The system of oscillator interacting with vacuum is considered as a problem of random motion of quantum reactive harmonic oscillator (QRHO). It is formulated in terms of a wave functional regarded as complex probability process in the extended space. This wave functional obeys some stochastic differential equation (SDE). Based on the nonlinear Langevin type SDE of second order, introduced in the functional space R{W(t)}, the variables in original equation are separated. The general measure in the space R{W(t)} of the Fokker-Plank type is obtained and expression for total wave function (wave mixture) of random QRHO is constructed as functional expansion over the stochastic basis set. The pertinent transition matrix S_br is constructed. For Wiener type measure W(t) of functional space the exact representation for ''vacuum-vacuum'' transition probability is obtained. The thermodynamics of vacuum is described in detail for the asymptotic space R1_as. The exact values for Energy, shift and expansion of ground state of oscillator and its Entropy are calculated.
We prove that a harmonic oscillator driven by Lindblad dynamics where the typical drive and loss channels are two-photon processes instead of single-photon ones, converges to a protected subspace spanned by two coherent states of opposite amplitude. We then characterize the slow dynamics induced by a perturbative single-photon loss on this protected subspace, by performing adiabatic elimination in the Lindbladian dynamics.
A system of a quantum harmonic oscillator bi-linearly coupled with a Glauber amplifier is analysed considering a time-dependent Hamiltonian model. The Hilbert space of this system may be exactly subdivided into invariant finite dimensional subspaces. Resorting to the Jordan-Schwinger map, the dynamical problem within each invariant subspace may be traced back to an effective SU(2) Hamiltonian model expressed in terms of spin variables only. This circumstance allows to analytically solve the dynamical problem and thus to study the exact dynamics of the oscillator-amplifier system under specific…
Localized electronic and nuclear spin qubits in the solid state constitute a promising platform for storage and manipulation of quantum information, even at room temperature. However, the development of scalable systems requires the ability to entangle distant spins, which remains a challenge today. We propose and analyze an efficient, heralded scheme that employs a parity measurement in a decoherence free subspace to enable fast and robust entanglement generation between distant spin qubits mediated by a hot mechanical oscillator. We find that high-fidelity entanglement at cryogenic and even …
An infinite dimensional system such as a quantum harmonic oscillator offers a potentially unbounded Hilbert space for computation, but accessing and manipulating the entire state space requires a physically unrealistic amount of energy. When such a quantum harmonic oscillator is coupled to a qubit, for example via a Jaynes-Cummings interaction, it is well known that the total Hilbert space can be separated into independently accessible subspaces of constant energy, but the number of subspaces is still infinite. Nevertheless, a closed four-dimensional Hilbert space can be analytically construct…
We consider the model of a quantum harmonic oscillator governed by a Lindblad master equation where the typical drive and loss channels are multi-photon processes instead of single-photon ones; this implies a dissipation operator of order 2k with integer k>1 for a k-photon process. We prove that the corresponding PDE makes the state converge, for large time, to an invariant subspace spanned by a set of k selected basis vectors; the latter physically correspond to so-called coherent states with the same amplitude and uniformly distributed phases. We also show that this convergence features a fi…
Quantum annealing aims to solve combinatorial optimization problems mapped on to Ising interactions between quantum spins. A critical factor that limits the success of a quantum annealer is its sensitivity to noise, and intensive research is consequently focussed towards developing noise-resilient annealers. Here we propose a new paradigm for quantum annealing with a scalable network of all-to-all connected, two-photon driven Kerr-nonlinear resonators. Each of these resonators encode an Ising spin in a robust degenerate subspace formed by two coherent states of opposite phases. The fully-conne…
We design faster-than-adiabatic state transfers (switching of quantum numbers) in time-dependent coupled-oscillator Hamiltonians. The manipulation to drive the process is found using a two-dimensional invariant recently proposed in S. Simsek and F. Mintert, Quantum 5 (2021) 409, and involves both rotation and transient scaling of the principal axes of the potential in a Cartesian representation. Importantly, this invariant is degenerate except for the subspace spanned by its ground state. Such degeneracy, in general, allows for infidelities of the final states with respect to ideal target eige…
A challenge for molecular quantum dynamics (QD) calculations is the curse of dimensionality with respect to the nuclear degrees of freedom. A common approach that works especially well for fast reactive processes is to reduce the dimensionality of the system to a few most relevant coordinates. Identifying these can become a very difficult task, since they often are highly unintuitive. We present a machine learning approach that utilizes an autoencoder that is trained to find a low-dimensional representation of a set of molecular configurations. These configurations are generated by trajectory …

The implementation of quantum entangling gates between qubits is essential to achieve scalable quantum computation. Here, we propose a robust scheme to realize an entangling gate for distant solid-state spins via a mechanical oscillator in its thermal equilibrium state. By appropriate Hamiltonian engineering and usage of a protected subspace, we show that the proposed scheme is able to significantly reduce the thermal effect of the mechanical oscillator on the spins. In particular, we demonstrate that a high entangling gate fidelity can be achieved even for a relatively high thermal occupation…
(Noncanonical) field quantization by means of a single harmonic oscillator
本文是quant-ph/9912102的扩展。

The paper presents a new method of geometric solution of a Schrodinger equation by a construction of an equivalent first-order partial differential equation with a bigger number of variables. The equivalent equation shall be restricted to a specific subspace with auxiliary conditions which are obtained from a coherent state transform. The method is applied to the fundamental case of the harmonic oscillator and coherent state transform generated by the minimal nilpotent step three Lie group---the shear group (also known as quartic group in literature). We obtain a geometric solution for an arbi…
We propose a new inner product for scalar fields that are solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation with $m^2<0$. This inner product is non-local, bearing an integral kernel including Bessel functions of the second kind, and the associated norm proves to be positive definite in the subspace of oscillatory solutions, as opposed to the conventional one. Poincaré transformations are unitarily implemented on this subspace, which is the support of a unitary and irreducible representation of the proper orthochronous Poincaré group. We also provide a new Fourier Transform between configuration and momen…

Entanglement is a vital property of multipartite quantum systems, characterised by the inseparability of quantum states of objects regardless of their spatial separation. Generation of entanglement between increasingly macroscopic and disparate systems is an ongoing effort in quantum science which enables hybrid quantum networks, quantum-enhanced sensing, and probing the fundamental limits of quantum theory. The disparity of hybrid systems and the vulnerability of quantum correlations have thus far hampered the generation of macroscopic hybrid entanglement. Here we demonstrate, for the first t…
We investigate the onset of chaos in a periodically kicked Dicke model (KDM), using the out-of-time-order correlator (OTOC) as a diagnostic tool, in both the oscillator and the spin subspaces. In the large spin limit, the classical Hamiltonian map is constructed, which allows us to investigate the corresponding phase space dynamics and to compute the Lyapunov exponent. We show that the growth rate of the OTOC for the canonically conjugate coordinates of the oscillator is able to capture the Lyapunov exponent in the chaotic regime. The onset of chaos is further investigated using the saturation…
