This paper concerns the problem of non-ideal state transfer along the alternating open chain of spins $s=1/2$ with XY Hamiltonian. It is found that the state transfer along the chain with even number of spins $N$ ($N=4,6,8$) may be realized with high probability. Privilege of even $N$ in comparison with odd $N$ is demonstrated.

We consider the $M$-neighbor approximation in the problem of one-qubit pure state transfer along the $N$-node zigzag and alternating spin chains governed by the $XXZ$-Hamiltonian with the dipole-dipole interaction. The fidelity and entanglement entropy in an antiferromagnetic-ferromagnetic alternating Heisenberg chain are investigated by using the method of density-matrix renormalization-group. The effect of anisotropy on fidelity and entanglement entropy are investigated. The relations between fidelity, entanglement entropy and quantum phase transition are analyzed. It is found that the quantum phase transition point can be well characterized by both the ground-state entropy and fidelity for large system.
The Ising model on an alternating triangular lattice with the nearest-neighbor interaction in a magnetic field is presented. Exact solution of this model is found. We analyze the phase diagram of the exact ground state (GS) of spin-$s$ chains with ferromagnetic $XXZ$ couplings under $n$-alternating field configurations, i.e, sparse alternating fields having nodes at $n-1$ contiguous sites. We study the fidelity susceptibility in an antiferromagnetic spin-1 XXZ chain numerically. By using the density-matrix renormalization group method, the effects of the alternating single-site anisotropy $D$ on fidelity susceptibility are investigated. We study the entanglement properties of a class of ground states defined by matrix product states, which are generalizations of the valence bond solid (VBS) state in one dimension. It is shown that the transfer matrix of these states can be related to representations of the Temperley-Lieb algebra, allowing an exact computation of Renyi entropy.
