In this paper, we define the Gröbner-Shirshov basis for a dialgebra. The Composition-Diamond lemma for dialgebras is given then. As results, we give Gröbner-Shirshov bases for the universal enveloping algebra of a Leibniz algebra, the bar extension of a dialgebra, the free product of two dialgebras, and Clifford dialgebra. We obtain some normal forms for algebras mentioned the above.
We establish Gröbner--Shirshov bases theory for commutative dialgebras. We show that for any ideal $I$ of $Di[X]$, $I$ has a unique reduced Gröbner--Shirshov basis, where $Di[X]$ is the free commutative dialgebra generated by a set $X$, in particular, $I$ has a finite Gröbner--Shirshov basis if $X$ is finite. As applications, we give normal forms of elements of an arbitrary commutative disemigroup, prove that the word problem for finitely presented commutative dialgebras (disemigroups) is solvable, and show that if $X$ is finite, then the problem whether two ideals of $Di[X]$ are identical is …
Let $R$ be a ring with identity $1$. Jacobson's lemma states that for any $a,b\in R$, if $1-ab$ is invertible then so is $1-ba$. Jacobson's lemma has suitable analogues for several types of generalized inverses, e.g., Drazin inverse, generalized Drazin inverse, and inner inverse. In this note we give a constructive way via Groebner-Shirshov basis theory to obtain the inverse of $1-ab$ in terms of $(1-ba)^{-1}$, assuming the latter exists.
We establish a universal approach to solution of the word problem in the varieties of di- and tri-algebras. This approach, for example, allows to apply Groebner---Shirshov bases method for Lie algebras to solve the ideal membership problem in free Leibniz algebras (Lie di-algebras). As another application, we prove an analogue of the Poincare---Birkhoff---Witt Theorem for universal enveloping associative tri-algebra of a Lie tri-algebra (CTD^!-algebra).
An algebra $\cal{R}$ is called an extension of the algebra $M$ by $B$ if $M^2=0$, $M$ is an ideal of $\cal{R}$ and $\cal{R}$$/M\cong B$ as algebras. In this paper, by using the Gröbner-Shirshov bases, we characterize completely the extensions of $M$ by $B$. An algorithm to find the conditions of an algebra $A$ to be an extension of $M$ by $B$ is obtained.
In this paper, we establish the Composition-Diamond lemma for associative algebras with multiple linear operators. As applications, we obtain Groebner-Shirshov bases of free Rota-Baxter algebra, $λ$-differential algebra and $λ$-differential Rota-Baxter algebra, respectively. In particular, linear bases of these three free algebras are respectively obtained, which are essentially the same or similar to those obtained by Ebrahimi-Fard and Guo, and Guo and Keigher recently by using other methods.
One of the natural ways to prove that the Hall words (Philip Hall, 1933) consist of a basis of a free Lie algebra is a direct construction: to start with a linear space spanned by Hall words, to define the Lie product of Hall words, and then to check that the product yields the Lie identities (Marshall Hall, 1950). Here we suggest another way using the Composition-Diamond lemma for free anti-commutative (non-associative) algebras (A.I. Shirshov, 1962).
We consider a new version of Composition-Diamond Lemma for dialgebras in order to obtain an explicit Groebner-Shirshov basis for HNN-extension of dialgebras and determine a normal form for that.
In this paper, by using Gröbner-Shirshov bases for Rota-Baxter algebras, we prove that every dendriform dialgebra over a field of characteristic 0 can be embedded into its universal enveloping Rota-Baxter algebra of weight 0.
Let $A$ be a brace algebra. This structure implies that $A$ is also a pre-Lie algebra. In this paper, we establish Composition-Diamond lemma for brace algebras. Using this Composition-Diamond lemma we prove that each pre-Lie algebra $L$ can be embedded into a brace algebra $A_L$, i.e., $L$ is a pre-Lie subalgebra of $A_L$ up to isomorphism. We also determine an explicit linear basis for the brace algebra $A_{L}$.
In this survey article, we report some new results of Groebner-Shirshov bases, including new Composition-Diamond lemmas, applications of some known Composition-Diamond lemmas and content of some expository papers.
Let $Di\langle X\rangle$ be the free dialgebra over a field generated by a set $X$. Let $S$ be a monic subset of $Di\langle X\rangle$. A Composition-Diamond lemma for dialgebras is firstly established by Bokut, Chen and Liu in 2010 \cite{Di} which claims that if (i) $S$ is a Gröbner-Shirshov basis in $Di\langle X\rangle$, then (ii) the set of $S$-irreducible words is a linear basis of the quotient dialgebra $Di\langle X \mid S \rangle$, but not conversely. Such a lemma based on a fixed ordering on normal diwords of $Di\langle X\rangle$ and special definition of composition trivial modulo $S$. …
We first offer a fast method for calculating the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension of a finitely presented commutative algebra by investigating certain finite set. Then we establish a Groebner-Shirshov bases theory for bicommutative algebras, and show that every finitely generated bicommutative algebra has a finite Groebner-Shirshov basis. As an application, we show that the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension of a finitely generated bicommutative algebra is a nonnegative integer.
In this paper, we establish Composition-Diamond lemma for tensor product $k< X> \otimes k< Y>$ of two free algebras over a field. As an application, we construct a Groebner-Shirshov basis in $k< X> \otimes k< Y>$ by lifting a Groebner-Shirshov basis in $k[X] \otimes k< Y>$, where $k[X]$ is a commutative algebra.
In this paper, we study the class of Jordan dialgebras. We develop an approach for reducing problems on dialgebras to the case of ordinary algebras. It is shown that straightforward generalizations of the classical Cohn's, Shirshov's, and Macdonald's Theorems do not hold for dialgebras. However, we prove dialgebraic analogues of these statements. Also, we study polylinear special identities which hold in all special Jordan algebras and do not hold in all Jordan algebras. We find a natural correspondence between special identities for ordinary algebras and dialgebras.
In this paper, we firstly establish Composition-Diamond lemma for $Ω$-algebras. We give a Gröbner-Shirshov basis of the free $L$-algebra as a quotient algebra of a free $Ω$-algebra, and then the normal form of the free $L$-algebra is obtained. We secondly establish Composition-Diamond lemma for $L$-algebras. As applications, we give Gröbner-Shirshov bases of the free dialgebra and the free product of two $L$-algebras, and then we show four embedding theorems of $L$-algebras: 1) Every countably generated $L$-algebra can be embedded into a two-generated $L$-algebra. 2) Every $L$-algebra can be e…
Motivated by the pivotal role played by linear operators, many years ago Rota proposed to determine algebraic operator identities satisfied by linear operators on associative algebras, later called Rota's program on algebraic operators. Recent progresses on this program have been achieved in the contexts of operated algebra, rewriting systems and Groebner-Shirshov bases. These developments also suggest that Rota's insight can be applied to determine operator identities on Lie algebras, and thus to put the various linear operators on Lie algebras in a uniform perspective. This paper carries out…
In this paper, we establish the Composition-Diamond lemma for free differential algebras. As applications, we give Groebner-Shirshov bases for free Lie-differential algebra and free commutative-differential algebra, respectively.
With the help of Rota-Baxter operators and the Groebner-Shirshov bases, we prove that any pre-Lie algebra injectively embeds into its universal enveloping preassociative algebra.
Let $U_q(A_N)$ be the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group of type $A_N$. In this paper, by using Groebner-Shirshov bases, we give a simple (but not short) proof of the Rosso-Yamane Theorem on PBW basis of $U_q(A_N)$.
In this paper we give some relationships among the Groebner-Shirshov bases in free associative algebras, free left modules and "double-free" left modules (free modules over a free algebra). We give the Chibrikov's Composition-Diamond lemma for modules and show that Kang-Lee's Composition-Diamond lemma follows from this lemma. As applications, we also deal with highest weight module over the Lie algebra $sl_2$, Verma module over a Kac-Moody algebra, Verma module over Lie algebra of coefficients of a free conformal algebra and the universal enveloping module for a Sabinin algebra.
