We study the neutralino sector of the Minimal Non-minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MNSSM) where the $μ$ problem of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) is solved without accompanying problems related with the appearance of domain walls. In the MNSSM as in the MSSM the lightest neutralino can be the absolutely stable lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) providing a good candidate for the cold dark matter component of the Universe. In contrast with the MSSM the allowed range of the mass of the lightest neutralino in the MNSSM is limited. We establish the theoretical upper bound on the lightest neutralino mass in the framework of this model and obtain an approximate solution for this mass.

We examine the allowed mass range of the lightest neutralino within the Minimal Non--minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Being absolutely stable if R-parity is conserved this lightest neutralino is a candidate for the dark matter of the universe. We establish the theoretical upper bound on the lightest neutralino mass and obtain an approximate solution for this mass.
We consider the neutralino sector in the Minimal Non--minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MNSSM). We argue that there exists a theoretical upper bound on the lightest neutralino mass in the MNSSM. An approximate solution for the mass of the lightest neutralino is obtained.
We exploit the measured branching ratio for $b \rightarrow sγ$ to derive lower limits on the sparticle and Higgs masses in the minimal string unification models. For the LSP('bino'), chargino and the lightest Higgs, these turn out to be 50, 90 and 75 GeV respectively. Taking account of the upper bounds on the mass spectrum from the LSP relic abundance, we estimate the direct detection rate for the latter to vary from 10^{-1} to 10^{-4} events/kg/day. The muon flux, produced by neutrinos from the annihilating LSP's, varies in the range 10^{-2} - 10^{-9} muons/m^2/day.
The cosmological relic density of the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) of type I string derived model is calculated. This model can accommodate large values of CP violating phases, and the electron and neutron electric dipole moments satisfy the experimental constraint. We show that the constraint from the electric dipole moment on the ratio between the gaugino masses implies that the mass of the LSP, which is bino like, is close to the lightest chargino. The co-annihilation between them is very important to reduce the LSP relic density to an interesting region. We show that the SUSY pha…
The axino dark matter hypothesis in RSII brane model is studied. Within the framework of CMSSM we assume that the lightest neutralino or stau is the NLSP, and that the axino production has a single contribution from the NLSP decay. It is found that the axino can play the role of dark matter in the universe and we determine what the axino mass should be for different values of the five-dimensional Planck mass. An upper bound is obtained for the latter
The MSSM with large tan(beta) and heavy squarks is a theoretically well motivated and phenomenologically interesting extension of the SM. This scenario naturally accommodates the (g-2)_μanomaly and the upper bound on the Higgs boson mass. In a wide region of the parameter space, visible non-standard effects are expected in a few low-energy observables, such as BR(B->tau nu), BR(B->l+ l-), BR(B->Xs gamma), and BR(mu->e gamma). We analyse the correlations of these non-standard effects under the additional assumption that the relic density of a Bino-like LSP accommodates the observed dark matter …
The electroweak (EW) sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) can account for a variety of experimental data. In particular, it can explain the persistent 3-4 sigma discrepancy between the experimental result for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon and its Standard Model (SM) prediction. The lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), which we take as the lightest neutralino, can furthermore account for the observed Dark Matter (DM) content of the universe via coannihilation with the next-to-LSP (NLSP), while being in agreement with negative results from Direct Detection (D…
We consider the sparticle and higgs spectroscopy in a class of superstring inspired models in which the string threshold corrections ensure the consistency of the string unification scale with the low energy data. The lightest neutralino is almost a pure bino and it is predicted to be the lightest sparticle (LSP). Requiring that $Ω_{LSP}\leq 0.9$, we find an upper bound on its mass which, in the case of dilaton supersymmetry breaking, turns out to be 160 GeV. The LEP 1.5 experimental lower bound on the chargino mass, $m_{χ^{\pm}} > 65$ GeV, implies that the lower bound on the LSP mass is $m_{L…
Thermal leptogenesis requires the reheating temperature $T_R \gsim 3\times 10^{9}$ GeV, which contradicts a recently obtained constraint on the reheating temperature, $T_R \lsim 10^6$ GeV, for the gravitino mass of 100 GeV-10 TeV. This stringent constraint comes from the fact that the hadronic decays of gravitinos destroy very efficiently light elements produced by the Big-Bang nucleosynthesis. However, it is not applicable if the gravitino is the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). We show that this solution to the gravitino problem works for the case where the next LSP is a scalar charge…
The lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) is stable in an R-parity conserving theory. In this article the steps needed to calculate the present day mass density of such a particle are detailed. It is shown that there can be a cosmologically significant amount of LSP dark matter in the universe. Furthermore, relic abundance considerations put an upper bound on how large supersymmetry breaking masses can be without resorting to finetuning arguments.
The effect of CP violating phases in the MSSM on the relic density of the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) is considered. In particular, the upper limits on the LSP mass are relaxed when phases in the MSSM are allowed to take non-zero values and when the LSP is predominantly a gaugino (bino). Previous limits of $\mb \la 250$ GeV for $Ωh^2 < 0.25$ can be relaxed to $\mb \la 650$ GeV. The additional constraints imposed by the neutron and electron electric dipole moments induced by these phases are also considered. Though there is some restriction on the phases, the bino mass may still be a…
The persistent 3-4$σ$ discrepancy between the experimental result from BNL for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon and its Standard Model (SM) prediction, was confirmed recently by the "MUON G-2" result from Fermilab. The combination of the two measurements yields a deviation of 4.2$σ$ from the SM value. Here, we review an analysis of the parameter space of the electroweak (EW) sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), which can provide a suitable explanation of the anomaly while being in full agreement with other latest experimental data like the direct searches for EW…

The electroweak (EW) sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) can account for a variety of experimental data. The lighest supersymmetric particle (LSP), which we take as the lightest neutralino, $\tilde χ_1^0$, can account for the observed Dark Matter (DM) content of the universe via coannihilation with the next-to-LSP (NLSP), while being in agreement with negative results from Direct Detection (DD) experiments. Owing to relatively small production cross-sections a comparably light EW sector of the MSSM is also in agreement with the unsuccessful searches at the LHC. Most impo…
In natural SUSY models higgsinos are always light because μ^2 cannot be much larger than M_Z^2, while squarks and gluinos may be very heavy. Unless gluinos are discovered at LHC13, the commonly assumed unification of gaugino mass parameters will imply correspondingly heavy winos and binos, resulting in a higgsino-like LSP and small inter-higgsino mass splittings. The small visible energy release in higgsino decays makes their pair production difficult to detect at the LHC. Relaxing gaugino mass universality allows for relatively light winos and binos without violating LHC gluino mass bounds an…
We calculate the averaged number νof the lightest supersymmetric particles (LSPs) in a shower from the decay of superheavy particle X by generalized DGLAP equations. If the primary decayed particles have color charges and the virtuality is around 10^13-10^14 GeV, the averaged number of the LSPs can become O(100). As the result, the upper limit of the mass of the superheavy particle, whose decay can produce the observed abundance of the dark matter, can increase from 10^12 GeV to 10^14 GeV. Since the typical scale of the inflaton mass of the chaotic inflation is around 10^13 GeV, the decay of t…
We study supersymmetric scenarios in which the gluino is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP), with a mass sufficiently close to that of the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) that gluino coannihilation becomes important. One of these scenarios is the MSSM with soft supersymmetry-breaking squark and slepton masses that are universal at an input GUT renormalization scale, but with non-universal gaugino masses. The other scenario is an extension of the MSSM to include vector-like supermultiplets. In both scenarios, we identify the regions of parameter space where gluino coanni…
In the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, a bino-like LSP can be as light as a few GeV and satisfy WMAP constraints on the dark matter relic density in the presence of a light CP-odd Higgs scalar. We study upper bounds on the direct detection cross sections for such a light LSP in the mass range 2-20 GeV in the NMSSM, respecting all constraints from B-physics and LEP. The OPAL constraints on e^+ e^- -> χ^0_1 χ^0_i (i > 1) play an important role and are discussed in some detail. The resulting upper bounds on the spin-independent and spin-dependent nucleon cross sections are ~ 10^{-4…
The possibility that both the baryon asymmetry and dark matter arise from the late decay of a population of supersymmetric particles is considered. If the decay takes place below the LSP freeze out temperature, a nonthermal distribution of LSPs results. With conserved $R$ parity these relic LSPs contribute to the dark matter density. A net asymmetry can exist in the population of decaying particles if it arises from coherent production along a supersymmetric flat direction. The asymmetry is transferred to baryons if the condensate decays through the lowest order nonrenormalizable operators whi…
We examine some conditions which are needed to allow the Peccei-Quinn scale (f_a) as high as the SUSY GUT scale (M_{GUT} \sim 10^{16} GeV) in the context of the PQMSSM with either an axino or a neutralino LSP. The main problem in non-SUSY models with f_a\sim M_{GUT} is the generation of an overabundance of axion dark matter (\sim f_a^{7/6}) due to vacuum misalignment. We show that once all the components of the axion supermultiplet are included, the upper limit on f_a can be evaded due to large entropy injection from saxion decays. This large entropy injection also dilutes all other quasi-stab…
Assuming that the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) is the lightest neutralino, we present a detailed exploration of neutralino-stau coannihilation channels, including analytical expressions and numerical results. We also include neutralino coannihilations with the selectron and smuon. We evaluate the implications of coannihilations for the cosmological relic density of the LSP, which is assumed to be stable, in the constrained minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (CMSSM), in which the soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters are universal at the supergravity GUT scale. We…
Supersymmetric models often predict a lightest superpartner (LSP) which is electrically charged and stable on the timescales of collider experiments. If such a particle were to be observed experimentally, is it possible to determine whether or not it is stable on cosmological timescales? Charged, stable particles are usually considered to be excluded by cosmological arguments coupled with terrestrial searches for anomalously heavy water molecules. But when the cosmology is significantly altered, as can happen in models with large extra dimensions, these arguments are in turn significantly weak…
Within the theory of supersymmetry, the lightest neutralino is a dark matter candidate and is often assumed to be the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) as well. If the neutral wino or higgsino is dark matter, the upper limit of the LSP mass is determined by the observed relic density of dark matter. If the LSP is a nearly-pure neutral state of the wino or higgsino, the lightest chargino state is expected to have a significant lifetime due to a tiny mass difference between the LSP and the chargino. This article presents discovery potential of the 100 TeV future circular hadron collider (FC…
The upper bond on the branching ratio for $b\to sγ$ decays implies a stringent lower bound on the mass of the pseudoscalar Higgs boson of the MSSM if sparticles are heavy. This leads to an upper bound on the expected event rate in experiments searching for heavy supersymmetric dark matter. Scenarios with lighter sparticle spectrum and light pseudoscalar Higgs boson are still possible, but only if $μ< 0$, which again implies a small LSP counting rate.
We investigate the cosmological gravitino problem in gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking models, where the gravitino becomes in general the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). In order to avoid the overclosure of the stable gravitino, the reheating temperature of inflation $T_R$ should be low enough. Furthermore, if the gravitino mass is larger than about 100 MeV, the decay of the next-to-LSP (NLSP) into the gravitino may modify disastrously the abundances of the light elements predicted by the big-bang nucleosynthesis (BBN). We consider the case in which the lighter stau is the NLSP and…
We compute the cosmic relic (dark matter) density of the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) in the framework of minimal $N=1$ Supergravity models with radiative breaking of the electroweak gauge symmetry. To this end, we re--calculate the cross sections for all possible annihilation processes for a general, mixed neutralino state with arbitrary mass. Our analysis includes effects of all Yukawa couplings of third generation fermions, and allows for a fairly general set of soft SUSY breaking parameters at the Planck scale. We find that a cosmologically interesting relic density emerges natur…
The requirement that the lightest neutralino $\tildeχ_1^0$ has the right thermal relic density to explain all Dark Matter in the universe strongly constrains the parameter space of supersymmetric models in general, and of the mSUGRA model in particular. Recently improved calculations of the mass of the light CP-even Higgs boson $h$ present in this model, and the increased central value of the mass of the top quark, have re--opened the possibility that $2 \mlsp \lsim m_h$. In this ``$h-$pole region'' the LSP annihilation cross section is enhanced by near-resonant $h$ exchange in the $s-$channel…
In R parity violating theories, there does not exist the {\it stable} lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). The LSP, $χ$, of MSSM decays to lighter ordinary particles with dimension 6 effective R violating interaction terms. Since the lifetime of $χ$ can be sufficiently long for small R-violating couplings, it can affect the standard nucleosynthesis scenario. This constraint gives an upper limit for the lifetime of $χ$ in the small $τ_χ$ region; $\simτ_χ>10^6$ s. This translates to the sum of squared R-violating couplings, for $m_χ=$ 60 GeV in the photino (bino) limit, $(0.12 (0.05)|λ_{i,j,k…
We consider the effects of neutralino-stau coannihilations on the cosmological relic density of the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) $χ$ in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM), particularly in the constrained MSSM in which universal supergravity inputs at the GUT scale are assumed. For much of the parameter space in these models, $χ$ is approximately a U(1) gaugino ${\tilde B}$, and constraints on the cosmological relic density $Ω_{\tilde B} h^2$ yield an upper bound on the bino mass. We show that in regions of parameter space for which the cosmological boun…
Within the framework of a constrained Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (cMSSM) augmented by an MSSM singlet-pair sector to account for the non-zero neutrino masses by inverse seesaw mechanism, the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) can be a mixed sneutrino with mass as small as 50 GeV, satisfying all existing constraints, thus qualifying as a light dark matter candidate. We study the possibility of the lightest neutral Higgs boson in this model decaying invisibly into a pair of sneutrino LSPs, thereby giving rise to novel missing energy signatures at the LHC. We perform a two-paramete…
We re-examine the parameter space of the constrained minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (CMSSM), taking account of the restricted range of Ω_{CDM} h^2 consistent with the WMAP data. This provides a significantly reduced upper limit on the mass of the lightest supersymmetric particle LSP: m_χ< 500 GeV for \tan β< 45 and μ> 0, or \tan β< 30 and μ< 0, thereby improving the prospects for measuring supersymmetry at the LHC, and increasing the likelihood that a 1-TeV linear e^+ e^- collider would be able to measure the properties of some supersymmetric particles.
We study the phenomenology of a new Minimally-extended Supersymmetric Standard Model (nMSSM) where a gauge singlet superfield is added to the MSSM spectrum. The superpotential of this model contains no dimensionful parameters, thus solving the mu-problem of the MSSM. A global discrete R-symmetry, forbidding the cubic singlet self-interaction, imposed on the complete theory, guarantees its stability with respect to generated higher-order tadpoles of the singlet and solves both the domain wall and Peccei-Quinn axion problems. We give the free parameters of the model and display some general cons…
We perform a likelihood analysis of the minimal Anomaly-Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking (mAMSB) model using constraints from cosmology and accelerator experiments. We find that a wino-like or a Higgsino-like neutralino LSP, $m_{\tilde χ^0_{1}}$, may provide the cold dark matter (DM) with similar likelihood. The upper limit on the DM density from Planck and other experiments enforces $m_{\tilde χ^0_{1}} \lesssim 3~TeV$ after the inclusion of Sommerfeld enhancement in its annihilations. If most of the cold DM density is provided by the $\tilde χ_0^1$, the measured value of the Higgs mass favours…
A highly bino-like Dark Matter (DM), which is the Lightest Supersymmetric Particle (LSP), could be motivated by the stringent upper bounds on the DM direct detection rates. This is especially so when its mass is around or below 100 GeV for which such a bound tends to get most severe. Requiring not so large a higgsino mass parameter, that would render the scenario reasonably natural, prompts such a bino-like state to be relatively light. In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), in the absence of comparably light scalars, such an excitation, if it has to be a thermal relic, is unable…

We propose a novel method for probing sleptons in compressed spectra at hadron colliders. The process under study is slepton pair production in R-parity conserving supersymmetry, where the slepton decays to a neutralino LSP of mass close to the slepton mass. In order to pass the trigger and obtain large missing energy, an energetic mono-jet is required. Both leptons need to be detected in order to suppress large standard model backgrounds with one charged lepton. We study variables that can be used to distinguish the signal from the remaining major backgrounds, which include tt, WW+jet, Z+jet,…
In light of recent 80-137 $\rm{fb}^{-1}$ results at the LHC Run 2 establishing a lower gluino mass limit of 2.25 TeV, we revisit the supersymmetric GUT model Flipped $SU$(5) with extra vector-like particles, known as $\cal{F}$-$SU$(5), with vanishing No-Scale Supergravity boundary conditions at the string scale of about $2 \times 10^{17}$ GeV, including the supersymmetry breaking $B_μ$ parameter which is strictly enforced as $B_μ = 0$. Given the proportional dependence of all model scales on a single parameter $M_{1/2}$, No-Scale $\cal{F}$-$SU$(5) was shown to possess no electroweak fine-tunin…
