The reconstruction of f(R)-gravity is showed by using an auxiliary scalar field in the context of cosmological evolution, this development provide a way of reconstruct the form of the function f (R) for a given evolution of the Hubble parameter. In analogy, f(R)-gravity may be expressed by a perfect fluid with an inhomogeneous equation of state that depends on the Hubble parameter and its derivatives. This mathematical equivalence that may confuse about the origin of the mechanism that produces the current acceleration, and possibly the whole evolution of the Hubble parameter, is shown here.
An occurrence of an oscillating Universe is showed using an inhomogeneous equation of state for dark energy fluid. The Hubble parameter described presents a periodic behavior such that early and late time acceleration are unified under the same mechanism. Also, it is considered a coupling between dark energy fluid, with homogeneous and constant EoS, and matter, that gives a periodic Universe too. The possible phantom phases and future singularities are studied in the oscillating Universe under discussion. The equivalent scalar-tensor representation for the same oscillating Universe is presente…
The dark energy universe equation of state (EOS) with inhomogeneous,Hubble parameter dependent term is considered. The motivation to introduce such a term comes from time-dependent viscosity considerations and modifications of general relativity. For several explicit examples of such EOS it is demonstrated how the type of future singularity changes, how the phantom epoch emerges and how crossing of phantom barrier occurs. Similar cosmological regimes are considered for the universe with two interacting fluids and for universe with implicit EOS. For instance, the crossing of phantom barrier is …
We suggest to generalize the dark energy equation of state (EoS) by introduction the relaxation equation for pressure which is equivalent to consideration of the inhomogeneous EoS cosmic fluid which often appears as the effective model from strings/brane-worlds. As another, more wide generalization we discuss the inhomogeneous EoS which contains derivatives of pressure. For several explicit examples motivated by the analogy with classical mechanics the accelerating FRW cosmology is constructed. It turns out to be the asymptotically de Sitter or oscillating universe with possible transition fro…
In this paper we consider a quintom model of dark energy with non-minimal coupling between scalar field and modified gravity which is known $f(R)$ gravity. The Lagrangian for scalar field has been inspired by tachyonic Lagrangian in string theory. Then we obtain the equation of state (EoS), and the condition required for the model parameters when $ω$ crosses over -1. This model shows that for having $ω$ across over -1, one doesn't need to add some higher derivative operator in the tachyonic part of action (the way that usually used to obtain crossing of the phantom divide line for EoS paramete…
In general relativity, for fluids with a linear equation of state (EoS) or scalar fields, the high isotropy of the universe requires special initial conditions, and singularities are anisotropic in general. In the brane world scenario anisotropy at the singularity is suppressed by an effective quadratic equation of state. There is no reason why the effective EoS of matter should be linear at the highest energies, and a non-linear EoS may describe dark energy or unified dark matter (Paper I, astro-ph/0512224). In view of this, here we study the effects of a quadratic EoS in homogenous and inhom…
In this paper, the model of interaction is studied between $f(T,\mathcal{T})$ gravity and modified Chaplygin gas in FRW-flat metric. We obtain the Friedmann equations in the framework of teleparallel gravity by vierbein field. We consider that Universe dominates by components of cold matter, dark energy and modified Chaplygin gas. In what follows we separately write the corresponding continuity equations for components of Universe. Also, dark energy EoS and effective EoS are obtained with respect to redshift, thereafter the corresponding cosmological parameters are plotted in terms of redshift…
Interest in cosmological singularities has remarkably grown in recent times, particularly on future singularities with the discovery of late-time acceleration of the universe and dark energy. While such explorations have previously been done in various modified gravity and quantum gravitationally inspired cosmologies (besides standard general relativistic cosmology), no such an endeavour has been taken up till now in the realms of renormalization group approaches to cosmology and we have hence took up on this journey. In this work, we consider the formation of cosmological singularities in an …
The cosmological constant problem is studied in a two component cosmological model. The universe contains a cosmological constant of an arbitrary size and sign and an additional component with an inhomogeneous equation of state. It is shown that, in a proper parameter regime, the expansion of the universe with a large absolute value of the cosmological constant may asymptotically tend to de Sitter space corresponding to a small effective positive cosmological constant. It is argued that such a behavior can be regarded as a solution of the cosmological constant problem in this model. The mechan…
In this paper we consider FRW cosmology in modified gravity which contain arbitrary functions $f(ϕ)$. It is shown that the bouncing solution appears in the model whereas the equation of state (EoS) parameter crosses the phantom divider. The reconstruction of the model is also investigated with the aim to reconstruct the arbitrary functions and variables of the model.
We prove the modified algebraic Bethe Ansatz characterization of the spectral problem for the closed XXX Heisenberg spin chain with an arbitrary twist and arbitrary positive (half)-integer spin at each site of the chain. We provide two basis to characterize the spectral problem and two families of inhomogeneous Baxter T-Q equations. The two families satisfy an inhomogeneous quantum Wronskian equation.
We investigate the future evolution of the dark energy universe in modified gravities including $F(R)$ gravity, string-inspired scalar-Gauss-Bonnet and modified Gauss-Bonnet ones, and ideal fluid with the inhomogeneous equation of state (EoS). Modified Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) dynamics for all these theories may be presented in universal form by using the effective ideal fluid with an inhomogeneous EoS without specifying its explicit form. We construct several examples of the modified gravity which produces accelerating cosmologies ending at the finite-time future singularity of all fo…
Neutron star models in perturbative $f(R)$ gravity are considered with realistic equations of state. In particular, we consider the FPS, SLy and other equations of state and a case of piecewise equation of state for stars with quark cores. The mass-radius relations for $f(R)=R+R(e^{-R/R_{0}}-1)$ model and for $R^2$ models with logarithmic and cubic corrections are obtained. In the case of $R^2$ gravity with cubic corrections, we obtain that at high central densities ($ρ>10ρ_{ns}$, where $ρ_{ns}=2.7\times 10^{14}$ g/cm$^{3}$ is the nuclear saturation density), stable star configurations exist. …
In this paper, we consider the Universe at the late stage of its evolution and deep inside the cell of uniformity. At these scales, the Universe is filled with inhomogeneously distributed discrete structures (galaxies, groups and clusters of galaxies). Supposing that the Universe contains also the cosmological constant and a perfect fluid with a negative constant equation of state (EoS) parameter $ω$ (e.g., quintessence, phantom or frustrated network of topological defects), we investigate scalar perturbations of the FRW metrics due to inhomogeneities. Our analysis shows that, to be compatible…
The Modified Chaplygin Gas (MCG) model belongs to the class of a unified models of dark energy (DE) and dark matter (DM). It is characterized by an equation of state (EoS) $p_c = Bρ- A/ρ^α$, where the case $B=0$ corresponds to the Generalized Chaplygin Gas (GCG) model. Using a perturbative analysis and power spectrum observational data we show that the MCG model is not a sucessful candidate for the cosmic medium unless $B=0$. In this case, it reduces to the usual GCG model.
The bouncing universe provides a possible solution to the Big Bang singularity problem. In this paper we study the bouncing solution in the universe dominated by the Quintom matter with an equation of state (EoS) crossing the cosmological constant boundary. We will show explicitly the analytical and numerical bouncing solutions in three types of models for the Quintom matter with an phenomenological EoS, the two scalar fields and a scalar field with a modified Born-Infeld action.
In this paper, we study Rényi holographic dark energy model in the context of Chern Simons (CS) modified gravity theory. Different cosmological parameters such as energy density, deceleration parameter, equation of state, square of sound speed and cosmological plane are discussed using FRW metric. Two separate solutions of CS field equations arose. The Rényi HDE model showed the transition from deceleration to acceleration phase which is fully consistent with the observational data while in the second case it represented a decelerated phase of expansion only. In fact, EoS illustrates the era o…
This article motivated by the recent articles and results of two authors. Recently, J. Sadeghi and H. Farahani presented a work [1], where they include viscosity and analyze general model, by this way they extended models considered by M. Khurshudyan [2] and [3]. In this article, We tempt to consider varying Modified Chaplygin gas model in case of variable $G$ and $Λ$. It is well known, that varying $G$ and $Λ$ gives rise to modified field equations and modified conservation laws. We will consider two different toy models. First model is a Universe with one component phenomenological gas of ou…
In the present paper, authors study the strange stars with the MIT Bag EoS admitting Buchdahl symmetry (non-singular and physically viable metric potential) in the both linear $f(Q)=aQ+b$ and non-linear $f(Q)=Q+aQ^b$ forms of modified symmetric teleparallel gravitation. In order to obtain the correct form of Buchdahl metric coefficients, they matched interior strange star spacetime with the exterior Schwarzschild vacuum spacetime. As a strange star candidate, PSRJ1416-2230 has been used with mass $M=1.69M_\odot$ and radius $R=9.69R_\odot$. For either linear and non-linear $f(Q)$ gravities, the…
We study the problem of the instability of inhomogeneous radiation universes in quadratic lagrangian theories of gravity written as a system of evolution equations with constraints. We construct formal series expansions and show that the resulting solutions have a smaller number of arbitrary functions than that required in a general solution. These results continue to hold for more general polynomial extensions of general relativity.
Conditions for the existence and stability of de Sitter space in modified gravity are derived by considering inhomogeneous perturbations in a gauge-invariant formalism. The stability condition coincides with the corresponding condition for stability with respect to homogeneous perturbations, while this is not the case in scalar-tensor gravity. The stability criterion is applied to various modified gravity models of the early and the present universe.
Within the context of modified gravity and dark energy scenarios of the accelerating universe, we study the stability of de Sitter space with respect to inhomogeneous perturbations using a gauge-independent formalism. In modified gravity the stability condition is exactly the same that one obtains from a homogeneous perturbation analysis, while the stability condition in scalar-tensor gravity is more restrictive.
Modified gravity has garnered interest as a backstop against dark matter and dark energy (DE). As one possible modification, the graviton can become massive, which introduces a new scalar field - here with a Galileon-type symmetry. The field can lead to a nontrivial equation of state (EOS) of DE which is density-and-scale-dependent. Tension between Type Ia supernovae and Planck could be reduced. In voids the scalar field dramatically alters the EOS of DE, induces a soon-observable gravitational slip between the two metric potentials, and develops a topological defect (domain wall) due to a non…
We review various modified gravities considered as gravitational alternative for dark energy. Specifically, we consider the versions of $f(R)$, $f(G)$ or $f(R,G)$ gravity, model with non-linear gravitational coupling or string-inspired model with Gauss-Bonnet-dilaton coupling in the late universe where they lead to cosmic speed-up. It is shown that some of such theories may pass the Solar System tests. On the same time, it is demonstrated that they have quite rich cosmological structure: they may naturally describe the effective (cosmological constant, quintessence or phantom) late-time era wi…
We consider a class of metric f(R) modified gravity theories, analyze them in the context of a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker cosmology and confront the results with some of the known constraints imposed by observations. In particular, we focus in correctly reproducing the matter and effective cosmological constant eras, the age of the Universe, and supernovae data. Our analysis differs in many respects from previous studies. First, we avoid any transformation to a scalar-tensor theory in order to be exempted of any potential pathologies (e.g. multivalued scalar potentials) and also to evade any u…
