We investigate the baryonic contributions to the dilepton yield in high energy heavy ion collisions within the context of a transport model. The relative contribution of the baryonic and mesonic sources are examined. It is observed that most dominant among the baryonic channels is the decay of N*(1520) and mostly confined in the region below the rho peak. In a transport theory implementation we find the baryonic contribution to the lepton pair yield to be small.
We present a first calculation of the dilepton yield and elliptic flow done with 3+1D viscous hydrodynamical simulations of relativistic heavy ion collisions at the top RHIC energy. A comparison with recent experimental data from the STAR collaboration is made.
We consider production of dilepton pairs through coherent electro-magnetic radiation during nuclear collisions. We show that the number of pairs produced through bremsstrahlung is about two orders of magnitude smaller than the yield measured by the CERES collaboration. Therefore, coherent bremsstrahlung can be ruled out as an explanation for the observed enhancement of low mass dileptons in CERES and HELIOS.
The production of intermediate mass dileptons in ultrarelativistic nuclear collisions at SPS energies is studied. The acceptance and detector resolution inherent to measurements by the NA50 experimental collaboration are accurately modeled. The measured centrality dependence of the intermediate mass lepton pair excess is also addressed.
We consider the production of lepton pairs with intermediate invariant masses, in relativistic nuclear collisions. Thermal sources are briefly discussed, as well as a newer production mechanism which involves jet-plasma interactions. Estimates for high p_T lepton pairs are provided.
We study the A+B -> l+ l- + jet +X process in nucleus-nucleus collisions at relativistic energies. The dilepton as well as the jet will pass through the matter produced in such collisions. The recoiling dilepton will carry information about the kinematical features of the jet, and will thus prove to be a very effective tool in isolating in-medium effects such as energy-loss and fragmentation function modifications. We estimate the contributions due to correlated charm and bottom decay and we identify a window where they are small as compared to pairs from the NLO Drell-Yan process.
The present status of our understanding of low mass dilepton production in relativistic heavy ion collisions is discussed. The focus of the discussion will be the sensitivity of dilepton measurements to in medium changes of hadrons and the restoration of chiral symmetry. We will finally discuss how the presence of strong long wavelength pion modes, i.e. disoriented chiral condensates can be seen in the dilepton spectrum.
The current theoretical status in the analysis and interpretation of low-mass dilepton measurements in (ultra-) relativistic heavy-ion experiments is reviewed. Special emphasis is put on potential signals of (partial) restoration of dynamically broken chiral symmetry in a hot and dense hadronic medium. It follows from chiral symmetry alone that parity partners of hadronic correlation functions must become identical when the symmetry is restored. The assessment of medium effects in the vector channel, which governs the dilepton production, thus necessitates a simultaneous treatment of the vecto…
A simple schematic model anchored on the notion of hadronic freedom inferred from hidden local symmetry in the vector manifestation, the infinite tower of vector mesons in holographic QCD and "stickiness" of $ππ$ interactions inferred from dispersion relations is used to describe the dileptons produced in relativistic heavy ion collisions at PHENIX/RHIC. It is shown that due to the near "blindness" of dileptons to Brown-Rho scaling, those dileptons with invariant mass less than $m_ρ=770$ MeV come mostly from pion-composites that we interpret as "transient $ρ$'s."
We consider the role of rescattering of secondary kaons on the dilepton branching ratio of the phi meson. In-medium mass modifications and broadening of kaons and phi mesons are taken into account. We find in the framework of a Bjorken scenario for the time evolution of the expanding fireball that the phi yield from dimuons is moderately or at least only slightly enhanced compared to that from kaon-antikaon pairs. The relation to experimental yields measured by the NA49, NA50 and CERES Collaborations at CERN SPS and the PHENIX Collaboration at RHIC is discussed.
Dilepton production from the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) phase of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions is computed using the leading-order (3+1)-dimensional anisotropic hydrodynamics. It is shown that high-energy dilepton spectrum is sensitive to the initial local-rest-frame momentum-space anisotropy of the QGP. Our findings suggest that it may be possible to constrain the early-time momentum-space anisotropy in relativistic heavy-ion collisions using high-energy dilepton yields.
We have made a detailed and quantitative study of dilepton production via bremsstrahlung of a virtual photon during pion-pion collisions. Most calculations of electromagnetic radiation from strong interaction processes rely on the soft photon approximation (SPA). The conditions underlying this approximation are generally violated when dilepton spectra are calculated in terms of their invariant mass, so that an approach going beyond the SPA becomes necessary. Superseding previous derivations, we derive an exact formula for the bremsstrahlung cross section. The resulting formulation is compared …
The invariant mass spectrum and the elliptic flow of lepton pairs produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC are studied with viscous hydrodynamics. The effects of viscous corrections on dilepton observables are explored. The lepton pairs originating from charm quarks evolving in the viscous background are seen to be a good probe of quark energy loss and gain, as quantified by the dilepton spectrum and by the dilepton elliptic flow.
We attempt to understand the low-mass dielectron enhancement observed by PHENIX Collaboration at Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) by transport peak in the spectral function. On the basis of the second-order formalism of relativistic dissipative hydrodynamics, we parameterize the spectral function in low-frequency and long-wavelength region by two transport coefficients, electric diffusion coefficient $D$ and relaxation time $τ_{\rm J}$, and compared our theoretical dielectron spectra with the experimental data. We study spectrum of dielectrons produced in relativistic heavy ion collision…
The notion of "hadronic freedom" is introduced based on the vector manifestation of hidden local symmetry and is used to suggest that the dileptons measured in relativistic heavy-ion collisions do not provide {\em direct} information on the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry and hence on the mechanism for mass generation of light-quark hadrons. We give arguments how the dileptons emitted from those vector mesons whose masses are shifted à la Brown-Rho (BR) scaling by the vacuum change in temperature -- as in heavy-ion collisions -- and/or density -- as in cold compressed matter -- could b…
We present calculations of dilepton and photon spectra for the energy range $E_{\text{lab}}=2-35$ $A$GeV which will be available for the Compressed Baryonic Matter (CBM) experiment at the future Facility for Anti-Proton and Ion Research (FAIR). The same energy regime will also be covered by phase II of the Beam Energy Scan at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC-BES). Coarse-grained dynamics from microscopic transport calculations of the Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) model is used to determine temperature and chemical potentials, which allows for the use of dilepto…
Due to their penetrating nature, dileptons are a valuable probe for the properties of the hot and/or dense medium created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Dilepton invariant-mass spectra provide direct access to the properties of the electromagnetic current-correlation function in strongly interacting matter. In this paper an overview is given of our current theoretical understanding of the dilepton phenomenology in comparison to recent data in heavy-ion collisions at the CERN SPS.
We calculate the transverse momentum and invariant mass dependence of elliptic flow of thermal dileptons for Au+Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. The system is described using hydrodynamics, with the assumption of formation of a thermalized quark-gluon plasma at some early time, followed by cooling through expansion, hadronization and decoupling. Dileptons are emitted throughout the expansion history: by annihilation of quarks and anti-quarks inthe early quark-gluon plasma stage and through a set of hadronic reactions during the late hadronic stage. The resulting differenti…
We discuss the status of a subset of penetrating probes in relativistic nuclear collisions. Thermal photons and dileptons are considered, as well as the electromagnetic signature of jets.
We calculate a novel "magnetic contribution" to the dilepton spectrum in heavy-ion collisions arising from interaction of relativistic quarks with intense magnetic field. Synchrotron radiation by quarks, which can be approximated by the equivalent photon flux, is followed by dilepton decay of photons in intense magnetic field. We argue that "magnetic contribution" dominates the dilepton spectrum at low lepton energies, whereas a conventional photon dilepton decay dominates at higher lepton energies.
The ratio of transverse momentum distribution of thermal photons to dilepton has been evaluated. It is observed that this ratio reaches a plateau beyond a certain value of transverse momentum. We argue that this ratio can be used to estimate the initial temperature of the system by selecting the transverse momentum and invariance mass windows judiciously. It is demonstrated that if the radial flow is large then the plateau disappear and hence a deviation from the plateau can be used as an indicator of large radial flow. The sensitivity of the results on various input parameters has been studie…
Starting from IP-Glasma initial conditions, we investigate the effects of bulk pressure on thermal dilepton production at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies. Though results of the thermal dilepton $v_2$ under the influence of both bulk and shear viscosity is presented for top RHIC energy, more emphasis is put on LHC energy where such a calculation is computed for the first time. The effects of the bulk pressure on thermal dilepton $v_2$ at the LHC are explored through bulk-induced modifications on the dilepton yield.
We summarize our current theoretical understanding of in-medium properties of the electromagnetic current correlator in view of recent dimuon data from the NA60 experiment in In(158 AGeV)-In collisions at the CERN-SPS. We discuss the sensitivity of the results to space-time evolution models for the hot and dense partonic and hadronic medium created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions and the contributions from different sources to the dilepton-excess spectra.
Dileptons are considered as one of the cleanest signals of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), however, the QGP radiation is masked by many 'background' sources from either hadronic decays or semileptonic decays from correlated charm pairs. In this study we investigate the relative contribution of these channels in heavy-ion collisions from $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=$ 8 GeV to 5 TeV with a focus on the competition between the thermal QGP radiation and the semileptonic decays from correlated $D-$meson pairs. As a 'tool' we employ the parton-hadron-string dynamics (PHSD) transport approach to study dilepton …
In this PhD thesis we analyze the medium modification of the pi-omega-rho coupling and subsequently discuss its possible influence on the dilepton production rate in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the medium modifications of the Dalitz decays from the omega and rho mesons in nuclear matter. We use the relativistic field theory formalism describing modifications of the coupling by one-loop Feynman diagrams with nucleons and Delta(1232) isobars. We consider cases when the decaying particle is at rest or at motion with respect to the medium. We inves…
We present a fully relativistic and gauge invariant framework for calculating the cross sections of dilepton production in nucleon-nucleon (NN) collisions which is based on the meson-exchange approximation for the NN scattering amplitudes. Predictions of our model are compared with those of other covariant models that have been used to describe this reaction. We discuss the comparison of our calculations with the old DLS and the recent HADES data.
In this contribution we study the effects of three transport coefficients of dissipative hydrodynamics on thermal dilepton anisotropic flow observables. The first two transport coefficients investigated influence the overall size and growth rate of shear viscous pressure, while the last transport coefficient governs the magnitude of net baryon number diffusion in relativistic dissipative fluid dynamics. All calculations are done using state-of-the-art 3+1D hydrodynamical simulations. We show that thermal dileptons are sensitive probes of the transport coefficients of dissipative hydrodynamics.
We include effects of chiral symmetry and its restoration in the kinetic equations for baryon propagation and explore the consequences for $η$, $π^0$, $ρ$ and dilepton production in heavy-ion collisions at 1-2A GeV. Numerical calculations are performed using the GiBUU microscopic transport model supplemented by the parity-doublet model for the mean fields of the nucleon and the $N^*(1535)$ resonance. In this chiral model, a strong dropping of the Dirac mass of the $N^*(1535)$ in the high-density stage of a collision leads to a considerable enhancement in the production of this resonance as com…
We study the dynamics of open charm production and the dilepton radiation of the semi-leptonic decays of correlated $D\bar D$ pairs versus the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) radiation and hadronic sources in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Our study is based on the Parton-Hadron-String Dynamics (PHSD) transport approach employing a non-perturbative QCD description of the strongly interacting quark-gluon plasma (sQGP) in terms of dynamical quasiparticles and the EoS based on lattice QCD. We compare the PHSD results for charm observables with the calculations from BAMPS (Boltzmann Approach to Multi…
We present a fully relativistic and gauge invariant framework for calculating the cross sections of dilepton production in nucleon-nucleon ($NN$) collisions which is based on the meson-exchange approximation for the $NN$ scattering amplitudes. Predictions of our model are compared with those of other covariant models that have been used earlier to describe this reaction. Our results are also compared with those of the semiclassical models which are employed to get the input elementary cross sections in the transport model calculations of the dilepton production in nucleus-nucleus collisions. I…
High-energy collisions of various nuclei, so called ``Little Bangs'' are observed at various experiments of heavy ion colliders. The time evolution of the strongly interacting quark-gluon plasma created in heavy ion collisions can be described by hydrodynamical models. After expansion and cooling, the hadrons are created in a freeze-out. Their distribution describes the final state of this medium. To investigate the time evolution one needs to analyze penetrating probes, such as direct photon or dilepton observables, as these particles are created throughout the evolution of the medium. In thi…
The collective behavior of hadrons and of electromagnetic radiation in heavy-ion collisions has been widely used to study the properties of the the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). Indeed this collectivity, as measured by anisotropic flow coefficients, can be used to constrain the transport properties of QGP. The goal of this contribution is to investigate the influence of the specific bulk viscosity ($ζ/s$) on dilepton production, both at Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) and Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies. We explore the sensitivity of dileptons to dynamical features that bulk viscosity …
We address the dilepton production from the parton interactions in the early stage of relativistic heavy-ion collisions within the parton-hadron-string dynamics (PHSD) off-shell transport approach. The description of partons in PHSD is based on the dynamical quasiparticle model (DQPM) matched to reproduce lattice QCD results in thermodynamic equilibrium. According to the DQPM the constituents of the strongly interacting quark-gluon plasma (sQGP) are massive and off-shell quasi-particles (quarks and gluons) with broad spectral functions. In order to address the electromagnetic radiation of the …
The dilepton transverse momentum spectra and invariant mass spectra for low $p_T <0.15$~GeV/c in Au+Au collisions of different centralities at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV are studied within the parton-hadron-string dynamics (PHSD) transport approach. The PHSD describes the whole evolution of the system on a microscopic basis, incorporates hadronic and partonic degrees-of-freedom, the dynamical hadronization of partons and hadronic rescattering. For dilepton production in p+p, p+A and A+A reactions the PHSD incorporates the leading hadronic and partonic channels (also for heavy flavors) and inclu…
We discuss the latest theoretical results on direct photon and dilepton production from relativistic heavy-ion collisions. While the dilepton spectra at low invariant mass show in-medium effects like a collisional broadening of the vector meson spectral functions, the dilepton yield at high invariant masses (above 1.1 GeV) is dominated by QGP contributions for central heavy-ion collisions at relativistic energies. The present status of the photon $v_2$ "puzzle" - a large elliptic flow $v_2$ of the direct photons experimentally observed at RHIC and LHC energies - is also addressed. The role of …
We calculate the yield and elliptic flow of mid-rapidity dileptons emitted from the quark-gluon plasma generated in Pb-Pb collisions at LHC. We use relativistic anisotropic hydrodynamics for the 3+1 dimensional evolution of the quark-gluon plasma and convolve this with the momentum-anisotropic local rest frame production rate for dileptons. The effects of momentum anisotropy of the quark distribution functions, viscosity to entropy density ratio, centrality of the collisions, and initial momentum anisotropy on the results are investigated and discussed.
Radiation of dileptons and photons from high energy nuclear collisions provides information on the space-time evolution of the hot dense matter produced therein. We compute this radiation using relativistic hydrodynamics and a coarse-grained version of the microscopic event generator UrQMD, both of which provide a good description of the hadron spectra. The currently most accurate dilepton and photon emission rates from perturbative QCD and from experimentally-based hadronic calculations are used. Comparisons are made to data on central Pb-Pb and Pb-Au collisions taken at the CERN SPS at a bea…
The pi omega rho coupling constant is calculated in a relativistic hadronic framework incorporating nucleons and Delta(1232) isobars. Medium modifications are included. The vertex is analyzed in context of the omega to pi e+e- and rho to pi e+e- Dalitz decays in nuclear matter. A sizeable increase of the widths for these decays is found for invariant mass of dileptons in the range 0.2-0.5 GeV. This increase may help, among other medium effects, to explain the problem of the low-mass dilepton enhancement seen in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.
We present a nonperturbative dynamical study of $e^+e^-$ production in proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions from AGS to SPS energies on the basis of the covariant transport approach HSD. For p + Be reactions the dilepton yield for invariant masses $M \leq 1.4$ GeV is found to be dominated by the decays of the $η, ρ, ω$ and $Φ$ mesons at all energies from 10 -- 450 GeV. For nucleus-nucleus collisions, however, the dilepton yield shows an additional large contribution from $π^+π^-$, $K^+K^-$ and $πρ$ channels. Systematic studies are presented for the 'free' meson mass scenario in compar…
We carry out a study of intermediate-mass (between 1 and 2.5 GeV) dilepton spectra from hadronic interactions in heavy-ion collisions. The processes considered are $ππ\to l{\bar l}$, $πρ\to l{\bar l}$, $πa_1\to l{\bar l}$, $πω\to l{\bar l}$, $K{\bar K}\to l{\bar l}$, and $K{\bar K^*}+c.c \to l{\bar l}$. The elementary cross sections for those are obtained from chiral Lagrangians involving pseudoscalar, vector, and axial-vector mesons. The respective electromagnetic form factors are determined by fitting to experimental data for the reverse processes of $e^+e^-\to hadrons$. Based on this input …
Dilepton and photon production in heavy-ion collisions at SPS energies is studied in the relativistic transport model that incorporates self-consistently the change of hadron masses in dense matter. It is found that the dilepton spectra in proton-nucleus reactions can be well described by the conventional mechanisms of Dalitz decay, primary vector meson decay, decay of charmed mesons, and the initial Drell-Yan processes. However, to provide a quantitative explanation of the observed dilepton spectra in central heavy-ion collisions requires contributions other than these direct decays and also …
We discuss properties of photons in extremely strong magnetic fields induced by the relativistic heavy-ion collisions. We investigate the vacuum birefringence, the real-photon decay, and the photon splitting which are all forbidden in the ordinary vacuum, but become possible in strong magnetic fields. These effects potentially give rise to anisotropies in photon and dilepton spectra.
Assuming that in the hot dense matter produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions, the energy density, entropy density, and pressure as well as the azimuthal and space-time rapidity components of the shear tensor are uniform in the direction transversal to the reaction plane, we derive a set of schematic equations from the Isreal-Stewart causal viscous hydrodynamics. These equations are then used to describe the evolution dynamics of relativistic heavy-ion collisions by taking the shear viscosity to entropy density ratio of $1/4π$ for the initial quark-gluon plasma (QGP) phase and of ten tim…
We address dilepton production in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN)=200 GeV by employing the parton-hadron-string dynamics (PHSD) off-shell transport approach. Within the PHSD one goes beyond the quasiparticle approximation by solving generalized transport equations on the basis of the off-shell Kadanoff-Baym equations for the Green's functions in the phase-space representation. The approach consistently describes the full evolution of a relativistic heavy-ion collision from the initial hard scatterings and string formation through the dynamical deconfinement phase transition to the quark-gluon p…
The properties of electromagnetic radiation from hot fireballs as created in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions are reviewed. We first outline how the medium effects in the electromagnetic spectral function, which governs thermal production rates, relate to the (partial) restoration of chiral symmetry. In particular, we show how chiral and QCD sum rules, together with constraints from lattice QCD, can render these relations quantitative. Turning to dilepton data, we elaborate on updates in the space-time evolution and quark-gluon plasma emission rates from lattice-QCD calculations. With a…
It is shown that production of low-mass $e^+e^-$-pairs in ultraperipheral nuclear collisions is enhanced due to the Sommerfeld-Gamow-Sakharov (SGS) factor. This effect is especially strong near the threshold of creation of unbound $e^+e^-$-pairs with low masses in the two-photon fusion. Coulomb attraction of the non-relativistic components of such pairs may lead to the increased intensity of 511 keV photons. It can be recorded at the NICA collider and has some astrophysical implications. The analogous effect can be observed at LHC in dilepton production.
The elliptic flows of thermal di-electrons are investigated within a (2+1)-dimension event-by-event hydrodynamic model for Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV. The fluctuating initial conditions are given by the Monte Carlo Glauber model. We find in our event-by-event calculation rather weak correlation between the dilepton emission angles and the event plane angles of charged hadrons. We observe strong fluctuation effects in dilepton elliptic flows when using the event plane angles of dileptons at specific invariant mass $M$. The correlation between the dilepton event plane angle and …
The effects of collisional processes in the hot QCD medium to thermal dilepton production from $q\overline{q}$ annihilation in relativistic heavy-ion collisions have been investigated. The non-equilibrium corrections to the momentum distribution function have been estimated within the framework of ensemble-averaged diffusive Vlasov-Boltzmann equation, encoding the effects of collisional processes and turbulent chromo-fields in the medium. The contributions from the $2\rightarrow2$ elastic scattering processes have been quantified for the thermal dilepton production rate. It is seen that the co…
Dilepton production in heavy-ion collisions at various energies is studied using coarse-grained transport simulations. Microscopic output from the Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) model is hereby put on a grid of space-time cells which allows to extract the local temperature and chemical potential in each cell via an equation of state. The dilepton emission is then calculated applying in-medium spectral functions from hadronic many-body theory and partonic production rates based on lattice calculations. The comparison of the resulting spectra with experimental data shows t…
Using a relativistic transport model for the expansion stage of S+Au collisions at 200 GeV/nucleon, we show that the recently observed enhancement of low-mass dileptons by the CERES collaboration can be explained by the decrease of vector meson masses in hot and dense hadronic matter.
A measurement for studying the mass dependence of the dilepton interferometry in relativistic heavy-ion collision experiments as a tool to characterize the quark-gluon phase is proposed. In calculations involving dileptons, we show that the mass dependence of radii extracted from the virtual photon (dilepton) interferometry provide access to the development of collective flow with time. It is argued that the non-monotonic variation of HBT radii with invariant mass of the lepton pairs signals the formation of quark gluon plasma in heavy ion collisions. Our proposal of experimentally measuring t…
This paper addresses the theoretical analysis of dilepton spectra in C+C collisions at GSI-SIS energies. Theoretical predictions for the recent data of the HADES collaboration at SIS-energies are made with the help of a hadron-string transport model, the Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) model. A mass shift of the $ρ$ meson due to kinematical effects is discussed.
The vacuum polarisation effects from the nucleon sector lead to large medium modifications of the vector meson masses in the Walecka model. With a quantum hadrodynamic framework including the quantum effects, and using a quasiparticle description for quark gluon plasma(QGP), the dilepton emission rate from the hot and dense matter resulting from relativistic nuclear collisions is calculated. Using a model for the fireball evolution which has been shown to reproduce other observables such as charmonium suppression, photon emission and the abundance of hadronic species, we compare with the dilep…
Medium Effects in low-mass dilepton production in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions are investigated using hadronic models. The rescattering of pions and rho mesons within a hot and dense hadron gas leads to substantial modifications in the $π^+π^- \to e^+ e^-$ annihilation process, which are shown to be important for understanding the recently observed dilepton enhancement at the CERN-SpS. Possible implications for the nature of the chiral phase transition are outlined.
We use the relativistic perfect-fluid hydrodynamics to describe the space-time evolution of dense baryonic matter produced in the central nucleus-nucleus collisions at HIRFL-CSR, HIAF, FAIR-CBM, NICA-MPD, and RHIC-BES. The transverse flow of the fireball with cylindrical symmetry and boost invariant along the longitudinal direction is also analyzed. Based on the relativistic kinetic theory, we also present the first preliminary calculation on the production of low-mass dileptons and low-pT photons can be considered as the signals of the dense baryonic matter produced in the central Au-Au and U…
We study the dilepton production in heavy-ion collisions at energies of 1-2 AGeV as well as in proton induced pp, pn, pd and p+A reactions from 1 GeV up to 3.5 GeV. For the analysis we employ three different transport models - the microscopic off-shell Hadron-String-Dynamics (HSD) transport approach, the Isospin Quantum Molecular Dynamics (IQMD) approach as well as the Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) approach. We confirm the experimentally observed enhancement of the dilepton yield (normalized to the multiplicity of neutral pions $N_{π^0}$) in heavy-ion collisions with re…
