Using a real-space renormalization-group approximation, we study the anisotropic quantum Heisenberg model on hierarchical lattices, with interactions following aperiodic sequences. Three different sequences are considered, with relevant and irrelevant fluctuations, according to the Luck-Harris criterion. The phase diagram is discussed as a function of the anisotropy parameter $Δ$ (such that $Δ=0$ and $Δ=1$ correspond to the isotropic Heisenberg and Ising models, respectively). We find three different types of phase diagrams, with general characteristics: the isotropic Heisenberg plane is always an invariant one (as expected by symmetry arguments) and the critical behavior of the anisotropic Heisenberg model is governed by fixed points on the Ising-model plane. Our results for the isotropic Heisenberg model show that the relevance or irrelevance of aperiodic models, when compared to their uniform counterpart, is as predicted by the Harris-Luck criterion. A low-temperature renormalization-group procedure was applied to the \textit{classical} isotropic Heisenberg model in two-dimensional hierarchical lattices: the relevance criterion is obtained, again in accordance with the Harris-Luck criterion.
We consider the Ising model and the directed walk on two-dimensional layered lattices and show that the two problems are inherently related: The zero-field thermodynamical properties of the Ising model are contained in the spectrum of the transfer matrix of the directed walk. The critical properties of the two models are connected to the scaling behavior of the eigenvalue spectrum of the transfer matrix which is studied exactly through renormalization for different self-similar distributions of the couplings. The models show very rich bulk and surface critical behaviors with nonuniversal criti…
We investigate the low-temperature properties of the one-dimensional spin-1 Heisenberg model with geometric fluctuations induced by aperiodic but deterministic coupling distributions, involving two parameters. We focus on two aperiodic sequences, the Fibonacci sequence and the 6-3 sequence. Our goal is to understand how these geometric fluctuations modify the physics of the (gapped) Haldane phase, which corresponds to the ground state of the uniform spin-1 chain. We make use of different adaptations of the strong-disorder renormalization-group (SDRG) scheme of Ma, Dasgupta and Hu, widely emplo…
We report a comprehensive investigation of the low-energy properties of antiferromagnetic quantum XXZ spin chains with aperiodic couplings. We use an adaptation of the Ma-Dasgupta-Hu renormalization-group method to obtain analytical and numerical results for the low-temperature thermodynamics and the ground-state correlations of chains with couplings following several two-letter aperiodic sequences, including the quasiperiodic Fibonacci and other precious-mean sequences, as well as sequences inducing strong geometrical fluctuations. For a given aperiodic sequence, we argue that in the easy-pla…
We employ an adaptation of a strong-disorder renormalization-group technique in order to analyze the ferro-paramagnetic quantum phase transition of Ising chains with aperiodic but deterministic couplings under the action of a transverse field. In the presence of marginal or relevant geometric fluctuations induced by aperiodicity, for which the critical behavior is expected to depart from the Onsager universality class, we derive analytical and asymptotically exact expressions for various critical exponents (including the correlation-length and the magnetization exponents, which are not easily …
In this article we apply a recently invented analytical real-space renormalization group formulation which is based on numerical concepts of the density matrix renormalization group. Within a rigorous mathematical framework we construct non-perturbative renormalization group transformations for the spin-1/2 XXX Heisenberg model in the finite temperature regime. The developed renormalization group scheme allows for calculating the renormalization group flow behaviour in the temperature dependent coupling constant. The constructed renormalization group transformations are applied within the ferr…
We write exact renormalization-group recursion relations for a ferromagnetic Ising model on the diamond hierarchical lattice with an aperiodic distribution of exchange interactions according to a class of generalized two-letter Fibonacci sequences. For small geometric fluctuations, the critical behavior is unchanged with respect to the uniform case. For large fluctuations, the uniform fixed point in the parameter space becomes fully unstable. We analyze some limiting cases, and propose a heuristic criterion to check the relevance of the fluctuations.
We study thermodynamic properties, specific heat and susceptibility, of XY quantum chains with coupling constants following arbitrary substitution rules. Generalizing an exact renormalization group transformation, originally formulated for Ising quantum chains, we obtain exact relevance criteria of Harris-Luck type for this class of models. For two-letter substitution rules, a detailed classification is given of sequences leading to irrelevant, marginal or relevant aperiodic modulations. We find that the relevance of the same aperiodic sequence of couplings in general will be different for XY …
We present a quantum cluster solver for spin-$S$ Heisenberg model on a two-dimensional lattice. The formalism is based on the real-space renormalization procedure and uses the lattice point group-theoretical analysis and nonabelian SU(2) spin symmetry technique. The exact diagonalization procedure is used twice at each renormalization group step. The method is applied to the spin-half antiferromagnet on a square lattice and a calculation of local observables is demonstrated. A symmetry based truncation procedure is suggested and verified numerically.
The density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) method is applied to the anisotropic Heisenberg chain at finite temperatures. The free energy of the system is obtained using the quantum transfer matrix which is iteratively enlarged in the imaginary time direction. The magnetic susceptibility and the specific heat are calculated down to T=0.01J and compared with the Bethe ansatz results. The agreement including the logarithmic correction in the magnetic susceptibility at the isotropic point is fairly good.
With the help of the improved Monte Carlo renormalization-group scheme, we numerically investigate the renormalization group flow of the antiferromagnetic Heisenberg and XY spin model on the stacked triangular lattice (STA-model) and its effective Hamiltonian, 2N-component chiral $ϕ^4$ model which is used in the field-theoretical studies. We find that the XY-STA model with the lattice size $126\times 144 \times 126$ exhibits clear first-order behavior. We also find that the renormalization-group flow of STA model is well reproduced by the chiral $ϕ^4$ model, and that there are no chiral fixed …
High resolution Neutron Spin Echo (NSE) spectroscopy was used to investigate the dynamics of an 3D Heisenberg ferromagnet in the exchange-controlled regime over a broad range of temperatures and momentum transfer. These results allow for the first time an extensive comparison between the experimental dynamical critical behavior and the predictions of the Renormalization Group (RG) theory. The agreement is exhaustive and surprising as the RG theory accounts not only for the critical relaxation but also for the shape crossover towards an exponential diffusive relaxation when moving from the crit…
We investigate the critical scaling of the spin-1/2 antiferromagnet on the square lattice in the easy-plane (XXZ) regime, via numerical measurements of the entanglement entropy constructed from the zeroes of a polynomial ring. We relate these results to conformal field theory predictions for the area law scaling of entanglement entropyin the vicinity of quantum critical points in gapless conformally invariant 2d quantum systems, and in gapless systems with finite Fermi surfaces. Our measurements are focused in three low-temperature regions at fixed XXZ anisotropies of $Δ=1.01$, $Δ=1.78$ and $Δ…
We write exact renormalization-group recursion relations for nearest-neighbor ferromagnetic Ising models on Migdal-Kadanoff hierarchical lattices with a distribution of aperiodic exchange interactions according to a class of substitutional sequences. For small geometric fluctuations, the critical behavior is unchanged with respect to the uniform case. For large fluctuations, as in the case of the Rudin-Shapiro sequence, the uniform fixed point in the parameter space cannot be reached from any physical initial conditions. We derive a criterion to check the relevance of the geometric fluctuation…
We investigate the effects of aperiodic interactions on the critical behavior of an interacting two-polymer model on hierarchical lattices (equivalent to the Migadal-Kadanoff approximation for the model on Bravais lattices), via renormalization-group and tranfer-matrix calculations. The exact renormalization-group recursion relations always present a symmetric fixed point, associated with the critical behavior of the underlying uniform model. If the aperiodic interactions, defined by s ubstitution rules, lead to relevant geometric fluctuations, this fixed point becomes fully unstable, giving r…
We use a mixed-spin model, with aperiodic ferromagnetic exchange interactions and crystalline fields, to investigate the effects of deterministic geometric fluctuations on first-order transitions and tricritical phenomena. The interactions and the crystal field parameters are distributed according to some two-letter substitution rules. From a Migdal-Kadanoff real-space renormalization-group calculation, which turns out to be exact on a suitable hierarchical lattice, we show that the effects of aperiodicity are qualitatively similar for tricritical and simple critical behaviour. In particular, …
The COntractor REnormalization group method was devised in 1994 by Morningstar and Weinstein. It was primarily aimed at extracting the physics of lattice quantum field theories (like lattice Quantum Chromodynamics). However, it is a general method of analyzing Hamiltonian lattice systems, e.g. Ising, Heisenberg or Hubbard models. The aim of this work is to show the application of CORE to one-dimensional quantum systems -- the Heisenberg zig-zag model and the Hubbard chain. As a test of the method, the ground state energy of these systems will be calculated.
We introduce variants of the Ma-Dasgupta renormalization-group approach for random quantum spin chains, in which the energy-scale is reduced by decimation built on either perturbative or non-perturbative principles. In one non-perturbative version of the method, we require the exact invariance of the lowest gaps, while in a second class of perturbative Ma-Dasgupta techniques, different decimation rules are utilized. For the S=1 random antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain, both type of methods provide the same type of disorder dependent phase diagram, which is in agreement with density-matrix ren…
We derive exact renormalization-group recursion relations for an Ising model, in the presence of external fields, with ferromagnetic nearest-neighbor interactions on Migdal-Kadanoff hierarchical lattices. We consider layered distributions of aperiodic exchange interactions, according to a class of two-letter substitutional sequences. For irrelevant geometric fluctuations, the recursion relations in parameter space display a nontrivial uniform fixed point of hyperbolic character that governs the universal critical behavior. For relevant fluctuations, in agreement with previous work, this fixed …
The anisotropic XXZ spin-1/2 Heisenberg chain is studied using renormalization-group theory. The specific heats and nearest-neighbor spin-spin correlations are calculated thoughout the entire temperature and anisotropy ranges in both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic regions, obtaining a global description and quantitative results. We obtain, for all anisotropies, the antiferromagnetic spin-liquid spin-wave velocity and the Isinglike ferromagnetic excitation spectrum gap, exhibiting the spin-wave to spinon crossover. A number of characteristics of purely quantum nature are found: The in-plan…
The real-space RG approach is applied to study critical temperatures of system consisting of interacting spin chains of spin S=1 with an inner antiferromagnetic exchange which form a honeycomb crystal lattice. Using anisotropic Heisenberg model we calculate critical temperature as a function of anisotropic parameter and the ratio of interchain and intrachain interactions. A comparison our results with those obtained from RGRS calculations for the same model of spin-1/2 on a square lattice is given.
In this work we apply two different real-space renormalization-group (RSRG) approaches to the anisotropic antiferromagnetic spin-1/2 Heisenberg model on the square lattice. Our calculations allow for an approximate evaluation of the $T$ vs. $Δ$ phase-diagram: the results suggest the existence of a critical value of $Δ>0$, at which the critical temperature goes to zero, and the presence of reentrant behavior on the critical line between the ordered and disordered phases. This whole critical line is found to belong to the same universality class as the Ising model. Our results are in accordance …
We use our recently developed functional renormalization group (FRG) approach for quantum spin systems to investigate the phase diagram of the frustrated $J_{1}J_{2}J_{3}$ quantum Heisenberg model on a cubic lattice. From a simple truncation of the hierarchy of FRG flow equations for the irreducible spin-vertices which retains only static spin fluctuations and neglects the flow of the four-spin interaction, we can estimate the critical temperature with a similar accuracy as the numerically more expensive pseudofermion FRG. In the regime where the ground state exhibits either ferromagnetic or a…
The large distance behaviors of the random field and random anisotropy O(N) models are studied with the functional renormalization group in 4-εdimensions. The random anisotropy Heisenberg (N=3) model is found to have a phase with the infinite correlation radius at low temperatures and weak disorder. The correlation function of the magnetization obeys a power law < m(x) m(y) >\sim |x-y|^{-0.62ε}. The magnetic susceptibility diverges at low fields as χ\sim H^{-1+0.15ε}. In the random field O(N) model the correlation radius is found to be finite at the arbitrarily weak disorder for any N>3. The r…
The low energy properties of the spin-1/2 random Heisenberg chain with ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions are studied by means of the density matrix renormalization group (DMRG) and real space renormalization group (RSRG) method for finite chains. The results of the two methods are consistent with each other. The deviation of the gap distribution from that of the random singlet phase and the formation of the large-spin state is observed even for relatively small systems. For a small fraction of the ferromagnetic bond, the effect of the crossover to the random singlet phase on the…
We investigate the critical behavior of the S=1/2 alternating Heisenberg chain using the density matrix renormalization group (DMRG). The ground-state energy per spin and singlet-triplet energy gap are determined for a range of alternations. Our results for the approach of the ground-state energy to the uniform chain limit are well described by a power law with exponent p=1.45. The singlet-triplet gap is also well described by a power law, with a critical exponent of p=0.73, half of the ground-state energy exponent. The renormalization group predictions of power laws with logarithmic correctio…
We use the spin functional renormalization group recently developed by two of us [J. Krieg and P. Kopietz, Phys. Rev. B $\bf{99}$, 060403(R) (2019)] to calculate the magnetization $M ( H , T )$ and the damping of magnons due to classical longitudinal fluctuations of quantum Heisenberg ferromagnets. In order to guarantee that for vanishing magnetic field $H \rightarrow 0$ the magnon spectrum is gapless when the spin rotational invariance is spontaneously broken, we use a Ward identity to express the magnon self-energy in terms of the magnetization. In two dimensions our approach correctly predi…
By using the Wang-Landau flat-histogram Monte Carlo (MC) method for very large lattice sizes never simulated before, we show that the phase transition in the frustrated Heisenberg stacked triangular antiferromagnet is of first-order, contrary to results of earlier MC simulations using old-fashioned methods. Our result lends support to the conclusion of a nonperturbative renormalization group performed on an effective Hamiltonian. It puts an end to a 20-year long controversial issue.
The effect of dimerization on the random antiferomagnetic Heisenberg chain with spin 1/2 is studied by the density matrix renormalization group method. The ground state energy, the energy gap distribution and the string order parameter are calculated. Using the finite size scaling analysis, the dimerization dependence of the these quantities are obtained. The ground state energy gain due to dimerization behaves as $u^a$ with $a > 2$ where $u$ denotes the degree of dimerization, suggesting the absence of spin-Peierls instability. It is explicitly shown that the string long range order survives …
Using (infinite) density matrix renormalization group techniques, ground state properties of antiferromagnetic S=1 Heisenberg spin chains with exchange and single-site anisotropies in an external field are studied. The phase diagram is known to display a plenitude of interesting phases. We elucidate quantum phase transitions between the supersolid and spin-liquid as well as the spin-liquid and the ferromagnetic phases. Analyzing spin correlation functions in the spin-liquid phase, commensurate and (two distinct) incommensurate regions are identified.
Using the recently introduced adaptive density-matrix renormalization-group method, we study the many spin-spin correlations of the spin-$1/2$ antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain with random coupling constants, namely, the mean value of the bulk and of the end-to-end correlations, the typical value of the bulk correlations, and the distribution of the bulk correlations. Our results are in striking agreement with the predictions of the strong-disorder renormalization group method. We do not find any hint of logarithmic corrections neither in the bulk average correlations, which were recently rep…
The pseudofermion functional renormalization group (pf-FRG) is one of the few numerical approaches that has been demonstrated to quantitatively determine the ordering tendencies of frustrated quantum magnets in two and three spatial dimensions. The approach, however, relies on a number of presumptions and approximations, in particular the choice of pseudofermion decomposition and the truncation of an infinite number of flow equations to a finite set. Here we generalize the pf-FRG approach to SU(N)-spin systems with arbitrary N and demonstrate that the scheme becomes exact in the large-N limit.…
We study the entanglement properties of anisotropic open spin one-half Heisenberg chains with a modified central bond. The entanglement entropy between the two half-chains is calculated with the density-matrix renormalization method (DMRG).We find a logarithmic behaviour with an effective central charge c' varying with the length of the system. It flows to one in the ferromagnetic region and to zero in the antiferromagnetic region of the model. In the XX case it has a non-universal limit and we recover previous results.
By considering the appropriate finite-size effect, we explain the connection between Monte Carlo simulations of two-dimensional anisotropic Heisenberg antiferromagnet in a field and the early renormalization group calculation for the bicritical point in $2+ε$ dimensions. We found that the long length scale physics of the Monte Carlo simulations is indeed captured by the anisotropic nonlinear $σ$ model. Our Monte Carlo data and analysis confirm that the bicritical point in two dimensions is Heisenberg-like and occurs at T=0, therefore the uncertainty in the phase diagram of this model is remove…
In frustrated magnetism, making a stringent connection between microscopic spin models and macroscopic properties of spin liquids remains an important challenge. A recent step towards this goal has been the development of the pseudofermion functional renormalization group approach (pf-FRG) which, building on a fermionic parton construction, enables the numerical detection of the onset of spin liquid states as temperature is lowered. In this work, focusing on the SU(N) Heisenberg model at large N, we extend this approach in a way that allows us to directly enter the low-temperature spin liquid …
We study classical and quantum Heisenberg antiferromagnets with exchange anisotropy of XXZ-type and crystal field single-ion terms of quadratic and cubic form in a field. The magnets display a variety of phases, including the spin-flop (or, in the quantum case, spin-liquid) and biconical (corresponding, in the quantum lattice gas description, to supersolid) phases. Applying ground-state considerations, Monte Carlo and density matrix renormalization group methods, the impact of quantum effects and lattice dimension is analysed. Interesting critical and multicritical behaviour may occur at quant…
We study the XXZ Heisenberg model in a longitudinal magnetic field using a tensor renormalization method. Built into the tensor representation of the XXZ model is the U(1) symmetry, which is systematically maintained at each renormalization step. This enables rather large tensor representations. We extract ground state properties as well as the low lying spectrum from the fixed point tensors. With rather moderate numerical effort we achieve a very good accuracy as demonstrated by comparison with Bethe Ansatz calculations. The phase structure of the model can be accurately reproduced just from …
The effects of free surfaces on the dynamic critical behavior of isotropic Heisenberg ferromagnets are studied via phenomenological scaling theory, field-theoretic renormalization group tools, and high-precision computer simulations. An appropriate semi-infinite extension of the stochastic model J is constructed, the boundary terms of the associated dynamic field theory are identified, its renormalization in d <= 6 dimensions is clarified, and the boundary conditions it satisfies are given. Scaling laws are derived which relate the critical indices of the dynamic and static infrared singularit…
The dynamic critical behavior of isotropic Heisenberg ferromagnets with a planar free surface is investigated by means of field-theoretic renormalization group techniques and high-precision computer simulations. An appropriate semi-infinite extension of the stochastic model J is constructed. The relevant boundary terms of the action of the associated dynamic field theory are identified, the implied boundary conditions are derived, and the renormalization of the model in $d<6$ bulk dimensions is clarified. Two distinct renormalization schemes are utilized. The first is a massless one based on m…
The spin half Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the Kagome lattice, is mapped by Contractor Renormalization to a Spin-Pseudospin Hamiltonian on the triangular superlattice. Variationally, we find a ground state with columnar dimer order. Dimer orientation fluctuations are described by an effective O(2) model at energies above an exponentially suppressed clock mass scale. Our results explain the large density of low energy singlets observed numerically, and the non magnetic T-squared specific heat observed experimentally.
We explore low temperature properties of quantum triangular Heisenberg antiferromagnets in two dimension in the vicinity of the quantum phase transition at zero temperature. Using the effective field theory described by the $SO(3)\times SO(2)/SO(2)$ matrix Ginzburg-Landau-Wilson model and the non-perturbative renormalization group method, we clarify how quantum and thermal fluctuations affect long-wavelength behaviors in the parameter region where the systems exhibit a fluctuation-driven first order transition to a long-range ordered state. We show that at finite temperatures the crossover fro…
Using a functional renormalization group approach we show that at low temperatures and in a certain range of magnetic fields the longitudinal dynamic structure factor of quantum Heisenberg ferromagnets in dimensions $D\leq 2$ exhibits a well-defined quasi-particle peak with linear dispersion that we identify as zero-magnon sound. In $D>2$ the larger phase space available for the decay into transverse spin waves leads only to a broad hump centered at zero frequency whose width scales linearly in momentum.
We present a novel numerical method for the evaluation of dynamical response functions at finite temperatures in one-dimensional strongly correlated systems. The approach is based on the density-matrix renormalization group method, combined with the finite-temperature Lanczos diagonalization. The feasibility of the method is tested on the example of dynamical spin correlations in the anisotropic Heisenberg chain, in particular it yields nontrivial results for the critical behavior in the isotropic case.
Using the density matrix renormalization group technique, we evaluate the low-energy spectrum (ground state and first excited states) of the anisotropic antiferromagnetic spin-one-half chain under magnetic fields. We study both homogeneous longitudinal and transversal fields as well as the influence of a transversal staggered field on opening of a spin-gap. We find that only a staggered transversal field opens a substantial gap.
Low energy properties of half-filled Fibonacci Hubbard models are studied by weak coupling renormalization group and density matrix renormalization group method. In the case of diagonal modulation, weak Coulomb repulsion is irrelevant and the system behaves as a free Fibonacci chain, while for strong Coulomb repulsion, the charge sector is a Mott insulator and the spin sector behaves as a uniform Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chain. The off-diagonal modulation always drives the charge sector to a Mott insulator and the spin sector to a Fibonacci antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain.
We investigate S=1 antiferromagnetic quantum spin chain, whose exchange couplings are strongly disordered. By the real-space renomalization group method, introduced by Ma, Dasgupta, and Hu, the renormalization group flows are analyzed numerically in a plain of the anisotoropy of the exchange coupling vs. the staggered magnetic field. As the result, the Heisenberg point, which has a zero average of the exchange coupling anisotropy, is specified as the unstable fixed point against the anisotropy.
The thermodynamic limit and boundary energy of the isotropic spin-1 Heisenberg chain with non-diagonal boundary fields are studied. The finite size scaling properties of the inhomogeneous term in the $ T-Q $ relation at the ground state are calculated by the density matrix renormalization group. Based on our findings, the boundary energy of the system in the thermodynamic limit can be obtained from Bethe ansatz equations of a related model with parallel boundary fields. These results can be generalized to the $SU(2)$ symmetric high spin Heisenberg model directly.
We present numerical results for an $S=1/2$ Heisenberg antiferromagnet on a inhomogeneous square lattice with tunable interaction between spins belonging to different plaquettes. Employing Quantum Monte Carlo, we significantly improve on previous results for the the critical point separating singlet-disordered and Néel-ordered phases, and obtain an estimate for the critical exponent $ν$ consistent with the three-dimensional classical Heisenberg universality class. Additionally, we show that a fairly accurate result for the critical point can be obtained from a Contractor Renormalization (CORE)…
We drive a $d$-dimensional Heisenberg magnet using an anisotropic current. The continuum Langevin equation is analysed using a dynamical renormalization group and numerical simulations. We discover a rich steady-state phase diagram, including a critical point in a new nonequilibrium universality class, and a spatiotemporally chaotic phase. The latter may be `controlled' in a robust manner to target spatially periodic steady states with helical order.
We introduce a numerical method of the adaptive time-dependent density-matrix renormalization-group to compute one-dimensional quantum spin systems with periodic boundary condition. We check our algorithm to study the dynamic correlation in spin-1/2 Heisenberg XX chain at zero temperature, and the numerical analysis of errors indicates that this method could be used to efficiently simulate the time-dependent properties of low-energy dynamics in an arbitrary one-dimensional quantum many-body systems with the nearest-neighbor interaction.
Using density matrix renormalization group calculations, ground state properties of the spin-1 Heisenberg chain with exchange and single-ion anisotropies in an external field are studied. Our findings confirm and refine recent results by Sengupta and Batista, Physical Review Letters 99, 217205 (2007) (2007), on the same model applying Monte Carlo techniques. In particular, we present evidence for two types of biconical (or supersolid) and for two types of spin-flop (or superfluid) structures. Basic features of the quantum phase diagram may be interpreted qualitatively in the framework of class…
We study ground-state properties of the Heisenberg frustrated spin chain with interactions up to fourth nearest neighbors by the exact-diagonalization method and the density matrix renormalization group method. We find that ferrimagnetism is realized not only in the case of S=1/2 but also S=1 despite that there is only a single spin site in each unit cell determined from the shape of the Hamiltonian. Our numerical results suggest that a "multi-sublattice structure" is not required for the occurrence of ferrimagnetism in quantum spin systems with isotropic interactions.
An expansion based on renormalization group methods for the spin correlation function in the z direction of the Heisenberg-Ising XYZ chain with an external magnetic field directed as the z axis is derived. Moreover, by using the hidden symmetries of the model, we show that the running coupling constants are small, if the coupling in the z direction is small enough, that a critical index appearing in the correlation function is exactly vanishing (because of an approximate Ward identity) and other properties, so obtaining a rather detailed description of the XYZ correlation function.
We propose a novel algorithm with a modified Tucker decomposition for tensor network that allows for efficiently and precisely calculating the ground state and thermodynamic properties of two-dimensional (2D) quantum spin lattice systems, and is coined as the fast linearized tensor renormalization group (fLTRG). Its amazing efficiency and precision are examined by studying the spin-1/2 anisotropic Heisenberg antiferromagnet on a honeycomb lattice, and the results are found to be fairly in agreement with the quantum Monte Carlo calculations. It is also successfully applied to tackle a quasi-2D …
We present a real-space renormalization group approach for the corner Hamiltonian, which is relevant to the reduced density matrix in the density matrix renormalization group. A set of self-consistent equations that the renormalized Hamiltonian should satisfy in the thermodynamic limit is also derived from the fixed point of the recursion relation for the corner Hamiltonian. We demonstrate the renormalization group algorithm for the $S=1/2$ XXZ spin chain and show that the results are consistent with the exact solution. We further examine the renormalization group for the S=1 Heisenberg spin c…
We study the evolution of the probability density of ensembles of iterates of the logistic map that advance towards and finally remain at attractors of representative dynamical regimes. We consider the mirror families of superstable attractors along the period-doubling cascade, and of chaotic-band attractors along the inverse band-splitting cascade. We examine also their common aperiodic accumulation point. The iteration time progress of the densities of trajectories is determined via the action of the Frobenius-Perron (FP) operator. As a difference with the study of individual orbits, the ana…
