A model for a spatially flat homogeneous and isotropic Universe whose gravitational sources are a pressureless matter field and a tachyon field non-minimally coupled to the gravitational field is analyzed. Noether symmetry is used to find the expressions for the potential density and for the coupling function, and it is shown that both must be exponential functions of the tachyon field. Two cosmological solutions are investigated: (i) for the early Universe whose only source of the gravitational field is a non-minimally coupled tachyon field which behaves as an inflaton and leads to an exponential accelerated expansion and (ii) for the late Universe whose gravitational sources are a pressureless matter field and a non-minimally coupled tachyon field which plays the role of dark energy and is the responsible of the decelerated-accelerated transition period.
We study the general properties of attractors in a cosmological model with tachyonic potential and a scalar field non-minimally coupled to matter. A general analytic formulation is given to derive fixed points with a discussion on their stability. We also check the consistency of the model by fitting it to the supernovae type Ia data.
A model for a homogeneous, isotropic, flat Universe composed by dark energy and matter is investigated. Dark energy is considered to behave as a tachyon field, which is non-minimally coupled to gravity. The connection is treated as metric independent when varying the action, providing an extra term to the Lagrangian density. The self-interaction potential and coupling are naturally found by imposing a Noether symmetry to the system. We analyze the evolution of the density parameters and we compare the results obtained for the deceleration parameter, luminosity distance and Hubble parameter wit…
A cosmological model where a fermion field is non-minimally coupled with the gravitational field is studied. By applying Noether symmetry the possible functions for the potential density of the fermion field and for the coupling are determined. Cosmological solutions are found showing that the non-minimally coupled fermion field behaves as an inflaton describing an accelerated inflationary scenario, whereas the minimally coupled fermion field describes a decelerated period being identified as dark matter.
We use Noether symmetry approach to find spherically symmetric static solutions of the non-minimally coupled electromagnetic fields to gravity. We construct the point-like Lagrangian under the spherical symmetry assumption. Then we determine Noether symmetry and the corresponding conserved charge. We derive Euler-Lagrange equations from this point-like Lagrangian and show that these equations are same with the differential equations derived from the field equations of the model. Also we give two new exact asymptotically flat solutions to these equations and investigate some thermodynamic prope…
In this Letter by utilizing the Noether symmetry approach in cosmology, we attempt to find the tachyon potential via the application of this kind of symmetry to a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) metric. We reduce the system of equations to simpler ones and obtain the general class of the tachyon's potential function and $f(R)$ functions. We have found that the Noether symmetric model results in a power law $f(R)$ and an inverse fourth power potential for the tachyonic field. Further we investigate numerically the cosmological evolution of our model and show explicitly the behavior of the…
We analyse a scalar field non-minimally coupled to gravity in the context of a Universe described by the flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (F-R-W) metric. The adopted model comprises a Universe filled by the scalar field and standard matter (dark and baryonic). The corresponding field equations are obtained through the Palatini formalism. From the action of the model in the flat F-R-W space-time, a point-like Lagrangian of first order is obtained and the Noether symmetry approach is applied to restrict the forms of the a priori undefined coupling and potential of the scalar field. We show that t…
We perform a full investigation on dynamics of a new dark energy model in which the four-derivative of a non-canonical scalar field (tachyon) is non-minimally coupled to the vector torsion. Our analysis is done in the framework of teleparallel equivalent of general relativity which is based on torsion instead of curvature. We show that in our model there exists a late-time scaling attractor (point $P_{4}$), corresponding to an accelerating universe with the property that dark energy and dark matter densities are of the same order. Such a point can help to alleviate the cosmological coincidence…
We discuss non-minimally coupled cosmologies involving different geometric invariants. Specifically, actions containing a non-minimally coupled scalar field to gravity described, in turn, by curvature, torsion and Gauss--Bonnet scalars are considered. We show that couplings, potentials and kinetic terms are determined by the existence of Noether symmetries which, moreover, allows to reduce and solve dynamics. The main finding of the paper is that different non-minimally coupled theories, presenting the same Noether symmetries, are dynamically equivalent. In other words, Noether symmetries are …
We study inflation, perturbations, non-gaussinity and late-time cosmological dynamics of a tachyon field both minimally and non-minimally coupled to gravity. By analyzing the parameters space of the model, the viability of the model in confrontation with recent observational data is considered. In a dynamical system technique, we study the phase space dynamics of both minimally and non-minimally coupled tachyon field. We find the fixed points (lines in our setup) and explore their stability. Also, we perform a statefinder diagnostic to both cases and show that the trajectories of the state fin…
A detailed dynamical analysis of the tachyonic teleparallel dark energy model, in which a non-canonical scalar field (tachyon field) is non-minimally coupled to gravitation, is performed. It is found that, when the non-minimal coupling is ruled by a dynamically changing coefficient $α\equiv f_{,ϕ}/\sqrt{f}$, with $f(ϕ)$ an arbitrary function of the scalar field $ϕ$, the universe may experience a field-matter-dominated era "$ϕ$MDE", in which it has some portions of the energy density of $ϕ$ in the matter dominated era. This is the most significant difference in relation to the so-called telepar…
An action of general form is proposed for a Universe containing matter, radiation and dark energy. The latter is interpreted as a tachyon field non-minimally coupled to the scalar curvature. The Palatini approach is used when varying the action so the connection is given by a more generic form. Both the self-interaction potential and the non-minimally coupling function are obtained by constraining the system to present invariability under global point transformation of the fields (Noether Symmetry). The only possible solution is shown to be that of minimal coupling and constant potential (Chap…
In this paper, we consider rolling tachyon, with steep run-away type of potentials non-minimally coupled to massive neutrino matter. The coupling dynamically builds up at late times as neutrino matter turns non-relativistic. In case of scaling and string inspired potentials, we have shown that non-minimal coupling leads to minimum in the field potential. Given a suitable choice of model parameters, it is shown to give rise to late-time acceleration with the desired equation of state.
Recently, the tachyon cosmology has been represented as dark energy model to support the current acceleration of the universe without phantom crossing. In this paper, we study the dynamics of the tachyon cosmology in which the field plays the role of tachyon field and also non--minimally coupled to the matter lagrangian. The model shows current universe acceleration and also phantom crossing in the future. Two cosmological tests are also performed to validate the model; the difference in the distance modulus and the model independent Cosmological Redshift Drift (CRD) test.
Here, non-minimally coupled tachyon to gravity is considered as a source of "dark energy". It is demonstrated that with expansion of the universe, tachyon dark energy decays to "dark matter" providing a solution to "cosmic coincidence problem".Moreover, it is found that universe undergoes accelerated expansion simultaneously.
We construct a single scalar field model with tachyon field non-minimally coupled to itself, its derivative and to the curvature. We study the cosmological dynamics of the equation of state in this setup. While it is expected that in the case of single scalar field the crossing of the phantom divide line can not be realized [10], we show that incorporating quantum corrections, namely, non-minimal derivative coupling of scalar field with curvature in our model, lead to phantom divide crossing.
In this work we consider a scale-tensor theory in which the space-time is endowed with a Weyl integrable geometrical structure due to the Palatini variational method. Since the scalar field has a geometrical nature (related to non-metricity), the theory is known as \textit{Geometrical Scalar-Tensor}. On the framework of Weyl transformations, a non-minimally coupled scalar-tensor theory on the Jordan frame corresponds to a minimally coupled Einstein-Hilbert action on the Einstein frame. The scalar potential is selected by the Noether symmetry approach in order to obtain conserved quantities for…
We use our Nöther Symmetry Approach to study the Einstein equations minimally coupled with a scalar field, in the case of Bianchi universes of class A and B. Possible cases, when such symmetries exist, are found and two examples of exact integration of the equations of motion are given in the cases of Bianchi AI and BV.
A gravitational theory of a scalar field non-minimally coupled with torsion and boundary term is considered with the aim to construct Lorentzian wormholes. Geometrical parameters including shape and redshift functions are obtained for these solutions. We adopt the formalism of Noether Gauge Symmetry Approach in order to find symmetries, Lie brackets and invariants (conserved quantities). Furthermore by imposing specific forms of potential function, we are able to calculate metric coefficients and discuss their geometrical behavior.
We study tachyon field inflation in the light of the Planck+WMAP+BICEP2+BAO joint data. While the minimally coupled tachyon field inflation is consistent with the Planck2013 data, it is not confirmed by the Planck+WMAP+BICEP2+BAO dataset. However, a nonminimally coupled tachyon field inflation is consistent with this joint dataset.
In the framework of teleparallel gravity, the Friedman-Robertson-Walker cosmological model with scalar tensor theory where scalar field is non-minimally coupled to both the torsion scalar and boundary term is studied. Utilizing the Noether symmetry approach in such a theory, we obtain the explicit forms of the couplings and potential as a function the scalar field. We present some important cosmological solutions for the modified field equations using these functions getting via the Noether symmetry approach. Finally, the interesting cosmological properties of these solutions are discussed in …
It has been shown earlier that Noether symmetry does not admit a form of F(R) corresponding to an action in which F(R) is coupled to scalar-tensor action for gravity or even for pure F(R) gravity taking anisotropic model into account. Here, we prove that F(R) theory of gravity does not admit Noether symmetry even if it is coupled to Tachyonic field and considering a gauge in addition. To handle such a theory, a general conserved current has been constructed under a condition which decouples higher order curvature part from the field part. This condition in principle, solves for the scale facto…
In this work, a cosmological model is considered having two scalar fields minimally coupled to gravity with a mixed kinetic term. The model is characterized by the coupling function and the potential function which are assumed to depend on one of the scalar fields. Instead of choosing these functions phenomenologically here, they are evaluated assuming the existence of Noether symmetry. By appropriate choice of a point transformation in the augmented space, one of the variables in the Lagrangian becomes cyclic and the evolution equations become much simpler to have solutions. Finally, the solu…
We consider the Noether Symmetry Approach for a cosmological model derived from a tachyon scalar field $T$ with a Dirac-Born-Infeld Lagrangian and a potential $V(T)$. Furthermore, we assume a coupled canonical scalar field $ϕ$ with an arbitrary interaction potential $B(T,ϕ)$. Exact solutions are derived consistent with the accelerated behavior of cosmic fluid.
In the present work, we consider a model with a fermionic field that is non-minimally coupled to gravity in the framework of teleparallel gravity. In order to determine forms of the coupling and potential function of fermionic field for the considered model, we use Noether symmetry approach. By applying this approach, for the Friedman-Robertson-Walker metric, we obtain respective potential and coupling function as a linear and power-law form of the bilinear $Ψ$. Further we search the exact cosmological solution of the model. It is shown that the fermionic field plays role of the dark energy.
We examine the cosmological solutions of a tachyon field non minimally coupled to gravity through an effective Born-Infeld interacting Lagrangian with a power law potential, in order to investigate its equation of state as related to tracking properties. We find exact solutions in the case of a tachyon dominated Universe and when the dominant component of the stress energy tensor is determined by some other perfect fluid.
Unlike Noether symmetry, a metric independent general conserved current exits for non-minimally coupled scalar-tensor theory of gravity, if the trace of the energy momentum tensor vanishes. Thus, in the context of cosmology, a symmetry exists both in the early vacuum and radiation dominated era. For slow roll, symmetry is sacrificed, but at the end of early inflation, such a symmetry leads to a Friedmann-like radiation era. Late time cosmic acceleration in the matter dominated era is realized in the absence of symmetry, in view of the same decayed and red-shifted scalar field. Thus, unificatio…
We study a minimally coupled tachyon field rolling down to its ground state on the FRW brane. We construct tacyonic potential which can implements power law inflation in the brane world cosmology. The potential turns out to be ${V_0 ϕ^{-1}}$ on the brane and reduces to inverse square potential at late times when brane corrections to the Friedmann equation become negligible. We also do similar exercise with a normal scalar field and discover that the inverse square potential on the brane leads to power law inflation.
The bouncing cosmology provides a successful solution of the cosmological singularity problem. In this paper, we study the bouncing behavior of a single scalar field model with tachyon field non-minimally coupled to itself, its derivative and to the curvature. By utilizing the numerical calculations we will show that the bouncing solution can appear in the universe dominated by such a quintom matter with equation of state crossing the phantom divide line. We also investigate the classical stability of our model using the phase velocity of the homogeneous perturbations of the tachyon scalar fie…
We provide a construction of a class of local and de Sitter covariant tachyonic quantum fields which exist for discrete negative values of the squared mass parameter and which have no Minkowskian counterpart. These quantum fields satisfy an anomalous non-homogeneous Klein-Gordon equation. The anomaly is a covariant field which can be used to select the physical subspace (of finite codimension) where the homogeneous tachyonic field equation holds in the usual form. We show that the model is local and de Sitter invariant on the physical space. Our construction also sheds new light on the massles…
The present work deals with quantum cosmology for non-minimally coupled scalar field in the background of FLRW space--time model. The Wheeler-DeWitt equation is constructed and symmetry analysis is carried out. The Lie point symmetries are related to the conformal algebra of the minisuperspace while solution of the Wheeler-DeWitt equation is obtained using conserved currents of the Noether symmetries.
The present work deals with scalar field cosmology in the framework of a quantum gravity modified Einstein-Hilbert Lagrangian with variable $G$ and $Λ$. Using Renormalization group, variable $G$ behaves as a minimally coupled filed (not the scalar-tensor theory) and variable $Λ$ can be interpreted as a potential function. The point Lagrangian for this model in the background of homogeneous and isotropic flat FLRW space-time model experiences point-like Noether symmetry and equivalent potential function $Λ(G)$ is determined. Using a point transformation in the $3D$ augmented space is found that…
The aim of the present work is to investigate a non-minimally coupled scalar field model through the Noether symmetry approach, with the radiation, matter and cosmological constant eras being analyzed. The Noether symmetry condition allows a conformal coupling and by means of a change of coordinates in the configuration space the field equations can be reduced to a single equation, which is of the form of the Friedmann equation for the $Λ$CDM model. In this way, it is formally shown that the dynamical system can furnish solutions with the same form as those of the $Λ$CDM model, although the th…
Extended $f(R)$ theories of gravity have been investigated from the symmetry point of view. We briefly has been investigated Noether symmetry of two types of extended $f(R)$ theories: $f(R,T)$ theory, in which curvature is coupled non minimally to the trace of energy momentum tensor $T_{μν}$ and mimetic $f (R) $ gravity, a theory with a scalar field degree of freedom, but ghost-free and with internal conformal symmetry. In both cases we write point -like Lagrangian for flat Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) cosmological background in the presence of ordinary matter. We have been shown…
The exact solutions of spherically symmetric space-times are explored by using Noether symmetries in $f(R,ϕ,X)$ gravity with $R$ the scalar curvature, $ϕ$ a scalar field and $X$ the kinetic term of $ϕ$. Some of these solutions can represent new black holes solutions in this extended theory of gravity. The classical Noether approach is particularly applied to acquire the Noether symmetry in $f(R,ϕ,X)$ gravity. Under the classical Noether theorem, it is shown that the Noether symmetry in $f(R,ϕ,X)$ gravity yields the solvable first integral of motion. With the conservation relation obtained from…
We study the evolution of a three-dimensional minisuperspace cosmological model by the Noether symmetry approach. The phase space variables turn out to correspond to the scale factor of a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) model, a scalar field with potential function $V(ϕ)$ with which the gravity part of the action is minimally coupled and a vector field of its kinetic energy is coupled with the scalar field by a coupling function $f(ϕ)$. Then, the Noether symmetry of such a cosmological model is investigated by utilizing the behavior of the corresponding Lagrangian under the infinitesimal…
In this paper, we present a complete Noether Symmetry analysis in the framework of scalar-tensor cosmology. Specifically, we consider a non-minimally coupled scalar field action embedded in the FLRW spacetime and provide a full set of Noether symmetries for related minisuperspaces. The presence of symmetries implies that the dynamical system becomes integrable and then we can compute cosmological analytical solutions for specific functional forms of coupling and potential functions selected by the Noether Approach.
The Noether symmetry analysis is applied for the study of a multifield cosmological model in a spatially flat FLRW background geometry. The gravitational Action Integral consists of two scalar fields, the Brans-Dicke field and a second scalar field minimally coupled to gravity. However, the two scalar fields interact in the kinetic terms. This multifield has been found to describe the equivalent of hyperbolic inflation in the Jordan frame. The application of Noether's theorems constrain the free parameters of the model that conservation laws exist. We find that the field equations form an inte…
For the 11-dimensional supergravity over AdS_4 x S^7/Z_k, beginning with a general 4-from ansatz and the main geometry unchanged, we get a tower of massive and tachyonic pseudoscalars. Indeed, the resultant equations can be assigned to the so-called $ϕ^4$ actions of the non-minimally coupled scalar-tensor theories with a cosmological constant. We focus on a well-known tachyonic and a new massive bulk mode, which are singlet under the internal group and break all supersymmetries, associated with skew-whiffing and Wick-rotating of the background 4-from flux, respectively. The first one is the co…
The paper deals with a non--minimally coupled scalar field in the background of homogeneous but anisotropic Kantowski--Sachs space--time model. The form of the coupling function of the scalar field with gravity and the potential function of the scalar field are not assumed phenomenologically, rather they are evaluated by imposing Noether symmetry to the Lagrangian of the present physical system. The physical system gets considerable mathematical simplification by a suitable transformation of the augmented variables $(a, b, ϕ)\rightarrow (u, v, w)$ and by the use of the conserved quantities due…
For the non-tachyonic curvature squared action we show that the expanding Bianchi-type I models tend to the dust-filled Einstein-de Sitter model for t tending to infinity if the metric is averaged over the typical oscillation period. Applying a conformal equivalence between curvature squared action and a minimally coupled scalar field (which holds for all dimensions > 2) the problem is solved by discussing a massive scalar field in an anisotropic cosmological model.
This paper determines the existence of Noether symmetry in non-minimally coupled $f(R,T)$ gravity admitting minimal coupling with scalar field models. We consider a generalized spacetime which corresponds to different anisotropic and homogeneous universe models. We formulate symmetry generators along with conserved quantities through Noether symmetry technique for direct and indirect curvature-matter coupling. For dust and perfect fluids, we evaluate exact solutions and construct their cosmological analysis through some cosmological parameters. We conclude that decelerated expansion is obtaine…
Noether symmetry has been invoked to explore the forms of a couple of coupling parameters and the potential appearing in a general scalar-tensor theory of gravity in the background of Robertson-Walker space-time. Exact solutions of Einstein's field equations in the familiar Brans-Dicke, Induced gravity and a General non-minimally coupled scalar-tensor theories of gravity have been found using the conserved current and the energy equation, after being expressed in a set of new variables. Noticeably, the form of the scale factors remains unaltered in all the three cases and represents cosmologic…
This paper consists in analyzing an action that describes boson and fermion fields minimally coupled to the gravity and a common matter field. The self-interaction potentials of the fields are not chosen a priori but from the Noether symmetry approach. The Noether forms of the potentials allow the boson field to play the role of dark energy and matter and the fermion field to behave as standard matter. The constant of motion and the cyclic variable associated with the Noether symmetry allow the complete integration of the field equations, whose solution produces a Universe with alternated peri…
