the other one it is irreversible. For the kinetic Ising-Glauber model, several recent studies have demonstrated t…
One-dimensional non-equilibrium kinetic Ising models evolving under the competing effect of spin flips at zero temperature and nearest neighbour spin exchanges exhibiting a parity-conserving (PC) phase transition on the level of kinks are investigated here numerically from the point of view of the underlying spin system. The dynamical persistency exponent $Θ$ and the exponent $lambda$ characterising the two-time autocorrelation function of the total magnetization under non-equilibrium conditions are reported. It is found that the PC transition has strong effect: the process becomes non-Markovi…
We study the phase-ordering kinetics following a quench to a final temperature $T_f$ of the one-dimensional p-state clock model. We show the existence of a critical value $p_c=4$, where the properties of the dynamics change. At $T_f=0$, for $p\le p_c$ the dynamics is analogous to that of the kinetic Ising model, characterized by Brownian motion and annihilation of interfaces. Dynamical scaling is obeyed with the same dynamical exponents and scaling functions of the Ising model. For $p>p_c$, instead, the dynamics is dominated by a texture mechanism analogous to the one-dimensional XY model, and…
If quenched to zero temperature, the one-dimensional Ising spin chain undergoes coarsening, whereby the density of domain walls decays algebraically in time. We show that this coarsening process can be interrupted by exerting a rapidly oscillating periodic field with enough strength to compete with the spin-spin interaction. By analyzing correlation functions and the distribution of domain lengths both analytically and numerically, we observe nontrivial correlation with more than one length scale at the threshold field strength.
Nonequilibrium kinetic Ising models evolving under the competing effect of spin flips at zero temperature and Kawasaki-type spin-exchange kinetics at infinite temperature T are investigated here in one dimension from the point of view of phase transition and critical behaviour. Branching annihilating random walks with an even number of offspring (on the part of the ferromagnetic domain boundaries), is a decisive process in forming the steady state of the system for a range of parameters, in the family of models considered. A wide variety of quantities characterize the critical behaviour of the…
The exact relation between the response function $R(t,t^{\prime})$ and the two time correlation function $C(t,t^{\prime})$ is derived analytically in the one dimensional kinetic Ising model subjected to a temperature quench. The fluctuation dissipation ratio $X(t,t^{\prime})$ is found to depend on time through $C(t,t^{\prime})$ in the time region where scaling $C(t,t^{\prime}) = f(t/t^{\prime})$ holds. The crossover from the nontrivial form $X(C(t,t^{\prime}))$ to $X(t,t^{\prime}) \equiv 1$ takes place as the waiting time $t_w$ is increased from below to above the equilibration time $t_{eq}$.
The dynamic critical exponent and the frequency and wave-vector dependent susceptibility of the kinetic Ising model with Glauber dynamics on an alternating isotopic chain are examined. The analysis provides to our knowledge the first connection between a microscopic model and the Nagel scaling curve originally proposed to describe dielectric susceptibility measurements of several glass-forming liquids. While support is given to the hypothesis relating the Nagel scaling to multiple relaxation processes, it is also found that the scaling function may also exhibit plateau regions and does not hol…
The nonequilibrium dynamic phase transition, in the two dimensional kinetic Ising model in presence of a randomly varying (in time but uniform in space) magnetic field, has been studied both by Monte Carlo simulation and by solving the mean field dynamic equation of motion for the average magnetisation. In both the cases, the time averaged magnetisation vanishes from a nonzero value depending upon the values of the width of randomly varying field and the temperature. The phase boundary lines are drawn in the plane formed by the width of the random field and the temperature.
We used mean-field theory based on the Bogoliubov inequality for the Gibbs free energy to examine the magnetic properties of a mixed spin-5/2 and spin-7/2 Blume-Capel ferrimagnetic system. The thermal behaviours of the system magnetization are classified according to the extended Néel nomenclature. The system exhibits compensation phenomena where a complete cancellation of sublattice magnetizations is observed below the critical temperature. Temperature-dependent phase diagrams are constructed for the case of unequal sublattice crystal field interactions. Under appropriate conditions, our calc…
In this paper we study generalised Ising Glauber models with inflow of informa- tion in one dimension and derive expressions for the exit probability using well established analytical methods. The analytical expressions agree very well with the results obtained from numerical simulation only when the interaction is restricted to the nearest neighbor. But as the range of interaction is increased the analytical results deviate from simulation results systematically. The reasons for the deviation as well as some related open questions are discussed.
The nonequilibrium dynamic phase transition, in the two dimensional site diluted kinetic Ising model in presence of an oscillating magnetic field, has been studied by Monte Carlo simulation. The projections of dynamical phase surface are drawn in the planes formed by the dilution and field amplitude and the plane formed by temperature and field amplitude. The tricritical behaviour is found to be absent in this case which was observed in the pure system.
