Chiral monopoles are hedgehoglike structures in local chiral condensates in QCD. These monopoles are (i) made of quark and gluon fields; (ii) explicitly gauge-invariant; and (iii) they carry quantized and conserved chromomagnetic charge. We argue that the chiral condensate vanishes in a core of the chiral monopole while the density of these monopoles increases with temperature wiping out the quark condensate in quark-gluon plasma. We suggest that the dynamics of the chiral monopoles is responsible for the chiral symmetry restoration in high temperature phase of QCD. We also argue that the chiral monopoles are unlikely to be associated with confining degrees of freedom. In our approach the chiral symmetry restoration and the color deconfinement in QCD are not necessarily related to each other and the corresponding transitions may occur at different temperatures.
We study the effective monopole action obtained in the Maximal Abelian projection of quenched SU(2) lattice QCD. We determine the quadratic part of the lattice action using analytical blocking from continuum dual superconductor model to the lattice model. The leading contribution to the quadratic action depends explicitly on value of the monopole condensate. We show that the analytical monopole action matches the numerically obtained action in quenched SU(2) QCD with a good accuracy. The comparison of numerical and analytical results gives us the value of the monopole condensate in quenched SU…
We study the temperature dependence of the monopole condensate in different Abelian projections of the SU(2) lattice gauge theory. Using the Frohlich-Marchetti monopole creation operator we show numerically that the monopole condensate depends on the choice of the Abelian projection. Contrary to the claims in the current literature we observe that in the Abelian Polyakov gauge and in the field strength gauge the monopole condensate does not vanish at the critical temperature and thus is not an order parameter.
The general properties of the abelian projection are reviewed. We derive the explicit expression for the abelian functional integral for U(1) abelian theory which corresponds to the abelian projection of the SU(2) gluodynamics. The numerical results for the temperature dependence of the monopole condensate are presented.
We study spontaneous chiral-symmetry breaking in SU(3) QCD in terms of the dual superconductor picture for quark confinement in the maximally Abelian (MA) gauge, using lattice QCD Monte Carlo simulations with four different lattices of $16^4$, $24^4$, $24^3\times 6$ at $β=6.0$ (i.e., the spacing $a \simeq$ 0.1 fm), and $32^4$ at $β=6.2$ (i.e., $a \simeq$ 0.075 fm), at the quenched level. First, in the confinement phase, we find Abelian dominance and monopole dominance in the MA gauge for the chiral condensate in the chiral limit, using the two different methods of i) the Banks-Casher relation w…
We study the action of the lattice monopoles in quenched SU(2) QCD in the Maximal Abelian projection. We relate the lattice action of the monopole currents to the monopole degrees of freedom of the continuum dual superconductor model and obtain the value of the monopole condensate.
The hypothesis is analysed that the monopoles condensing in QCD vacuum to make it a dual superconductor are classical solutions of the equations of motion.
It is proven that dual superconductivity of QCD vacuum in the confining phase is an intinsic property, independent on the choice of the abelian projection used to define the monopoles.
Using the lattice gauge field theory, we study the relation among the local chiral condensate, monopoles, and color magnetic fields in quantum chromodynamics (QCD). First, we investigate idealized Abelian gauge systems of 1) a static monopole-antimonopole pair and 2) a magnetic flux without monopoles, on a four-dimensional Euclidean lattice. In these systems, we calculate the local chiral condensate on quasi-massless fermions coupled to the Abelian gauge field, and find that the chiral condensate is localized in the vicinity of the magnetic field. Second, using SU(3) lattice QCD Monte Carlo ca…
Properties of space-like monopoles projected on the 3D space in finite temperature quenched SU(2) QCD are studied. The monopole energy is derived from the effective action of the monopoles which is determined by an inverse Monte-Carlo method. Then the entropy is fixed with the help of the monopole-loop distribution.
It is shown that the creation of a monopole is a gauge invariant statement, based on topology. Creating a monopole is independent on the abelian projection in which it is created. This is fundamental in defining an order parameter for detecting dual superconductivity of the QCD vacuum.
The length distribution and the monopole action of the infrared monopole clusters are studied numerically in quenched SU(2) QCD. We determine the effective entropy of the monopole currents which turns out to be a descending function of the blocking scale, indicating that the effective degrees of freedom of the extended monopoles are getting smaller as the blocking scale increases.
We study properties of space-like monopole trajectories in the Maximal Abelian gauge of quenched SU(2) QCD at the finite temperature. We concentrate on infrared monopole clusters which are responsible for the confinement properties of the theory. We determine numerically the effective action of the monopoles projected onto the three-dimensional time-slice. Then we derive the length distributions of the monopole loops and fix their entropy.
We study monopoles and corresponding 't Hooft tensor in QCD with a generic compact gauge group. This issue is relevant to the understanding of color confinement in terms of dual symmetry.
Within the context of the Abelian Projection of QCD monopole-like quantum excitations of gauge fields are studied. We start with certain classical solutions, of the SU(2) Yang-Mills field equations, which are not monopole-like and whose energy density diverges as $r \to \infty$. These divergent classical solutions are then quantized using a modified version of Heisenberg's quantization technique for strongly interacting, nonlinear fields. The modified Heisenberg quantization technique leads to a system of equations with mixed quantum and classical degrees of freedom. By applying a Feynman path…
We conjecture that a T-dual form of pure QCD describes dynamics of point-like monopoles. T-duality transforms the QCD Lagrangian into a matrix quantum mechanics of zerobranes which we identify with monopoles. At generic points of the monopole moduli space the SU(N) gauge group is broken down to $U(1)^{N-1}$ reproducing the key feature of 't Hooft's Abelian projection. There are certain points in the moduli space where monopole positions coincide, gauge symmetry is enhanced and gluons emerge as massless excitations. We show that there is a linearly rising potential between zerobranes. This indi…
An investigation of singular fields emerging in the process of transforming QCD to the axial gauge is presented. The structure of the singularities is analyzed. It is shown that apart from well known neutral magnetic monopole singularities, the field configurations also exhibit singularities in their charged and transverse components. This complex singularity structure guarantees finite non-Abelian field strength and thus finite action if expressed in terms of gauge fixed fields. A relation between the monopole charges of singular field configurations and their topological charge is derived. Q…
In a recent work (hep-th/9905198) we argued that a certain matrix quantum mechanics may describe 't Hooft's monopoles which emerge in QCD when the theory is projected to its maximal Abelian subgroup. In this note we find further evidence which supports this interpretation. We study the theory with a non-zero theta-term. In this case, 't Hooft's QCD monopoles become dyons since they acquire electric charges due to the Witten effect. We calculate a potential between a dyon and an anti-dyon in the matrix quantum mechanics, and find that the attractive force between them grows as the theta angle i…
Monopole and photon contributions to Wilson loops are calculated using Monte-Carlo simulations of SU(2) QCD in the maximally abelian gauge. The string tensions of SU(2) QCD are well reproduced by extended monopole contributions alone.
The long standing problem is solved why the number and the location of monopoles observed in Lattice configurations depend on the choice of the gauge used to detect them, in contrast to the obvious requirement that monopoles, as physical objects, must have a gauge-invariant status. It is proved, by use of non-abelian Bianchi identities, that monopoles are indeed gauge-invariant: the technique used to detect them has instead an efficiency which depends on the choice of the abelian projection, in a known and controllable way.
We show how to obtain a vanishing DC conductivity in 3-dimensional strongly coupled QFT's using a massive 2-form field in the bulk that satisfies a special kind of boundary condition. The real and imaginary parts of the AC conductivity are evaluated in this holographic setup and we show that the DC conductivity identically vanishes even for an arbitrarily small (though nonzero) value of the 2-form mass in the bulk. We identify the bulk action of the massive 2-form with an effective theory describing a phase in which magnetic monopoles have condensed in the bulk. Our results indicate that a con…
An effective monopole action is derived from vacuum configurations after abelian projection in the maximally abelian gauge in $SU(2)$ QCD. Entropy dominance over energy of monopole loops is seen on the renormalized lattice with the spacing $b>b_c\simeq 5.2\times10^{-3} Λ_L^{-1}$ when the physical volume of the system is large enough. QCD confinement may be interpreted as the (dual) Meissner effect due to the monopole condensation.
We propose a new class of defects in QCD which can be viewed as ``embedded'' monopoles made of quark and gluon fields. These objects are explicitly gauge-invariant and they closely resemble the Nambu monopoles in the Standard Electroweak model. We argue that the ``embedded QCD monopoles'' are proliferating in the quark gluon plasma phase while in the low-temperature hadronic phase the spatial proliferation of these objects is suppressed. At realistic quark masses and zero chemical potential the hadronic and quark-gluon phases are generally believed to be connected by a smooth crossover across …
In this paper we improve the existing order parameter for monopole condensation in gauge theory vacuum, making it gauge-invariant from scratch and free of the spurious infrared problems which plagued the old one. Computing the new parameter on the lattice will unambiguously detect weather dual superconductivity is the mechanism for color confinement. As a byproduct we relate confinement to the existence of a finite correlation length in the gauge-invariant correlator of chromo-electric field strengths.
We examine the low-energy dynamics of four-dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories and calculate the values of the gluino condensate for all simple gauge groups. By initially compactifying the theory on a cylinder we are able to perform calculations in a controlled weakly-coupled way for small radius. The dominant contributions to the path integral on the cylinder arise from magnetic monopoles which play the role of instanton constituents. We find that the semi-classically generated superpotential of the theory is the affine Toda potential for an associated twisted affine algebra. We determi…
We examine supersymmetric SU(N) gauge theories on R^3*S^1 with a circle of circumference beta. These theories interpolate between four-dimensional N=1 pure gauge theory for beta=infinity and three-dimensional N=2 gauge theory for beta=0. The dominant field configurations of the R^3*S^1 SU(N) theories in the semi-classical regime arise from N varieties of monopole. Periodic instanton configurations correspond to mixed configurations of N single monopoles of the N different types. We semi-classically evaluate the non-perturbatively generated superpotential of the R^3*S^1 theory and hence determi…
A novel Coulomb gas (CG) description of low energy QCD_4(N_c) is constructed. The construction is based on the dual transformation of the QCD effective Lagrangian. By considering a large gauge transformation, the charges of this statistical system are identified with magnetic monopoles which carry fractional charges of strength 1/N_c. Furthermore, the creation operator which inserts the magnetic charge in the CG picture is explicitly constructed and demonstrated to have a non-zero vacuum expectation value, indicating that confinement does occur. The Wilson loop operator as well as the creation…
We show that there exists a special compactification of QCD on $\mathbb{R}^3 \times S^1$ in which the theory has a domain where continuous chiral symmetry breaking is analytically calculable. We give a microscopic derivation of the chiral lagrangian, the chiral condensate, and the Gell-Mann-Oakes-Renner relation $m_π^2 f_π^2 = m_q \langle \bar{q} q \rangle$. Abelian duality, monopole operators, and flavor-twisted boundary conditions, or a background flavor holonomy, play the main roles. The flavor twisting leads to the new effect of fractional jumping of fermion zero modes among monopole-insta…
To check the dual superconductor picture for the quark-confinement mechanism, we evaluate monopole dominance as well as Abelian dominance of quark confinement for both quark-antiquark and three-quark systems in SU(3) quenched lattice QCD in the maximally Abelian (MA) gauge. First, we examine Abelian dominance for the static $Q\bar Q$ system in lattice QCD with various spacing $a$ at $β$=5.8-6.4 and various size $L^3$x$L_t$. For large physical-volume lattices with $La \ge$ 2fm, we find perfect Abelian dominance of the string tension for the $Q\bar Q$ systems: $σ_{Abel} \simeq σ$. Second, we acc…
We study the embedded QCD monopoles (``quark monopoles'') using low-lying eigenmodes of the overlap Dirac operator in zero- and finite-temperature SU(2) Yang-Mills theory on the lattice. These monopoles correspond to the gauge-invariant hedgehogs in the quark-antiquark condensates. The monopoles were suggested to be agents of the chiral symmetry restoration since their cores should suppress the chiral condensate. We study numerically the scalar, axial and chirally invariant definitions of the embedded monopoles and show that the monopole densities are in fact globally anti-correlated with the …
Thermal monopoles, identified after Abelian projection as magnetic currents wrapping non-trivially around the thermal circle, are studied in $N_f = 2+1$ QCD at the physical point. The distribution in the number of wrappings, which in pure gauge theories points to a condensation temperature coinciding with deconfinement, points in this case to around 275 MeV, almost twice the QCD crossover temperature $T_c$; similar indications emerge looking for the formation of a percolating current cluster. The possible relation with other non-perturbative phenomena observed above $T_c$ is discussed.
We analyze the interplay of topological objects in four-dimensional QCD on the lattice. The distributions of color magnetic monopoles in the maximum abelian gauge are computed around instantons in both pure and full QCD. We find an enhanced probability for monopoles inside the core of an instanton on gauge field average. This feature is independent of the topological charge definition used. For specific gauge field configurations we visualize the situation graphically. Moreover we investigate how monopole loops and instantons are correlated with the chiral condensate. Strong evidence is found …
Monopole and photon contributions to abelian Wilson loops are calculated using Monte-Carlo simulations of SU(2) QCD in the maximally abelian gauge. The string tension is well reproduced only by monopole contributions, whereas photons alone are responsible for the Coulomb coefficient of the abelian static potential.
Non-Abelian strings exist in the color-flavor locked phase of dense QCD. We show that kinks appearing in the world-sheet theory on these strings, in the form of the kink-antikink bound pairs, are the magnetic monopoles --- descendants of the 't Hooft-Polyakov monopoles surviving in such a special form in dense QCD. Our consideration is heavily based on analogies and inspiration coming from certain supersymmetric non-Abelian theories. This is the first ever analytic demonstration that objects unambiguously identifiable as the magnetic monopoles are "native" to non-Abelian Yang-Mills theories (a…
Certain exact results in supersymmetric gauge theories are generated by non-perturbative effects different from instantons. In supersymmetric QCD with N colours and Nf fundamental flavours we examine the Affleck-Dine-Seiberg (ADS) superpotential using controlled semi-classical analysis. We show how for Nf < N-1 the ADS superpotential arises from monopole contributions to the path integral of the supersymmetric gauge theory compactified on R^3*S^1. These are the monopole effects leading to gaugino condensation and confinement of the low-energy SU(N-Nf) supersymmetric gauge theory.
To understand the relation between the chiral symmetry breaking and monopoles, the chiral condensate which is the order parameter of the chiral symmetry breaking is calculated in the $\overline{\mbox{MS}}$ scheme at 2 [GeV]. First, we add one pair of monopoles, varying the monopole charges $m_{c}$ from zero to four, to SU(3) quenched configurations by a monopole creation operator. The low-lying eigenvalues of the Overlap Dirac operator are computed from the gauge links of the normal configurations and the configurations with additional monopoles. Next, we compare the distributions of the neare…
We aim to show the effects of the magnetic monopoles and instantons in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) on observables; therefore, we introduce a monopole and anti-monopole pair in the QCD vacuum of a quenched SU(3) by applying the monopole creation operator to the vacuum. We calculate the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the overlap Dirac operator that preserves the exact chiral symmetry in lattice gauge theory using these QCD vacua. We then investigate the effects of magnetic monopoles and instantons. First, we confirm the monopole effects as follows: (i) The monopole creation operator makes the …
The purpose of this study is to show that monopoles induce the chiral symmetry breaking. In order to indicate the evidence, we add one pair of monopoles with magnetic charges to the quenched SU(3) configurations by a monopole creation operator, and investigate the propaties of the chiral symmetry breaking using the Overlap fermion. We show that instantons are created by the monopoles. The pseudoscalar meson mass and decay constant are computed from the correlation functions, and the renormalization constant $Z_{S}$ is determined by the non perturbative method. The renormalization group invaria…
We study topological defects constructed from diagonal and non-diagonal gluons in Abelian projection of zero temperature lattice QCD. We compare results obtained in the quenched and non-quenched vacuum field configurations and show that the density of hybrids is higher than the density of monopoles. The density of some hybrids is sensitive to the presence of the virtual fermions.
We point out that the effective action of hot Yang--Mills theories has semi-classical solutions, which are naturally identified with monopole world lines, ``frozen'' into the short imaginary time dimension. The solutions look like wall junctions: lines along which N electric Z(N) domain walls come together. They are instrumental in reconciling explicit perturbative calculations at high temperature with the magnetic Z(N) symmetry.
Under the assumption of the Abelian dominance in QCD, we show that chiral condensate is locally present around a QCD monopole. The appearance of the chiral condensate around a GUT monopole was shown in the previous analysis of the Rubakov effect. We apply a similar analysis to the QCD monopole. It follows that the condensation of the monopole carrying the chiral condensate leads to the chiral symmetry breaking as well as quark confinement. To realize the result explicitly, we present a phenomenological linear sigma model coupled with the monopoles, in which the monopole condensation causes the…
The correlation between instantons and QCD-monopoles is studied both in the lattice gauge theory and in the continuum theory. From a simple topological consideration, instantons are expected to live only around the QCD-monopole trajectory in the abelian gauge. First, the instanton solution is analytically studied in the Polyakov-like gauge, where $A_4(x)$ is diagonalized. The world line of the QCD-monopole is found to be penetrate the center of each instanton inevitably. For the single-instanton solution, the QCD-monopole trajectory becomes a simple straight line. On the other hand, in the mul…
Taken individually, magnetic monopoles and axions are both well-motivated aspects of physics beyond the Standard Model. We demonstrate that by virtue of the Witten effect, their interplay is furthermore nontrivial; monopoles break the corresponding axial symmetries explicitly and result in an axion potential lacking the usual instanton-derived exponential suppression factor. As axions are distinguished by their extremely weak interactions, any regime where their effects are enhanced may be of interest. As an application of these findings, we demonstrate that a phenomenologically acceptable pop…
We analytically show that mesonic bound states of confined monopoles appear inside a non-Abelian vortex-string in massless three-flavor QCD at large quark chemical potential mu. The orientational modes CP^2 in the internal space of a vortex is described by the low-energy effective world-sheet theory. Mesons of confined monopoles are dynamically generated as bound states of kinks by the quantum effects in the effective theory. The mass of monopoles is shown to be an exponentially soft scale Delta*exp[-c*(mu/Delta)^2], with the color superconducting gap Delta and some constant c. A possible quar…
We study the nonperturbative QCD in terms of topological objects, i.e., QCD-monopoles and instantons. In the 't Hooft abelian gauge, QCD is reduced into an abelian gauge theory with QCD-monopoles, and the confinement mechanism can be understood with the dual superconductor picture. Regarding the flux-tube ring as the glueball, we study the glueball properties by combining the dual Ginzburg-Landau theory and the Nambu-Goto action. We find the strong correlations between instantons and monopole world-lines both in the continuum theory and in the lattice QCD. The nonperturbative QCD vacuum is fil…
In this work, we carried out quantum many-body studies of magnetic monopole ensembles through numerical simulations of the path integral for one- and two-component Coulomb Bose systems. We found the relation between the critical temperature for the Bose-Einstein condensation phase transition and the Coulomb coupling strength using two methods, the finite-size scaling of the superfluid fraction and statistical analysis of permutation cycles. After finding parameters that match the correlation functions measured in our system with the correlation functions previously measured on the lattice, we …
We study the spectra of light mesons as well as the dissociation of a quarkonium and monopole-anti monopole bound state in a gluon condensate background. In order to describe the confining phase we introduce an IR cutoff in two ways, namely the hard wall and the braneless approaches. We find that the meson spectra strongly depend on the gluon condensate in the braneless approach, while they do not in the hard wall model. The latter result appears to be a more probable feature of QCD.
We (try to) pedagogically explain how monopoles arise in QCD, why maximal Abelian(MA) gauge is ``special'' for monopole study, the Abelian projection in MA gauge, its resultant degrees of freedom(photons, monopoles and charged matter fields), and the QCD-equivalent action in terms of these degrees of freedom. Then we turn to more recent developments in the subject: Abelian dominance, large $N$ behavior of Abelian projected QCD, mass of the charged matter fields, notion of an effective photon-monopole action obtained by integrating out the charged matter fields, and problems encountered in the …
We study four dimensional $N=2$ supersymmetric gauge theories with matter multiplets. For all such models for which the gauge group is $SU(2)$, we derive the exact metric on the moduli space of quantum vacua and the exact spectrum of the stable massive states. A number of new physical phenomena occur, such as chiral symmetry breaking that is driven by the condensation of magnetic monopoles that carry global quantum numbers. For those cases in which conformal invariance is broken only by mass terms, the formalism automatically gives results that are invariant under electric-magnetic duality. In…
We study the Witten effect of hidden monopoles on the QCD axion dynamics, and show that its abundance as well as isocurvature perturbations can be significantly suppressed if there is a sufficient amount of hidden monopoles. When the hidden monopoles make up a significant fraction of dark matter, the Witten effect suppresses the abundance of axion with the decay constant smaller than $10^{12}$ GeV. The cosmological domain wall problem of the QCD axion can also be avoided, relaxing the upper bound on the decay constant when the Peccei-Quinn symmetry is spontaneously broken after inflation.
Under the assumption of Abelian dominance in QCD, we have shown that chiral condensate is locally present around each QCD monopole. The essence is that either of charge or chirality of a quark is not conserved, when the low energy massless quark collides with QCD monopole. In reality, the charge is conserved so that the chirality is not conserved. Reviewing the presence of the local chiral condensate, we show by using chiral anomaly that chiral non symmetric quark pair production takes place when a quark is putted in a vacuum with monopole condensation, while chiral symmetric pair production t…
Monopole dominance for the nonperturbative features in QCD is studied both in the continuum and the lattice gauge theories. First, we study the dynamical chiral-symmetry breaking (D$χ$SB) in the dual Higgs theory using the effective potential formalism. We find that the main driving force for D$χ$SB is brought from the confinement part in the nonperturbative gluon propagator rather than the short-range part, which means monopole dominance for D$χ$SB. Second, the correlation between instantons and QCD-monopoles is studied. In the Polyakov-like gauge, where $A_4(x)$ is diagonalized, the QCD-mono…
In this talk we review how a dilute gas of magnetic monopoles in the adjoint describes the spatial k-Wilson loops. We formulate an effective theory from $S_{MQCD}$ by integrating out dof's down to scales in between the magnetic screening mass and the string tension and relate the 3d pressure and the string tension. Lattice data are consistent with the gas being dilute for all temperatures.
We review the recent results in the physics of the magnetic monopoles in gluodynamics and a dual formulation of non-Abelian theories, relevant to the physics of the confinement. It occurs that the dual gluon is a U(1) gauge boson, despite of the fact that usual gluons are non-Abelian. The effective infrared Lagrangian for gluodynamics is suggested which leads to the Casimir scaling of the string tension for quarks in various representations. We also show that the results of the calculations in lattice gauge theories confirm our theoretical predictions.
We show that the Skyrme theory actually is a theory of monopoles which allows a new type of solitons, the topological knots made of monopole-anti-monopole pair, which is different from the well-known skyrmions. Furthermore, we derive a generalized Skyrme action from the Yang-Mills action of QCD, which we propose to be an effective action of QCD in the infra-red limit. We discuss the physical implications of our results.
Magnetic monopoles are suggested to play an important role in strongly coupled quark-gluon plasma (sQGP) near the deconfinement temperature. So far, their many-body treatment has only been done classically, with just binary scattering solved in quantum mechanics. In this paper we start quantum many-body studies of the monopole ensembles. Specifically, we carry out numerical simulations of the path integral for one- and two-component Coulomb Bose systems. We determine the relation between the critical temperature for the Bose-Einstein condensation phase transition $T_\text{c}$ and the Coulomb c…
We study how monopole catalysis of baryon decay is realized in holographic QCD. Physics of monopole catalysis becomes much simpler in holographic description as it occurs due to the violation of the Bianchi identity for the 5D gauge symmetry when magnetic monopole is present. In holographic QCD we find a unified picture of the baryon number violation under magnetic monopole or electroweak sphaleron, giving a new mechanism of baryon number violation. We also embed our set-up in the string theory model by Sakai and Sugimoto.
Chiral symmetry in massless QCD is believed to be broken spontaneously. We discuss a possibility that the chiral symmetry is explicitly broken by QCD monopoles which appear only in strong coupled QCD. Namely, the monopole quark interaction explicitly breaks the chiral symmetry ( SU$_A(2)\times $U$_A$(1) ) just like bare quark mass terms. We show that the strength of the interaction is roughly $10$ times smaller than standard strong interactions. We describe it as an effective interaction $g'\bar{q}qΦ^{\dagger}Φ$ with the monopole field $Φ$ and $g'$ being of the order of $(10\rm \,GeV)^{-1}$ or…
QCD monopoles are magnetically charged quasiparticles whose Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) at $T<T_c$ creates electric confinement and flux tubes. The "magnetic scenario" of QCD proposes that scattering on the non-condensed component of the monopole ensemble at $T>T_c$ is responsible for the unusual kinetic properties of QGP. In this paper, we study the contribution of the monopoles to jet quenching phenomenon, using the BDMPS framework and hydrodynamic backgrounds. In the lowest order for cross sections, we calculate the nuclear modification factor, $R_\text{AA},$ and azimuthal anisotropy, …
