We consider a D=4 two-twistor lagrangian for a massive particle that incorporates the mass-shell condition in an algebraic way, and extend it to a two-supertwistor model with N=2 supersymmetry and central charge identified with the mass. In the purely supertwistorial picture the two D=4 supertwistors are coupled through a Wess-Zumino term in their fermionic sector. We demonstrate how the kappa-gauge symmetry appears in the purely supertwistorial formulation and reduces by half the fermionic degrees of freedom of the two supertwistors; a formulation of the model in terms of kappa-invariant degrees of freedom is also obtained. We show that the kappa-invariant supertwistor coordinates can be obtained by dimensional (D=6 -> D=4) reduction from a D=6 supertwistor. We derive as well by 6 -> 4 reduction the N=2, D=4 massive superparticle model with Wess-Zumino term introduced in 1982. Finally, we comment on general superparticle models constructed with more than two supertwistors.
Supertwistors relevant to $AdS_5\times S^5$ superbackground of IIB supergravity are studied in the framework of the $D=10$ massless superparticle model in the first-order formulation. Product structure of the background suggests using $D=1+4$ Lorentz-harmonic variables to express momentum components tangent to $AdS_5$ and $D=5$ harmonics to express momentum components tangent to $S^5$ that yields eight-supertwistor formulation of the superparticle's Lagrangian. We find incidence relations of the supertwistors with the $AdS_5\times S^5$ superspace coordinates and the set of the quadratic constr…
Starting with the first-order formulation of the massless superparticle model on the $AdS_5\times S^5$ superbackground and presenting the momentum components tangent to $AdS_5$ and $S^5$ subspaces as bilinear combinations of the constrained $SU(2)$-Majorana spinors allows to bring the superparticle's Lagrangian to the form quadratic in supertwistors. The $SU(2,2|4)$ supertwistors are assembled into a pair of $SU(2)$ doublets, one of which has even $SU(2,2)$ and odd $SU(4)$ components, while the other has odd $SU(2,2)$ and even $SU(4)$ components. They are subject to the first-class constraints…
The massive six-dimensional (6D) superparticle with manifest (n,0) supersymmetry is shown to have a supertwistor formulation in which its "hidden" (0,n) supersymmetry is also manifest. The mass-shell constraint is replaced by Spin(5) spin-shell constraints which imply that the quantum superparticle has zero superspin, for n=1 it propagates the 6D Proca supermultiplet.
Using known relation between $SU(2,2|4)$ supertwistors and $SU(2)$ bosonic and fermionic oscillators we identify the physical states of quantized massless $AdS_5\times S^5$ superparticle in supertwistor formulation and discuss how they fit into the spectrum of fluctuations of IIB supergravity on $AdS_5\times S^5$ superbackground.

The two-twistor formulation of particle mechanics in D-dimensional anti-de Sitter space for D=4,5,7, which linearises invariance under the AdS isometry group Sp(4;K) for K=R,C,H, is generalized to the massless N-extended "spinning particle". The twistor variables are gauge invariant with respect to the initial N local worldline supersymmetries; this simplifies aspects of the quantum theory such as implications of global gauge anomalies. We also give details of the two-supertwistor form of the superparticle, in particular the massive superparticle on AdS_5.
We consider the Hamiltonian reduction and canonical quantization of a massive AdS$_2$ superparticle realized on the coset OSP(1|2)/SO(1,1). The phase space of the massive superparticle is represented as a coadjoint orbit of a timelike element of $\mathfrak{osp}$(1|2). This orbit has a well defined symplectic structure and the OSP(1|2) symmetry is realized as the Poisson bracket algebra of the Noether charges. We then construct canonical coordinates given by one bosonic and one fermionic oscillator, whose quantization leads to the Holstein-Primakoff type realization of $\mathfrak{osp}$(1|2). We…
A variant for the superspin one-half massive superparticle in $ 4D $, $ \mathcal{N}=1 $, based on Dirac superfields, is offered. As opposed to the current known models that use spinor chiral superfields, the propagating fields of the supermultiplet are those of the lowest mass dimensions possible: scalar, Dirac and vector fields. Besides the supersymmetric chiral condition, the Dirac superfields are not further constrained, allowing a very straightforward implementation of the path-integral method. The corresponding superpropagators are presented. In addition, an interaction super Yukawa poten…
We analyze ${\rm AdS}_3$ superparticle dynamics on the coset ${\rm OSP}(1|2) \times {\rm OSP}(1|2)/{\rm SL}(2,\mathbb{R})$. The system is quantized in canonical coordinates obtained by gauge invariant Hamiltonian reduction. The left and right Noether charges of a massive particle are parametrized by coadjoint orbits of a timelike element of $\frak{osp}(1|2)$. Each chiral sector is described by two bosonic and two fermionic canonical coordinates corresponding to a superparticle with superpotential $W=q-m/q$, where $m$ is the particle mass. Canonical quantization then provides a quantum realizat…
