We find that the drag force for a heavy quark moving through N=4 SU(N_c) supersymmetric Yang-Mills plasma is generally enhanced by the leading correction due to finite 't Hooft coupling. For a bottom quark, the drag force increases by about 50%, whereas for a charm quark it increases by about 5%. We also discuss the drag force for the case of Gauss-Bonnet gravity.
We use the AdS/CFT correspondence to study the DC conductivity of massive $\mathcal{N} = 2$ hypermultiplet fields in an $\mathcal{N} = 4\, SU(N_c)$ super-Yang-Mills theory plasma in the large $N_c$ and finite 't Hooft coupling. We also discuss general curvature-squared and Gauss-Bonnet corrections on the DC conductivity.
This is an introductory lecture note aiming at providing an overview of the AdS-CFT correspondence at weak 't Hooft coupling at finite temperature. The first aim of this note is to describe the equivalence of three interesting thermodynamical phenomena in theoretical physics, namely, Hawking-Page transition to black hole geometry, deconfinement transition in gauge theories, and vortex condensation on string worldsheets. The Hawking-Page transition and the deconfinement transition in weakly coupled gauge theories are briefly reviewed. Emphasis is on the study of 't Hooft-Feynman diagrams in the…
The effects of charge and finite 't Hooft coupling correction on drag force and jet quenching parameter are investigated. To study charge effect and finite 't Hooft coupling correction, we consider Maxwell charge and Gauss-Bonnet terms, respectively. The background is Reissner-Nordström-AdS black brane solution in Gauss-Bonnet gravity. It is shown that these corrections affect drag force and jet quenching parameter. We find an analytic solution of drag force in this background which depends on Gauss-Bonnet coupling and charge. We set Gauss-Bonnet coupling to be zero and find drag force in the …
Thermodynamics of d=4, N=4 supersymmetric SU(N) Yang-Mills theory is studied with particular attention on perturbative expansion at weak `t Hooft coupling regime and interpolation to strong coupling regime thereof. Non-ideal gas effect to free-energy is calculated and found that leading- and next-to-leading-order corrections contribute with relative opposite sign. Pade approximant method is adopted to improve fixed-order, perturbative series and is found to decrease free-energy monotonically as `t Hooft coupling parameter is increased. This may be regarded as an indication of smooth interpolat…
The correspondence between the 't Hooft limit of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory and tree-level IIB superstring theory on AdS(5)xS(5) in a Ramond-Ramond background at values of lambda=g^2 N ranging from infinity to zero is examined in the context of unitarity. A squaring relation for the imaginary part of the holographic scattering of identical string fields in the two-particle channels is found, and a mismatch between weak and strong 't Hooft coupling is pointed out within the correspondence. Several interpretations and implications are proposed.
A duality between the large N 't Hooft limit of the WD_N minimal model CFTs and a higher spin gravity theory on AdS3 is proposed. The gravity theory has massless spin fields of all even spins s=2,4,6,..., as well as two real scalar fields whose mass is determined by the 't Hooft parameter of the CFT. We show that, to leading order in the large N limit, the 1-loop partition function of the higher spin theory matches precisely with the CFT partition function.
The AdS/CFT correspondence and a classical test string approximation are used to calculate the drag force on an external quark moving in a thermal plasma of N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory. This computation is motivated by the phenomenon of jet-quenching in relativistic heavy ion collisions.
In this paper we consider the drag force problem in the STU model. Already this problem and related topics were studied in ${\mathcal N}=4$ SYM theory. Here we study the same problem in ${\mathcal N}=2$ supergravity theory with an R-charge black hole (the STU model). This paper extends our previous work [1,2] by studying more general charge configurations and by taking into account the effect of a constant electromagnetic field and higher derivative corrections. We consider a single quark and a $q \bar q$ pair in a three charge non-extremal black hole background. First by using the AdS/CFT cor…
Building on the recently established connection between the Hagedorn temperature and integrability [Phys.Rev.Lett. 120 (2018) no.7, 071605], we show how the Quantum Spectral Curve formalism can be used to calculate the Hagedorn temperature of AdS5/CFT4 for any value of the 't Hooft coupling. We solve this finite system of finite-difference equations perturbatively at weak coupling and numerically at finite coupling. We confirm previous results at weak coupling and obtain the previously unknown three-loop Hagedorn temperature. Our finite-coupling results interpolate between weak and strong coup…
Following the nonperturbative prescription for the jet quenching parameter recently proposed by Liu, Rajagopal and Wiedemann, we compute the first correction in the inverse `t Hooft coupling corresponding to string alpha' corrections in the dual background. We also consider the introduction of a chemical potential for the U(1)^3 gauged R-symmetry. While the former mildly diminishes the jet quenching parameter -this suggesting a smooth interpolation between the strong coupling and perturbative results-, the latter generically increases its value. We comment on the extension of this setup to qua…
We investigate drag force in a thermal plasma of N=4 super Yang-Mills theory via both fundamental and Dirichlet strings under the influence of non-zero NSNS $B$-field background. In the description of AdS/CFT correspondence the endpoint of these strings correspondes to an external monopole or quark moving with a constant electromagnetic field. We demonstrate how the configuration of string tail as well as the drag force obtains corrections in this background.
We search for a possible bosonic (i.e. non-supersymmetric) string/gauge theory correspondence by using IIB and 0B strings as a guide. Our construction is based on the low-energy bosonic string effective action modified by an extra form flux. The closed string tachyon can be stabilyzed if the AdS scale L does not exceed certain critical value, L<L_c. We argue that the extra form may be generated as a soliton from 3-string junctions, similarly to the known non-perturbative (Jackiw-Rebbi-'t Hooft-Hasenfratz) mechanism in gauge theories. The stable AdS_{13} x S^{13} solution is found, which appare…
We study mesons in N=4 super Yang-Mills theory with fundamental flavors added at large 't Hooft coupling using the gauge/gravity correspondence. High-spin mesons are well described by using semiclassical string configurations. We determine the meson spectrum at finite temperature and in a background magnetic field.
We propose a duality between the 2d W_N minimal models in the large N 't Hooft limit, and a family of higher spin theories on AdS_3. The 2d CFTs can be described as WZW coset models, and include, for N=2, the usual Virasoro unitary series. The dual bulk theory contains, in addition to the massless higher spin fields, two complex scalars (of equal mass). The mass is directly related to the 't Hooft coupling constant of the dual CFT. We give convincing evidence that the spectra of the two theories match precisely for all values of the 't Hooft coupling. We also show that the RG flows in the 2d C…
The ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density in a strongly coupled CFT plasma can be computed using the AdS/CFT correspondence either from equilibrium correlation functions or from the Janik-Peschanski dual of the boost invariant plasma expansion. We point out that the previously found disagreement for eta/s at finite t' Hooft coupling is resolved once the incoming-wave boundary condition for metric fluctuations at the horizon of the dual geometry is properly imposed.
We test the AdS/CFT correspondence in the case of a d=4 N=2 SCFT by comparing chiral anomalies which are of order N in the 't Hooft large N limit. These include corrections of order 1/N to the conformal anomaly, thus testing the correspondence beyond the extreme large N limit. The field theory anomalies are reproduced by terms in the 7-brane effective action in the bulk.
We use the AdS/CFT correspondence to compute the drag force experienced by a heavy quark moving through a maximally supersymmetric SU(N) super Yang-Mills plasma at nonzero temperature and R-charge chemical potential and at large 't Hooft coupling. We resolve a discrepancy in the literature between two earlier studies of such quarks. In addition, we consider small fluctuations of the spinning strings dual to these probe quarks and find no evidence of instabilities. We make some comments about suitable D7-brane boundary conditions for the dual strings.
We continue to develop Bootstrability -- a method merging Integrability and Conformal Bootstrap to extract CFT data in integrable conformal gauge theories such as $\mathcal{N}$=4 SYM. In this paper, we consider the 1D defect CFT defined on a $\frac{1}{2}$-BPS Wilson line in the theory, whose non-perturbative spectrum is governed by the Quantum Spectral Curve (QSC). In addition, we use that the deformed setup of a cusped Wilson line is also controlled by the QSC. In terms of the defect CFT, this translates into two nontrivial relations connecting integrated 4-point correlators to cusp spectral …
In this paper we consider a quark moving in D=5, ${\mathcal{N}}=2$ supergravity thermal plasma. By using three charge non-extremal black hole solution (STU solution) we calculate drag force on the quark and diffusion constant from $AdS$/CFT correspondence.
In the context of $\mathcal{N}=4$ SYM, we compute the finite 't Hooft coupling $λ$ correction to the non-linear second-order hydrodynamic coefficient $λ_3$ from a Kubo formula based on fully retarded three-point functions using AdS/CFT. Although $λ_3$ is known to vanish in the infinite 't Hooft coupling limit, we find that the finite $λ$ correction is non-zero. We also present a set of Kubo formulae for the non-linear coefficients $λ_{1,2,3}$, which is more convenient than the one that has appeared recently elsewhere.
In the first part of this talk I discuss two somewhat different supergravity approaches to calculating correlation functions in strongly coupled Yang-Mills theory. The older approach relates two-point functions to cross-sections for absorption of certain incident quanta by threebranes. In this approach the normalization of operators corresponding to the incident particles is fixed unambiguously by the D3-brane DBI action. By calculating absorption cross-sections of all partial waves of the dilaton we find corresponding two-point functions at strong `t Hooft coupling and show that they are iden…
Wilson loops which are small deviations from straight, infinite lines, called wavy lines, are considered in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence. A single wavy line and the connected correlation function of a straight and wavy line are considered. It is argued that, to leading order in ``waviness'', the functional form of the loop is universal and the coefficient, which is a function of the 't Hooft coupling, is found in weak coupling perturbation theory and the strong coupling limit using the AdS/CFT correspondence. Supersymmetric arguments are used to simplify the computation and to sho…
We identify the leading finite-size (Luscher-type) correction to the energy of open strings ending on maximal giant gravitons. In particular we obtain the leading finite size correction at weak 't Hooft coupling and in the planar limit to the energy of very short vacuum states. These results are shown to agree with certain 1, 2, 3 and 4-loop dual gauge theory perturbative calculations, which we also perform.
The AdS/CFT correspondence predicts a phase transition in Wilson loop correlators in the strong coupling N=4, D=4 SYM theory which arises due to instability of the classical string stretched between the loops. We study this transition in detail by solving equations of motion for the string in the particular case of two circular Wilson loops. The transition is argued to be smoothened at finite `t Hooft coupling by fluctuations of the string world sheet and to be promoted to a sharp crossover. Some general comments about Wilson loop correlators in gauge theories are made.
We compute the asymptotic symmetry of the higher-spin supergravity theory in AdS_3 and obtain an infinite-dimensional non-linear superalgebra, which we call the super-W_infinity[lambda] algebra. According to the recently proposed supersymmetric duality between higher-spin supergravity in an AdS_3 background and the 't Hooft limit of the N=2 CP^n Kazama-Suzuki model on the boundary, this symmetry algebra should agree with the 't Hooft limit of the chiral algebra of the CFT, SW_n. We provide two nontrivial checks of the duality. By comparing the algebras, we explicitly match the lowest-spin comm…
In the large 't Hooft coupling limit, the hadronic size of baryon is small and nucleon-nucleon potential is obtained from massless pseudo-scalar exchanges and an infinite tower of spin one mesons exchanges. In this paper we use the holographic nucleon-nucleon interaction and obtain the corresponding potential and binding energy for deuteron and tritium nuclei. The obtained potentials are repulsive at short distances and clearly become zero by increasing distance as we expected.
We consider a brane configuration consisting of a D5-brane, D1-branes and D3-branes. According to the AdS/CFT correspondence this system realizes a 't Hooft operator embedded in the interface in the gauge theory side. In the gravity side the near-horizon geometry is AdS_5 x S^5. The D5-brane is treated as a probe in the AdS_5 x S^5 and the D1-branes become the gauge flux on the D5-brane. We examine the condition for preserving appropriate amount of supersymmetry and derive a set of differential equations which is the sufficient and necessary condition. This supersymmetric configuration shows b…
We consider a heavy meson moving slowly through high temperature non-abelian plasmas. Using a simple dipole effective Lagrangian, we calculate the in-medium mass shift and the drag coefficient of the meson in $\N=4$ Super Yang Mills theory at weak and strong coupling. As anticipated, in the large $N$ limit the mass shift is finite while the drag is suppressed by $1/N^2$ . After comparing results to perturbative QCD estimates (which are also calculated), we reach the conclusion that relative to weak coupling expectations the effect of strong coupling is to reduce the momentum diffusion rate and…
In this letter we study how the exact non-perturbative integrability methods in 4D N=4 Super-Yang-Mills can work efficiently together with the numerical conformal bootstrap techniques to go beyond the spectral observables and access previously unreachable quantities such as correlation functions at finite coupling. In the setup of 1D defect CFT living on a Maldacena-Wilson line, we managed to compute with good precision a non-supersymmetric structure constant for a wide range of the `t Hooft coupling. Our result is particularly precise at strong coupling and matches well with the recent analyt…
We consider the interaction between instantons and anti-instantons in four-dimensional N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory at large N and large 't Hooft coupling as described by D-instantons via AdS/CFT duality. We give an estimate of the strength of the interaction in various regimes. We discuss also the case of Non-Commutative super Yang-Mills theory where the interaction between instantons and anti-instantons can be used as a way to probe the locality properties of the theory in the supergravity picture, without explicit reference to the definition of local operators.
We show that the $\mathcal{N}=0$ theories on the self-dual D3-branes of Type 0 string theory are in the class of the previously considered tadpole-free orbifolds of $\mathcal{N} = 4$ theory (although they have SO(6) global symmetry) and hence have vanishing beta function in the planar limit to all orders in 't Hooft coupling. Also, all planar amplitudes in this theory are equal to those of $\mathcal{N} = 4$ theory, up to a rescaling of the coupling.
We study the strong coupling limit of AdS/CFT correspondence in the framework of a recently proposed fermionic formulation of the Bethe Ansatz equations governing the gauge theory anomalous dimensions. We provide examples of states that do not follow the Gubser-Klebanov-Polyakov law at large 't Hooft coupling $λ$, in contrast with recent results on the quantum string Bethe equations valid in that regime. This result indicates that the fermionic construction cannot be trusted at large $λ$, although it remains an efficient tool to compute the weak coupling expansion of anomalous dimensions.
We study the non-commutative supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory at strong coupling using the AdS/CFT correspondence. The supergravity description and the UV/IR relation confirms the expectation that the non-commutativity affects the ultra-violet but not the infra-red of the Yang-Mills dynamics. We show that the supergravity solution dual to the non-commutative N=4 SYM in four dimensions has no boundary and defines a minimal scale. We also show that the relation between the B field and the scale of non-commutativity is corrected at large coupling and determine its dependence on the 't Hooft coupl…
In this talk we present applications of the AdS/CFT correspondence to strongly coupled systems at finite temperature and particle density. The model we investigate contains adjoint matter described by the gauge multiplet of N=4, as well as fundamental matter given by the hypermultiplet of N=2 Super Yang-Mills theory. In some aspects these systems can be thought of as models for the quark-gluon plasma. In the first part we review some properties of meson spectra obtained from these holographic models. We discuss the implications of finite temperature and particle density in these string-theory …
We review a special class of semiclassical string states in AdS_5 x S^5 which have a regular expansion of their energy in integer powers of the ratio of the square of string tension (`t Hooft coupling) and the square of large angular momentum in S^5. They allow one to quantitatively check the AdS/CFT duality in non-supersymmetric sector of states and also help to uncover the role of integrable structures on the two sides of the string theory -- gauge theory duality.
In AdS/CFT analyticity suggests that certain singular behaviors expected at large 't Hooft coupling should continue smoothly to weak 't Hooft coupling where the gauge theory is tractable. This may provide a window into stringy singularity resolution and is a promising technique for studying the signature of the black hole singularity discussed in hep-th/0306170. We comment briefly on its status. Our main goal, though, is to study a simple example of this technique. Gross and Ooguri (hep-th/9805129) have pointed out that the D-brane minimal surface spanning a pair of 't Hooft loops undergoes a …
Computations of the drag force on a heavy quark moving through a thermal state of strongly coupled N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory have appeared recently in hep-th/0605158, hep-ph/0605199, and hep-th/0605182. I compare the strength of this effect between N=4 gauge theory and QCD, using the static force between external quarks to normalize the 't Hooft coupling. Comparing N=4 and QCD at fixed energy density then leads to a relaxation time of roughly 2 fm/c for charm quarks moving through a quark-gluon plasma at T=250 MeV. This estimate should be regarded as preliminary because of the difficulties o…
Recent works have related the bulk first law of black hole mechanics to the first law of entanglement in a dual CFT. These are first order relations, and receive corrections for finite changes. In particular, the latter is naively expected to be accurate only for small changes in the quantum state. But when Newton's constant is small relative to the AdS scale, the former holds to good approximation even for classical perturbations that contain many quanta. This suggests that -- for appropriate states -- corrections to the first law of entanglement are suppressed by powers of $N$ in CFTs whose …
We compute holographically the energy loss of a moving quark in various states of the D1-D5 CFT. In the dual bulk geometries, the quark is the end of a trailing string, and the profile of this string determines the drag force exerted by the medium on the quark. We find no drag force when the CFT state has no momentum, and a nontrivial force for any value of the velocity (even at rest) when the string extends in the supersymmetric D1-D5-P black-hole geometry, or a horizonless microstate geometry thereof. As the length of the throat of the microstate geometry increases, the drag force approaches…
We use the AdS/CFT correspondence to study the thermodynamics of massive N=2 supersymmetric hypermultiplet flavor fields coupled to N=4 supersymmetric SU(Nc) Yang-Mills theory, formulated on curved four-manifolds, in the limits of large Nc and large 't Hooft coupling. The gravitational duals are probe D-branes in global thermal AdS. These D-branes may undergo a topology-changing transition in the bulk. The D-brane embeddings near the point of the topology change exhibit a scaling symmetry. The associated scaling exponents can be either real- or complex-valued. Which regime applies depends on t…
We use the AdS/CFT correspondence to compute a conductivity associated with massive N=2 supersymmetric hypermultiplet fields at finite baryon density, propagating through an N=4 supersymmetric SU(Nc) Yang-Mills plasma in the large Nc, large 't Hooft coupling limit. We do so by introducing external electric and magnetic fields coupled to baryon number and computing the resulting induced current, from which we extract the conductivity tensor. At large hypermultiplet mass we compute the drag force on the charge carriers. We also compute the product of the drag coefficient with the kinetic mass, a…
In this paper we consider a moving quark in the thermal plasma at the N=2 Supergravity theory. By using the AdS/CFT correspondence we obtain energy loss of the quark. Then we consider the higher derivative corrections in charged AdS-black hole and calculate the drag force of the moving quark in the thermal plasma. Also we find a limit which N=2 Supergravity solutions are correspondening to the N=4 Super Yang-Mills solutions for the heavy quark.
The partition function of the W_N minimal model CFT is computed in the large N 't Hooft limit and compared to the spectrum of the proposed holographic dual, a 3d higher spin gravity theory coupled to massive scalar fields. At finite N, the CFT contains additional light states that are not visible in the perturbative gravity theory. We carefully define the large N limit, and give evidence that, at N = infinity, the additional states become null and decouple from all correlation functions. The surviving states are shown to match precisely (for all values of the 't Hooft coupling) with the spectr…
The spin-field interaction is considered, in the context of the gauge fields/string correspondence, in the large 't Hooft coupling limit. The latter can be viewed as a WKB-type approximation to the AdS/CFT duality conjecture. Basic theoretical objects entering the present study are (a) the Wilson loop functional, on the gauge field side and (b) the sigma model action for the string propagating in AdS$_5$. Spin effects are introduced in a worldline setting, via the spin factor for a particle entity propagating on a Wilson loop contour. The computational tools employed for conducting the relevan…
We study the spectrum of asymptotic states in the spin-chain description of planar N=4 SUSY Yang-Mills. In addition to elementary magnons, the asymptotic spectrum includes an infinite tower of multi-magnon bound states with exact dispersion relation, Delta-J_{1} = sqrt{Q^{2}+(lambda/pi^2)sin^2(p/2)}, where the positive integer Q is the number of constituent magnons. These states account precisely for the known poles in the exact S-matrix. Like the elementary magnon, they transform in small representations of supersymmetry and are present for all values of the 't Hooft coupling. At strong coupl…
The series of perturbative fluctuations around a multi-instanton contribution to a specific class of correlation functions of supercurrents in $\cal N=4$ supersymmetric SU(N) Yang-Mills theory is examined in the light of the AdS/CFT correspondence. Subject to certain plausible assumptions, we argue that a given term in the 1/N expansion in such a background receives only a finite number of perturbative corrections in the 't Hooft limit. Such instanton non-renormalisation theorems would explain, for example, the exact agreement of certain weak coupling Yang-Mills instanton calculations with the…
We identify a regime of the AdS/CFT correspondence in which we can quantitatively match N=4 super Yang-Mills (SYM) for small 't Hooft coupling with weakly coupled type IIB string theory on AdS_5 x S^5. We approach this regime by taking the same decoupling limit on both sides of the correspondence. On the gauge theory side only the states in the SU(2) sector survive, and in the planar limit the Hamiltonian is given by the XXX_{1/2} Heisenberg spin chain. On the string theory side we show that the decoupling limit corresponds to a non-relativistic limit. In this limit some of the bosonic modes a…
Applying AdS/CFT correspondence, we study the effect of a constant magnetic field $\mathcal{B}$ on the drag force associated with a heavy quark moving through a strongly-coupled $\mathcal{N}=4$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills (SYM) plasma. The quark is considered moving transverse and parallel to $\mathcal{B}$, respectively. It is shown that for transverse case, the drag force is linearly dependent on $\mathcal{B}$ in all regions. While for parallel case, the drag force increases monotonously with increasing $\mathcal{B}$ and also reveals a linear behavior in the regions of strong $\mathcal{B}$. In …
The localization technique allows us to compute the free energy of the U(N)_k x U(N)_{-k} Chern-Simons-matter theory dual to type IIA strings on AdS_4 x CP^3 from weak to strong 't Hooft coupling λ= N / k at finite N, as demonstrated by Drukker, Marino, and Putrov. In this note we study further the free energy at large 't Hooft coupling with the aim of testing AdS/CFT at the quantum gravity level and, in particular, sum up all the 1/N corrections, apart from the worldsheet instanton contributions. The all genus partition function takes a remarkably simple form -- the Airy function, Ai (k^{4/3}…
We consider duality between type 0B string theory on $AdS_5\times S^5$ and the planar CFT on $N$ electric D3-branes coincident with $N$ magnetic D3-branes. It has been argued that this theory is stable up to a critical value of the `t Hooft coupling but is unstable beyond that point. We suggest that from the gauge theory point of view the development of instability is associated with singularity in the dimension of the operator corresponding to the tachyon field via the AdS/CFT map. Such singularities are common in large $N$ theories because summation over planar graphs typically has a finite …
In this paper we compute the tree-level four-point scattering amplitude of two dilatini and two axion-dilaton fields in type IIB supergravity in AdS5 x S5. A special feature of this process is that there is an "exotic" channel in which there are no singleparticle poles. Another novelty is that this process involves the exchange of a bulk gravitino. The amplitude is interpreted in terms of N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory at large 't Hooft coupling. Properties of the Operator Product Expansion are used to analyze the various contributions from single- and double-trace operators in the wea…
We explore the large-N limits of 2d CFTs, focusing mostly on WZW models and their cosets. The $SU(N)_k$ theory is parametrized in this limit by a 't Hooft-like coupling. We show a duality between strong coupling, where the theory is described by almost free fermions, and weak coupling where the theory is described by bosonic fields by an analysis of spectra and correlators. The AdS$_3$ dual is described, and several quantitative checks are performed. Besides the more standard states that should correspond to bulk black holes we find ground states with large degeneracy that can dominate the sta…
Compactification of Type IIB superstring on an $AdS_5 \times S^5/Γ$ background leads to SU(N) gauge field theories with prescribed matter representations. In the 't Hooft limit of large N such theories are conformally finite. For finite N and broken supersymmetry ($\cal N$ = 0) I derive the constraints to be two-loop conformal and examine the consequences for a wide choice of $Γ$ and its embedding $Γ\subset {\cal C}^3 (\supset S^5)$.
We derive an eikonal approximation to high energy interactions in Anti-de Sitter spacetime, by generalizing a position space derivation of the eikonal amplitude in flat space. We are able to resum, in terms of a generalized phase shift, ladder and cross ladder graphs associated to the exchange of a spin j field, to all orders in the coupling constant. Using the AdS/CFT correspondence, the resulting amplitude determines the behavior of the dual conformal field theory four point function < O_1 O_2 O_1 O_2 > for small values of the cross ratios, in a Lorentzian regime. Finally we show that the ph…
The planar solution is discussed for an N=3 Chern-Simons-matter theory constructed recently by Gaiotto and Tomasiello. The planar resolvent is obtained in terms of contour integrals. If the sum of two Chern-Simons levels k_1,k_2 is small, the expectation value of a supersymmetric Wilson loop grows exponentially with the total 't Hooft coupling, as is expected from AdS/CFT correspondence. If one of the Chern-Simons levels, say k_2, is taken to infinity, for which one of the 't Hooft coupling constants becomes zero, then the exponential behavior disappears.
