Unique resonant normal forms for area preserving maps at an elliptic fixed point

We construct a resonant normal form for an area-preserving map near a generic resonant elliptic fixed point. The normal form is obtained by a simplification of a formal interpolating Hamiltonian. The resonant normal form is unique and therefore provides the formal local classification for area-preserving maps with the elliptic fixed point. The total number of formal invariants is infinite. We consider the cases of weak (of order $n\ge5$) and strong (of order $n=3,4$) resonances. We also construct unique normal forms for analytic families of area-preserving maps. We note that our constructions involve non-linear grading functions.

Normal forms for three-parametric families of area-preserving maps near an elliptic fixed point

We study dynamics of area-preserving maps in a neighbourhood of an elliptic fixed point. We describe simplified normal forms for a fixed point of co-dimension 3. We also construct normal forms for a generic three-parameter family which contains such degeneracy and use the normal form theory to describe generic bifurcations of periodic orbits in these families.

Simplified normal forms near a degenerate elliptic fixed point in two-parametric families of area-preserving maps

We derive simplified normal forms for an area-preserving map in a neighbourhood of a degenerate resonant elliptic fixed point. Such fixed points appear in generic two-parameter families of area-preserving maps. We also derive a simplified normal form for a generic two-parametric unfolding. The normal forms are used to analyse bifurcations of $n$-periodic orbits. In particular, for $n\ge6$ we find regions of parameters where the normal form has "meandering'' invariant curves.

Nonpersistence of resonant caustics in perturbed elliptic billiards

Caustics are curves with the property that a billiard trajectory, once tangent to it, stays tangent after every reflection at the boundary of the billiard table. When the billiard table is an ellipse, any nonsingular billiard trajectory has a caustic, which can be either a confocal ellipse or a confocal hyperbola. No elliptic islands for the universal area-preserving map

A renormalization approach has been used in \cite{EKW1} and \cite{EKW2} to prove the existence of a \textit{universal area-preserving map}, a map with hyperbolic orbits of all binary periods. The existence of a horseshoe, with positive Hausdorff dimension, in its domain was demonstrated in \cite{GJ1}. In this paper the coexistence problem is studied, and a computer-aided proof is given that no elliptic islands with period less than 20 exist in the domain. On dynamics and bifurcations of area-preserving maps with homoclinic tangencies

We study bifurcations of area-preserving maps, both orientable (symplectic) and non-orientable, with quadratic homoclinic tangencies. We consider one and two parameter general unfoldings and establish results related to the appearance of elliptic periodic orbits. In particular, we find conditions for such maps to have infinitely many generic (KAM-stable) elliptic periodic orbits of all successive periods starting at some number.

Double exponential stability for generic real-analytic elliptic equilibrium points

We consider the dynamics in a neighborhood of an elliptic equilibrium point with a Diophantine frequency of a symplectic real analytic vector field and we prove the following result of effective stability. Resonant spaces for volume preserving Anosov flows

We consider Anosov flows on closed 3-manifolds preserving a volume form $Ω$. Following Dyatlov and Zworski (2017) we study spaces of invariant distributions with values in the bundle of exterior forms whose wavefront set is contained in the dual of the unstable bundle. Minimal sets of non-resonant torus homeomorphisms

As was known to H. Poincare, an orientation preserving circle homeomorphism without periodic points is either minimal or has no dense orbits, and every orbit accumulates on the unique minimal set. In the first case the minimal set is the circle, in the latter case a Cantor set. In this paper we study a two-dimensional analogue of this classical result: we classify the minimal sets of non-resonant torus homeomorphisms; that is, torus homeomorphisms isotopic to the identity for which the rotation set is a point with rationally independent irrational coordinates.

A dichotomy in area-preserving reversible maps

In this paper we study R-reversible area-preserving maps f on a two-dimensional Riemannian closed manifold M, i.e. diffeomorphisms f such that Ro f=f^{-1}o R where R is an isometric involution on M. We obtain a C1-residual subset where any map inside it is Anosov or else has a dense set of elliptic periodic orbits. As a consequence we obtain the proof of the stability conjecture for this class of maps. Along the paper we also derive the C1-closing lemma for reversible maps and other perturbation toolboxes.

Non-integrability of measure preserving maps via Lie symmetries

We consider the problem of characterizing, for certain natural number $m$, the local $\mathcal{C}^m$-non-integrability near elliptic fixed points of smooth planar measure preserving maps. Our criterion relates this non-integrability with the existence of some Lie Symmetries associated to the maps, together with the study of the finiteness of its periodic points. Effective generic super-exponential stability of elliptic fixed points for symplectic vector fields

We consider linearly stable elliptic fixed points for a symplectic vector field and prove generic results of super-exponential stability for nearby solutions. Morbidelli and Giorgilli have proved a theorem of stability over super-exponentially long times if one consider an analytic lagrangian torus, invariant for an analytic hamiltonian system, with a diophantine translation vector which admit a sign definite torsion.
