We present a new classification scheme of baryon ground states and resonances into SU(3) flavor multiplets. The scheme is worked out along a covariant formalism with relativistic constituent quark models and it relies on detailed investigations of the baryon spectra, the spin-flavor structure of the baryon eigenstates, the behaviour of their probability density distributions as well as covariant predictions for mesonic decay widths. The results are found to be quite independent of the specific types of relativistic constituent quark models employed. It turns out that a consistent classification requires to include also resonances that are presently reported from experiment with only two-star status.
It is clear that matter is dominant in the Universe compared to antimatter. We call this problem baryon asymmetry. The baryon asymmetry is experimentally determined by both cosmic microwave background and big bang nucleosynthesis measurements. To resolve the baryon number asymmetry of the Universe as well as neutrino oscillations, we study a radiative seesaw model in a modular $A_4$ symmetry. Degenerate heavy Majorana neutrino masses can be naturally realized in an appropriate assignments under modular $A_4$ with large imaginary part of modulus $τ$, and it can induce measured baryon number via…
The challenges with the molecular model of the multiquark systems are the identification of the hadronic molecules and the interaction between two color neutral hadrons. We study the di-hadronic molecular systems with proposed interaction potential as s-wave one boson exchange potential along with Screen Yukawa-like potential, and arrived with the proposal that within hadronic molecule the two color neutral hadrons experience the dipole-like interaction. The present study is the continuation of our previous study \cite{arxiv-Rathaud-penta}. With the proposed interaction potential, the mass spe…
The recently proposed mechanism for the formation of the Roper resonance, in which a dynamically generated state as well as a genuine three-quark resonant state play an equally important role, is confronted with the model proposed almost twenty years ago in which the Roper is pictured as a molecular state of the nucleon and the $σ$ meson.
In this paper, we investigate the hidden-charm pentaquarks as $\bar{D}^{(\ast)}Λ_{\rm c}$ and $\bar{D}^{(\ast)}Σ^{(\ast)}_{\rm c}$ molecules coupled to the five-quark states. Furthermore, we extend our calculations to the hidden-bottom sector. The coupling to the five-quark states is treated as the short range potential, where the relative strength for the meson-baryon channels is determined by the structure of the five-quark states. We found that resonant and/or bound states appear in both the charm and bottom sectors. The five-quark state potential turned out to be attractive and, for this r…
We investigate a resonant leptogenesis scenario by quasi-degenerate right-handed neutrinos which have TeV-scale masses. Especially, we consider the case when two right-handed neutrinos are responsible to leptogenesis and the seesaw mechanism for active neutrino masses, and assume that the CP violation occurs only in the mixing matrix of active neutrinos. In this case the sign of the baryon asymmetry depends on the Dirac and Majorana CP phases as well as the mixing angle of the right-handed neutrinos. It is shown how the yield of the baryon asymmetry correlates with these parameters. In additio…
Chiral perturbation theory and its unitarized versions have played an important role in our understanding of the low-energy strong interaction. Yet, so far, such studies typically deal exclusively with perturbative or nonperturbative channels. In this letter, we report on the first global study of meson-baryon scattering up to one-loop order. It is shown that covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory, including its unitarization for the negative strangeness sector, can describe meson-baryon scattering data remarkably well. This provides a highly non-trivial check on the validity of this impo…
We propose a new scaling ansatz in the neutrino Dirac mass matrix to explain the low energy neutrino oscillations data, baryon number asymmetry and neutrinoless double beta decay. In this work, a full reconstruction of the neutrino Dirac mass matrix has been realized from the low energy neutrino oscillations data based on type-I seesaw mechanism. A concrete model based on $A_4$ flavor symmetry has been considered to generate such a neutrino Dirac mass matrix and imposes a relation between the two scaling factors. In this model, the right-handed Heavy Majorana neutrino masses are quasi-degenera…
Two bottom $Σ_b(6097)^\pm$ baryons were observed in the final states $Λ_b^0π^-$ and $Λ_b^0π^+$ in $pp$ collision by LHCb collaboration, whose masses and widths were measured. In a $^{3}P_{0}$ model, the strong decay widths of two ground $S$-wave and seven excited $P$-wave $Σ_b$ baryons have been systematically computed. Numerical results indicate that the newly observed $Σ_b(6097)^\pm$ are very possibly $Σ_{b2}^1({3\over 2}^-)$ with $J^P={3\over 2}^-$ or $Σ_{b2}^1({5\over 2}^-)$ with $J^P={5\over 2}^-$. The predicted decay widths of $Σ_b(6097)^\pm$ are consistent with experimental measurement …
We present a study of the reaction $π^-p \to ne^+e^-$ for $\sqrt{s}=1.49\,\textrm{GeV}$, including non-resonant Born terms and contributions of the $N(1440)$, $N(1520)$, $N(1535)$ resonances ($R$), using an effective-Lagrangian model, which we extended by a phenomenological phase factor at the $RNρ$ vertex function. We give predictions for both the differential cross section $dσ/dm$ and the spin density matrix elements of the virtual photon that decays into the lepton pair. In the studied energy range, the cross section is dominated by the Born and $N(1520)$ contributions.
Spectrum of the doubly heavy tetraquarks, $bb\bar q\bar q$, is studied in a constituent quark model. Four-body problem is solved in a variational method where the real scaling technique is used to identify resonant states above the fall-apart decay thresholds. In addition to the two bound states that were reported in the previous study we have found several narrow resonant states above the $BB^*$ and $B^*B^*$ thresholds. Their structures are studied and are interpreted by the quark dynamics. A narrow resonance with spin-parity $J^P=1^+$ is found to be a mixed state of a compact tetraquark and …
We present a low-scale type-I seesaw scenario with discrete flavor and CP symmetries. This scenario not only explains the measured values of the lepton mixing angles, but also makes predictions for leptonic CP violation, and connects the low-energy CP phases relevant for neutrino oscillation and neutrinoless double beta decay experiments with the high-energy CP phases relevant for leptogenesis. We show that the three right-handed Majorana neutrinos in this scenario have (almost) degenerate masses and their decays can explain the observed baryon asymmetry of the Universe via resonant leptogenes…
Traditional dark matter models, eg. WIMPs, assume dark matter is weakly coupled to the standard model so that elastic scattering between dark matter and baryons can be described perturbatively by Born approximation. Most direct detection experiments are analyzed according to that assumption. We show that when the fundamental DM-baryon interaction is attractive, dark matter-nucleus scattering is non-perturbative in much of the relevant parameter range. The cross section exhibits rich resonant behavior with a highly non-trivial dependence on atomic mass; furthermore, the extended rather than poi…
In view of the recent results of lattice QCD simulation in the P11 partial wave that has found no clear signal for the three-quark Roper state we investigate a different mechanism for the formation of the Roper resonance in a coupled channel approach including the $πN$, $πΔ$ and $σN$ channels. We fix the pion-baryon vertices in the underlying quark model while the $s$-wave sigma-baryon interaction is introduced phenomenologically with the coupling strength, the mass and the width of the $σ$ meson as free parameters. The Laurent-Pietarinen expansion is used to extract the information about the …
We use a unitary coupled-channel model to study the $\bar{D} Λ_c - \bar{D} Σ_c$ interactions. In our calculation, SU(3) flavor symmetry is applied to determine the coupling constants. Several resonant and bound states with different spin and parity are dynamically generated in the mass range of the recently observed pentaquarks. The approach is also extended to the hidden beauty sector to study the $B Λ_b - B Σ_b$ interactions. As the $b$-quark mass is heavier than the $c$-quark mass, there are more resonances observed for $B Λ_b - B Σ_b$ interactions and they are more tightly bound.
