The triple differential cross section (TDX) for the 12C(p,2p) proton knockout reaction from the 1p3/2 single-particle state measured at 392 MeV is investigated by nonrelativistic distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA) with accurate treatment of the kinematics of the colliding two protons and effects of in-medium modification to the matrix elements of the proton-proton (pp) effective interaction. Some simplifying approximations made in previous studies with DWIA are examined. The off-the-energy-shell matrix elements of the pp effective interaction are shown to play an essential role in describing the asymmetric two peaks of the measured TDX corresponding to the kinematics in which the momentum transfer is fixed.
Whereas a nonrelativistic distorted wave model fails to quantitatively describe analyzing power data for exclusive proton-induced proton-knockout from the 3s_{1/2} state in Pb-208 at 202 MeV, the corresponding relativistic prediction provides a perfect description, thus suggesting that the Dirac equation is the more appropriate underlying dynamical equation. We check the consistency of this rsult by comparing predictions for both dynamical models to new high resolution data for 3s_{1/2} knockout in Pb-208 at a higher incident energy of 392 MeV.
Within the framework of the relativistic distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA), we investigate the sensitivity of complete sets of polarization transfer observables for exclusive proton knockout from the 3s$_{1/2}$, 2d$_{3/2}$ and 2d$_{5/2}$ states in $^{208}$Pb, at an incident laboratory kinetic energy of 202 MeV, and for coincident coplanar scattering angles ($28.0^{\circ}$, $-54.6^{\circ}$), to different distorting optical potentials, finite-range (FR) versus zero-range (ZR) approximations to the DWIA, as well as medium-modified meson-nucleon coupling constants and meson masses. Resul…
Within the framework of the relativistic plane wave impulse approximation, we study the observable consequences of employing a complete Lorentz invariant representation of the NN scattering matrix in terms of 44 independent amplitudes, as opposed to the previously-employed, but ambiguous, five-term Lorentz invariant parametrization of the NN scattering matrix, for the prediction of complete sets of exclusive ($\vec{p},2 \vec{p} $) polarization transfer observables. Two kinematic conditions are considered, namely proton knockout from the $3s_{1/2}$ state of $^{208}$Pb at an incident energy of 2…
Cross sections and photon asymmetries of the exclusive 16O(γ,pn)14N and 16O(γ,pp)14C knockout reactions are calculated for transitions to the low-lying discrete final states of the residual nucleus in the photon-energy range between 100 and 400 MeV. Exclusive reactions may represent a test of reaction mechanisms and a promising tool for investigating the dynamics of nucleon pairs in different states. Cross sections and asymmetries for both (γ,pn) and (γ,pp) turn out to be only slightly affected by short-range correlations and dominated by two-body currents. Therefore, two-nucleon knockout reac…
We present results of an updated calculation of the 2p2h (two particle two hole) contribution to the neutrino-induced charge-current cross section. We provide also some exclusive observables, interesting from the point of view of experimental studies, e.g. distributions of momenta of the outgoing nucleons and of available energy, which we compare with the results obtained within the NEUT generator. We also compute, and separate from the total, the contributions of 3p3h mechanisms. Finally, we discuss the differences between the present results and previous implementations of the model in MC ev…
We investigate the factorization properties of the exclusive electroinduced two-nucleon knockout reaction $A(e,e'pN)$. A factorized expression for the cross section is derived and the conditions for factorization are studied. The $A(e,e'pN)$ cross section is shown to be proportional to the conditional center-of-mass (c.m.) momentum distribution for close-proximity pairs in a state with zero relative orbital momentum and zero radial quantum number. The width of this conditional c.m. momentum distribution is larger than the one corresponding with the full c.m. momentum distribution. It is shown …
The sensitivity of momentum distributions, recoil polarization observables, and response functions for nucleon knockout by polarized electrons to channel coupling in final-state interactions is investigated using a model in which both the distorting and the coupling potentials are constructed by folding density-dependent effective interactions with nuclear transition densities. Calculations for $^{16}$O are presented for 200 and 433 MeV ejectile energies, corresponding to proposed experiments at MAMI and TJNAF, and for $^{12}$C at 70 and 270 MeV, corresponding to experiments at NIKHEF and MIT-…
Results of relativistic calculations of the direct knockout (DKO) mechanism for the photon induced removal of a proton from a target nucleus over a wide range of energies and nuclei are presented. Spectroscopic factors used in the calculations are fixed from consistent analyses of the quasifree electron scattering process (e,e'p). The results indicate that within the uncertainties of the model, the knockout contributions are generally close to the experimental data for missing momenta below approximately 500 MeV/c. This is in disagreement with nonrelativistic analyses which often find that the…
The attempts to investigate correlations in electromagnetically induced one- and two-nucleon knockout are reviewed. The theoretical framework for cross section calculations is outlined and some results are presented for the exclusive $^{16}$O($e,e'p)^{15}$N and $^{16}$O($e,e'pp)^{14}$C reactions. For the ($e,e'p$) reaction attention is focussed on extracting the spectroscopic factors. For the ($e,e'pp$) reaction the possibility of obtaining direct and clear information on short-range correlations is discussed.
We present a model to calculate cross sections for electroinduced two-nucleon emission from finite nuclei. Short-range correlations in the wave functions and meson-exchange contributions to the photoabsorption process are implemented. Effects of the short-range correlations are studied with the aid of a perturbation expansion method with various choices of the Jastrow correlation function. The model is used to investigate the relative importance of the different reaction mechanisms contributing to the A(e,e$'$pn) and A(e,e$'$pp) process. Representative examples for the target nuclei $^{12}$C a…
The treatment of the $Δ$-current and its contribution in the exclusive $^{16}$O$(e,e'pp)^{14}$C and $^{16}$O$(γ,pp)^{14}$C knockout reactions are investigated in combination with the effects of correlations. Different parametrizations of the effective $Δ$-current and different treatments of correlations in the two-nucleon overlap function are considered. The results are presented and discussed for a suitable choice of kinematics. It is found that the investigation of different mutually supplementing kinematics is necessary to resolve the uncertainties in the theoretical ingredients and extract…
The contributions from $^{12}$C$(e,e'pn)$ and $^{12}$C$(e,e'pp)$ to the semi-exclusive $^{12}$C$(e,e'p)$ cross section have been calculated in an unfactorized model for two-nucleon emission. We assume direct two-nucleon knockout after virtual photon coupling with the two-body pion-exchange currents in the target nucleus. Results are presented at several kinematical conditions in the dip and $Δ$(1232) regions. The calculated two-nucleon knockout strength is observed to account for a large fraction of the measured $(e,e'p)$ strength above the two-nucleon emission threshold.
The role of center-of mass (CM) effects in the one-body nuclear current in the description of electromagnetically induced two-nucleon knockout reactions is discussed in connection with the problem of the lack of orthogonality between initial bound states and final scattering states obtained by the use of an energy-dependent optical model potential. Results for the cross sections of the exclusive $^{16}$O(e,e$'$pp)$^{14}$C and $^{16}$O($γ$,pp)$^{14}$C knockout reactions in different kinematics are presented and discussed. In super-parallel kinematics CM effects produce a strong enhancement of t…
Understanding of inclusive one-nucleon knockout reactions for long-lived fission fragments (LLFPs) is crucial for nuclear transmutation studies. However, the particle and heavy ion transport code system (PHITS) severely overshoots the inclusive one-nucleon knockout cross sections sigma_-1N. Therefore development of a reaction model for describing the inclusive one-nucleon knockout processes is necessary. A key is specification of the position and the momentum of a nucleon inside a nucleus to be struck by the incident nucleon. In this paper the semiclassical distorted wave model incorporating t…
The polarization degrees-of-freedom in electronuclear two-nucleon knockout reactions are discussed. Model calculations for the unpolarized $^{16}$O(e,e$'$pp) cross sections at ($\mid \vec{q} \mid$,$ω$)=(210 MeV,300 MeV/c) are compared to recently obtained data. Predictions for the polarization observables in electronuclear two-nucleon knockout are presented. It is stressed that detailed studies of two-nucleon emission processes permit to constrain the contribution from two-nucleon mechanisms (like meson-exchange and isobar effects) to the single-nucleon knockout channel (e,e$'$p).
We develop a fully relativistic DWIA model for photonuclear reactions using the relativistic mean field theory for the bound state and the Pauli reduction of the scattering state which is calculated from a relativistic optical potential. Results for the 12C(gamma,p) and 16O(gamma,p) differential cross sections and photon asymmetries are displayed in a photon energy range between 60 and 257 MeV, and compared with nonrelativistic DWIA calculations. The effects of the spinor distortion and of the effective momentum approximation for the scattering state are discussed. The sensitivity of the model…
Full Faddeev-type calculations are performed for one-neutron knockout reaction of $^{14}$Be on proton target at 69 MeV/u incident energy. Inclusive transverse momentum distributions for the outgoing ($^{12}$Be + n) system and semi-inclusive cross sections are presented. A significant proton-core single scattering contribution emerges where the valence neutron has non zero angular momentum relative to the core. This indicates that distorted-wave impulse approximation is inadequate and the complete multiple scattering series must be taken into account for the considered reaction. The magnitude o…
The general formalism of nucleon recoil polarization in the (${\vec e},e'{\vec N}N$) reaction is given. Numerical predictions are presented for the components of the outgoing proton polarization and of the polarization transfer coefficient in the specific case of the exclusive $^{16}$O(${\vec e},e'{\vec p}p$)$^{14}$C knockout reaction leading to discrete states in the residual nucleus. Reaction calculations are performed in a direct knockout framework where final-state interactions and one-body and two-body currents are included. The two-nucleon overlap integrals are obtained from a calculatio…
We develop a fully relativistic distorted wave impulse approximation model for electron- and photon-induced one proton knockout reactions. The relativistic mean field for the bound state and the Pauli reduction for the scattering state are used, including a fully relativistic electromagnetic current operator. Results for 16O(e,e'p) cross section and structure functions are shown in various kinematic conditions and compared with nonrelativistic calculations. Nuclear transparency calculations in a Q^2 range between 0.3 and 1.8 (GeV/c)^2 are presented. Results for 16O(gamma,p) differential cross …
Background: Proton-induced α-knockout reactions empower direct experimental manifestations of α-clustering in nuclei. This is obtained by relating the theoretical descriptions of clustering states with experimental reaction observables. It is desired to introduce microscopic structure models into the theoretical frameworks for α-knockout reactions. Purpose: Our goal is to probe the α-clustering in $^{10}$Be nucleus by proton-induced α-knockout reaction observables. Method: We adopt an extended version of the Tohsaki-Horiuchi-Schuck-Röpke (THSR) wave function of $^{10}$Be and integrate it with …
Background: Exclusive two-nucleon knockout after electroexcitation of nuclei ($A(e,e'NN)$ in brief) is considered to be a primary source of information about short-range correlations (SRC) in nuclei. For a proper interpretation of the data, final-state interactions (FSI) need to be theoretically controlled. Purpose: Our goal is to quantify the role of FSI effects in exclusive $A(e,e'pN)$ reactions for four target nuclei representative for the whole mass region. Our focus is on processes that are SRC driven. We investigate the role of FSI for two characteristic detector setups corresponding wit…
Results for the cross sections of the exclusive 16O(e,e'pn)14N and 16O(gamma,pn)14N knockout reactions are presented and discussed in different kinematics. In comparison with earlier work, a complete treatment of the center-of-mass (CM) effects in the nuclear one-body current is considered in connection with the problem of the lack of orthogonality between initial bound and final scattering states. The effects due to CM and orthogonalization are investigated in combination with different treatments of correlations in the two-nucleon overlap function and for different parametrizations of the tw…
Our goal is to reveal how the $α$ cluster amplitude is probed through $α$ knockout reactions depending on reaction conditions, e.g., the incident energy. We consider $^{20}$Ne($p$,$pα$)$^{16}$O and $^{120}$Sn($p$,$pα$)$^{116}$Cd at 100-400 MeV within the distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA) framework. We introduce a masking function which shows how the reaction amplitude in the nuclear interior is suppressed and defines the probed region of the $α$ cluster wave function. It is clearly shown by means of the masking function that the $α$ knockout reaction probes the $α$ cluster amplitude …
The polarization degrees of freedom in photoinduced two-nucleon knockout from finite nuclei are studied. It is pointed out that they open good perspectives to study the dynamics of dinucleons in the medium in detail. The ($γ,pp$) and ($γ,pn$) angular cross sections, photon asymmetries and outgoing nucleon polarizations are calculated for the target nuclei $^{16}$O and $^{12}$C and photonenergies ranging from 100 up to 500 MeV. It is investigated to which degree the two-nucleon emission reaction is dominated by photoabsorption on $^3S_1(T=0)$ proton-neutron and $^1S_0(T=1)$ proton-proton pairs …
A computer program is described to calculate momentum distributions in stripping and diffraction dissociation reactions. A Glauber model is used with the scattering wavefunctions calculated in the eikonal approximation. The program is appropriate for knockout reactions at intermediate energy collisions (30 MeV $\leq$ E$_{lab}/$nucleon $\leq 2000$ MeV). It is particularly useful for reactions involving unstable nuclear beams, or exotic nuclei (e.g. neutron-rich nuclei), and studies of single-particle occupancy probabilities (spectroscopic factors) and other related physical observables. Such st…
Reactions that involve the direct and sudden removal of a pair of like or unlike nucleons from a fast projectile beam by a light target nucleus are considered. Specifically, we study the three two-nucleon removal channels from $^{12}${C} that populate final states in the $^{10}${Be}, $^{10}${B} and $^{10}${C} reaction residues. The calculated two-nucleon removal cross sections and the residue momentum distributions are compared with available high energy data at 250, 1050 and 2010 MeV per nucleon, data that are inclusive with respect to the bound final-states of the residues. The measured $np$…
Calculations have been performed for the $^{16}$O($γ$,pn) and the $^{16}$O($γ$,pp) reaction in the photon-energy range $E_γ$ = 60-300 MeV. Besides the contribution from the more common photoabsorption on the pionic degrees of freedom, we have investigated the influence of heavier meson exchange ($ρ, σ, ω$) and intermediate $Δ$ creation with $π$ and $ρ$ exchange. Whereas the $π$ meson is found to set the main trends, the $ρ$ meson is found not to be discardable in a theoretical description of the ($γ$,pn) reaction. The incorporation of an energy dependence and a decay width in the $Δ$ propagato…
The nuclear structure dependence of direct reactions that remove a pair of like or unlike nucleons from a fast $^{12}$C projectile beam are considered. Specifically, we study the differences in the two-nucleon correlations present and the predicted removal cross sections when using $p$-shell shell-model and multi-$\hbarω$ no-core shell-model (NCSM) descriptions of the two-nucleon overlaps for the transitions to the mass $A$=10 projectile residues. The NCSM calculations use modern chiral two-nucleon and three-nucleon (NN+3N) interactions. The $np$-removal cross sections to low-lying $T$=0, $^{1…
Background: Recent theoretical and experimental researches using proton-induced $α$-knockout reactions provide direct manifestation of $α$-cluster formation in nuclei. In recent and future experiments, $α$-knockout data are available for neutron-rich beryllium isotopes. In $^{12}$Be , rich phenomena are induced by the formation of $α$-clusters surrounded by neutrons, for instance, breaking of the neutron magic number $N=8$. Purpose: Our objective is to provide direct probing of the $α$-cluster formation in the $^{12}$Be target through associating the structure information obtained by a microsc…
We study medium modifications of the nucleon-nucleon (NN) cross sections and their influence on the nucleon knockout reactions. Using the eikonal approximation, we compare the results obtained with free NN cross sections with those obtained with a purely geometrical treatment of Pauli-blocking and with NN obtained with more elaborated Dirac-Bruecker methods. The medium effects are parametrized in terms of the baryon density. We focus on symmetric nuclear matter, although the geometrical Pauli-blocking allows for the treatment of asymmetric nuclear matter. It is shown that medium effects can ch…
We study the effect of wave function orthogonality in the relativistic treatment of the nucleon removal reactions (gamma, p) and (e, e' p). The continuum wave function describing the outgoing nucleon is made orthogonal to the relevant bound states using the Gram-Schmidt procedure. This procedure has the advantage of preserving the asymptotic character of the continuum wave function and hence the elastic observables are unaffected. The orthogonality effects are found to be negligible for (e, e' p) reactions for missing momenta up to 700 MeV/c. This holds true for both parallel and perpendicular…
The isoscalar $pn$ pair is expected to emerge in nuclei having the similar proton and neutron numbers but there is no clear experimental evidence for it. We aim to clarify the correspondence between the $pn$ pairing strength in many-body calculation and the triple differential cross section (TDX) of proton-induced deuteron knockout ($p,pd$) reaction on $^{16}$O. The radial wave function of the isoscalar $pn$ pair with respect to the center of $^{16}$O is calculated with the energy density functional (EDF) approach and is implemented in the distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA) framework.…
The low-lying unbound level structure of the halo nucleus $^{19}\textrm{C}$ has been investigated using single-neutron knockout from $^{20}\textrm{C}$ on a carbon target at 280 MeV/nucleon. The invariant mass spectrum, derived from the momenta of the forward going beam velocity $^{18}\textrm{C}$ fragment and neutrons, was found to be dominated by a very narrow near threshold ($E_\textrm{rel}$ = 0.036(1) MeV) peak. Two less strongly populated resonance-like features were also observed at $E_\textrm{rel}$ = 0.84(4) and 2.31(3) MeV, both of which exhibit characteristics consistent with neutron $p…
Relativistic calculations for the quasifree electron scattering process (e, e'p) and the direct knockout contribution to (gamma, p) reactions are presented. The spectroscopic factors determined from the former reaction are used to fix the magnitude of the knockout contribution to the (gamma, p) reaction at 60 MeV. The results obtained for several nuclei indicate that the knockout contributions are much larger in magnitude and hence closer to the data than predicted in an earlier comparison based on non-relativistic calculations. We discuss the sensitivity of the results to the choice of parame…
The contributions of short-range nucleon-nucleon (NN) correlations, various meson exchange current (MEC) terms and the influence of $Δ$ isobar excitations (isobaric currents, IC) on exclusive two-nucleon knockout reactions induced by electron scattering are investigated. The nuclear structure functions are evaluated for nuclear matter. Realistic NN interactions derived in the framework of One-Boson-Exchange model are employed to evaluate the effects of correlations and MEC in a consistent way. The correlations correlations are determined by solving the Bethe-Goldstone equation. This yields sig…
The effect of central, tensor and spin-isospin nucleon-nucleon correlations upon semi-exclusive ^{16}O(e,e'p) reactions is studied for Q^2 and Bjorken x values in the range $0.2 \lesssim Q^2 \lesssim 1.1 (GeV/c)^2$ and 0.15 $\lesssim$ x $\lesssim$ 2. The fully unfactorized calculations are performed in a framework that accounts not only for the dynamical coupling of virtual photons to correlated nucleon pairs but also for meson-exchange and $Δ_{33}$-isobar currents. Tensor correlations are observed to produce substantially larger amounts of semi-exclusive ^{16}O(e,e'p) strength than central co…
A technique to deal with Coulomb electron distortions in the analysis of (e,e'p) reactions is presented. Thereby, no approximations are made. The suggested technique relies on a partial-wave expansion of the electron wave functions and a multipole decomposition of the electron and nuclear current in momentum space. In that way, we succeed in keeping the computational times within reasonable limits. This theoretical framework is used to calculate the quasielastic (e,e'p) reduced cross sections for proton knockout from the valence shells in $^{16}$O, $^{40}$Ca, $^{90}$Zr and $^{208}$Pb. The fina…
The reaction mechanism of pre-equilibrium proton-induced $α$-particle emission from 93Nb at an incident energy of 100 MeV was investigated with polarized projectiles. A formalism based on the statistical multistep direct emission model of Feshbach, Kerman and Koonin was found to give a reasonably good reproduction of cross section and analyzing power angular distributions at various emission energies. Existing experimental distributions for the same reaction at an incident energy of 65 MeV were also analyzed with the same model. The incident-energy variation from 65 MeV up to 160 MeV was found…
We report the results of a calculation of the neutrino- and antineutrino-induced gamma-ray production cross section for oxygen target. Our analysis is focused on the kinematical region of neutrino energy larger than ~200MeV, in which single-nucleon knockout is known to be the dominant reaction mechanism. The numerical results have been obtained using a realistic model of the target spectral function, extensively tested against electron-nucleus scattering data. We find that at neutrino energy 600 MeV the fraction of neutral-current interactions leading to emission of gamma-rays of energy larger…

The full quantum mechanical (QM) model of inclusive breakup of Ichimura-Austern-Vincent (IAV) is implemented in this paper to calculate breakup from heavy radioactive nuclei on a $^9$Be target at intermediate energies. So far it had been implemented and applied only to low energy reactions with light projectiles. The IAV model is successful in predicting absolute cross sections among other observables. In order to get insight on the content of the model in the case of the complicated heavy-ion reactions, results are compared with those of the semiclassical transfer to the continuum (TC) model.…
It has long been recognized that observation of gamma rays originating from nuclear deexcitation can be exploited to identify neutral-current neutrino-nucleus interactions in water-Cherenkov detectors. We report the results of a calculation of the neutrino- and antineutrino-induced gamma-ray production cross section for oxygen target. Our analysis is focused on the kinematical region of neutrino energy larger than ~200 MeV, in which single-nucleon knockout is known to be the dominant reaction mechanism. The numerical results have been obtained using for the first time a realistic model of the …
We examine neutral-current quasi-elastic neutrino-nucleus reactions on $^{12}$C and $^{208}$Pb targets. We use the relativistic mean field theory approach to describe the nuclear dynamics. We compute the cross sections for the scattering of 150-MeV, 500-MeV and 1000-MeV neutrinos on a $^{12}$C target and study the effect of the strange-quark content of the nucleon which appears in these reactions via the isoscalar weak current. We compare our results with the data of the MiniBooNE experiment for mineral oil (CH$_2$). We also calculate the cross section for the quasi-elastic neutron knockout re…
We extended the study of relativistic effects in neutron-deuteron scattering to the exclusive breakup. To this aim we solved the three-nucleon Faddeev equation including such relativistic features as relativistic kinematics and boost effects at incoming neutron lab. energies E_n^{lab}=65 MeV, 156 MeV and 200 MeV. As dynamical input a relativistic nucleon-nucleon interaction exactly on-shell equivalent to the CD Bonn potential has been used. We found that the magnitude of relativistic effects increases with the incoming neutron energy and, depending on the phase-space region, relativity can inc…

Background: For its simplicity, the eikonal method is the tool of choice to analyze nuclear reactions at high energies ($E>100$ MeV/nucleon), including knockout reactions. However, so far, the effective interactions used in this method are assumed to be fully local. Purpose: Given the recent studies on non-local optical potentials, in this work we assess whether non-locality in the optical potentials is expected to impact reactions at high energies and then explore different avenues for extending the eikonal method to include non-local interactions. Method: We compare angular distributions obt…
Nucleon recoil polarization in electromagnetic reactions with two-nucleon emission is discussed for both (${\vec e},e'{\vec N}N$) and (${\vec γ},{\vec N}N$). Numerical results are given for exclusive two-nucleon knockout reactions from $^{16}$O in a theoretical model where final-state interactions, one-body and two-body currents, and the effect of correlations in the initial pair wave function are included.
Within the framework of the relativistic distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA), we investigate the sensitivity of the analyzing power - for exclusive proton knockout from the 3s$_{1/2}$, 2d$_{3/2}$ and 2d$_{5/2}$ states in $^{208}$Pb, at an incident laboratory kinetic energy of 202 MeV, and for coincident coplanar scattering angles ($28.0^{\circ}$, $-54.6^{\circ}$) - to different distorting optical potentials, finite-range (FR) versus zero-range (ZR) approximations to the DWIA, as well as medium-modified coupling constants and meson masses. Results are also compared to the nonrelativisti…
Single nucleon knockout reactions must be described in a consistent framework in order to extract information about nuclear structure and reaction mechanisms. Consistent relativistic models for the direct knockout contribution to the (e, e'p) and (gamma, p) reactions have been developed and used previously to examine existing momentum distribution and cross section data for the two reactions^{1}. We present results of calculations of spin observables obtained from these models of (e, e'p) and (gamma, p) reactions. For the (e, e'p) reaction we consider the importance of the choice of kinematics…
Background: Nuclear short-range correlations (SRCs) are corrections to mean-field wave functions connected with the short-distance behavior of the nucleon-nucleon interaction. These SRCs provide corrections to lepton- nucleus cross sections as computed in the impulse approximation (IA). Purpose: We want to investigate the influence of SRCs on the one-nucleon (1N) and two-nucleon (2N) knockout channel for muon-neutrino induced processes on a $^{12}$C target at energies relevant for contemporary measurements. Method: The model adopted in this work, corrects the impulse approximation for SRCs by …
The proton-induced $α$ knockout reaction has been utilized for decades to investigate the $α$ cluster states of nuclei, of the ground state in particular. However, even in recent years, it is reported that the deduced $α$ spectroscopic factors from $α$ knockout experiments and reaction analyses with a phenomenological $α$ cluster wave function diverge depending on the kinematical condition of the reaction. In the present study we examine the theoretical description of the $^{20}$Ne($p$,$pα$)$^{16}$O cross section based on the antisymmetrized molecular dynamics and the distorted wave impulse ap…
Structure with the lowest energy observed in the $^{10}$He spectrum populated in the proton knockout reaction with $^{11}$Li beam has a peak at $1.2-1.5$ MeV. This peak is usually interpreted as a resonant $0^+$ ground state of $^{10}$He. Our theoretical calculations indicate that this peak is likely to be a pileup of $1^-$, $0^+$, and $2^+$ excitations with very similar shapes. %We predict a very specific nature of the $1^-$ excitation in $^{10}$He. Moreover, the ``soft'' $1^-$ excitation appears to be the lowest one in energy. Such an anomalous continuum response is traced to the halo struct…
We study (p,2p) and (p,pn) reactions at proton energies in the range of 100 MeV -- 1 GeV. Our purpose is to explore the most sensitive observables in unpolarized reactions with inverse kinematics involving radioactive nuclei. We formulate a model based on the eikonal theory to describe total cross sections and momentum distributions of the recoiled residual nucleus. The model is similar to the one adopted for knockout reactions with heavy ions. We show that momentum distributions are sensitive to the angular momentum of the ejected nucleon which can be used as an spectroscopic tool. The total …
The Quasi-Elastic (QE) contribution of the nuclear inclusive electron model developed in Nucl. Phys. A627 543 (1997) is extended to the study of neutrino/antineutrino Charged Current (CC) and Neutral Current (NC) induced nuclear reactions at intermediate energies. Long range nuclear (RPA) correlations, Final State Interaction (FSI) and Coulomb corrections are included within the model. RPA correlations are shown to play a crucial role in the whole range (100--500 MeV) of studied neutrino energies. Results for inclusive muon capture for different nuclei through the Periodic Table are also discu…
We have extended our model for charged current neutrino-nucleus interactions to neutral current reactions. For the elementary neutrino-nucleon interaction, we take into account quasielastic scattering, Delta excitation and the excitation of the resonances in the second resonance region. Our model for the neutrino-nucleus collisions includes in-medium effects such as Fermi motion, Pauli blocking, nuclear binding, and final-state interactions. They are implemented by means of the Giessen Boltzmann-Uehling-Uhlenbeck (GiBUU) coupled-channel transport model. This allows us to study exclusive channe…

Arguments are presented for the expected behaviour of $\piNpiN$ scattering and the $\pbarppipi$ reaction at high energy and large scattering angles. % The annihilation reaction has close to maximal asymmetry ($\approx$ 1) for $p_{lab} \siml $ 2.2 GeV/c. % As will be presented for fixed (90$\degree$) angle this large asymmetry will not become zero but will start to oscillate with energy at higher energies and large $Q^2$ when perturbative QCD becomes applicable. This is due to the energy dependence of a QCD phase difference between the independent quark-quark scattering (Landshoff) and short-di…
