Extensive ARPES and low-energy inelastic neutron scattering studies of cuprate superconductors can be successfully described using a weak-coupling theory in which quasiparticles on a square lattice interact via scalar and spin-dependent effective interactions. In this article we point out that in Bi$_2$Sr$_2$Ca$_{1-x}$Y$_x$Cu$_2$O$_8$ (Bi2212) both probes are consistent with dominant near-neighbour Heisenberg interactions. We discuss the implications of this finding for the mechanism of high-$T_c$ superconductivity.
Twin spin/charge roton mode and superfluid density: primary determining factors of $T_{c}$ in high-$T_{c}$ superconductors observed by neutron, ARPES, and $μ$SR
The inelastic neutron scattering spectrum in cuprate superconductors is discussed on the basis of the itinerant-localized duality model for strongly correlated electrons. In Appendix the consistency with recent rigorous theoretical result on ARPES is discussed.

The electronic dispersions of the quasi-one-dimensional organic conductor TTF-TCNQ are studied by angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES) with higher angular resolution and accordingly smaller step width than in previous studies. Our experimental results suggest that a refinement of the single-band 1D Hubbard model that includes finite-range interactions is needed to explain these photoemission data. To account for the effects of these finite-range interactions we employ a mobile quantum impurity scheme that describes the scattering of fractionalized particles at energies above the s…
Hidden itinerant-spin phase in heavily-overdoped La2-xSrxCuO4 revealed by dilute Fe doping: A combined neutron scattering and angle-resolved photoemission study
Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) measurements have established the phenomenon of kink in band dispersion of high-$T_{\rm c}$ cuprate superconductors. However, systematic studies of the kink in electron-doped cuprates are still lacking experimentally. We performed $in$-$situ$ ARPES measurements on ${\rm La}_{2-x}{\rm Ce}_x{\rm CuO}_{4\pmδ}$ (LCCO) thin films over a wide electron doping ($n$) range from 0.05 to 0.23. While the nodal kink is nearly invisible, an antinodal kink around 45 meV, surviving above 200 K, is observed for $n\sim0.05-0.19$, whose position is roughly indepe…
The magnetic skyrmions generated in a centrosymmetric crystal were recently first discovered in Gd2PdSi3. In light of this, we observe the electronic structure by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and unveil its direct relationship with the magnetism in this compound. The Fermi surface and band dispersions are demonstrated to have a good agreement with the density functional theory (DFT) calculations carried out with careful consideration of the crystal superstructure. Most importantly, we find that the three-dimensional Fermi surface has extended nesting which matches well the…
