We attach elliptic Dunkl operators to an abelian variety with a finite group action. This generalizes elliptic Dunkl operators for Weyl groups, defined by Buchstaber, Felder, and Veselov in 1994. We show that these operators commute, and use them to define representations from category O of elliptic Cherednik algebras. We also consider the monodromy representations of differential equations defined by elliptic Dunkl operators, and show that they yield finite dimensional rrepresentations of generalized double affine Hecke algebras.
We consider generalizations of Dunkl's differential-difference operators associated with groups generated by reflections. The commutativity condition is equivalent to certain functional equations. These equations are solved in many cases. In particular, solutions associated with elliptic curves are constructed. In the $A_{n-1}$ case, we discuss the relation with elliptic Calogero-Moser integrable $n$-body problems, and discuss the quantization ($q$-analogue) of our construction.
Using Dunkl operators, we introduce a continuous family of canonical invariants of finite reflection groups. We verify that the elementary canonical invariants of the symmetric group are deformations of the elementary symmetric polynomials. We also compute the canonical invariants for all dihedral groups as certain hypergeometric functions.
We introduce braided Dunkl operators that are acting on a q-polynomial algebra and q-commute. Generalizing the approach of Etingof and Ginzburg, we explain the q-commutation phenomenon by constructing braided Cherednik algebras for which the above operators form a representation. We classify all braided Cherednik algebras using the theory of braided doubles developed in our previous paper. Besides ordinary rational Cherednik algebras, our classification gives new algebras attached to an infinite family of subgroups of even elements in complex reflection groups, so that the corresponding braide…
Symmetric functions appear in many areas of mathematics and physics, including enumerative combinatorics, the representation theory of symmetric groups, statistical mechanics, and the quantum statistics of ideal gases. In the commutative (or "even") case of these symmetric functions, Kostant and Kumar introduced a nilHecke algebra that categorifies the quantum group $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$. This categorification helps to better understand Khovanov homology, which has important applications in studying knot polynomials and gauge theory. Recently, Ellis and Khovanov initiated the program of "oddi…
These are lecture notes of a minicourse given by the first author at the Summer School on Quantization at the University of Notre Dame in June 2011. The notes were written up and expanded by the second author who took the liberty of adding a few interesting results and proofs from the literature. In a broad sense, our goal is to give an introduction to representation theory of rational Cherednik algebras and some of its recent applications. More specifically, we focus on the two concepts featuring in the title (Dunkl operators and quasi-invariants) and explain the relation between them. The co…
We discuss a class of generalized divided difference operators which give rise to a representation of Nichols-Woronowicz algebras associated to Weyl groups. For the root system of type $A,$ we also study the condition for the deformations of the Fomin-Kirillov quadratic algebra, which is a quadratic lift of the Nichols-Woronowicz algebra, to admit a representation given by generalized divided difference operators. The relations satisfied by the mutually commuting elements called Dunkl elements in the deformed Fomin-Kirillov algebra are determined. The Dunkl elements correspond to the truncated…
Macdonald operators are well known as the 'commutative family' acting on the symmetric functions over Q(q,t). If we suppose that q=exp(h) and t=exp(beta h) and observe the Taylor expansion around h=0, we can see the second-degree Dunkl operator appear especially as the coefficient of h^2. These Dunkl operators also consist of commutative family. Then, as to the coefficient of h^3, it is natural to expect that third-degree Dunkl operator appears. The object of this paper is to calculate the coefficients of h^3 in the h-expansion of Macdonald operators explicitly, to introduce the method of calc…
In this paper, we consider a $q$-analogue of the Dunkl operator on $\mathbb{R}$, we define and study its associated Fourier transform which is a $q$-analogue of the Dunkl transform. In addition to several properties, we establish an inversion formula and prove a Plancherel theorem for this $q$-Dunkl transform. Next, we study the $q$-Dunkl intertwining operator and its dual via the $q$-analogues of the Riemann-Liouville and Weyl transforms. Using this dual intertwining operator, we provide a relation between the $q$-Dunkl transform and the $q^2$-analogue Fourier transform introduced and studied…
We study Hochschild (co)homology groups of the Dunkl operator quantization of $\Z_2$-singularity constructed by Halbout and Tang. Further, we study traces on this algebra and prove a local algebraic index formula.
We introduce the $q$-analogue of the type $A$ Dunkl operators, which are a set of degree--lowering operators on the space of polynomials in $n$ variables. This allows the construction of raising/lowering operators with a simple action on non-symmetric Macdonald polynomials. A bilinear series of non-symmetric Macdonald polynomials is introduced as a $q$-analogue of the type $A$ Dunkl integral kernel ${\cal K}_A(x;y)$. The aforementioned operators are used to show that the function satisfies $q$-analogues of the fundamental properties of ${\cal K}_A(x;y)$.
For a finite reflection group on $\b R^N,$ the associated Dunkl operators are parametrized first-order differential-difference operators which generalize the usual partial derivatives. They generate a commutative algebra which is - under weak assumptions - intertwined with the algebra of partial differential operators by a unique linear and homogeneous isomorphism on polynomials. In this paper it is shown that for non-negative parameter values, this intertwining operator is positivity-preserving on polynomials and allows a positive integral representation on certain algebras of analytic functi…
For every pair of positive coprime integers, m and n, with m<n, there is an associated generalized Cremmer-Gervais r-matrix r_{m,n} for the Lie algebra sl_n which provides a nonstandard quasitriangular solution to the classical Yang-Baxter equation. We give an interpretation of r_{n-2,n} (for n odd) in terms of differential-Dunkl operators related to the polynomial representation of dihedral-type rational Cherednik algebras. Finally, we use this interpretation to partially answer a conjecture of Gerstenhaber and Giaquinto concerning boundary solutions to the classical Yang-Baxter equation.
Based on the theory of Dunkl operators, this paper presents a general concept of multivariable Hermite polynomials and Hermite functions which are associated with finite reflection groups on $\b R^N$. The definition and properties of these generalized Hermite systems extend naturally those of their classical counterparts; partial derivatives and the usual exponential kernel are here replaced by Dunkl operators and the generalized exponential kernel K of the Dunkl transform. In case of the symmetric group $S_N$, our setting includes the polynomial eigenfunctions of certain Calogero-Sutherland t…
The kernel of the $\mathbb{Z}_2^{n}$ Dirac-Dunkl operator is examined. The symmetry algebra $\mathcal{A}_{n}$ of the associated Dirac-Dunkl equation on $\mathbb{S}^{n-1}$ is determined and is seen to correspond to a higher rank generalization of the Bannai-Ito algebra. A basis for the polynomial null-solutions of the Dirac-Dunkl operator is constructed. The basis elements are joint eigenfunctions of a maximal commutative subalgebra of $\mathcal{A}_{n}$ and are given explicitly in terms of Jacobi polynomials. The symmetry algebra is shown to act irreducibly on this basis via raising/lowering op…
We construct a two-parameter family of actions ω_{k,a} of the Lie algebra sl(2,R) by differential-difference operators on R^N \setminus {0}. Here, k is a multiplicity-function for the Dunkl operators, and a>0 arises from the interpolation of the Weil representation of Mp(N,R) and the minimal unitary representation of O(N+1,2) keeping smaller symmetries. We prove that this action ω_{k,a} lifts to a unitary representation of the universal covering of SL(2,R), and can even be extended to a holomorphic semigroup Ω_{k,a}. In the k\equiv 0 case, our semigroup generalizes the Hermite semigroup studie…
We establish a direct link between Dunkl operators and quantum Lax matrices $\mathcal L$ for the Calogero--Moser systems associated to an arbitrary Weyl group $W$ (or an arbitrary finite reflection group in the rational case). This interpretation also provides a companion matrix $\mathcal A$ so that $\mathcal L, \mathcal A$ form a quantum Lax pair. Moreover, such an $\mathcal A$ can be associated to any of the higher commuting quantum Hamiltonians of the system, so we obtain a family of quantum Lax pairs. These Lax pairs can be of various sizes, matching the sizes of orbits in the reflection r…
The analysis of the $\mathbb{Z}_2^{3}$ Laplace-Dunkl equation on the $2$-sphere is cast in the framework of the Racah problem for the Hopf algebra $sl_{-1}(2)$. The related Dunkl-Laplace operator is shown to correspond to a quadratic expression in the total Casimir operator of the tensor product of three irreducible $sl_{-1}(2)$-modules. The operators commuting with the Dunkl Laplacian are seen to coincide with the intermediate Casimir operators and to realize a central extension of the Bannai-Ito (BI) algebra. Functions on $S^2$ spanning irreducible modules of the BI algebra are constructed a…
Let $(X,ω)$ be a symplectic orbifold which is locally like the quotient of a $\mathbb{Z}_2$ action on $\reals^n$. Let $A^{((\hbar))}_X$ be a deformation quantization of $X$ constructed via the standard Fedosov method with characteristic class being $ω$. In this paper, we construct a universal deformation of the algebra $A^{((\hbar))}_X$ parametrized by codimension 2 components of the associated inertia orbifold $\widetilde{X}$. This partially confirms a conjecture of Dolgushev and Etingof in the case of $\mathbb{Z}_2$ orbifolds. To do so, we generalize the interpretation of Moyal star-product …
A higher rank generalization of the (rank one) Racah algebra is obtained as the symmetry algebra of the Laplace-Dunkl operator associated to the $\mathbb{Z}_2^n$ root system. This algebra is also the invariance algebra of the generic superintegrable model on the $n$-sphere. Bases of Dunkl harmonics are constructed explicitly using a Cauchy-Kovalevskaia theorem. These bases consist of joint eigenfunctions of maximal Abelian subalgebras of the higher rank Racah algebra. A method to obtain expressions for both the connection coefficients between these bases and the action of the symmetries on the…
Dunkl operators are differential-difference operators on $\b R^N$ which generalize partial derivatives. They lead to generalizations of Laplace operators, Fourier transforms, heat semigroups, Hermite polynomials, and so on. In this paper we introduce two systems of biorthogonal polynomials with respect to Dunkl's Gaussian distributions in a quite canonical way. These systems, called Appell systems, admit many properties known from classical Hermite polynomials, and turn out to be useful for the analysis of Dunkl's Gaussian distributions. In particular, these polynomials lead to a new proof of …
This paper has studied the three-dimensional Dunkl oscillator models in a generalization of superintegrable Euclidean Hamiltonian systems to curved ones. These models are defined based on curved Hamiltonians, which depend on a deformation parameter of underlying space and involve reflection operators. Their symmetries are obtained by the Jordan-Schwinger representations in the family of the Cayley-Klein orthogonal algebras using the creation and annihilation operators of the dynamical $sl_{-1}(2)$ algebra of the one-dimensional Dunkl oscillator. The resulting algebra is a deformation of $so_{κ…
