The general scale parameter, having the dimensions of mass squared, is dynamically generated in the QCD gluon sector. It is introduced through the difference between the regularized full gluon self-energy and its value at some finite point. It violates transversality of the full gluon self-energy. The Slavnov-Taylor identity for the full gluon propagator, when it is given by the corresponding equation of motion, is also violated by it. So in order to maintain both transversality and the identity it should be disregarded from the very beginning, i.e., put formally zero everywhere. However, we have shown how to preserve the above-mentioned identity at non-zero mass squared parameter. This allows one to establish the structure of the full gluon propagator when it is explicitly present. Its contribution does not survive in the perturbation theory regime when the gluon momentum goes to infinity. At the same time, its contribution dominates the structure of the full gluon propagator when the gluon momentum goes to zero. We have also proposed a method how to restore transversality of the relevant gluon propagator in a gauge invariant way, while keeping the mass squared parameter "alive".
It is shown that the creation of a monopole is a gauge invariant statement, based on topology. Creating a monopole is independent on the abelian projection in which it is created. This is fundamental in defining an order parameter for detecting dual superconductivity of the QCD vacuum.
We present a new color decomposition for QCD amplitudes at one-loop level as a generalization of the Del Duca-Dixon-Maltoni and Johansson-Ochirov decomposition at tree level. Starting from a minimal basis of planar primitive amplitudes we write down a color decomposition that is free of linear dependencies among appearing primitive amplitudes or color factors. The conjectured decomposition applies to any number of quark flavors and is independent of the choice of gauge group and matter representation. The results also hold for higher-dimensional or supersymmetric extensions of QCD. We provide …
We investigate how fields transform under the Poincaré group in nonrelativistic effective field theories of QCD. In constructing these transformations, we rely only on symmetries and field redefinitions to limit the number of allowed terms. By requiring invariance of the action under these transformations, nontrivial relations between Wilson coefficients for both nonrelativistic QCD and potential nonrelativistic QCD are derived. We show explicitly how the Poincaré algebra is satisfied, and how this gives complementary information on the Wilson coefficients. We also briefly discuss the implicat…

Color-factor symmetry is used to derive a KLT-type relation for tree-level QCD amplitudes containing gluons and an arbitrary number of massive or massless quark-antiquark pairs, generalizing the expression for Yang-Mills amplitudes originally postulated by Bern, De Freitas, and Wong. An explicit expression is given for all amplitudes with two or fewer quark-antiquark pairs in terms of the (modified) momentum kernel. We also introduce the bicolor scalar theory, the "zeroth copy" of QCD, containing massless biadjoint scalars and massive bifundamental scalars, generalizing the biadjoint scalar th…
These lectures are an elementary introduction to the "birdtrack" color pictorial technique, a useful tool in QCD. We review the basic rules, discuss color conservation and infinitesimal color rotations, learn how to project on partonic color states, how to derive their Casimir charges... and at the same time learn a little bit of representation theory.
We study the two-color QCD matter within two fundamental quark flavors via both chiral perturbation theory and Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model methods. The effective Lagrangian described by low lying meson and baryon, i.e., diquark, is derived, where the excitations locate in the extended $\mathrm{SU}(4)$ flavor symmetry space. We determine the leading order terms on the dependence of the baryon and axial isospin densities. Then, the two-color NJL model is employed to run the numerical simulation and the phase diagram in the plane of $μ-ν_{5}$ is plotted.
We present a new dual representation for lattice QCD in terms of wordlines and worldsheets. The exact reformulation is carried out using the recently developed abelian color flux method where the action is decomposed into commuting minimal terms that connect different colors on neighboring sites. Expanding the Boltzmann factors for these commuting terms allows one to reorganize the gauge field contributions according to links such that the gauge fields can be integrated out in closed form. The emerging constraints give the dual variables the structure of worldlines for the fermions and worldsh…
We investigate quantum chromodynamics with two colors at nonvanishing density using Dyson-Schwinger equations. Lattice methods do not have a complex action problem in this theory. Thus, we can benchmark our results and the effect of truncations directly by comparing with the corresponding lattice results. We do so for the gluon propagator, the chiral condensate, and the quark number density and test variations of the employed truncation to improve the agreement. Finally, we compare the effect of a truncation on the chiral and confinement/deconfinement transitions in the phase diagrams of QCD a…

We present a numerical study of three-dimensional two-color QCD with $N=0, 2, 4, 8$ and 12 flavors of massless two-component fermions using parity-preserving improved Wilson-Dirac fermions. A finite volume analysis provides strong evidence for the presence of $Sp(N)$ symmetry-breaking bilinear condensate when $N \le 2$ and its absence for $N \ge 8$. A weaker evidence for the bilinear condensate is shown for $N=4$. We estimate the critical number of flavors below which scale-invariance is broken by the bilinear condensate to be between $N=4$ and 6.
Using the lattice gauge field theory, we study the relation among the local chiral condensate, monopoles, and color magnetic fields in quantum chromodynamics (QCD). First, we investigate idealized Abelian gauge systems of 1) a static monopole-antimonopole pair and 2) a magnetic flux without monopoles, on a four-dimensional Euclidean lattice. In these systems, we calculate the local chiral condensate on quasi-massless fermions coupled to the Abelian gauge field, and find that the chiral condensate is localized in the vicinity of the magnetic field. Second, using SU(3) lattice QCD Monte Carlo ca…
In this paper, we derive generalized Bern-Carrasco-Johansson relations for color-ordered Yang-Mills amplitudes by imposing gauge invariance conditions and dimensional reduction appropriately on the new discovered graphic expansion of Einstein-Yang-Mills amplitudes. These relations are also satisfied by color-ordered amplitudes in other theories such as color-scalar theory, bi-scalar theory and nonlinear sigma model (NLSM). As an application of the gauge invariance induced relations, we further prove that the three types of BCJ numerators in NLSM , which are derived from Feynman rules, Abelian …
