Due to the nonvanishing average photon population of the squeezed vacuum state, finite corrections to the scattering matrix are obtained. The lowest order contribution to the electron mass shift for a one mode squeezed vacuum state is given by $δm(Ω,s)/m=α(2/π)(Ω/m)^2\sinh^2(s)$, where $Ω$ and $s$ stand for the mode frequency and the squeeze parameter and $α$ for the fine structure constant, respectively. The correction to the anomalous magnetic moment of the electron is $δa_e(s)=-(4α/π)\sinh^2(s)$.
This paper presents a new method of numerical computation of the QED contributions to the electron anomalous magnetic moment which arises from Feynman graphs containing electron and photon lines and not containing electron loops. The method consists of two parts. The first part is the forest-like subtraction formula that removes all ultraviolet and infrared divergences in each Feynman graph point-by-point in Feynman-parametric space. The second part is the importance sampling Monte-Carlo algorithm with the probability density function that is constructed for each Feynman graph individually. Th…
A new subtraction procedure for removal both ultraviolet and infrared divergences in Feynman integrals is proposed. This method is developed for computation of QED corrections to the electron anomalous magnetic moment. The procedure is formulated in the form of a forest formula with linear operators that are applied to Feynman amplitudes of UV-divergent subgraphs. The contribution of each Feynman graph that contains propagators of electrons and photons is represented as a finite Feynman-parametric integral. Application of the developed method to the calculation of 2-loop and 3-loop contributio…
We show that supersymmetry Ward identities contain an anomalous term which takes the form of a surface term in Hilbert space. In the one-instanton sector the anomalous term is the integral of a total rho-derivative where rho is the instanton's size. There are cases where the anomalous term is non-zero, and cannot be modified by subtractions. This constitutes a supersymmetry anomaly. The derivation is based on Feynman rules suitable for any non-perturbative sector of a weakly-coupled, renormalizable gauge theory.
We discuss dispersion representations for the triangle diagram $F(p_1^2,p_2^2,q^2)$, the single dispersion representation in $q^2$ and the double dispersion representation in $p_1^2$ and $p_2^2$, with special emphasis on the appearance of the anomalous singularities and the anomalous cuts in these representations.
We focus on a non-abelian gauge field coupled to a single (but general) representation of a family of Nf fermions. By using the same machinery that had allowed us to evaluate the sub-leading large-Nf term of the five-loop Beta function earlier, we here report on a confirmation of the all-Nf result that has in the meantime been published by another group. Furthermore, in order to push forward the 5-loop renormalization program regarding gauge parameter dependence, we present the linear terms of the complete set of anomalous dimensions, in an expansion in the covariant gauge parameter around the…
Preliminary numerical results of calculating the 5-loop QED contributions to the electron (and muon) anomalous magnetic moment are presented. The results include the total contribution of the 5-loop Feynman diagrams without lepton loops and the contributions of nine gauge-invariant classes that form that set. A discrepancy with known results is revealed. The contributions of the gauge-invariant classes are presented for the first time. The method of the computation is briefly described (with the corresponding references). The calculation is based on the following elements: 1) a subtraction pro…
This paper describes a computation of a part of the QED contribution to the electron anomalous magnetic moment that was performed by the author with the help of a supercomputer. The computed part includes all 5-loop QED Feynman graphs without lepton loops. The calculation has led to the result $A_1^{(10)}[\text{no lepton loops}]=6.793(90)$ that is slightly different than the value $7.668(159)$ presented by T. Aoyama, T. Kinoshita, and M. Nio in 2018. The discrepancy is about $4.8σ$. The computation gives the first independent check for that value. A shift in the fine-structure constant predict…
Two-loop electroweak corrections to the electron, muon, and tau lepton anomalous magnetic moments have been computed recently. Effects of hadronic contributions to the photon propagator in two-loop QED corrections have also been reanalysed. The common technique used in both calculations was asymptotic expansion of Feynman diagrams in the ratio of lepton mass to some heavy mass scale. In this talk we present some details of this method paying particular attention to the expansion of multi-scale diagrams.

The soft anomalous dimension governs the infrared singularities of scattering amplitudes to all orders in perturbative quantum field theory, and is a crucial ingredient in both formal and phenomenological applications of non-abelian gauge theories. It has recently been computed at three-loop order for massless partons by explicit evaluation of all relevant Feynman diagrams. In this paper, we show how the same result can be obtained, up to an overall numerical factor, using a bootstrap procedure. We first give a geometrical argument for the fact that the result can be expressed in terms of sing…
We address the subject of chiral anomalies in two and four dimensional theories. Ambiguities associated with the $γ_5$ algebra within divergent integrals are identified, even though the physical dimension is not altered in the process of regularization. We present a minimal prescription that leads to unique results and apply it to a series of examples. For the particular case of abelian theories with effective chiral vertices, we show: 1- Its implication on the way to display the anomalies democratically in the Ward identities. 2- The possibility to fix an arbitrary surface term in such a way …
On-shell amplitude methods allow to derive one-loop renormalization effects from just tree-level amplitudes, with no need of loop calculations. We derive a simple formula to obtain the anomalous dimensions of higher-dimensional operators from a product of tree-level amplitudes. We show how this works for dimension-6 operators of the Standard Model, providing explicit examples of the simplicity, elegance and efficiency of the method. Many anomalous dimensions can be calculated from the same Standard Model tree-level amplitude, displaying the attractive recycling aspect of the on-shell method. W…
It is shown that parity operator plays an interesting role in Dirac equation in (1+2) dimensions and can be used for defining chiral currents. It is shown that the "anomalous" current induced by an external gauge field can be related to the anomalous divergence of an axial vector current which arises due to quantum radiative corrections provided by triangular loop Feynman diagrams in analogy with the corresponding axial anomaly in (1+3) dimensions. It is shown that the non-conservation of "chiral charge" due to anomaly is related with the topological Chern-Simons charge. As an application pair…
There is evidence for existence of massless Dirac quasi-particles in graphene, which satisfy Dirac equation in (1+2) dimensions near the so called Dirac points which lie at the corners at the graphene's brilluoin zone. It is shown that parity operator in (1+2) dimensions play an interesting role and can be used for defining conserved chiral currents [there is no gamma^5 in (1+2) dimensions]. It is shown that the "anomalous" current induced by an external gauge field can be related to the anomalous divergence of an axial vector current which arises due to quantum radiative corrections provided …
