In this work we investigate generalized kappa-deformed spaces. We develop a systematic method for constructing realizations of noncommutative (NC) coordinates as formal power series in the Weyl algebra. All realizations are related by a group of similarity transformations, and to each realization we associate a unique ordering prescription. Generalized derivatives, the Leibniz rule and coproduct, as well as the star-product are found in all realizations. The star-product and Drinfel'd twist operator are given in terms of the coproduct, and the twist operator is derived explicitly in special realizations. The theory is applied to a Nappi-Witten type of NC space.
In order to obtain free kappa-deformed quantum fields (with c-number commutators) we proposed new concept of kappa-deformed oscillator algebra [1] and the modification of kappa-star product [2], implementing in the product of two quantum fields the change of standard kappa-deformed mass-shell conditions. We recall here that the kappa-deformed oscillators recently introduced in [3]-[5] lie on standard kappa-deformed mass-shell. Firstly, we study kappa-deformed fields with the standard kappa-star product, what implies that in the oscillator algebra the corresponding kappa-deformed oscillators li…
We describe the deformed E.T. quantization rules for kappa-deformed free quantum fields, and relate these rules with the kappa-deformed algebra of field oscillators.
We describe the generators of kappa-conformal transformations, leaving invariant the kappa-deformed d'Alembert equation. In such a way one obtains the conformal extension of the off-shell spin zero realization of kappa-deformed Poincare algebra. Finally the algebraic structure of kappa-deformed conformal algebra is discussed.
In kappa-deformed relativistic framework we consider three different definitions of kappa-deformed velocities and introduce corresponding addition laws. We show that one of the velocities has classical relativistic addition law. The relation of velocity formulae with the coproduct for fourmomenta and noncommutative space-time structure is exhibited.
We twist the Hopf algebra of igl(n,R) to obtain the kappa-deformed spacetime coordinates. Coproducts of the twisted Hopf algebras are explicitly given. The kappa-deformed spacetime obtained this way satisfies the same commutation relation as that of the conventional kappa-Minkowski spacetime, but its Hopf algebra structure is different from the well known kappa-deformed Poincare algebra in that it has larger symmetry algebra than the kappa-Minkowski case. There are some physical models which consider this symmetry. Incidentally, we obtain the canonical (theta-deformed) non-commutative spacetim…
To speak about identical particles - bosons or fermions - in quantum field theories with kappa-deformed Poincare symmetry, one must have a kappa-covariant notion of particle exchange. This means constructing intertwiners of the relevant representations of kappa-Poincare. We show, in the simple case of spinless particles, that intertwiners exist, and, supported by a perturbative calculation to third order in 1/kappa, make a conjecture about the existence and uniqueness of a certain preferred intertwiner defining particle exchange in kappa-deformed theories.
Recently there were presented several proposals how to formulate the binary relations describing kappa-deformed oscillator algebras. In this paper we shall consider multilinear products of kappa-deformed oscillators consistent with the axioms of braided algebras. In general case the braided triple products are quasi-associative and satisfy the hexagon condition depending on the coassociator $Phi \in A\otimes A\otimes A$. We shall consider only the products of kappa-oscillators consistent with co-associative braided algebra, with Phi =1. We shall consider three explicite examples of binary kapp…
In a related paper we have obtained that the effective action for a kappa-deformed quantum field theory has a real and an imaginary part. The real part is half the sum of the kappa-deformed zero mode frequencies, while the imaginary part is proportional to the sum of the squares of the zero mode frequencies, being proportional to the inverse of kappa. Here we calculate this imaginary part for the kappa-deformed electromagnetic field confined between two perfectly conducting parallel plates. After renormalization this imaginary part gives a creation rate of kappa-deformed electromagnetic radiat…
In this note we present an approach using both constructive and Hopf algebraic methods to contribute to the not yet fully satisfactory definition of an integral on kappa-deformed spacetime. The integral presented here is based on the inner product of differential forms and it is shown that this integral is explicitly invariant under the deformed symmetry structure.
In this paper, we analyze the Hawking radiation of a kappa-deformed Schwarzchild black hole and obtain the deformed Hawking temperature. For this, we first derive deformed metric for the kappa-spacetime, which in the generic case, is not a symmetric tensor and also has a momentum dependence. We show that the Schwarzchild metric obtained in the kappa-deformed spacetime has a dependence on energy. We use the fact that the deformed metric is conformally flat in the 1+1 dimensions, to solve the kappa-deformed Klein-Gordon equation in the background of the Schwarzchild metric. The method of Bogulio…
We describe the generalized kappa-deformations of D=4 relativistic symmetries with finite masslike deformation parameter kappa and an arbitrary direction in kappa-deformed Minkowski space being noncommutative. The corresponding bicovariant differential calculi on kappa-deformed Minkowski spaces are considered. Two distinguished cases are discussed: 5D noncommutative differential calculus (kappa-deformation in time-like or space-like direction), and 4D noncommutative differential calculus having the classical dimension (noncommutative kappa-deformation in light-like direction). We introduce als…
We consider the quantization of a scalar kappa-deformed field up to the point of obtaining an expression for its vacuum energy. The expression is given by the half sum of the field frequencies, as in the non-deformed case, but with the frequencies obeying the kappa-deformed dispersion relation. We consider a set of kappa-deformed Maxwell equations and show that for the purpose of calculating the Casimir energy the Maxwell field, as in the non-deformed case, behaves as a pair of scalar fields. Those results provide a foundation for computing the Casimir energy starting from the the half sum of …
We present Lie-algebraic deformations of Minkowski space with undeformed Poincare algebra. These deformations interpolate between Snyder and kappa-Minkowski space. We find realizations of noncommutative coordinates in terms of commutative coordinates and derivatives. Deformed Leibniz rule, the coproduct structure and star product are found. Special cases, particularly Snyder and kappa-Minkowski in Maggiore-type realizations are discussed. Our construction leads to a new class of deformed special relativity theories.
In this paper, we derive the expression for spectral dimension using a modified diffusion equation in the kappa-deformed space-time. We start with the Beltrami-Laplace operator in the kappa-Minkowski space-time and obtain the deformed diffusion equation. From the solution of this deformed diffusion equation, we calculate the spectral dimension which depends on the deformation parameter `$a$' and also on an integer `$k$', apart from the topological dimension. Using this, we show that, for large diffusion times the spectral dimension approaches the usual topological dimension where as spectral d…
We consider the exchange of identical scalar particles in theories with kappa-deformed Poincare symmetry. We argue that, at least in 1+1 dimensions, the symmetric group S_N can be realized on the space of N-particle states in a kappa-covariant fashion. For the case of two particles this realization is unique: we show that there is only one non-trivial intertwiner, which automatically squares to the identity.
A simple, but effcient way of calculating regularized Casimir energies suitable for non-trivial frequency spectra is briefly described and applied to the case of a kappa-deformed scalar field theory. The results are consistent with the ones obtained by other means.
We study the solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional kappa-deformed Dirac oscillator in the presence of a constant transverse magnetic field. We demonstrate how the deformation parameter affects the energy eigenvalues of the system and the corresponding eigenfunctions. Our findings suggest that this system could be used to detect experimentally the effect of the deformation. We also show that the hidden supersymmetry of the non-deformed system reduces to a hidden pseudo-supersymmetry having the same algebraic structure as a result of the k-deformation.
We study Lie algebra $κ$-deformed Euclidean space with undeformed rotation algebra $SO_a(n)$ and commuting vectorlike derivatives. Infinitely many realizations in terms of commuting coordinates are constructed and a corresponding star product is found for each of them. The $κ$-deformed noncommutative space of the Lie algebra type with undeformed Poincar{é} algebra and with the corresponding deformed coalgebra is constructed in a unified way.
In this paper, we derive the non-commutative corrections to the maximal acceleration of a massive particle. Using the eight-dimensional kappa-deformed phase-space metric, we obtain the kappa-deformed maximal acceleration, valid up to first order in the deformation parameter. We then derive the kappa-deformed geodesic equation and obtain its Newtonian limit and from this obtain a bound on the deformation parameter. After re-expressing the kappa-deformed Schwarzschild metric in terms of maximal acceleration, we analyse the motion of a particle in this space-time, and also study the modifications…
In a quantum field with spacetime invariance governed by the Poincare algebra the one-loop effective action is equal to the sum of zero modes frequencies, which is the vacuum energy of the field. The first Casimir invariant of the Poincare algebra provides the proper time Hamiltonian in Schwinger's proper time representation of the effective action. We consider here a massive neutral scalar field with spacetime invariance governed by the so called kappa-deformed Poincare algebra. We show here that if in the kappa-deformed theory the first Casimir invariant of the algebra is also used as the pr…
We consider the general D=4 (10+10)-dimensional kappa-deformed quantum phase space as given by Heisenberg double \mathcal{H} of D=4 kappa-deformed Poincare-Hopf algebra H. The standard (4+4) -dimensional kappa - deformed covariant quantum phase space spanned by kappa - deformed Minkowski coordinates and commuting momenta generators ({x}_{μ},{p}_{μ}) is obtained as the subalgebra of \mathcal{H}. We study further the property that Heisenberg double defines particular quantum spaces with Hopf algebroid structure. We calculate by using purely algebraic methods the explicite Hopf algebroid structur…
The model of kappa-deformed space is an interesting example of a noncommutative space, since it allows a deformed symmetry. In this paper we present new results concerning different sets of derivatives on the coordinate algebra of kappa-deformed Euclidean space. We introduce a differential calculus with two interesting sets of one-forms and higher-order forms. The transformation law of vector fields is constructed in accordance with the transformation behaviour of derivatives. The crucial property of the different derivatives, forms and vector fields is that in an n-dimensional spacetime there…
We consider the physical implications of various choices of the three-momentum basis in the kappa-deformed Poincare algebra. In particular, we find that the energy dependence of the velocity of a kappa-particle leads to unexpected features in kappa-deformed kinematics. We also discuss the notion of kappa-deformed dynamics, and as a tool example we investigate the motion of a kappa-deformed particle under the action of a constant force.
We briefly discuss the twisting procedure applied to the $κ$-deformed space-time. It appears that one can consider only two kinds of such twistings: in space and time directions. For both types of twisitngs we introduce related phase spaces and consider briefly their properties. We discuss in detail the changes of duality relations under the action of twist. The Jordanian twisted space-time and phase space in D=2 are also commented.
We transform the oscillator algebra with kappa-deformed multiplication rule, proposed in [1],[2], into the oscillator algebra with kappa-deformed flip operator and standard multiplication. We recall that the kappa-multiplication of the kappa-oscillators puts them off-shell. We study the explicit forms of modified mass-shell conditions in both formulations: with kappa-multiplication and with kappa-flip operation. On the example of kappa-deformed 2-particle states we study the clustered nonfactorizable form of the kappa-deformed multiparticle states. We argue that the kappa-deformed star product…
A general formalism is developed that allows the construction of a field theory on quantum spaces which are deformations of ordinary spacetime. The symmetry group of spacetime (Poincar\' e group) is replaced by a quantum group. This formalism is demonstrated for the kappa-deformed Poincaré algebra and its quantum space. The algebraic setting is mapped to the algebra of functions of commuting variables with a suitable star-product. Fields are elements of this function algebra. The Dirac and Klein-Gordon equation are defined and an action is found from which they can be derived.
We study the quantization of a linear scalar field, whose symmetries are described by the kappa-Poincare' Hopf-algebra, via deformed Fock space construction. The one-particle sector of the theory exhibits a natural (planckian) cut-off for the field modes. At the multi-particle level the non-trivial co-algebra structure of kappa-Poincare' leads to a deformed bosonization in the construction of Fock space states. These physical states carry energy-momentum charges which are divergenceless and obey a deformed dispersion relation.
We derive the modified diffusion equations defined on kappa-space-time and using these, investigate the change in the spectral dimension of kappa-space-time with the probe scale. These deformed diffusion equations are derived by applying Wick's rotation to the $κ$-deformed Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger equations obtained from different choices of Klein-Gordon equations in the $κ$-deformed space-time. Using the solutions of these equations, obtained by perturbative method, we calculate the spectral dimension for different choices of the generalized Laplacian and analyse the dimensional flow in the $κ$-s…
We study a Lie algebra type $κ$-deformed space with undeformed rotation algebra and commutative vector-like Dirac derivatives in a covariant way. Space deformation depends on an arbitrary vector. Infinitely many covariant realizations in terms of commuting coordinates of undeformed space and their derivatives are constructed. The corresponding coproducts and star products are found and related in a new way. All covariant realizations are physically equivalent. Specially, a few simple realizations are found and discussed. The scalar fields, invariants and the notion of invariant integration is …
We consider two realizations of the $κ$-deformed phase space obtained as a cross product algebra extension of $k$-Poincaré algebra. Two kinds of the kappa-deformed uncertainty relations are briefly discussed.
We investigate the spectral dimension of $κ$-space-time using the $κ$-deformed diffusion equation. The deformed equation is constructed for two different choices of Laplacians in $n$-dimensional, $κ$-deformed Euclidean space-time. We use an approach where the deformed Laplacians are expressed in the commutative space-time itself. Using the perturbative solutions to diffusion equations, we calculate the spectral dimension of $κ$-deformed space-time and show that it decreases as the probe length decreases. By introducing a bound on the deformation parameter, spectral dimension is guaranteed to b…
We construct a differential algebra of forms on the kappa-deformed space. For a given realization of the noncommutative coordinates as formal power series in the Weyl algebra we find an infinite family of one-forms and nilpotent exterior derivatives. We derive explicit expressions for the exterior derivative and one-forms in covariant and noncovariant realizations. We also introduce higher-order forms and show that the exterior derivative satisfies the graded Leibniz rule. The differential forms are generally not graded-commutative, but they satisfy the graded Jacobi identity. We also consider…
We show that, up to terms of order 1/kappa^5, the kappa-deformed Poincare algebra can be endowed with a triangular quasibialgebra structure. The universal R matrix and coassociator are given explicitly to the first few orders. In the context of kappa-deformed quantum field theory, we argue that this structure, assuming it exists to all orders, ensures that states of any number of identical particles, in any representation, can be defined in a kappa-covariant fashion.
This study of gauge field theories on kappa-deformed Minkowski spacetime extends previous work on field theories on this example of a noncommutative spacetime. We construct deformed gauge theories for arbitrary compact Lie groups using the concept of enveloping algebra-valued gauge transformations and the Seiberg-Witten formalism. Derivative-valued gauge fields lead to field strength tensors as the sum of curvature- and torsion-like terms. We construct the Lagrangians explicitly to first order in the deformation parameter. This is the first example of a gauge theory that possesses a deformed L…
The quantum phase space described by Heisenberg algebra possesses undeformed Hopf algebroid structure. The $κ$-deformed phase space with noncommutative coordinates is realized in terms of undeformed quantum phase space. There are infinitely many such realizations related by similarity transformations. For a given realization we construct corresponding coproducts of commutative coordinates and momenta (bialgebroid structure). The $κ$-deformed phase space has twisted Hopf algebroid structure. General method for the construction of twist operator (satisfying cocycle and normalization condition) c…
We propose a generalized description for the kappa-Poincare-Hopf algebra as a symmetry quantum group of underlying kappa-Minkowski spacetime. We investigate all the possible implementations of (deformed) Lorentz algebras which are compatible with the given choice of kappa-Minkowski algebra realization. For the given realization of kappa-Minkowski spacetime there is a unique kappa-Poincare-Hopf algebra with undeformed Lorentz algebra. We have constructed a three-parameter family of deformed Lorentz generators with kappa-Poincare algebras which are related to kappa-Poincare-Hopf algebra with und…
We consider different realizations for the momentum sector of kappa-Poincare Hopf algebra, which is associated with a curved momentum space. We show that the notion of the particle mass as introduced recently by Amelino-Camelia et al. in the context of relative-locality is realization independent for a wide class of realizations, up to linear order in deformation parameter l. On the other hand, the time delay formula clearly shows a dependence on the choice of realization.
This paper is presented on the occasion of 60-th birthday of Jose Adolfo de Azcarraga who in his very rich scientific curriculum vitae has also a chapter devoted to studies of quantum-deformed symmetries, in particular deformations of relativistic and Galilean space-time symmetries [1-4]. In this paper we provide new steps toward describing the $κ$-deformed D=4 conformal group transformations. We consider the quantization of D=4 conformal group with dimensionful deformation parameter $κ$. Firstly we discuss the noncommutativity following from the Lie-Poisson structure described by the light-co…
We study the commutators of the kappa-deformed Poincare Algebra (kappaPA) in an arbitrary basis. It is known that the two recently studied doubly special relativity theories correspond to different choices of kappaPA bases. We present another such example. We consider the classical limit of kappaPA and calculate particle velocity in an arbitrary basis. It has standard properties and its expression takes a simple form in terms of the variables in the Snyder basis. We then study the particle trajectory explicitly for the case of a constant force. Assuming that the spacetime continuum, velocity, …
We construct discrete symmetry transformations for deformed relativistic kinematics based on group valued momenta. We focus on the specific example of kappa-deformations of the Poincare algebra with associated momenta living on (a sub-manifold of) de Sitter space. Our approach relies on the description of quantum states constructed from deformed kinematics and the observable charges associated with them. The results we present provide the first step towards the analysis of experimental bounds on the deformation parameter kappa to be derived via precision measurements of discrete symmetries and…
It has been a long-standing issue to construct the statistics of identical particles in $κ$-deformed spacetime. In this letter, we investigate different ideas on this problem. Following the ideas of Young and Zegers, we obtain the covariant and on-shell kappa two-particle state in 1+1 D in a simpler way. Finally, a procedure to get such state in higher dimension is proposed.
We investigate the properties of kappa-Minkowski spacetime by using representations of the corresponding deformed algebra in terms of undeformed Heisenberg-Weyl algebra. The deformed algebra consists of kappa-Poincare algebra extended with the generators of the deformed Weyl algebra. The part of deformed algebra, generated by rotation, boost and momentum generators, is described by the Hopf algebra structure. The approach used in our considerations is completely Lorentz covariant. We further use an adventages of this approach to consistently construct a star product which has a property that u…
I shall recall in historical perspective some results from nineties and show further how $κ$-deformed symmetries and $κ$-Minkowski space inspired DSR (Doubly of Deformed Special Relativity) approach proposed after 2000. As very recent development I shall show how to describe quantum-covariant $κ$-deformed phase spaces by passing from Hopf algebras to Hopf algebroids (arXiv:1507.02612) and I will briefly describe the $κ$-deformations of $AdS_5 \times S^5$ superstring target spaces (arXiv:1510.030.83).
We investigate a Lie algebra-type $ κ$-deformed Minkowski space-time with undeformed Lorentz algebra and mutually commutative vector-like Dirac derivatives. There are infinitely many realizations of $ κ$-Minkowski space. The coproduct and the star product corresponding to each of them are found. Utilizing the properties of the {\em{natural}} realization, we construct a scalar field theory on $ κ$-deformed Minkowski space and show that it is equivalent to the scalar, nonlocal, relativistically invariant field theory on the ordinary Minkowski space.
I introduce in kappa-Minkowski noncommutative spacetime the basic tools of quantum differential geometry, namely bicovariant differential calculus, Lie and inner derivatives, the integral, the Hodge-star and the metric. I show the relevance of these tools for field theory with an application to complex scalar field, for which I am able to identify a vector-valued four-form which generalizes the energy-momentum tensor. Its closedness is proved, expressing in a covariant form the conservation of energy-momentum.
We describe the deformed covariant phase space corresponding to the so-called kappa-deformation of D=4 relativistic symmetries, with quantum ``time'' coordinate and Heisenberg algebra obtained according to the Heisenberg double construction. The associated modified uncertainty relations are analyzed, and in particular it is shown that these relations are consistent with independent estimates of quantum-gravity limitations on the measurability of space-time distances.
The dissertation presents possibilities of applying noncommutative spacetimes description, particularly kappa-deformed Minkowski spacetime and Drinfeld's deformation theory, as a mathematical formalism for Doubly Special Relativity theories (DSR), which are thought as phenomenological limit of quantum gravity theory. Deformed relativistic symmetries are described within Hopf algebra language. In the case of (quantum) kappa-Minkowski spacetime the symmetry group is described by the (quantum) kappa-Poincare Hopf algebra. Deformed relativistic symmetries were used to construct the DSR algebra, wh…
We show that the maximal extension sl(2) times psl(2|2) times C3 of the sl(2|2) superalgebra can be obtained as a contraction limit of the semi-simple superalgebra d(2,1;epsilon) times sl(2). We reproduce earlier results on the corresponding q-deformed Hopf algebra and its universal R-matrix by means of contraction. We make the curious observation that the above algebra is related to kappa-Poincaré symmetry. When dropping the graded part psl(2|2) we find a novel one-parameter deformation of the 3D kappa-Poincaré algebra. Our construction also provides a concise exact expression for its univers…
We consider two twist operators that lead to kappa-Poincare Hopf algebra, the first being an Abelian one and the second corresponding to a light-like kappa-deformation of Poincare algebra. The advantage of the second one is that it is expressed solely in terms of Poincare generators. In contrast to this, the Abelian twist goes out of the boundaries of Poincare algebra and runs into envelope of the general linear algebra. Some of the physical applications of these two different twist operators are considered. In particular, we use the Abelian twist to construct the statistics flip operator comp…
We unify kappa-Minkowki spacetime and Lorentz algebra in unique Lie algebra. Introducing commutative momenta, a family of kappa-deformed Heisenberg algebras and kappa-deformed Poincare algebras are defined. They are specified by the matrix depending on momenta. We construct all such matrices. Realizations and star product are defined and analyzed in general and specially, their relation to coproduct of momenta is pointed out. Hopf algebra of the Poincare algebra, related to the covariant realization, is presented in unified covariant form. Left-right dual realizations and dual algebra are intr…
We consider the issue of statistics for identical particles or fields in kappa-deformed spaces, where the system admits a symmetry group G. We obtain the twisted flip operator compatible with the action of the symmetry group, which is relevant for describing particle statistics in presence of the noncommutativity. It is shown that for a special class of realizations, the twisted flip operator is independent of the ordering prescription.
In this article we use the noncommutative (NC) kappa-Minkowski phi^4 model based on the kappa-deformed star product, ({*}_h). The action is modified by expanding up to linear order in the kappa-deformation parameter a, producing an effective model on commutative spacetime. For the computation of the tadpole diagram contributions to the scalar field propagation/self-energy, we anticipate that statistics on the kappa-Minkowski is specifically kappa-deformed. Thus our prescription in fact represents hybrid approach between standard quantum field theory (QFT) and NCQFT on the kappa-deformed Minkow…
General realizations, star products and plane waves for kappa-Minkowski spacetime are considered. Systematic construction of general hermitian realization is presented, with special emphasis on noncommutative plane waves and hermitian star product. Few examples are elaborated and possible physical applications are mentioned.
We study presence of an additional symmetry of a generic central potential in the $κ$-space-time. An explicit construction of Fradkin and Bacry, Ruegg, Souriau (FBRS) for a central potential is carried out and the piece-wise conserved nature of the vector is established. We also extend the study to Kepler systems with a drag term, particularly Gorringe-Leach equation is generalized to the $κ$-deformed space. The possibility of mapping Gorringe-Leach equation to an equation with out drag term is exploited in associating a similar conserved vector to system with a drag term. An extension of dual…
The theory of the $κ$-deformed Poincare algebra is applied to the analysis of various phenomena in special relativity, quantum mechanics and field theory. The method relies on the development of series expansions in $κ^{-1}$ of the generalised Lorentz transformations, about the special-relativistic limit. Emphasis is placed on the underlying assumptions needed in each part of the discussion, and on in principle limits for the deformation parameter, rather than on rigorous numerical bounds. In the case of the relativistic Doppler effect, and the Michelson-Morley experiment, comparisons with rec…
This study of U(1) gauge field theory on the kappa-deformed Minkowski spacetime extends previous work on gauge field theories on this type of noncommutative spacetime. We discuss in detail the properties of the Seiberg-Witten map and the resulting effective action for U(1) gauge theory with fermionic matter expanded in ordinary fields. We construct the conserved gauge current, fix part of the ambiguities in the Seiberg-Witten map and obtain an effective U(1) action invariant under the action of the undeformed Poincare group.
The q-deformed super Virasoro algebra proposed by Chaichian and Presnajder is examined. Presented is the realizations by the FFZ algebra (the magnetic translation algebra) defined on a two-dimensional lattice with a supersymmetric Hamiltonian.
In this paper we have analyzed the $κ$-deformed Minkowski spacetime through the light of the interference phenomena in QFT where two opposite chiral fields are put together in the same multiplet and its consequences are discussed. The chiral models analyzed here are the chiral Schwinger model, its generalized version and its gauge invariant version, where a Wess-Zumino term were added. We will see that the final actions obtained here are in fact related to the original ones via duality transformations.
