An explicitly covariant formalism for dealing with Bargmann-Wigner fields is developed. An invariance of the Barmann-Wigner norm can be proved in a unified way for both massive and massless fields. It is shown that there exists some freedom in the choice of the form of the Bargmann-Wigner scalar product.

By using the localized character of canonical coherent states, we give a straightforward derivation of the Bargmann integral representation of Wigner function (W). A non-integral representation is presented in terms of a quadratic form V*FV, where F is a self-adjoint matrix whose entries are tabulated functions and V is a vector depending in a simple recursive way on the derivatives of the Bargmann function. The Bargmann-Wigner (BW) scalar product is a particular case of a larger class of scalar products parametrized by a family of world-vectors. The choice of null and $p$-dependent world-vectors leads to BW amplitudes which behave as local $SU(2)$ spinors (BW-spinors) if {\it passive\/} transformations are concerned. The choice of null directions leads to a simplified formalism which allows for an application of ordinary, manifestly covariant spinor techniques in the context of infinite dimensional unitary representations of the Poincaré group.

We proceed to derive equations for the symmetric tensor of the second rank on the basis of the Bargmann-Wigner formalism in a straightforward way. The symmetric multispinor of the fourth rank is used. It is constructed out of the Dirac 4-spinors. Due to serious problems with the interpretation of the results obtained on using the standard procedure we generalize it and obtain the spin-2 relativistic equations, which are consistent with the previous one. The importance of the 4-vector field (and its gauge part) is pointed out.
We reinvestigate Bargmann's superselection rule for the overall mass of $n$ particles in ordinary quantum mechanics with Galilei invariant interaction potential. We point out that in order for mass to define a superselection rule it should be considered as a dynamical variable. We present a minimal extension of the original dynamics in which mass it treated as dynamical variable. We analyze different families of discrete maps\ in the N-qubit systems in the context of the permutation invariance. We prove that the tomographic condition imposed on the self-dual (Wigner) map is incompatible with the requirement of the invariance under particle permutations, which makes it impossible to project the Wootters-like Wigner function into the space of symmetric measurements. We also provide several \textit{explicit} forms of the self-dual mappings: a) tomographic and b) permutation invariant \ and analyze the symmetric projection in the latter case.

Based on Takahashi-Umezawa thermo field dynamics and the order-invariance of Weyl ordered operators under similar transformations, we present a new approach to deriving the exact Wigner functions of thermo number state, photon subtracted and added thermo vacuum state. We find that these Wigner functions are related to the Gaussian-Laguerre type functions of temperature, whose statistical properties are then analysed.

We study entanglement distillability of bipartite mixed spin states under Wigner rotations induced by Lorentz transformations. We define weak and strong criteria for relativistic isoentangled and isodistillable states to characterize relative and invariant behavior of entanglement and distillability. We exemplify these criteria in the context of Werner states, where fully analytical methods can be achieved and all relevant cases presented.
