NLSP - LSP decays could have dramatic influence on SUSY phenomenology at LHC. NLSP could have significant lifetime and could be charged. In at least two scenarios detectors must be used in a special way. They were not optimized for detection of heavy (semi)stable charged particles and decaying in flight (neutral or charged) NLSPs. During the last decade both ATLAS and CMS collaboration have developed strategies which allow for effective search within such scenarios.
We performed an analysis on the detection of a long lived stau at a linear collider with $\sqrt{s}=500$ GeV. In GMSB models a long lived NLSP is predicted for large value of the supersymmetry breaking scale F. Furthermore in a large portion of the parameter space this particle is a stau. Such heavy charged particles will leave a track in the tracking volume and hit the muon detector. In order to disentangle this signal from the muon background we explore kinematics and particle identification tools: time of flight device, dE/dX and Cerenkov devices.

We report a study on the measurement of the SUSY breaking scale sqrt(F) in the framework of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB) models at the LHC. The work is focused on the GMSB scenario where a stau is the next-to-lightest SUSY particle (NLSP) and decays into a gravitino with lifetime c*tau_NLSP in the range 0.5 m to 1 km. We study the identification of long-lived sleptons using the momentum and time of flight measurements in the muon chambers of the ATLAS experiment. A realistic evaluation of the statistical and systematic uncertainties on the measurement of the slepton mass and li…
Gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB) is a theoretically well-motivated framework with rich and varied collider phenomenology. In this paper, we study the Tevatron limits and LHC discovery potential for a wide class of GMSB scenarios in which the next-to-lightest superpartner (NLSP) is a promptly-decaying neutralino. These scenarios give rise to signatures involving hard photons, $W$'s, $Z$'s, jets and/or higgses, plus missing energy. In order to characterize these signatures, we define a small number of minimal spectra, in the context of General Gauge Mediation, which are parameterized…
We consider the scenarios of the GMSB models in which the dominant signal for supersymmetry at the Tevatron are the events having two or three $τ$ leptons with high $p_T$ accompanied by large missing transverse energy. This signal is very different from the multijet or multileptons (involving $e$ and/or $μ$ only) in the usual supergravity models or the photonic signals in the GMSB models (where the lightest neutralino is the next to lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP)). The parameter space where the lighter stau is the NLSP allows this possibility. We find that such a signal could be obser…
The reconstruction of non pointing photons is a key feature for studying gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB) models at the LHC. In this article the angular resolution of the ATLAS electromagnetic calorimeter is characterized from a detailed simulation of the detector. Resulting performances are used to reconstruct GMSB events with a fast simulation program, taking into account reconstruction effects. Finally, the sensitivity to extract the sparticles masses and the lightest neutralino lifetime is estimated.
We consider minimal Gauge Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking models at which the next to lightest supersymmetric particle is a neutralino with a large enough decay length to be detected at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. We analyze the potential of the LHCb experiment to determine the discovery reach for such models and found that the LHCb will be able to probe such models up to the energy breaking scale of Λ= 130 TeV.
We show how the well studied $γγ$ inclusive Higgs signal can be used at the Large Hadron Collider to test Gauge Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking scenarios in which a rather heavy Higgs boson decays into two light neutralinos, the latter yielding two photons and missing (transverse) energy
We thoroughly investigate the current status of supersymmetry in light of the latest searches at the LHC, using General Gauge Mediation (GGM) as a well-motivated signature generator that leads to many different simplified models. We consider all possible promptly-decaying NLSPs in GGM, and by carefully reinterpreting the existing LHC searches, we derive limits on both colored and electroweak SUSY production. Overall, the coverage of GGM parameter space is quite good, but much discovery potential still remains even at 7 TeV. We identify several regions of parameter space where the current searc…
We present the phenomenology of a supersymmetric model with sneutrino as the next to lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) in the gravitino dark matter scenario at the LHC. We focus on the leptonic signatures and study the feasibility of a particular trilepton signature as a possible discovery channel of supersymmetry.
Gauge mediation model with vectorlike matters (V-GMSB) is one of the few viable SUSY models that explains the 126 GeV Higgs boson mass and the muon anomalous magnetic moment simultaneously. We explore exclusion bounds on V-GMSB model from latest LHC SUSY searches.
We present a phenomenological study of Dirac electroweakinos in a $U(1)_R$ extension of the MSSM with a strictly $R$-symmetric Higgs sector (MRSSM) and gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking. One of the distinguishing features of the MRSSM is that the lightest chargino can be lighter than the lightest neutralino. Decays from the NLSP chargino to the gravitino LSP will produce exotic signals. We apply LHC-13 mass limits from both prompt and long-lived searches to the chargino NLSP regime of the MRSSM. Imposing the additional constraints coming from the 125 GeV Higgs and from the electroweak sect…
We present a study of b-tau Yukawa unified supersymmetric SU(4)_c x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R model (with mu > 0), which predicts the existence of gluino - neutralino and stop - neutralino coannihilation scenarios compatible with the desired relic LSP neutralino dark matter abundance and other collider constraints. The NLSP gluino or NLSP stop masses vary between 400 GeV to ~ 1 TeV. The NLSP gluinos will be accessible at the 14 TeV LHC, while we hope that the NSLP stop solutions will be probed in future LHC searches. We also identify regions of the parameter space in which the gluino and the lighter s…
Under the minimal SUSY standard model (MSSM), the discrepancy in the muon g-2 suggests the SUSY particles are of order 100 GeV, which is also supported by discussions on the little hierarchy problem. However, the LHC experiments have found no scalar-quarks or gluinos in such mass range, and moreover, the Higgs boson mass of 126 GeV requires, within the MSSM framework, the scalar-top mass of order 1-10 TeV. This current status forces us to abandon the simplest supersymmetry-breaking frameworks of the CMSSM and the GMSB scenarios. The V-MSSM is investigated in this dissertation, which is propose…
We present an extensive analysis of low-energy, electroweak precision, and cosmological constraints in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with Gauge-Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking (GMSB) and including the possibility of Non-Minimal Flavour Violation (NMFV). Using detailed scans over the parameter space, we show how NMFV allows to relax the stringent constraints excluding large parts of the minimal GMSB. We define benchmark scenarios and present numerical predictions for various sparticle production cross sections at the LHC.
In the semi-constrained NMSSM (scNMSSM, or NMSSM with non-universal Higgs mass) under current constraints, we consider a scenario where $h_2$ is the SM-like Higgs, $\tildeχ^0_1$ is singlino-dominated LSP, $\tildeχ^{\pm}_1$ and $\tildeχ^0_{2,3}$ are mass-degenerated, light and higgsino-dominated NLSPs (next-to-lightest supersymmetric particles). We investigate the constraints to these NLSPs from searching for SUSY particles at the LHC Run-I and Run-II, discuss the possibility of discovering these NLSPs in the future, and come to the following conclusions: (i) With all data of Run I and up to 36…
We consider the phenomenology of a class of gauge-mediated supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking (GMSB) models at a e+e- Linear Collider (LC) with c.o.m. energy up to 500 GeV. In particular, we refer to a high-luminosity (L ~ 3 x 10^34 cm^-2 s^-1) machine, and use detailed simulation tools for a proposed detector. Among the GMSB-model building options, we define a simple framework and outline its predictions at the LC, under the assumption that no SUSY signal is detected at LEP or Tevatron. Our focus is on the case where a neutralino (N1) is the next-to-lightest SUSY particle (NLSP), for which we dete…
We study a supersymmetric scenario where the lighter tau-sneutrino is the lightest supersymmetric particle, while the lighter stau-state is the next lightest. Such a scenario can be motivated within the framework of minimal supergravity, with just the addition of a right-chiral neutrino superfield. Such a spectrum leads to rather unusual signals of supersymmetry, showing stable tracks of the stau in the muon chambers. We study the event characteristics of the long-lived staus at the LHC and demonstrate that the stau tracks can be distinguished from the muonic ones through proper kinematic cuts…
In models with gravitino as the lightest supersymmetric particle(LSP), the next to lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) can have a long lifetime and appear stable in collider experiments. We study the leptonic signatures of such a scenario with tau-sneutrino as the NLSP, which is realized in the non-universal Higgs masses scenario. We focus on an interesting trilepton signature with two like-sign taus and an electron or a muon of opposite sign. The neutralinos and charginos are quite heavy in the model considered, and the trilepton signal comes mostly from the slepton-sneutrino production. …
The degenerate stop NLSP and neutralino LSP scenario is well motivated but hard to detect at the collider experiments. We propose a novel signature for detection this scenario at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and demonstrate its feasibility.
In this work we explore the 7 TeV LHC implication on light top squark (stop) and investigate discovery limits at both 8 and 14 TeV LHC using same-sign dilepton signature. We consider a simplified spectrum with gluino pair production followed by heavy gluino decay into on-shell stop and top quark in pair. The light stop is then assumed to uniquely decay into c\tildeχ_1^0, bW^+\tildeχ_1^0 or t\tildeχ_1^0. The same-sign dilepton search at 7 TeV LHC places a lower bound of about 800 GeV on the gluino mass in this scenario. We find that the 8 TeV LHC with 30 fb^{-1} luminosity can reach 960 (900) G…
The possibility that the gluino is the next to the lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) is discussed and it is shown that this situation arises in nonuniversal SUGRA models within a significant part of the parameter space compatible with all known experimental bounds. It is then shown that the gluino NLSP (GNLSP) models lead to a compressed sfermion spectrum with the sleptons often heavier than the squarks at least for the first two generations. The relic density here is governed by gluino coannihilation which is responsible for a relatively small mass splitting between the gluino and the n…
We discuss the possibility of formation and subsequent detection of a supersymmetric bound state composed of a slepton--antislepton pair at the next linear collider. The Green function method is used within a non-relativistic approximation to estimate the threshold production cross-section of the $2P$ bound state. The parameter space of Gauge Mediated Symmetry Breaking (GMSB) models allow a particular scenario in which a charged slepton ($\widetilde{e}_R, \widetildeμ_R$ or $\widetildeτ_1$) is the NLSP. Within this scenario the produced $2P$ bound-state decays, through a dipole transition, into…
The LHC inverse problem is infamously challenging when neutralinos and charginos are heavy and pure and other superparticles are decoupled. This limit is becoming more relevant to particle physics nowadays. Fortunately, in this limit, Higgsinos produce a distinctive signature if they are the LSPs or NLSPs. The identifying signature is the presence of equal numbers of Z bosons and Higgs bosons in NLSP productions and subsequent decays at hadron colliders. The signature is derived from the Goldstone equivalence theorem by which partial widths into Z and Higgs bosons are inherently related and fr…
Low-scale gauge-mediated supersymmetry(SUSY)-breaking (GMSB) models with gravitino mass m_{3/2}<16 eV are attractive, since there are no flavor and cosmological problems. In this paper, we thoroughly study the collider signal in the case that the next-to-lightest SUSY particle is the bino or slepton and investigate the discovery potential of the LHC. Our result is applicable to a wider class of GMSB models other than the minimal GMSB models and we pay particular attention to realistic experimental setups. We also apply our analysis to the minimal GMSB models with a metastable SUSY-breaking vac…
Supersymmetric scenarios with a very weakly interacting lightest superparticle (LSP) - like the gravitino or axino - naturally give rise to a long-lived next-to-LSP (NLSP). In the case of a stau NLSP, the scenario shows up in a very prominent way at colliders. We present the LHC sensitivity for these classes of scenarios in the framework of simplified models. This allows for deriving robust limits on the masses of the lightest stau, the gluino and squarks.
Natural models of supersymmetry with a gravitino LSP provide distinctive signatures at the LHC. For a neutralino NLSP, sparticles can decay to two high energy photons plus missing energy. We use the ATLAS diphoton search with 4.8 fb^{-1} of data to place limits in both the stop-gluino and neutralino-chargino mass planes for this scenario. If the neutralino is heavier than 50 GeV, the lightest stop must be heavier than 580 GeV, the gluino heavier than 1100 GeV and charginos must be heavier than approximately 300-470 GeV. This provides the first nontrivial constraints in natural gauge mediation …
New studies of the ATLAS and CMS collaborations are presented on the sensitivity to searches for non-standard signatures of particular SUSY scenarios. These signatures include non-pointing photons, as well as pairs of prompt photons, as expected in GMSB SUSY models, as well as heavy stable charged particles produced in split supersymmetry models, long lived staus from GMSB SUSY and long lived stops in other SUSY scenarios. A detailed detector simulation is used for the study, and all relevant Standard Model backgrounds and detector effects that can mimic these special signatures are included. …
The ATLAS experiment has recently presented its search results for final states containing jets and/or b-jet(s) and missing transverse momentum, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 165 pb^{-1}. We employ this data to constrain a class of supersymmetric SU(4)_c X SU(2)_L X SU(2)_R models with t-b-τYukawa unification, in which the gluino is the next to lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP). The NLSP gluino is slightly (~10-30%) heavier than the the LSP dark matter neutralino, and it primarily decays into the latter and a quark-antiquark pair or gluon. We find that NLSP gluino masses b…
How light can the stop be given current experimental constraints? Can it still be lighter than the top? In this paper, we study this and related questions in the context of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking, where a stop NLSP decays into a W, b and gravitino. Focusing on the case of prompt decays, we simulate several existing Tevatron and LHC analyses that would be sensitive to this scenario, and find that they allow the stop to be as light as 150 GeV, mostly due to the large top production background. With more data, the existing LHC analyses will be able to push the limit up to at least …
We study the collider phenomenology of sbottom-bino co-annihilation scenario at both the 7 TeV and 14 TeV LHC. This co-annihilation scenario requires that the NLSP sbottom and LSP bino masses are apart by no more than about 20% or so, and for M_{\tilde{b}_1}>M_b+M_{\tildeχ_1^0}, the sbottom decays exclusively into b+\tildeχ_1^0. We propose a search for sbottom pairs through b\bar{b} plus missing energy. By scanning the mass parameters M_{\tilde{b}_1} and M_{\tildeχ_1^0}, we investigate the discovery limits of sbottom and bino in the M_{\tilde{b}_1}-M_{\tildeχ_1^0} plane with at least 5σsignifi…
In the framework of the supersymmetric standard model, the lighter stau often becomes long-lived. Such longevity of the stau is realized in three well-motivated scenarios: (A) the stau is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) and the gravitino is the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), (B) the stau is the LSP and R-parity is slightly violated, and (C) the stau is NLSP, the neutralino is the LSP, and the their masses are degenerate. We study the event topology and the decay of the stopping stau at the hadron calorimeter at the LHC, and show that it is possible to identify the …
We investigate the collider phenomenology of gluino-bino co-annihilation scenario both at the Tevatron and 7 TeV LHC. This scenario can be realized, for example, in a class of realistic supersymmetric models with non-universal gaugino masses and t-b-τYukawa unification. The NLSP gluino and LSP bino should be nearly degenerate in mass, so that the typical gluino search channels involving leptons or hard jets are not available. Consequently, the gluino can be lighter than various bounds on its mass from direct searches. We propose a new search for NLSP gluino involving multi-b final states, aris…
Recent theoretical developments have shown that gauge mediation has a much larger parameter space of possible spectra and mixings than previously considered. Motivated by this, we explore the collider phenomenology of gauge mediation models where a general neutralino is the lightest MSSM superpartner (the NLSP), focusing on the potential reach from existing and future Tevatron searches. Promptly decaying general neutralino NLSPs can give rise to final states involving missing energy plus photons, Zs, Ws and/or Higgses. We survey the final states and determine those where the Tevatron should ha…
The low-scale gauge mediation scenario of supersymmetry breaking predicts very light gravitino, which makes the next lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) quasi stable. We study the LHC phenomenology of the case that the NLSP is the stau. When the mass of the gravitino is of the order of 10eV, the decay length of stau is about 0.1--1 mm, so that it decays before reaching the first layer of the inner silicon detector. We show, however, that, with utilizing the impact parameter of tau-jets from the stau decay, it is possible to determine the mass spectrum of sparticles precisely. It is also po…
The $R$-parity violating decays of both Wino chargino and Wino neutralino LSPs are analyzed within the context of the $B-L$ MSSM "heterotic standard model". These LSPs correspond to statistically determined initial soft supersymmetry breaking parameters which, when evolved using the renormalization group equations, lead to an effective theory satisfying all phenomenological requirements; including the observed electroweak vector boson and Higgs masses. The explicit decay channels of these LSPs into standard model particles, the analytic and numerical decay rates and the associated branching ra…
The presence of a Higgsino-like neutralino next-to-lightest sparticle (NLSP) and a keV scale gravitino ($\widetilde{G}$) LSP opens up new decay modes of the NLSP, mainly to a Higgs/$Z$ boson and the LSP. Besides, a keV-scale gravitino as a warm dark matter candidate salvages a relatively-light Higgsino-like NLSP from dark matter constraints. We focus on the prospects of observing at least one b jet and two opposite sign leptons with a large missing transverse momenta ($\geq 1 b$ $+$ $ \ell^+\ell^-+\not{\!\!E}_T$) signal at the LHC. A distinguishing feature of this scenario is the production of…
We explore the implications of 7 TeV LHC searches for a scenario in which one of the stops is the next-to lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP). The NLSP stop (\tilde{t}_1) is assumed to decay exclusively into neutralino and charm quark. We consider processes where the stops are pair produced together with a hard QCD jet. We also consider stop quarks from gluino decays, \tilde{g}\to t\tilde{t}_1^\ast+\bar{t}\tilde{t}_1. We show that the monojet ATLAS and CMS searches corresponding to 1 fb^{-1} of integrated luminosity are sensitive to stop masses of up to 160 GeV, with the 20% neutralino-sto…
The sneutrino is a viable candidate for the NLSP in SUSY spectra with gravitino LSP. In this work we study the collider implications of this possibility. In particular, we investigate whether the LHC can distinguish it (at least, in some cases) from alternative spectra, such as those with a neutralino LSP. We show that there exists a complete family of experimentally allowed and theoretically motivated spectra with sneutrino NLSP, which exhibit very distinctive multilepton signals that are difficult to fake within the MSSM. We study these signals in detail, including the techniques necessary t…
In supergravity where the gravitino is the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) decays to the gravitino with a naturally long lifetime (10^4 - 10^8). However, cosmological constraints favour charged sleptons with lifetimes below a year as the natural NLSP candidate. For this scenario we report a method to accurately determine the slepton lifetime and SUSY cross-section from observation of the decays of sleptons trapped in the material comprising the main detector (ATLAS, CMS). A measurement of the lifetime to 5% is possible after 3 years a…
We employ the ATLAS search results for events containing jets and large missing transverse momentum, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1 fb^{-1}, to investigate the constrained minimal supersymmetric model (CMSSM) with b-τYukawa coupling unification. In this scenario, one of the stops is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP), which co-annihilates with the lightest (LSP) neutralino to yield the desired dark matter relic abundance. The NLSP stop, here taken to be lighter than the top quark, is slightly (<~ 20%-30%) heavier than the LSP neutralino, and it primarily decays…
We consider the prospects for measuring squark flavor violation through the signal of single top production at the LHC. We study this signal in the context of R-symmetric supersymmetry, which allows for large flavor violation in the squark sector, however the results can also be generalized to the MSSM. The single top signal arises from squark pair production in which one squark decays to a top and gaugino, whereas the other squark decays to a non-top quark and gaugino. We study three decay patterns: (I) squark decay into a quark and neutralino LSP; (II) squark decay into a quark and neutralin…
In models where the gravitino is the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP) is long-lived. We consider an important charged NLSP candidate, the scalar tau $\tildeτ$. Slow charged NLSPs may be produced at future colliders and they may be stopped in a massive stopper which simultaneously serves as a detector for the NLSP and its decay products. We found the number of events at a 1 kton to O(10) kton detector could be significant enough to study the NLSP decays with lifetime shorter than $10^{10}$ sec at the LHC. The performance of existing 1 k…
We show that the predictivity of general gauge mediation (GGM) with TeV-scale stops is greatly increased once the Higgs mass constraint is imposed. The most notable results are a strong lower bound on the mass of the gluino and right-handed squarks, and an upper bound on the Higgsino mass. If the mu-parameter is positive, the wino mass is also bounded from above. These constraints relax significantly for high messenger scales and as such long-lived NLSPs are favored in GGM. We identify a small set of most promising topologies for the neutralino/sneutrino NLSP scenarios and estimate the impact …
We demonstrate that the lightest chargino can be lighter than the lightest neutralino in supersymmetric models with Dirac gaugino masses as well as within a curious parameter region of the MSSM. Given also a light gravitino, such as from low scale supersymmetry breaking, this mass hierarchy leads to an unusual signal where every superpartner cascades down to a chargino that decays into an on-shell W and a gravitino, possibly with a macroscopic chargino track. We clearly identify the region of parameters where this signal can occur. We find it is generic in the context of the R-symmetric supers…
The invariant mass distribution of the di-photons from the decay of the lighter scalar Higgs boson(h) to be carefully measured by dedicated h search experiments at the LHC may be distorted by the di-photons associated with the squark-gluino events with much larger cross sections in Gauge Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking (GMSB) models. This distortion if observed by the experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at 7 TeV or 14 TeV, would disfavour not only the standard model but various two Higgs doublet models with comparable h - masses and couplings but without a sector consisting of new heavy p…
Supersymmetric (SUSY) standard models in which the lightest SUSY particle (LSP) is an ultralight gravitino (m_{3/2}=O(1) eV) are very attractive, since they are free from the cosmological gravitino problems. If the neutralino is the next lightest SUSY particle (NLSP), it decays into a photon and the gravitino in collider experiments. We propose a simple test for the lightness of gravitino at the LHC.
We consider scenarios of gravitino LSP and DM with stop NLSP both within R-parity conserving and R-parity violating supersymmetry (RPC and RPV SUSY, respectively). We discuss cosmological bounds from Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN) and the gravitino abundance and then concentrate on the signals of long-lived stops at the LHC as displaced vertices or metastable particles. Finally we discuss how to distinguish R-parity conserving and R-parity breaking stop decays if they happen within the detector and suppress SM backgrounds.
Supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model with small R-parity and lepton number violating couplings are naturally consistent with primordial nucleosynthesis, thermal leptogenesis and gravitino dark matter. We consider supergravity models with universal boundary conditions at the grand unification scale, and scalar tau-lepton or bino-like neutralino as next-to-lightest superparticle (NLSP). Recent Fermi-LAT data on the isotropic diffuse gamma-ray flux yield a lower bound on the gravitino lifetime. Comparing two-body gravitino and neutralino decays we find a lower bound on a neutralino NLS…
Supersymmetric extensions of the standard model of particle physics assuming the gravitino to be the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP), and with the next-to-LSP decaying to the gravitino during Big Bang nucleosynthesis, are analyzed. Particular emphasis is laid on their potential to solve the "Li7 problem", an apparent factor 2-4 overproduction of Li7 in standard Big Bang nucleosynthesis (BBN), their production of cosmologically important amounts of Li6, as well as the resulting gravitino dark matter densities in these models. The study includes several improvements compared to prior stud…
We explore $t-b-τ$ Yukawa unification (YU) in a supersymmetric $SU(4)_c \times SU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R $ model without imposing a discrete left-right (L-R) symmetry. A number of interesting solutions that are compatible with $t-b-τ$ YU, LSP neutralino dark matter (DM), and LHC and other experimental constraints are identified. In particular, they include gluino-neutralino and stau-neutralino co-annihilation scenarios, where the NLSP gluino mass can range from 1-3 TeV. Higgsino-like dark matter solutions are also identified for which gluino masses can approach 5 TeV or so. This scenario will be …
We study a distinct supersymmetric signal of multi-photons in association with jets and missing transverse energy. At least one of these photons has the origin in displaced vertex, thus delayed and non-pointing. We consider a supersymmetric scenario in which the gravitino is the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) (with a mass $\sim 1~{keV}$) and the lightest neutralino is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP). The NLSP decays dominantly into a photon and a gravitino within the detector with a decay length ranging from $cτ_{\tildeχ}\sim$ 50-100 cm. In addition, we assume that …
We consider the generalized gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB) models with the messenger fields which do not form the complete multiplets of SU(5) GUT symmetry. Such a situation may happen in the anomalous U(1) GUT scenario because the mass spectrum of the superheavy particle does not respect SU(5) GUT symmetry, although the success of the gauge coupling unification can be explained. In this paper, we assume that one pair of the messenger fields gives the dominant contribution, and the LHC signature for the two possible messengers, X + \bar{X} and Q + \bar{Q}, are examined. We invest…
We have examined the capability of the LHC, running at both 7 and 8 TeV, to explore the 19(20)-dimensional parameter space of the pMSSM with neutralino(gravitino) LSPs and soft masses up to 4 TeV employing the ATLAS SUSY analysis suite. Here we present some preliminary results for the gravitino model set, following the ATLAS analyses whose data were publically available as of mid-September 2012. We find that the impact of the reduced MET, resulting from models with gravitino LSPs on sparticle searches is more than off-set by the detectability of the many possible long-lived NLSPs.
We investigate charged tracks signals of a supersymmetric scenario, where the lighter stop is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP). It is found that such an NLSP is stable on the scale of the detector at the LHC if one has a right-chiral sneutrino as the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP). After identifying some benchmark points in the parameter space of a supergravity scenario with non-universal scalar masses, we study a few specific classes of signals, namely, stop pair production and gluino pair production followed by each decaying into a stop and a top. It is shown that …
F-theory GUT models favor a relatively narrow range of soft supersymmetry breaking parameters in the MSSM Lagrangian. This leads to the specific predictions that a 10-100 MeV mass gravitino is the LSP, and the NLSP is quasi-stable, with a lifetime between a second to an hour. In a wide range of parameter space, the NLSP turns out to be a stau, though a bino-like lightest neutralino is also possible. Focusing on F-theory GUTs with a stau NLSP, we study the discovery potential at the LHC for such scenarios. Models with a quasi-stable stau predict a striking signature of a heavy charged particle …
The electroweak (EW) sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) can account for a variety of experimental data. The lighest supersymmetric particle (LSP), which we take as the lightest neutralino, $\tilde χ_1^0$, can account for the observed Dark Matter (DM) content of the universe via coannihilation with the next-to-LSP (NLSP), while being in agreement with negative results from Direct Detection (DD) experiments. Owing to relatively small production cross-sections a comparably light EW sector of the MSSM is also in agreement with the unsuccessful searches at the LHC. Most impo…
