The highlights of studies of mixing among scalar mesons below and above 1 GeV within a nonlinear chiral Lagrangian framework is briefly presented. Two scalar meson nonets are introduced to explore the mass spectrum and decay properties of the $I$=1/2 and $I$=1 scalar states. For the $I$=0 states, in addition to these two nonets a scalar glueball component is also taken into account, and together with the constraints from the $I$=1/2 and $I$=1 sectors, their mass spectrum is studied. The fact that an ideally mixed $q {\bar q}$ scalar nonet has a mass ordering which is opposite to that of an ideally mixed four-quark scalar nonet is exploited to gain some insight into the quark substructure of the $I$=1/2, $I$=1 and $I$=0 states below and above 1 GeV. Consequently, numerical estimates of various components of these states (two quark and four quark components of $I$=1/2 and $I$=1 states, and two quark, four quark and glue component of $I$=0 states) are determined.
The phenomenology of dark sector is complicated if dark sector is charged under a confined hidden gauge group. In such kind of model, a dark parton produced at a high energy collider showers and hadronize to a cluster of dark mesons. Dark mesons then decay to visible particles and produce a jet-like signal, which is called "dark jet" in this work. Collider signal of dark jet depends on the property of dark mesons. For example, a finite lifetime of dark meson would provide displaced vertex or displaced track, thus one can use these displaced objects to tag dark jet. However if the lifetime of d…
We construct the three-flavor Lorentz-invariant meson-baryon chiral Lagrangians at the order $p^4$, with which a full one-loop investigation may be performed. One obtains 540 independent terms. The processes with the minimal number of mesons and photons that this order Lagrangians may contribute to are also presented.
The chiral Lagrangians with vector mesons are constructed in different approaches, including the next-to-leading order Lagrangian in the vector-field approach, the next-to-next-to-leading order Lagrangians in the tensor-field and the hidden local symmetry approaches. Some redundant terms are found at the next-to-leading order in the tensor-field and the hidden local symmetry approaches. The corresponding relations between the next-to-next-to-leading order pseudoscalar mesonic low-energy constants and the ones in the hidden local symmetry approach are obtained at tree level. The equivalence bet…
As a successive work to [Phys.Rev.D 102 (2020), 034034], we derive the $1/m_Q$ corrections to chiral effective Lagrangian for heavy-light mesons from QCD under proper approximations. The low energy constants in the effective Lagrangian are expressed in terms of the light quark self-energy and heavy quark mass $m_Q$. Numerical results of the low energy constants with $1/m_Q$ corrections are given. We find that the results of pion decay constant and the masses of heavy-light mesons are improved coherently compared to that obtained in the heavy quark limit.
It is clearly demonstrated that numerical values of the $f^F, f^D$ and $f^S$ coupling constants in SU(3) invariant Lagrangian of the interaction of the vector-meson nonets with $1/2^+$ octet baryons do not depend on the chosen version of the $ω-ϕ$ mixing.
We derive the chiral effective Lagrangian for excited heavy-light mesons from QCD under proper approximations. We focus on the chiral partners with $j_l^P=\frac{3}{2}^+$ and $j_l^P=\frac{3}{2}^-$ which amounts to ($1^+,2^+$) and ($1^-,2^-$) states respectively. The low energy constants including the masses of the chiral partners are calculated. The calculated spectrum for the excited mesons are found roughly consistent with experimental data. In addition, our results indicate that quantum numbers of $B_J(5970)$ can be identified with $1^-$ or $2^-$.
We investigate the most interesting decay processes involving axions, photons and the lightest pseudoscalar mesons, making use of a chiral effective Lagrangian model with $L=3$ light quark flavors, which also includes the flavor-singlet pseudoscalar meson and implements the $U(1)$ axial anomaly of the fundamental theory. In particular, we compute the electromagnetic coupling of the axion to photons and we compare our result with the prediction of the Chiral Effective Lagrangian with $L=2$ light quark flavors. Moreover, we study the decay channels $η/η'\rightarrow ππa$ and we estimate the corre…
It is demonstrated how an utilization of all existing experimental information on electric and magnetic nucleon form factors, to be described by the Unitary and Analytic (U\&A) nucleon electromagnetic structure model in space-like and time-like regions simultaneously, can provide numerical values of $f^F$, $f^D$, $f^S$ coupling constants in $SU(3)$ invariant interaction Lagrangian of the vector-meson nonet with $1/2^+$ octet baryons. The latter, together with universal vector-meson coupling constants $f_V$, play an essential role in a prediction of $1/2^+$ octet hyperon electromagnetic form fa…
A new mathematical framework for the diagonalization of the nondiagonal vector--scalar and axial-vector--pseudoscalar mixing in the effective meson Lagrangian is described. This procedure has unexpected connections with the Hadamard product of $n\times n$ matrices describing the couplings, masses, and fields involved. The approach is shown to be much more efficient as compared with the standard methods employed previously. The difference is especially noticeable if the chiral symmetry is broken explicitly. The paper ends with an illustrative application to the chiral model with broken $SU(3)_L…
We investigate the numerical values of the low-energy constants in the chiral effective Lagrangian for the interactions between the charmed mesons and the lightest pseudoscalar mesons, the Goldstone bosons of the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry for QCD. This problem is tackled from two sides: estimates using the resonance exchange model, and positivity constraints from the general properties of the $S$-matrix including analyticity, crossing symmetry and unitarity. These estimates and constraints are compared with the values determined from fits to lattice data of the scattering lengths…
We construct, in the work, chiral $SU(3)$ Lagrangian with $D$ mesons of spin $J^P=0^-$ and $J^P=1^-$ and charmed baryons of spin $J^P=1/2^+$ and $J^P=3/2^+$. There are 42 leading two-body counter-terms involving two charmed baryon fields and two $D$ meson fields in the constructed Lagrangian. The heavy-quark spin symmetry leads to 35 sum rules while the large-$N_c$ operator analysis predicts 29 ones at the next-to leading order of $1/N_c$ expansion. The combination of the sum rules from both the heavy-quark symmetry and the large-$N_c$ analysis results in 38 independent sum rules which reduces…
Chiral Lagrangian mesonic fields can be connected to QCD quark operators via matrix operators containing scale factors. These scale factor matrices are shown to be constrained by chiral symmetry, resulting in a universal scale factor for each Chiral Lagrangian nonet. QCD sum-rules, combined with mixing angles from Chiral Lagrangian analyses, are used to determine the scale factors for the $a_0$ isotriplet and $K_0^*$ isodoublet scalar mesons. The resulting scale factors verify the universality property, providing a validation of the scale factor matrices connecting Chiral Lagrangian mesonic fi…
We estimate coupling constants for effective Lagrangians of $D$-meson, charmed, and light baryons from charmed baryon decay processes. First, we calculate decay widths for the processes $Λ_{c} \to DN$, $Σ_{c} \to D Δ$, $Σ_{c} \to D^{*} Δ$, and $Λ_{c} \to D^{*}N$ in effective Lagrangian method and quark model picture with $^{3}P_{0}$ model. By employing the coupling constants for $D^{*} Λ_{c} N$ interaction from several literatures, the strength parameter $λ$ for $^{3}P_{0}$ quark model is fixed in the decay process $Λ_{c} \to D^{*}N$. Then, the coupling constants for the effective Lagrangians …
