The quantum mechanical evolution of an accelerated extended detector coupled to a massless scalar field is exhibited and the back-reaction due to emission or absorption processes computed at first order in the change of the detector's mass and acceleration. We consider an optical cavity enclosed by a freely moving mirror attached to a spring and we study the quantum friction effect exerted by the dynamical Casimir emission on the mechanical motion of the mirror. We investigate a recent development of the black hole information problem, in which a practical paradox has been formulated to show that complementarity is insufficient. A crucial ingredient in this practical paradox is to distill information from the early Hawking radiation within the past lightcone of the black hole. We study the dynamics of scalar metric fluctuations in a non-perturbative variational formalism recently introduced, by which the dynamics of an geometrical scalar field $θ$, describes the quantum geometrical effects on a Weylian-like manifold with respect to a background Riemannian space-time.
