Motivated by recent interest in the spectrum of the Laplacian of incomplete surfaces with isolated conical singularities, we consider more general incomplete m-dimensional manifolds with singularities on sets of codimension at least 2. With certain restrictions on the metric, we establish that the spectrum is discrete and satisfies Weyl's asymptotic formula.

On Weyl-reducible conformal manifolds and lcK structures

A recent result of M. Kourganoff states that if $D$ is a closed, reducible, non-flat, Weyl connection on a compact conformal manifold $M$, then the universal covering of $M$, endowed with the metric whose Levi-Civita covariant derivative is the pull-back of $D$, is isometric to $\mathbb{R}^q\times N$ for some irreducible, incomplete Riemannian manifold $N$. Moreover, he characterized the case where the dimension of $N$ is $2$ by showing that $M$ is then a mapping torus of some Anosov diffeomorphism of $T^{q+1}$. We show that in this case one necessarily has $q=1$ or $q=2$.

Bochner type formulas for the Weyl tensor on four dimensional Einstein manifolds

The very definition of an Einstein metric implies that all its geometry is encoded in the Weyl tensor. With this in mind, in this paper we derive higher-order Bochner type formulas for the Weyl tensor on a four dimensional Einstein manifold. In particular, we prove a second Bochner type formula which, formally, extends to the covariant derivative level the classical one for the Weyl tensor obtained by Derdzinski in 1983. As a consequence, we deduce some integral identities involving the Weyl tensor and its derivatives on a compact four dimensional Einstein manifold.

A general Weyl-type Integration Formula for Isometric Group Actions

We show that integration over a $G$-manifold $M$ can be reduced to integration over a minimal section $Σ$ with respect to an induced weighted measure and integration over a homogeneous space $G/N$. We relate our formula to integration formulae for polar actions and calculate some weight functions. Variations of Weyl's tube formula

In 1939 Weyl showed that the volume of spherical tubes around compact submanifolds M of Euclidean space depends solely on the induced Riemannian metric on M. Can this intrinsic nature of the tube volume be preserved for tubes with more general cross sections D than the round ball? Under sufficiently strong symmetry conditions on D the answer turns out to be yes.

Spectral and Hodge theory of `Witt' incomplete cusp edge spaces

Incomplete cusp edges model the behavior of the Weil-Petersson metric on the compactified Riemann moduli space near the interior of a divisor. Assuming such a space is Witt, we construct a fundamental solution to the heat equation, and using a precise description of its asymptotic behavior at the singular set, we prove that the Hodge-Laplacian on differential forms is essentially self-adjoint, with discrete spectrum satisfying Weyl asymptotics. Adiabatic limits and noncommutative Weyl formula

We discuss asymptotic behavior of the eigenvalue distribution of the differential form Laplacian on a Riemannian foliated manifold when the metric on the ambient manifold is blown up in directions normal to the leaves (in the adiabatic limit). Motivated by analogies with semiclassical spectral asymptotics, we use ideas and notions of noncommutative geometry to suggest a conjectural formula for the eigenvalue distribution in the adiabatic limit, which we call noncommutative Weyl formula. We review known results and discuss the correctness of the noncommutative Weyl formula in each case.

Harish-Chandra's volume formula via Weyl's Law and Euler-Maclaurin formula

Harish-Chandra's volume formula shows that the volume of a flag manifold $G/T$, where the measure is induced by an invariant inner product on the Lie algebra of $G$, is determined up to a scalar by the algebraic properties of $G$. On Closed Manifolds with Harmonic Weyl Curvature

We derive point-wise and integral rigidity/gap results for a closed manifold with harmonic Weyl curvature in any dimension. In particular, there is a generalization of Tachibana's theorem for non-negative curvature operator. The key ingredients are new Bochner-Weitzenböck-Lichnerowicz type formulas for the Weyl tensor, which are generalizations of identities in dimension four.

Weyl formulae for Schrödinger operators with critically singular potentials

We obtain generalizations of classical versions of the Weyl formula involving Schrödinger operators $H_V=-Δ_g+V(x)$ on compact boundaryless Riemannian manifolds with critically singular potentials $V$.
