We consider the initial value problem for the L^2-critical defocusing Hartree equation in R^n, n \ge 3. We show that the problem is globally well posed in H^s(R^n) when 1>s> \frac{2(n-2)}{3n-4}$. We use the "I-method" combined with a local in time Morawetz estimate for the smoothed out solution.
In this paper, we study the following two-component systems of nonlinear Schrödinger equations \begin{equation*} \left\{\aligned&Δu-(λa(x)+a_0(x))u+μ_1u^3+βv^2u=0\quad&\text{in }\bbr^3,\\ &Δv-(λb(x)+b_0(x))v+μ_2v^3+βu^2v=0\quad&\text{in }\bbr^3,\\ &u,v\in\h,\quad u,v>0\quad\text{in }\bbr^3,\endaligned\right. \end{equation*} where $λ,μ_1,μ_2>0$ and $β<0$ are parameters; $a(x), b(x)\geq0$ are steep potentials and $a_0(x),b_0(x)$ are sign-changing weight functions; $a(x)$, $b(x)$, $a_0(x)$ and $b_0(x)$ are not necessarily to be radial symmetric. By the variational method, we obtain a ground state…
We give a global bilateral estimate on the maximal solution $\bar u_F$ of $ \prt_tu-Δu+u^q=0$ in $\BBR^N\times (0,\infty)$, $q>1$, $N\geq 1$, which vanishes at $t=0 $ on the complement of a closed subset $F\subset \BBR^N$. This estimate is expressed by a Wiener test involving the Bessel capacity $C_{2/q,q'}$. We deduce from this estimate that $\bar {u}_F$ is $σ$-moderate in Dynkin's sense.
Local and global well - posedness of the solution to the two space dimensional Dirac equation with Hartree type nonlinearity is established with the initial datum in the space $H^s(\mathbb{R}^2, \mathbb{C}^2)$ with $s >0.$.
We study Cauchy problem for the Klein-Gordon (HNLKG), wave (HNLW) and Schrödinger (HNLS) equations with cubic convolution (Hartree type) nonlinearity. Some global well-posedness and scattering are obtained for the (HNLKG) and (HNLS) with small Cauchy data in some modulation spaces. Global well-posedness for fractional Schrödinger (fNLSH) equation with Hartree type nonlinearity is obtained with Cauchy data in some modulation spaces. Local well-posedness for (HNLW), (fHNLS) and (HNLKG) with rough data in modulation spaces is shown. This improves known results in Sobolev spaces in some sense. As …
We study the Cauchy problems for the Hartree-type nonlinear Dirac equations with Yukawa-type potential in two and three spatial dimensions. This paper improves our previous results \cite{chohlee,cholee}; we establish global well-posedness and scattering for large data with a certain condition. Firstly we investigate the long-time behavior of solutions to the Dirac equation satisfies good control provided that a particular dispersive norm of solutions is bounded. The key of our proof relies on modifying multilinear estimates obtained in our previous papers. Secondly, we obtain large data scatte…
In this paper we consider the defocusing Hartree nonlinear Schrödinger equations on $\mathbb T^3$ with real valued and even potential $V$ and Fourier multiplier decaying like $|k|^{-β}$. By relying on the method of random averaging operators in arXiv:1910.08492, we show that there exists $\frac{1}{2} \ll β_0 <1 $ such that for $ β> β_0 $ we have invariance of the associated Gibbs measure and global existence of strong solutions in its statistical ensemble. In this way we extend Bourgain's seminal result [7] which requires $β>2$ in this case.
We extend the recent work of Chong et al., (2022) to the critical case. More precisely, we prove global in time, uniform in $N$ estimates for the solutions $ϕ$, $Λ$ and $Γ$ of a coupled system of Hartree--Fock--Bogoliubov type with interaction potential $\frac1NV_N(x-y)=N^{2}v(N(x-y))$. We assume that the potential $v$ is small which satisfies some technical conditions, and the initial conditions have finite energy. The main ingredient is a sharp estimate for the linear Schrödinger equation with potential in 6+1 dimension, which may be of interest in its own right.
By $I$-method, the interaction Morawetz estimate, long time Strichartz estimate and local smoothing effect of Schrödinger operator, we show global well-posedness and scattering for the defocusing Hartree equation $$\left\{ \begin{array}{ll} iu_t + Δu &=F(u), \quad (t,x) \in \mathbb{R} \times \mathbb{R}^4 u(0) \\ &=u_0(x)\in H^s(\mathbb{R}^4), \end{array} \right. $$ where $F(u)= (V* |u|^2) u$, and $V(x)=|x|^{-γ}$, $3< γ<4$, with radial data in $H^{s}(\mathbb{R}^4)$ for $s>s_c:=γ/2-1$. It is a sharp global result except of the critical case $s=s_c$, which is a very difficult open problem.
We extend the results of the 2019 paper by the third and fourth author globally in time. More precisely, we prove uniform in $N$ estimates for the solutions $ϕ$, $Λ$ and $Γ$ of a coupled system of Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov type with interaction potential $V_N(x-y)=N^{3 β}v(N^β(x-y))$ with $β<1$. The potential satisfies some technical conditions, but is not small. The initial conditions have finite energy and the "pair correlation" part satisfies a smallness condition, but are otherwise general functions in suitable Sobolev spaces, and the expected correlations in $Λ$ develop dynamically in time.…

We study the Cauchy problem for fractional Schrödinger equation with cubic convolution nonlinearity ($i\partial_t u - (-Δ)^{\fracα{2}}u\pm (K\ast |u|^2) u =0$) with Cauchy data in the modulation spaces $M^{p,q}(\mathbb R^{d}).$ For $K(x)= |x|^{-γ}$ $ (0< γ< \text{min} \{α, d/2\})$, we establish global well-posedness results in $M^{p,q}(\mathbb R^{d}) (1\leq p \leq 2, 1\leq q < 2d/ (d+γ))$ when $α=2, d\geq 1$, and with radial Cauchy data when $d\geq 2, \frac{2d}{2d-1}< α< 2. $ Similar results are proven in Fourier algebra $\mathcal{F}L^1(\mathbb R^d) \cap L^2(\mathbb R^d).$
We consider Cauchy problem of the Hartree-type nonlinear Dirac equation with potentials given by $V_b(x) = \frac1{4π}\frac{e^{-b|x|}}{|x|}\, (b \ge 0)$. In previous works, a standard argument is to utilise null form estimates in order to prove global well-posedness for $H^s$-data, $s>0$. However, the null structure inside the equations is not enough to attain the critical regularity. We impose an extra regularity assumption with respect to the angular variable. Firstly, we prove global well-posedness and scattering of Dirac equations with Hartree-type nonlinearity for $b>0$ for small $L^2_x$-d…
We prove that certain Sobolev-type norms, slightly stronger than those given by energy conservation, stay bounded uniformly in time and $N$. This allows one to extend the local existence results of the second and third author globally in time. The proof is based on interaction Morawetz-type estimates and Strichartz estimates (including some new end-point results) for the equation $\{ \frac{1}{i}\partial_t-Δ_{x}-Δ_{y}+\frac{1}{N}V_N(x-y) \}Λ(t, x, y) =F$ in mixed coordinates such as $L^p(dt) L^q(dx) L^2(dy)$, $L^p(dt) L^q(dy) L^2(dx)$, $L^p(dt) L^q(d(x-y)) L^2(d(x+y))$. The main new technical i…
This note studies the asymptotic behavior of global solutions to the fourth-order generalized Hartree equation $$i\dot u+Δ^2 u\pm(I_α*|u|^p)|u|^{p-2}u=0.$$ Indeed, for both attractive and repulsive sign, the scattering is obtained in the mass super-critical and energy sub-critical regimes, with radial setting.
We study some properties of the solutions of (E) $\;-\Gd_p u+|\nabla u|^q=0$ in a domain $\Gw \sbs \BBR^N$, mostly when $p\geq q>p-1$. We give a universal priori estimate of the gradient of the solutions with respect to the distance to the boundary. We give a full classification of the isolated singularities of the positive solutions of (E), a partial classification of isolated singularities of the negative solutions. We prove a general removability result in expressed in terms of some Bessel capacity of the removable set. We extend our estimates to equations on complete non compact manifolds …
This paper studies the asymptotic behavior of global solutions to the generalized Hartree equation $$i\dot u+Δu+(I_α*|\cdot|^b|u|^p)|x|^b|u|^{p-2}u=0 .$$ Indeed, using a new approach due to \cite{dm}, one proves the scattering of the above inhomogeneous Choquard equation in the mass-super-critical and energy sub-critical regimes with radial setting.
This manuscript proves the energy scattering of global solutions to a repulsive fourth-order generalized Hartree equation with non-radial data in the inter-critical regime. This work uses a new approach due to Dodson-Murphy [4] and extends the previous work [14] by removing the spherically symmetric assumption on the data.
We consider the Cauchy problem associated to the fourth-order nonlinear Schrödinger-Hartree equation with variable dispersion coefficients. The variable dispersion coefficients are assumed to be continuous or periodic and piecewise constant in time functions. We prove local and global well-posedness results for initial data in $H^s$-spaces. We also analyze the scaling limit of fast dispersion management and the convergence to a model with averaged dispersions.
We study the global behavior of solutions to the nonlinear generalized Hartree equation, where the nonlinearity is of the non-local type and is expressed as a convolution, $$ i u_t + Δu + (|x|^{-(N-γ)} \ast |u|^p)|u|^{p-2}u=0, \quad x \in \mathbb{R}^N, t\in \mathbb{R}. $$ Our main goal is to understand behavior of $H^1$ (finite energy) solutions of this equation in various settings. In this work we make an initial attempt towards this goal. We first investigate the $H^1$ local wellposedness and small data theory. We then, in the intercritical regime ($0<s<1$), classify the behavior of $H^1$ so…
We establish both a local and a global well-posedness theories for the nonlinear Hartree-Fock equations and its reduced analog in the setting of the modulation spaces on $\mathbb R^d$. In addition, we prove similar results when a harmonic potential is added to the equations. In the process, we prove the boundedeness of certain multilinear operators on products of the modulation spaces which may be of independent interest.
We establish global existence, scattering for radial solutions to the energy-critical focusing Hartree equation with energy and $\dot{H}^1$ norm less than those of the ground state in $\mathbb{R}\times \mathbb{R}^d$, $d\geq 5$.
This paper studies the inhomogeneous fractional Schödinger equation $$i\dot u-(-Δ)^s u=\pm(I_α*|\cdot|^b|u|^p)|x|^b|u|^{p-2}u.$$ In the mass super-critical and energy sub-critical regimes, using a Gagliardo-Nirenberg adapted to the above problem, the standing waves give a sharp threshold of global existence versus finite time blow-up of solutions.
We consider a many-body Boson system with pairwise particle interaction given by $N^{3β-1}v(N^βx)$ for $0<β<1$ and $v$ a non-negative spherically-symmetric function. Our main result is the extension of the local-in-time Fock space (norm) approximation of the exact dynamics of squeezed states proved in Grillakis and Machedon, Comm. PDEs, (2017) for $0<β<\frac{2}{3}$ to a global-in-time norm approximation for $0<β<1$. Our work can also be viewed as a generalization of the results of Boccato, Cenatiempo, and Schlein, Ann. Henri Poincaré, (2017) to a more general set of initial data that includes …
We study the generalized Hartree equation, which is a nonlinear Schrödinger-type equation with a nonlocal potential $iu_t + Δu + (|x|^{-b} \ast |u|^p)|u|^{p-2}u=0, x \in \mathbb{R}^N$.We establish the local well-posedness at the non-conserved critical regularity $\dot{H}^{s_c}$ for $s_c \geq 0$, which also includes the energy-supercritical regime $s_c>1$ (thus, complementing the work in [3], where the authors obtained the $H^1$ well-posedness in the intercritical regime together with classification of solutions under the mass-energy threshold). We next extend the local theory to global: for sm…
We establish global well-posedness and scattering for solutions to the mass-critical nonlinear Hartree equation $iu_t+Δu=\pm(|x|^{-2}*|u|^2)u$ for large spherically symmetric $L^2_x(\Bbb{R}^d)$ initial data; in the focusing case we require, of course, that the mass is strictly less than that of the ground state.
We establish some local and global well-posedness for Hartree-Fock equations of $N$ particles (HFP) with Cauchy data in Lebesgue spaces $L^p \cap L^2 $ for $1\leq p \leq \infty$. Similar results are proven for fractional HFP in Fourier-Lebesgue spaces $ \hat{L}^p \cap L^2 \ (1\leq p \leq \infty).$ On the other hand, we show that the Cauchy problem for HFP is ill-posed if we simply work in $\hat{L}^p \ (2<p\leq \infty).$ Analogue results hold for reduced HFP. In the process, we prove the boundedeness of various trilinear estimates for Hartree type non linearity in these spaces which may be of i…

This article is concerned with the mathematical analysis of a class of a nonlinear fractional Schrodinger equations with a general Hartree-type integrand. We prove existence and uniqueness of global-in-time solutions to the associated Cauchy problem. Under suitable assumptions, we also prove the existence of standing waves using the method of concentration-compactness by studying the associated constrained minimization problem. Finally we show the orbital stability of standing waves which are the minimizers of the associate variational problem.
We consider the mass-subcritical Hartree equation with a homogeneous kernel, in the space of square integrable functions whose Fourier transform is integrable. We prove a global well-posedness result in this space. On the other hand, we show that the Cauchy problem is not even locally well-posed if we simply work in the space of functions whose Fourier transform is integrable. Similar results are proven when the kernel is not homogeneous, and is such that its Fourier transform belongs to some Lebesgue space.
We consider the fractional Hartree equation in the $L^2$-supercritical case, and we find a sharp threshold of the scattering versus blow-up dichotomy for radial data: If $ M[u_{0}]^{\frac{s-s_c}{s_c}}E[u_{0}<M[Q]^{\frac{s-s_c}{s_c}}E[Q]$ and $M[u_{0}]^{\frac{s-s_c}{s_c}}\|u_{0}\|^2_{\dot H^s}<M[Q]^{\frac{s-s_c}{s_c}}\| Q\|^2_{\dot H^s}$, then the solution $u(t)$ is globally well-posed and scatters; if $ M[u_{0}]^{\frac{s-s_c}{s_c}}E[u_{0}]<M[Q]^{\frac{s-s_c}{s_c}}E[Q]$ and $M[u_{0}]^{\frac{s-s_c}{s_c}}\|u_{0}\|^2_{\dot H^s}>M[Q]^{\frac{s-s_c}{s_c}}\| Q\|^2_{\dot H^s}$, the solution $u(t)$ blow…
We study the Cauchy problem for the fractional Schrödinger equation $$ i\partial_tu = (m^2-Δ)^\frac\alpha2 u + F(u) in \mathbb{R}^{1+n}, $$ where $ n \ge 1$, $m \ge 0$, $1 < α< 2$, and $F$ stands for the nonlinearity of Hartree type: $$F(u) = λ(\frac{ψ(\cdot)}{|\cdot|^γ} * |u|^2)u$$ with $λ= \pm1, 0 <γ< n$, and $0 \le ψ\in L^\infty(\mathbb R^n)$. We prove the existence and uniqueness of local and global solutions for certain $α$, $γ$, $λ$, $ψ$. We also remark on finite time blowup of solutions when $λ= -1$.
We consider the defocusing, $\dot{H}^1$-critical Hartree equation for the radial data in all dimensions $(n\geq 5)$. We show the global well-posedness and scattering results in the energy space. The new ingredient in this paper is that we first take advantage of the term $\displaystyle - \int_{I}\int_{|x|\leq A|I|^{1/2}}|u|^{2}Δ\Big(\frac{1}{|x|}\Big)dxdt$ in the localized Morawetz identity to rule out the possibility of energy concentration, instead of the classical Morawetz estimate dependent of the nonlinearity.
In this article, we prove the global well-posedness of the time-dependent Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (TDHFB) equations in $\mathbb{R}^{1+1}$ with two-body interaction potentials of the form $N^{-1}v_N(x) = N^{β-1} v(N^βx)$ where $v$ is a sufficiently regular radial function $v \in L^1(\mathbb{R})\cap C^\infty(\mathbb{R})$. In particular, using methods of dispersive PDEs similar to the ones used in Grillakis and Machedon, Comm. PDEs., (2017), we are able to show for any scaling parameter $β>0$ the TDHFB equations are globally well-posed in some Strichartz-type spaces independent of $N$, cf. (Bach …
In this paper, we deal with the Cauchy problem of the quasilinear Schödinger equation \begin{equation*} \left\{ \begin{array}{lll} iu_t=Δu+2uh'(|u|^2)Δh(|u|^2)+(W(x)\ast|u|^2)u,\ x\in \mathbb{R}^N,\ t>0\\ u(x,0)=u_0(x),\quad x\in \mathbb{R}^N. \end{array}\right. \end{equation*} Here $h(s)$ and $W(x)$ are some real valued functions. Our focus is to investigate how the interplay between the potential $W(x)$ and the quasilinear presence $h(s)$ affects the blowup in finite time and global existence of the solution. In a special, we can obtain the watershed condition on $W(x)$ in the following sens…
In this paper, we study the Cauchy problem of 2d Dirac equation with Hartree type nonlinearity $c(|\cdot|^{-γ} * \langle ψ, βψ\rangle)βψ$ with $c\in \mathbb R\setminus\{0\} $, $0 < γ< 2$. Our aim is to show the small data global well-posedness and scattering in $H^s$ for $s > γ-1$ and $1 < γ< 2$. The difficulty stems from the singularity of the low-frequency part $|ξ|^{-(2-γ)}χ_{\{|ξ|\le 1\}}$ of potential. To overcome it we adapt $U^p-V^p$ space argument and bilinear estimates of \cite{yang, tes2d} arising from the null structure. We also provide nonexistence result for scattering in the long…
We investigate the well-posedness in the generalized Hartree equation $iu_t + Δu + (|x|^{-(N-γ)} \ast |u|^p)|u|^{p-2}u=0$, $x \in \mathbb{R}^N$, $0<γ<N$, for low powers of nonlinearity, $p<2$. We establish the local well-posedness for a class of data in weighted Sobolev spaces, following ideas of Cazenave and Naumkin [6]. This crucially relies on the boundedness of the Riesz transform in weighted Lebesgue spaces. As a consequence, we obtain a class of data that exists globally, moreover, scatters in positive time. Furthermore, in the focusing case in the $L^2$-supercritical setting we obtain a…
We study the global behavior of solutions to the focusing generalized Hartree equation with $H^1$ data at mass-energy threshold in the inter-range case. In the earlier works of Arora-Roudenko [Arora-Roudenko 2021], the behavior of solutions below the mass-energy threshold was classified. In this paper, we first exhibit three special solutions: $e^{it} Q$, $Q^\pm$, where $Q^\pm$ exponentially approach to the $e^{it} Q$ in the positive time direction, $Q^+$ blows up and $Q^-$ scatters in the negative time direction. Then we classify solutions at this threshold, showing that they behave exactly a…
We consider the Cauchy problem for the focusing Hartree equation $iu_{t}+Δu+(|\cdot|^{-3}\ast|u|^{2})u=0$ in $\mathbb{R}^{5}$ with the initial data in $H^1$, and study the divergent property of infinite-variance and nonradial solutions. Letting $Q$ be the ground state solution of $-Q+ΔQ+(|\cdot|^{-3}\ast|Q|^{2})Q=0 $ in $ \mathbb{R}^{5}$, we prove that if $u_{0}\in H^{1}$ satisfying $M(u_0) E(u_0)<M(Q) E(Q)$ and $\|\nabla u_{0}\|_{2}\|u_{0}\|_{2} >\|\nabla Q\|_{2}\|Q\|_{2} ,$ then the corresponding solution $u(t)$ either blows up in finite forward time, or exists globally for positive time and…
In this paper, we settle the problem for time-dependent Hartree equation with inhomogeneous boundary condition in a bounded Lipschitz domain in $\mathbb{R}^{N}$. A global existence result is derived.
In this paper, we consider the Cauchy problem for Klein-Gordon equation with a cubic convolution nonlinearity in $\R^3$. By making use of Bourgain's method in conjunction with a precise Strichartz estimate of S.Klainerman and D.Tataru, we establish the $H^s (s<1)$ global well-posedness of the Cauchy problem for the cubic convolution defocusing Klein-Gordon-Hartree equation. Before arriving at the previously discussed conclusion, we obtain global solution for this non-scaling equation with small initial data in $H^{s_0}\times H^{s_0-1}$ where $s_0=\fracγ6$ but not $\frac\gamma2-1$, for this equ…
We study a class of two-dimensional non-linear Schrödinger equations with point-like singular perturbation and Hartree non-linearity. The point-like singular perturbation of the free Laplacian induces appropriate perturbed Sobolev spaces that are necessary for the study of ground states and evolution flow. We include in our treatment both mass sub-critical and mass critical Hartree non-linearities. Our analysis is two-fold: we establish existence, symmetry, and regularity of ground states, and we demonstrate the well-posedness of the associated Cauchy problem in the singular perturbed energy s…
We consider the focusing $5$d Hartree equation, which is $L^2$-supercritical, with finite energy initial data, and investigate the solutions at the mass-energy threshold. We establish the existence of special solutions following the work of Duyckaerts-Roudenko [11] for the $3$d focusing cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS). In particular, apart from the ground state solution $Q$, which is global but non-scattering, there exist special solutions $Q^+$ and $Q^-$, which in one time direction approach $Q$ exponentially, and in the other time direction $Q^+$ blows up in finite time and $Q^-$ …
We prove the global well-posedness and scattering for the defocusing $H^{\frac12}$-subcritical (that is, $2<γ<3$) Hartree equation with low regularity data in $\mathbb{R}^d$, $d\geq 3$. Precisely, we show that a unique and global solution exists for initial data in the Sobolev space $H^s\big(\mathbb{R}^d\big)$ with $s>4(γ-2)/(3γ-4)$, which also scatters in both time directions. This improves the result in \cite{ChHKY}, where the global well-posedness was established for any $s>\max\big(1/2,4(γ-2)/(3γ-4)\big)$. The new ingredients in our proof are that we make use of an interaction Morawetz est…
In this paper, we consider the dynamics of the solution to the mass critical focusing Hartree equation with inverse-square potential in the energy space $H^{1}(\mathbb{R}^d)$. The main difficulties are the equation is \emph{not} space-translation invariant and the nonlinearity is non-local. We first prove that if the mass of the initial data is less than that of ground states, then the solution will be global. Although we don't know whether the ground state is unique, we can verify all the ground states have the same, minimal mass threshold. Then at the minimal mass threshold, we can construct…
Using the same induction on energy argument in both frequency space and spatial space simultaneously as in \cite{CKSTT07}, \cite{RyV05} and \cite{Vi05}, we obtain global well-posedness and scattering of energy solutions of defocusing energy-critical nonlinear Hartree equation in $\mathbb{R}\times \mathbb{R}^n$($n\geq 5$), which removes the radial assumption on the data in \cite{MiXZ07a}. The new ingredients are that we use a modified long time perturbation theory to obtain the frequency localization (Proposition \ref{freqdelocaimplystbound} and Corollary \ref{frequencylocalization}) of the min…
