A theoretical framework is presented to treat hadronic observables within analytic perturbative QCD beyond the leading order of the coupling and for more than one single large momentum scale. The approach generalizes and extends the pioneering work of Shirkov and Solovtsov on an analytic strong running coupling. Some applications to hadronic observables at the partonic level are also discussed.
I discuss recent applications of QCD light-cone sum rules to various form factors of pseudoscalar mesons. In this approach both soft and hard contributions to the form factors are taken into account. Combining QCD calculation with the analyticity of the form factors, one enlarges the region of accessible momentum transfers.
Using methods of numerical Lattice Gauge Theory we show that in the limit of a large number of colors, properly regularized Wilson loops have an eigenvalue distribution which changes non-analytically as the overall size of the loop is increased. This establishes a large-N phase transition in continuum planar gauge theory, a fact whose precise implications remain to be worked out.
The photon is explored as an object to test the applications of QCD to the perturbatively calculable collinear parton distributions. We investigate analytic properties of DVCS amplitudes and related sum rules of generalized parton distributions of the photon using as an input their earlier calculations in the leading order. The relation of these GPDs to the quintessential functions in the framework of the dual parametrization approach is also found.
Motivated by the discrepancies noted recently between the theoretical calculations of the electromagnetic $ωπ$ form factor and certain experimental data, we investigate this form factor using analyticity and unitarity in a framework known as the method of unitarity bounds. We use a QCD correlator computed on the spacelike axis by operator product expansion and perturbative QCD as input, and exploit unitarity and the positivity of its spectral function, including the two-pion contribution that can be reliably calculated using high-precision data on the pion form factor. From this information, we…
Hadron masses show a specific dependence on the quark masses. Therefore, the variation of these masses can cause a resonance in a hadronic scattering amplitude to become a bound state. Consequently, the amplitude exhibits a non-analytic behavior at this transition. Crossed amplitudes, where the resonance can be exchanged in the t-channel, can be shown to exhibit the same phenomenon by s-->t analytic continuation. This entails possible kinks in lattice quark mass extrapolations needed to compute hadronic observables.
In light of recent tension between theory and experiment for the process ttW in the 3l channel, we present a phenomenological study of carefully chosen observables. We employ the full off-shell results at NLO QCD for ttW+ and ttW- to build the cross section ratio, an observable which is expected to exhibit enhanced perturbative stability. Furthermore, we also revisit the charge asymmetries of the top and its decay products at the fiducial integrated level. The impact of modelling is investigated for all observables.
We show that the form of the renormalization group invariant quark-gluon interaction predicted by a refined nonperturbative analysis of the QCD gauge sector is in quantitative agreement with the one required for describing a wide range of hadron observables using sophisticated truncation schemes of the Schwinger-Dyson equations relevant in the matter sector.
We present the NLO QCD corrections to the production of a W+W- pair and two b-jets, including the leptonic decays of the W bosons. Contributions from singly resonant and non-resonant top quarks are fully taken into account. We also discuss observables relevant for top quark mass measurements and top quark asymmetries.
We compute the next-to-leading order QCD and electroweak corrections to $Z$ and $W$ pole observables using the dimension-6 Standard Model effective field theory and present numerical results that can easily be included in global fitting programs. Limits on SMEFT coefficient functions are presented at leading order and at next-to-leading order under several assumptions.
The recent LHCb angular analysis of the exclusive decay B --> K^* mu^+ mu^- has indicated significant deviations from the Standard Model expectations. In order to give precise theory predictions, it is crucial that uncertainties from non-perturbative QCD are under control and properly included. The dominant QCD uncertainties originate from the hadronic B --> K^* form factors and from charm loops. We present a systematic method to include factorisable power corrections to the form factors in the framework of QCD factorisation and study the impact of the scheme chosen to define the soft form fac…
We present a framework for resumming the contributions from soft-virtual and next-to-soft virtual (NSV) logarithms. Numerical impact for these resummed predictions are discussed for the inclusive cross section for Drell-Yan di-lepton process up to next-to-next-to leading logarithmic accuracy, restricting to only diagonal partonic channels.
