We use the Bethe Ansatz to derive analytical expressions for the current statistics in the asymmetric exclusion process with both forward and backward jumps. The Bethe equations are highly coupled and this fact has impeded their use to derive exact results for finite systems. We overcome this technical difficulty by a reformulation of the Bethe equations into a one variable polynomial problem, akin to the functional Bethe Ansatz. The perturbative solution of this equation leads to the cumulants of the current. We calculate here the first two orders and derive exact formulae for the mean value of the current and its fluctuations.
We derive the Bethe ansatz equations describing the complete spectrum of the transition matrix of the partially asymmetric exclusion process with the most general open boundary conditions. For totally asymmetric diffusion we calculate the spectral gap, which characterizes the approach to stationarity at large times. We observe boundary induced crossovers in and between massive, diffusive and KPZ scaling regimes.
Thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equations for XXZ model at $|Δ|\ge 1$ is simplified to an integral equation which has one unknown function. This equation is analytically continued to $|Δ|<1$.
The one-dimensional Hubbard model with open boundary conditions is exactly solved by means of algebraic Bethe ansatz. The eigenvalue of the transfer matrix, the energy spectrum as well as the Bethe ansatz equations are obtained.
This article gives a pedagogic derivation of the Bethe Ansatz solution for 1D interacting anyons. This includes a demonstration of the subtle role of the anyonic phases in the Bethe Ansatz arising from the anyonic commutation relations. The thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz equations defining the temperature dependent properties of the model are also derived, from which some groundstate properties are obtained.
The probability distribution of the current in the asymmetric simple exclusion process is expected to undergo a phase transition in the regime of weak asymmetry of the jumping rates. This transition was first predicted by Bodineau and Derrida using a linear stability analysis of the hydrodynamical limit of the process and further arguments have been given by Mallick and Prolhac. However it has been impossible so far to study what happens after the transition. The present paper presents an analysis of the large deviation function of the current on both sides of the transition from a Bethe ansat…
A random tiling of rectangles and triangles displaying a decagonal phase is solved by Bethe Ansatz. Analogously to the solutions of the dodecagonal square triangle and the octagonal rectangle triangle tiling an exact expression for the maximum of the entropy is found.
An integrable Kondo problem in the one-dimensional supersymmetric t-J model is studied by means of the boundary supersymmetric quantum inverse scattering method. The boundary $K$ matrices depending on the local moments of the impurities are presented as a nontrivial realization of the graded reflection equation algebras in a two-dimensional impurity Hilbert space. Further, the model is solved by using the algebraic Bethe ansatz method and the Bethe ansatz equations are obtained.
The algebraic Bethe ansatz can be performed rather abstractly for whole classes of models sharing the same $R$-matrix, the only prerequisite being the existence of an appropriate pseudo vacuum state. Here we perform the algebraic Bethe ansatz for all models with $9 \times 9$, rational, gl(1$|$2)-invariant $R$-matrix and all three possibilities of choosing the grading. Our Bethe ansatz solution applies, for instance, to the supersymmetric t-J model, the supersymmetric $U$ model and a number of interesting impurity models. It may be extended to obtain the quantum transfer matrix spectrum for thi…
The basics of the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equation are given. The simplest case is repulsive delta function bosons, the thermodynamic equation contains only one unknown function. We also treat the XXX model with spin 1/2 and the XXZ model and the XYZ model. This method is very useful for the investigation of the low temperature thermodynamics of solvable systems.
The Bethe ansatz for the one-dimensional s=1/2 Heisenberg ferromagnet is introduced at an elementary level. The presentation follows Bethe's original work very closely. A detailed description and a complete classification of all two-magnon scattering states and two-magnon bound states are given for finite and infinite chains. The paper is designed as a tutorial for beginning graduate students. It includes 10 problems for further study.
A new algebraic Bethe ansatz scheme is proposed to diagonalise classes of integrable models relevant to the description of Bose-Einstein condensates in dilute alkali gases. This is achieved by introducing the notion of Z-graded representations of the Yang-Baxter algebra.
An ASEP with two species of particles and different hopping rates is considered on a ring. Its integrability is proved and the Nested Algebraic Bethe Ansatz is used to derive the Bethe Equations for states with arbitrary numbers of particles of each type, generalizing the results of Derrida and Evans. We present also formulas for the total velocity of particles of a given type and their limit for large size of the system and finite densities of the particles.
We present a new derivation of the spectral gap of the totally asymmetric exclusion process on a half-filled ring of size L by using the Bethe Ansatz. We show that, in the large L limit, the Bethe equations reduce to a simple transcendental equation involving the polylogarithm, a classical special function. By solving that equation, the gap and the dynamical exponent are readily obtained. Our method can be extended to a system with an arbitrary density of particles. Keywords: ASEP, Bethe Ansatz, Dynamical Exponent, Spectral Gap.
The Bethe ansatz equations are presented for Bariev's correlated electron chain with boundaries. This is achieved by using the coordinate space Bethe ansatz method.
The eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the master-equation for zero range process on a ring are found exactly via the Bethe ansatz. The rates of particle exit from a site providing the Bethe ansatz applicability are shown to be expressed in terms of single parameter. Continuous variation of this parameter leads to the transition of driving diffusive system from positive to negative driving through purely diffusive point. The relation of the model with other Bethe ansatz solvable models is discussed.
I introduce an ansatz for the exclusion statistics parameters of fractional exclusion statistics (FES) systems and I apply it to calculate the statistical distribution of particles from both, bosonic and fermionic perspectives. Then, to check the applicability of the ansatz, I calculate the FES parameters in three well-known models: in a Fermi liquid type of system, a one-dimensional quantum systems described in the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz and quasiparticle excitations in the fractional quantum Hall (FQH) systems. The FES parameters of the first two models satisfy the ansatz, whereas those …
New classes of integrable boundary conditions for the q-deformed (or two-parameter) supersymmetric U model are presented. The boundary systems are solved by using the coordinate space Bethe ansatz technique and Bethe ansatz equations are derived.
Integrable extended Hubbard models arising from symmetric group solutions are examined in the framework of the graded Quantum Inverse Scattering Method. The Bethe ansatz equations for all these models are derived by using the algebraic Bethe ansatz method.
The Algebraic Bethe ansatz for a supersymmetric nineteen vertex-model constructed from a three-dimensional representation of the twisted quantum affine Lie superalgebra $\mathcal{U}_{q}[\mathrm{osp}(2|2)^{(2)}]$ is presented in detail. The eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the row-to-row transfer matrix are calculated and the corresponding Bethe Ansatz equations are obtained and analyzed numerically.
The recently introduced two-parameter eight-state $U_q[gl(3|1)]$ supersymmetric fermion model is extended to include boundary terms. Nine classes of boundary conditions are constructed, all of which are shown to be integrable via the graded boundary quantum inverse scattering method. The boundary systems are solved by using the coordinate Bethe ansatz and the Bethe ansatz equations are given for all nine cases.
We study the one-dimensional totally asymmetric simple exclusion process in contact with two reservoirs including also a fugacity at one boundary. The eigenvectors and the eigenvalues of the corresponding Markov matrix are computed using the modified algebraic Bethe ansatz, method introduced recently to study the spin chain with non-diagonal boundaries. We provide in this case a proof of this method.
We investigate form factors of local operators in the multi-component Quantum Non-linear Schrödinger model, a prototype theory solvable by the so-called nested Bethe Ansatz. We determine the analytic properties of the infinite volume form factors using the coordinate Bethe Ansatz solution and we establish a connection with the finite volume matrix elements. In the two-component models we derive a set of recursion relations for the "magnonic form factors", which are the matrix elements on the nested Bethe Ansatz states. In certain simple cases (involving states with only one spin-impurity) we o…
In this paper we present two new numerical methods for studying thermodynamic quantities of integrable models. As an example of the effectiveness of these two approaches, results from numerical solutions of all sets of Bethe ansatz equations, for small Heisenberg chains, and Monte Carlo simulations in quasi-momentum space, for a relatively larger chains, are presented. Our results agree with those obtained by thermodynamics Bethe ansatz (TBA) and Quantum Transfer Matrix (QTM).
We derive, using the algebraic Bethe Ansatz, a generalized Matrix Product Ansatz for the asymmetric exclusion process (ASEP) on a one-dimensional periodic lattice. In this Matrix Product Ansatz, the components of the eigenvectors of the ASEP Markov matrix can be expressed as traces of products of non-commuting operators. We derive the relations between the operators involved and show that they generate a quadratic algebra. Our construction provides explicit finite dimensional representations for the generators of this algebra.
We present the construction of the full set of eigenvectors of the open ASEP and XXZ models with special constraints on the boundaries. The method combines both recent constructions of coordinate Bethe Ansatz and the old method of matrix Ansatz specific to the ASEP. This "matrix coordinate Bethe Ansatz" can be viewed as a non-commutative coordinate Bethe Ansatz, the non-commutative part being related to the algebra appearing in
In this text, we provide a detailed exposition of the Algebraic Bethe ansatz for square ice (or six vertex model), which allows the construction of candidate eigenvectors for the transfer matrices of this model. We also prove some formula of V.E. Korepin for these vectors, which leads to an identification, up to a non-zero complex factor, with the vector obtained by coordinate Bethe ansatz.
Based on the inhomogeneous T-Q relation constructed via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz, a systematic method for retrieving the Bethe-type eigenstates of integrable models without obvious reference state is developed by employing certain orthogonal basis of the Hilbert space. With the XXZ spin torus model and the open XXX spin-1/2 chain as examples, we show that for a given inhomogeneous T-Q relation and the associated Bethe Ansatz equations, the constructed Bethe-type eigenstate has a well-defined homogeneous limit.
We compute the eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the periodic integrable spin s XXX model using the coordinate Bethe ansatz. To do so, we compute explicitly the Hamiltonian of the model. These results generalize what has been obtained for spin 1/2 and spin 1 chains.
We compute the spontaneous staggered polarization of the cyclic SOS model at the thermodynamic limit. We use the determinant representation for finite-size form factors obtained from algebraic Bethe Ansatz.
In this paper we study the spectrum of the spin-1 Temperley-Lieb spin chain with integrable open boundary conditions. We obtain the eigenvalue expressions as well as its associated Bethe ansatz equations by means of the coordinate Bethe ansatz. These equations provide the complete description of the spectrum of the model.
A unified integrable system, generating a new series of interacting matter-radiation models with interatomic coupling and different atomic frequencies, is constructed and exactly solved through algebraic Bethe ansatz. Novel features in Rabi oscillation and vacuum Rabi splitting are shown on the example of an integrable two-atom Buck-Sukumar model with resolution of some important controversies in the Bethe ansatz solution including its possible degeneracy for such models.
An exact solution of the model of fully packed loops of two colors on a square lattice has recently been proposed by Dei Cont and Nienhuis using the coordinate Bethe Ansatz approach. We point out here a simpler alternative, in which the transfer matrix is directly identified as a product of R-matrices; this allows to apply the (nested) algebraic Bethe Ansatz, which leads to the same Bethe equations. We comment on some of the applications of this result.
We use the algebraic Bethe ansatz to obtain the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the spin-1 Temperley-Lieb open quantum chain with "free" boundary conditions. We exploit the associated reflection algebra in order to prove the off-shell equation satisfied by the Bethe vectors.
For the Bernoulli Matching model of sequence alignment problem we apply the Bethe ansatz technique via an exact mapping to the 5--vertex model on a square lattice. Considering the terrace--like representation of the sequence alignment problem, we reproduce by the Bethe ansatz the results for the averaged length of the Longest Common Subsequence in Bernoulli approximation. In addition, we compute the average number of nucleation centers of the terraces.
With the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method proposed recently by the present authors, we exactly diagonalize the $XXX$ spin chain with arbitrary boundary fields. By constructing a functional relation between the eigenvalues of the transfer matrix and the quantum determinant, the associated $T-Q$ relation and the Bethe ansatz equations are derived.
We show that the scalar products of on-shell and off-shell Bethe vectors in the algebra1ic Bethe ansatz solvable models satisfy a system of linear equations. We find solutions to this system for a wide class of integrable models. We also apply our method to the XXX spin chain with broken $U(1)$ symmetry.
Using the Bethe ansatz we obtain in a determinant form the exact solution of the master equation for the conditional probabilities of the totally asymmetric exclusion process with particle-dependent hopping rates on Z. From this we derive a determinant expression for the time-integrated current for a step-function initial state.
The boundary algebraic Bethe Ansatz for a supersymmetric nineteen vertex-model constructed from a three-dimensional representation of the twisted quantum affine Lie superalgebra $U_{q}[\mathrm{osp}(2|2)^{(2)}]$ is presented. The eigenvalues and eigenvectors of Sklyanin's transfer matrix, with diagonal reflection $K$-matrices, are calculated and the corresponding Bethe Ansatz equations are obtained.
We present a unified algebraic Bethe ansatz for open vertex models which are associated with the non-exceptional $A^{(2)}_{2n},A^{(2)}_{2n-1},B^{(1)}_n,C^{(1)}_n,D^{(1)}_{n}$ Lie algebras. By the method, we solve these models with the trivial K matrix and find that our results agree with that obtained by analytical Bethe ansatz. We also solve the $B^{(1)}_n,C^{(1)}_n,D^{(1)}_{n}$ models with some non-trivial diagonal K-matrices (one free parameter case) by the algebraic Bethe ansatz.
The normalization of Bethe eigenstates for the totally asymmetric simple exclusion process on a ring of $L$ sites is studied, in the large $L$ limit with finite density of particles, for all the eigenstates responsible for the relaxation to the stationary state on the KPZ time scale $T\sim L^{3/2}$. In this regime, the normalization is found to be essentially equal to the exponential of the action of a scalar free field. The large $L$ asymptotics is obtained using the Euler-Maclaurin formula for summations on segments, rectangles and triangles, with various singularities at the borders of the …
We discuss some of the difficulties that have been mentioned in the literature in connection with the Bethe ansatz for the six-vertex model and XXZ chain, and for the eight-vertex model. In particular we discuss the ``beyond the equator'', infinite momenta and exact complete string problems. We show how they can be overcome and conclude that the coordinate Bethe ansatz does indeed give a complete set of states, as expected.
We solve the gl(1|2) generalized model by means of the algebraic Bethe ansatz. The resulting eigenvalue of the transfer matrix and the Bethe ansatz equations depend on three complex functions, called the parameters of the generalized model. Specifying the parameters appropriately, we obtain the Bethe ansatz equations of the supersymmetric t-J model, the Hubbard model, or of Yang's model of electrons with delta interaction. This means that the Bethe ansatz equations of these (and many other) models can be obtained from a common algebraic source, namely from the Yang-Baxter algebra generated by …
The generic quantum $τ_2$-model (also known as Baxter-Bazhanov-Stroganov (BBS) model) with periodic boundary condition is studied via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz method. The eigenvalues of the corresponding transfer matrix (solutions of the recursive functional relations in $τ_j$-hierarchy) with generic site-dependent inhomogeneity parameters are given in terms of an inhomogeneous T-Q relation with polynomial Q-functions. The associated Bethe Ansatz equations are obtained. Numerical solutions of the Bethe Ansatz equations for small number of sites indicate that the inhomogeneous T-Q relation…
The quantum $τ_2$-model with generic site-dependent inhomogeneity and arbitrary boundary fields is studied via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz method. The eigenvalues of the corresponding transfer matrix are given in terms of an inhomogeneous T-Q relation, which is based on the operator product identities among the fused transfer matrices and the asymptotic behavior of the transfer matrices. Moreover, the associated Bethe Ansatz equations are also obtained.
We prove that physical solutions to the Heisenberg spin chain Bethe ansatz equations are exactly obtained by imposing two zero-remainder conditions. This bridges the gap between different criteria, yielding an alternative proof of a recently devised algorithm based on $QQ$ relations, and solving its minimality issue.
The one-dimensional asymmetric simple exclusion process (ASEP), where $N$ hard-core particles hop forward with rate $1$ and backward with rate $q<1$, is considered on a periodic lattice of $L$ site. Using KPZ universality and previous results for the totally asymmetric model $q=0$, precise conjectures are formulated for asymptotics at finite density $ρ=N/L$ of ASEP eigenstates close to the stationary state. The conjectures are checked with high precision using extrapolation methods on finite size Bethe ansatz numerics. For weak asymmetry $1-q\sim1/\sqrt{L}$, double extrapolation combined with …
We diagonalize Q-operators for rational homogeneous sl(2)-invariant Heisenberg spin chains using the algebraic Bethe ansatz. After deriving the fundamental commutation relations relevant for this case from the Yang-Baxter equation we demonstrate that the Q-operators act diagonally on the Bethe vectors if the Bethe equations are satisfied. In this way we provide a direct proof that the eigenvalues of the Q-operators studied here are given by Baxter's Q-functions.
The spin-1/2 XYZ model with both periodic and anti-periodic boundary conditions is studied via the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method. The exact spectra of the Hamiltonians and the Bethe ansatz equations are derived by constructing the inhomogeneous T-Q relations, which allow us to treat both the even N (the number of lattice sites) and odd N cases simultaneously in an unified approach.
A Bethe Ansatz study of a self dual Z_N spin model is undertaken for even spin system. One has to solve a coupled system of Bethe Ansatz Equations (BAE) involving zeroes of two families of transfer matrices. A numerical study on finite size lattices is done for identification of elementary excitations over the Ferromagnetic and Antiferromagnetic ground states. The free energies for both Ferromagnetic and Antiferromagnetic ground states and dispersion relation for elementary excitations are found.
We study the local height probabilities of the exactly solvable cyclic solid-on-solid model within the algebraic Bethe Ansatz framework. We more specifically consider multi-point local height probabilities at adjacent sites on the lattice. We derive multiple integral representations for these quantities at the thermodynamic limit, starting from finite-size expressions for the corresponding multi-point matrix elements in the Bethe basis as sums of determinants of elliptic functions.
In this note we construct Q-operators for the spin s open Heisenberg XXX chain with diagonal boundaries in the framework of the quantum inverse scattering method. Following the algebraic Bethe ansatz we diagonalise the introduced Q-operators using the fundamental commutation relations. By acting on Bethe off-shell states and explicitly evaluating the trace in the auxiliary space we compute the eigenvalues of the Q-operators in terms of Bethe roots and show that the unwanted terms vanish if the Bethe equations are satisfied.
The thermodynamic Bethe ansatz is applied to a quantum integrable spin chain associated with the Lie superalgebra osp(1|2). Using the string hypothesis, we derive a set of infinite number of non-linear integral equations (thermodynamic Bethe ansatz equation), which characterize the free energy. The low temperature limit of the free energy is also discussed.
This paper presents the exact expressions of the transition probabilities of some non-determinantal Bethe ansatz solvable interacting particle systems: the two-sided PushASEP, the asymmetric avalanche process and the asymmetric zero range process. The time integrated currents of the asymmetric avalanche process and the asymmetric zero range process are immediate from the results of the asymmtric simple exclusion process.
The spectral problem of the Heisenberg XXZ spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ chain on the segment is investigated within a modified algebraic Bethe ansatz framework. We consider in this work the most general boundaries allowed by integrability. The eigenvalues and the eigenvectors are obtained. They are characterised by a set of Bethe roots with cardinality equal to $N$, the length of the chain, and which satisfies a set of Bethe equations with an additional term.
We derive the coordinate space wave function for the inhomogeneous six-vertex model from the Algebraic Bethe Ansatz. The result is in agreement with the result first obtained long time ago by Yang and Gaudin in the context of the problem of one-dimensional fermions with delta- function interaction.
In this paper we apply the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz to compute the eigenvalues and the Bethe equations of the transfer matrix of the new integrable Lindbladian found in [1]. We show that it can be written as an integrable spin chain consisting of two interacting XXZ spin chains. We numerically compute the Liouville gap and its dependence on the parameters in the system such as scaling with the system length and interaction strength.
The asymmetric simple exclusion process (ASEP) for N particles on a ring with L sites may be analyzed using the Bethe ansatz. In this paper, we provide a rigorous proof that the Bethe ansatz is complete for the periodic ASEP. More precisely, we show that for all but finitely many values of the hopping rate, the solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations do indeed yield all L choose N eigenstates. The proof follows ideas of Langlands and Saint-Aubin, which draw upon a range of techniques from algebraic geometry, topology and enumerative combinatorics.
