A topological sigma model based on the pure spinor formalism was recently proposed for the small radius limit of the AdS_5xS^5 superstring. Physical states in this model can be constructed by connecting holes on the worldsheet with Wilson lines of the worldsheet gauge field. The contribution of these states to the topological amplitude is claimed to reproduce the usual Feynman diagram expansion of gauge-invariant super-Yang-Mills correlation functions.
We study the reduction of the (bosonic) string sigma model on $AdS_4\times\cp$ background. We give a brief presentation of the reduction procedure for $AdS$ part and apply explicitly the reduction scheme to $\cp$ part of the model. A brief discussion and directions for further study are presented.
We present homogeneous Yang-Baxter deformations of the AdS$_5\times$S$^5$ supercoset sigma model as boundary conditions of a 4D Chern-Simons theory. We first generalize the procedure for the 2D principal chiral model developed by Delduc et al [arXiv:1909.13824] so as to reproduce the 2D symmetric coset sigma model, and specify boundary conditions governing homogeneous Yang-Baxter deformations. Then the conditions are applicable for the AdS$_5\times$S$^5$ supercoset sigma model case as well. In addition, homogeneous bi-Yang-Baxter deformation is also discussed.
We compute one-loop S-matrix in the reduced sigma-model which describes AdS_5 x S^5 string theory in the near-flat-space limit. The result agrees with the corresponding limit of the S-matrix in the full sigma-model, which demonstrates the consistency of the reduction at the quantum level.
Recently, a gauged linear sigma model was proposed by Berkovits and Vafa which can be used to describe the AdS_5xS^5 superstring at finite and zero radius. In this paper we show that the model is classically integrable by constructing its first non-local conserved charge and a superspace Lax "quartet". Quantum conservation of the non-local charge follows easily from superspace rules.
In this note we consider a fermionic T-duality of the coset realization of the type IIA sigma-model on AdS_4 \times CP^3 with respect to the three flat directions in AdS_4, six of the fermionic coordinates and three of the CP^3 directions. We show that the Buscher procedure fails as it leads to a singular transformation and discuss the result and its implications.
We construct the most general N=2 supersymmetric nonlinear sigma-model in four-dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS) space in terms of N=1 chiral superfields. The target space is shown to be a non-compact hyperkahler manifold restricted to possess a special Killing vector field. A remarkable property of the sigma-model constructed is that the algebra of OSp(2|4) transformations is closed off the mass shell.
We evaluate the 4-point function of the auxiliary field in the critical O(N) sigma model at O(1/N) and show that it describes the exchange of tensor currents of arbitrary even rank l>0. These are dual to tensor gauge fields of the same rank in the AdS theory, which supports the recent hypothesis of Klebanov and Polyakov. Their couplings to two auxiliary fields are also derived.
We study the Penrose limit of a supersymmetric IIB background, with non-trivial NS 3-form field strength, obtaining a solution with the smallest number of supercharges (i.e. 16) allowed; we write down explicitly the superalgebra of the theory, build the supersymmetric associated IIB string sigma model and make conjectures on the dual gauge theory.
We analyze cubic spin 3 interaction in AdS space using the higher spin extension of string-theoretic sigma-model constructed in our previous work, which low energy limit is described by AdS vacuum. We find that, in the leading order of the cosmological constant, the spin 3 correlator on the AdS4 string theory side reproduces the structure of 3 point function of composite operators, quadratic in free fields, in the dual vector model. The cancellation of terms violating higher spin holography is related to the value of the Liouville background charge in four dimensions.
We present a detailed study of the most general N=2 supersymmetric sigma models in four-dimensional anti-de Sitter space AdS_4 formulated in terms of N=1 chiral superfields. The target space is demonstrated to be a non-compact hyperkahler manifold restricted to possess a special Killing vector field which generates an SO(2) group of rotations on the two-sphere of complex structures and necessarily leaves one of them invariant. All hyperkahler cones, that is the target spaces of N=2 superconformal sigma models, prove to possess such a vector field that belongs to the Lie algebra of an isometry …
The $b$-ghost of the pure spinor formalism in a general curved background is not holomorphic. For such theories, the construction of the string measure requires the knowledge of the action of diffeomorphisms on the BV phase space. We construct such an action for the pure spinor sigma-model in $AdS_5\times S^5$. From the point of view of the BV formalism, this sigma-model belongs to the class of theories where the expansion of the Master Action in antifields terminates at the quadratic order. We show that it can be reduced to a simpler degenerate sigma-model, preserving the AdS symmetries. We c…
We study the fermionic T-duality symmetry of integrable Green-Schwarz sigma models on AdS backgrounds. We show that the sigma model on $AdS_5\times S^1$ background is self-dual under fermionic T-duality. We also construct new integrable sigma models on $AdS_2\times CP^n$. These backgrounds could be realized as supercosets of SU supergroups for arbitrary $n$, but could also be realized as supercosets of OSp supergroups for $n=1,3$. We find that the supercosets based on SU supergroups are self-dual under fermionic T-duality, while the supercosets based on OSp supergroups are not. However, the re…
We define Landau-Lifshitz sigma models on general coset space $G/H$, with $H$ a maximal stability sub-group of $G$. These are non-relativistic models that have $G$-valued Nöther charges, local $H$ invariance and are classically integrable. Using this definition, we construct the $PSU(2,2|4)/PS(U(2|2)^2)$ Landau-Lifshitz sigma-model. This sigma model describes the thermodynamic limit of the spin-chain Hamiltonian obtained from the complete one-loop dilatation operator of the N=4 super Yang-Mills (SYM) theory. In the second part of the paper, we identify a number of consistent truncations of the…
There exist two superspace approaches to describe N=2 supersymmetric nonlinear sigma models in four-dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS_4) space: (i) in terms of N=1 AdS chiral superfields, as developed in arXiv:1105.3111 and arXiv:1108.5290; and (ii) in terms of N=2 polar supermultiplets using the AdS projective-superspace techniques developed in arXiv:0807.3368. The virtue of the approach (i) is that it makes manifest the geometric properties of the N=2 supersymmetric sigma-models in AdS_4. The target space must be a non-compact hyperkahler manifold endowed with a Killing vector field which gene…
This review is devoted to the classical integrability of the AdS5xS5 superstring theory. It starts with a reminder of the corresponding action as a coset model. The symmetries of this action are then reviewed. The classical integrability is then considered from the lagrangian and hamiltonian points of view. The second part of this review deals with the gauge fixing of this theory. Finally, some aspects of the pure spinor formulation are also briefly reviewed.
In three-dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS) space, there exist several realizations of N-extended supersymmetry, which are traditionally labelled by two non-negative integers p>=q such that p+q=N. Different choices of p and q, with N fixed, prove to lead to different restrictions on the target space geometry of supersymmetric nonlinear sigma-models. We classify all possible types of hyperkahler target spaces for the cases N=3 and N=4 by making use of two different realizations for the most general (p,q) supersymmetric sigma-models: (i) off-shell formulations in terms of N=3 and N=4 projective su…
According to the recent proposal by Aharony, Bergman, Jafferis and Maldacena the N=6 supersymmetric Chern-Simons theory in three dimensions has a 't Hooft limit whose holographic dual is described by type IIA superstings on AdS_4 x CP^3 background. We argue that the Green-Schwarz action for type IIA string theory on AdS_4 x CP^3 with kappa-symmetry partially fixed can be understood as a coset sigma-model on the same space supplied with a proper Wess-Zumino term. We construct the corresponding sigma-model Lagrangian and show that it is invariant under a local fermionic symmetry which for generi…
We propose that the Yang-Baxter deformation of the symmetric space sigma-model parameterized by an r-matrix solving the homogeneous (classical) Yang-Baxter equation is equivalent to the non-abelian dual of the undeformed model with respect to a subgroup determined by the structure of the r-matrix. We explicitly demonstrate this on numerous examples in the case of the AdS_5 sigma-model. The same should also be true for the full AdS_5 x S^5 supercoset model, providing an explanation for and generalizing several recent observations relating homogeneous Yang-Baxter deformations based on non-abelia…
Using the pure spinor formalism, a quantizable sigma model has been constructed for the superstring in an AdS_5 x S^5 background with manifest PSU(2,2|4) invariance. The PSU(2,2|4) metric g_{AB} has both vector components g_{ab} and spinor components g_{alpha beta}, and in the limit where the spinor components g_{alpha beta} are taken to infinity, the AdS_5 x S^5 sigma model reduces to the worldsheet action in a flat background. In this paper, we instead consider the limit where the vector components g_{ab} are taken to infinity. In this limit, the AdS_5 x S^5 sigma model simplifies to a topol…
It is shown that the large $N$ limit of SU(N) YM in $curved$ $m$-dim backgrounds can be subsumed by a higher $m+n$ dimensional gravitational theory which can be identified to an $m$-dim generally invariant gauge theory of diffs $N$, where $N$ is an $n$-dim internal space (Cho, Sho, Park, Yoon). Based on these findings, a very plausible geometrical interpretation of the $AdS/CFT$ correspondence could be given. Conformally invariant sigma models in $D=2n$ dimensions with target non-compact SO(2n,1) groups are reviewed. Despite the non-compact nature of the SO(2n,1), the classical action and Hami…
The gravity dual of $β$-deformed ABJM theory can be obtained by a TsT transformation of $AdS_4\times\mathbb{CP}^3$. We present a supercoset construction of $\mathbb{CP}^3$ to obtain this gravity dual theory as a Yang-Baxter deformation. This is done by selecting a convenient combination of Cartan generators in order to get an Abelian $r$-matrix satisfying the classical Yang-Baxter equation. Our results provide another illustration of the relation between Abelian $r$-matrices and TsT transformations.
The three-point functions of two scalar fields $σ$ and the higher spin field $h^{(\ell)}$ of HS(4) on the one side and of their proposed holographic images $α$ and $\mathcal{J^{(\ell)}}$ of the minimal conformal O(N) sigma model of dimension three on the other side are evaluated at leading perturbative order and compared in order to fix the coupling constant of HS(4). This necessitates a careful analysis of the local current $Ψ^{(\ell)}$ to which $h^{(\ell)}$ couples in HS(4) and which is bilinear in $σ$.
We introduce N-extended (p,q) AdS superspaces in three space-time dimensions, with p+q=N and p>=q, and analyse their geometry. We show that all (p,q) AdS superspaces with X^{IJKL}=0 are conformally flat. Nonlinear sigma-models with (p,q) AdS supersymmetry exist for p+q<=4 (for N>4 the target space geometries are highly restricted). Here we concentrate on studying off-shell N=3 supersymmetric sigma-models in AdS_3. For each of the cases (3,0) and (2,1), we give three different realisations of the supersymmetric action. We show that (3,0) AdS supersymmetry requires the sigma-model to be supercon…
We consider two integrable deformations of 2d sigma models on supercosets associated with AdS_n x S^n. The first, the "eta-deformation" (based on the Yang-Baxter sigma model), is a one-parameter generalization of the standard superstring action on AdS_n x S^n, while the second, the "lambda-deformation" (based on the deformed gauged WZW model), is a generalization of the non-abelian T-dual of the AdS_n x S^n superstring. We show that the eta-deformed model may be obtained from the lambda-deformed one by a special scaling limit and analytic continuation in coordinates combined with a particular …
Higher spin field theory on AdS(4) is defined by lifting the minimal conformal sigma model in three dimensional flat space. This allows to calculate the masses from the anomalous dimensions of the currents in the sigma model. The Goldstone boson field can be identified
Vertex operators in string theory come in two varieties: integrated and unintegrated. Understanding both types is important for the calculation of the string theory amplitudes. The relation between them is a descent procedure typically involving the b-ghost. In the pure spinor formalism vertex operators can be identified as cohomology classes of an infinite-dimensional Lie superalgebra formed by covariant derivatives. We show that in this language the construction of the integrated vertex from an unintegrated vertex is very straightforward, and amounts to the evaluation of the cocycle on the g…
Asymptotic behavior of the anomalous dimensions of Wilson operators with high spin and twist is governed in planar N=4 SYM theory by the scaling function which coincides at strong coupling with the energy density of a two-dimensional bosonic O(6) sigma model. We calculate this function by combining the two-loop correction to the energy density for the O(n) model with two-loop correction to the mass gap determined by the all-loop Bethe ansatz in N=4 SYM theory. The result is in agreement with the prediction coming from the thermodynamical limit of the quantum string Bethe ansatz equations, but …
We construct the supersymmetric nonlinear sigma model in a fixed AdS_5 background. We use component fields and find that the complex bosons must be the coordinates of a hyper-Kahler manifold that admits a Killing vector satisfying an inhomogeneous tri-holomorphic condition. We propose boundary conditions that map the on-shell bulk hypermultiplets into off-shell chiral multiplets on 3-branes that foliate the bulk. The supersymmetric AdS_5 isometries reduce to superconformal transformations on the brane fields.
We calculate the one loop beta function for the would-be marginal coupling on the world sheet of the k deformed sigma models associated to a quantum group with q=exp(i pi/k). This includes the bosonic principal chiral models and symmetric space sigma models but also the k deformed semi-symmetric space sigma model describing strings in a deformation of AdS_5 x S^5. The world sheet sigma model is a current-current deformation of the gauged WZW model for the supergroup PSU(2,2|4) with level k. In the string theory context the beta function is shown to vanish because of the vanishing of the Killin…
We study fermionic T-duality symmetries of integrable Green-Schwarz sigma-models on Anti-de-Sitter backgrounds with Ramond-Ramond fluxes, constructed as Z_4 supercosets of superconformal algebras. We find three algebraic conditions that guarantee self-duality of the backgrounds under fermionic T-duality, we classify those that satisfy them and construct the map of the monodromy matrix. We introduce new T-duality directions, where some of them contain no bosonic directions, along which the backgrounds are self-dual. We find that the only self-dual backgrounds are AdS_n x S^n for n=2,3,5. In add…
We construct topological Wess-Zumino term for supercoset sigma-models on various AdS(3) backgrounds. For appropriately chosen set of parameters, the sigma-model remains integrable when the Wess-Zumino term is added to the action. Moreover, the conditions for integrability, kappa-symmetry and conformal invariance are equivalent to each other.
We consider two-dimensional nonlinear sigma model from the viewpoint of the holography, which has been applied to the study of the Yang-Mills theory, based on the non-critical string theory. We can see the renormalization group flows for both the nonlinear sigma model and the Yang-Mills theory at the same time, and the two theories are intimately related through a kind of dual relation of the coupling constants. We address the running behaviors of these coupling constants and also the asymptotic freedom of the Yang-Mills theory.
We consider the AdS_4 x CP^3 IIA superstring sigma-model in the background of the "spinning string" classical solution, which possesses two Noether spins. In the limit when one of the spins is infinite there are massless excitations, which govern the infrared worldsheet properties of the model. We obtain a sigma-model of CP^3 with fermions, which describes the dynamics of these massless modes.
Spin-charge separation in pure SU(2) Yang-Mills theory was recently found to involve the dynamics of an O(3) non-linear sigma model and, seemingly, a Grassmannian non-linear sigma model. In this article we explicitly construct the Grassmannian sigma model of the form appearing in the the spin-charge separated SU(2) theory through a quaternionic decomposition of the manifold, thus verifying its relevance in this context. The coupling between this model and the O(3) non-linear sigma model is further commented upon.
Homogeneous Yang-Baxter (YB) deformation of AdS$_5\times$S$^5$ superstring is revisited. We calculate the YB sigma model action up to quadratic order in fermions and show that homogeneous YB deformations are equivalent to $β$-deformations of the AdS$_5\times$S$^5$ background when the classical $r$-matrices consist of bosonic generators. In order to make our discussion clearer, we discuss YB deformations in terms of the double-vielbein formalism of double field theory. We further provide an O(10,10)-invariant string action that reproduces the Green-Schwarz type II superstring action up to quadr…
We construct integrability preserving boundary conditions for Green-Schwarz sigma-models on semi-symmetric spaces. The boundary conditions are expressed as gluing conditions of the flat-connection, using an involutive metric preserving automorphism. We show that the boundary conditions preserve half of the space-time supersymmetry and an infinite set of conserved charges. We find integrable D-brane configurations for AdS_5 x S^5 and AdS_4 x CP^3 backgrounds.
Motivated by a desire to find a useful 2d Lorentz-invariant reformulation of the AdS_5 x S^5 superstring world-sheet theory in terms of physical degrees of freedom we construct the Pohlmeyer-reduced version of the corresponding sigma model. The Pohlmeyer reduction procedure involves several steps. Starting with a coset space string sigma model in the conformal gauge and writing the classical equations in terms of currents one can fix the residual conformal diffeomorphism symmetry and kappa-symmetry and introduce a new set of variables (related locally to currents but non-locally to the origina…
Following a previous work on Abelian (2,0)-gauge theories, one reassesses here the task of coupling (2,0) relaxed Yang-Mills super-potentials to a (2,0)-nonlinear Sigma-model, by gauging the isotropy or the isometry group of the latter. One pays special attention to the extra "chiral-like" component-field gauge potential that comes out from the relaxation of constraints.
A higher spin field theory on AdS(4) possesses a conformal field theory on the boundary R(3) which can be identified with the critical O(N) sigma model of O(N) invariant fields only. The notions of quasiprimary and secondary fields can be carried over to the AdS theory. If de Donder's gauge is applied, the traceless part of the higher spin field on AdS(4) is quasiprimary and the Goldstone fields are quasiprimary fields to leading order, too. Those fields corresponding to the Goldstone fields in the critical O(N) sigma model are odd rank symmetric tensor currents which vanish in the free field …
Using the reduction of the string sigma model to the 1-d Neumann integrable model we reconstruct the closed string solution with two equal spins in AdS_5 which is specified by the number of round arcs and one winding number. From the string sigma model itself as well as its reducion to the Neumann-Rosochatius system we construct a spiky string solution with two unequal spins in AdS_5 whose ratio is fixed and derive its energy-spin relation. The string configuration is characterized by the number of spikes and two equal winding numbers associated with the two rotating angular directions.
Basing upon experience from performing double-dimensional reduction of the D=11 supermembrane on AdS_4 x S^7 background to Type IIA superstring on AdS_4 x CP^3 we introduce Kaluza-Klein (partial) kappa-symmetry gauge as a vanishing condition of the contribution to the D=11 supervielbein components tangent to D=10 space-time proportional to the differential of the coordinate parametrizing compact 11-th space-time dimension, that is identified with the supermembrane world-volume compact dimension. For AdS_4 x S^7 supermembrane Kaluza-Klein gauge removes half Grassmann coordinates associated with…
We consider NSR superstring in AdS_3 X S_3 X R_4 background. The action is expressed in terms of the variables on the group manifolds SL(2,R) and SU(2) as 1+1 dimensional sigma models with Wess-Zumino terms, associated with AdS_3 and S_3 respectively. R_4 is flat Euclidean space. We show the existence of classical nonlocal conserved currents in the superspace formulation for the nonlinear sigma model with the WZ term in the context of NSR string. We propose Ward identities utilizing the existence of the nonlocal conserved currents.
We study sigma models in AdS_4 with global N=1 supersymmetry and find that they differ significantly from their flat-space cousins -- the target space is constrained to be a Kahler manifold with an exact Kahler form, the superpotential transforms under Kahler transformations, the space of supersymmetric vacua is generically a set of isolated points even when the superpotential vanishes, and the R-symmetry is classically broken by the cosmological constant. Remarkably, the exactness of the Kahler class is also required for the sigma model to arise as a decoupling limit of N=1 supergravity, and …
We perform the derivation of the two-point correlation function in N=4 D=4 super Yang-Mills theory from superstring theory by computing the dilaton scattering amplitude in the NSR formulation of superstring theory on $AdS_5\times{S^5}$
We present a new class of solutions of D=10, N=2 chiral supergravity. A nonvanishing background for the field strength G_{MNR} of the complex two-form triggers AdS_3 x M_7 compactifications, where M_7 is a 7-dimensional compact manifold. When M_7 is a nonsymmetric coset space G/H, we can always find a set of constants G_{MNR} covariantly conserved and thus satisfying the field equations. For example the structure constants of G with indices in the G/H directions are a covariantly conserved tensor. In some symmetric G/H, where these structure constants vanish, there may still exist conserved 3-…
We consider integrability properties of the superstring on $AdS_{5}\times S^{5}$ background and construct a new one parameter family of currents which satisfies the vanishing curvature condition. We present the Hamiltonian analysis for the sigma model action and determine the Poisson algebra of the transition matrices. We reveal the generalization of the $\mathbb{Z}_{4}$ automorphism analogous to the sigma models defined on a symmetric space coset. A possible regularization scheme for the ambiguities present, which respects the generalized automorphism, is also discussed.
We discuss an interplay between T-duality and integrability for certain classical non-linear sigma models. In particular, we consider strings on the AdS_5 x S^5 background and perform T-duality along the four isometry directions of AdS_5 in the Poincare patch. The T-dual of the AdS_5 sigma model is again a sigma model on an AdS_5 space. This classical T-duality relation was used in the recently uncovered connection between light-like Wilson loops and MHV gluon scattering amplitudes in the strong coupling limit of the AdS/CFT duality. We show that the explicit coordinate dependence along the T-…
Classical vacuum - pure gauge - solutions of Euclidean two-dimensional SU(2) Yang-Mills theories are studied. Topologically non-trivial vacua are found in a class of gauge group elements isomorphic to $S_2$. These solutions are unexpectedly related to the solution of the non-linear O(3) model and to the motion of a particle in a periodic potential.
We derive the coherent state representation of the integrable spin chain Hamiltonian with symmetry group SL(2,R). By passing to the continuum limit, we find a spin chain sigma model describing a string moving on the hyperboloid SL(2,R)/U(1). The same sigma model is found by considering strings rotating with large angular momentum in AdS_5xS^5. The spinning strings are identified with semiclassical coherent states built out of SL(2,R) spin chain states.
We show that the massive Yang--Mills action having as a mass term the non-local operator introduced by Gubarov, Stodolsky, and Zakharov is classically equivalent to a principal gauged sigma model. The non-local mass corresponds to the topological term of the sigma model. The latter is obtained once the degrees of freedom implicitly generated in the non-local action are explicitly implemented as group elements. The non-local action is recovered by integrating out these group elements. In contrast to the usual gauge-fixed treatment, the sigma model point of view provides a safe framework in whic…
In this thesis we investigate quantum aspects of the Green-Schwarz superstring in various AdS backgrounds relevant for the AdS/CFT correspondence, providing several examples of perturbative computations in the corresponding integrable sigma-models. We start by reviewing in details the supercoset construction of the superstring action in $AdS_5 \times S^5$, pointing out the limits of this procedure for $AdS_4$ and $AdS_3$ backgrounds. For the $AdS_4 \times CP^3$ case we give a thorough derivation of an alternative action, based on the double-dimensional reduction of eleven-dimensional super-mem…
We introduce the Einstein-Yang-Mills AdS black brane solution in context of massive gravity. The ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density is calculated for this solution. This value violates the KSS bound if we apply the Dirichlet boundary and regularity on the horizon conditions.
The classical integrable structure of Z_4-graded supercoset sigma-models, arising in the AdS/CFT correspondence, is formulated within the R-matrix approach. The central object in this construction is the standard R-matrix of the Z_4-twisted loop algebra. However, in order to correctly describe the Lax matrix within this formalism, the standard inner product on this twisted loop algebra requires a further twist induced by the Zhukovsky map, which also plays a key role in the AdS/CFT correspondence. The non-ultralocality of the sigma-model can be understood as stemming from this latter twist sin…
Following a previous work on Abelian (2,0)-gauge theories, one reassesses here the task of coupling (2,0) relaxed Yang-Mills superpotentials to a (2,0)- nonlinear $σ$-model, by gauging the isotropy or the isometry group of the latter. One pays special attention to the extra ``chiral-like'' component-field gauge potential that comes out from the relaxation of superspace constraints.
In this paper we formulate the pure spinor superstring theory on AdS_4 x CP^3. By recasting the pure spinor action as a topological A-model on the fermionic supercoset Osp(6|4)/SO(6)xSp(4) plus a BRST exact term, we prove the exactness of the sigma-model. We then give a gauged linear sigma-model which reduces to the superstring in the limit of large volume and we study its branch geometry in different phases. Moreover, we discuss possible D-brane boundary conditions and the principal chiral model for the fermionic supercoset.
We discuss the spectrum of states of IIB supergravity on $AdS_5\times S^5$ in a manifest $SU(2,2/4)$ invariant setting. The boundary fields are described in terms of N=4 superconformal Yang-Mills theory and the proposed correspondence between supergravity in $AdS_5$ and superconformal invariant singleton theory at the boundary is formulated in an N=4 superfield covariant language.
We derive the low-energy effective action for the spinning (GKP) string in AdS(3) x S(3) x M(4) where M(4) = S(3) x S(1) or T(4). In the first case the action consists of two O(4) non-linear sigma models which are coupled through their interaction with four massless Majorana fermions (plus one free decoupled scalar). While in the second case it consists of one O(4) sigma model coupled to four Majorana fermions together with four free scalars from the T(4). We show that these models are classically integrable by constructing their Lax connections.
