The entanglement dynamics of arrays of qubits is analysed in the presence of some general sources of noise and disorder. In particular, we consider linear chains of Josephson qubits in experimentally realistic conditions. Electromagnetic and other (spin or boson) fluctuations due to the background circuitry and surrounding substrate, finite temperature in the external environment, and disorder in the initial preparation and the control parameters are embedded into our model. We show that the amount of disorder that is typically present in current experiments does not affect the entanglement dynamics significantly, while the presence of noise can have a drastic influence on the generation and propagation of entanglement. We examine under which circumstances the system exhibits steady-state entanglement for both short (N < 10) and long (N > 30) chains and show that, remarkably, there are parameter regimes where the steady-state entanglement is strictly non-monotonic as a function of the noise strength. We also present optimized schemes for entanglement verification and quantification based on simple correlation measurements that are experimentally more economic than state tomography.
We investigate the thermal entanglement in two superconducting qubits for arbitrary interaction strength and ground state frequencies. We calculate the concurrence of the system to quantify the thermal entanglement. We suggest a scheme, where an external tunable coupler qubit sandwich between two superconducting qubits generates entanglement. The behavior of concurrence is analyzed for three different cases, in which we consider the effects of the temperature, the qubit-qubit effective coupling strength, and the qubit frequencies on the thermal entanglement. What deserves mentioning here is th…
We study the degree to which quantum entanglement survives when a three-qubit entangled state is copied by using local and non-local processes, respectively, and investigate iterating quantum copying for the three-qubit system. There may exist inter-three-qubit entanglement and inter-two-qubit entanglement for the three-qubit system. We show that both local and non-local copying processes degrade quantum entanglement in the three-particle system due to a residual correlation between the copied output and the copying machine. We also show that the inter-two-qubit entanglement is preserved bette…
Using an exactly solvable pure dephasing model, we show how entanglement between qubits can be generated via the interaction with a common environment and concurrent application of suitable control pulses. The control pulses are able to effectively remove the detrimental effect of the environment while preserving the indirect interaction between the qubits, thereby leading to the generation of near-perfect entanglement. Furthermore, we also investigate the entanglement dynamics if the qubits are directly interacting; this interaction may even contain a noise term. The present of this additiona…
We establish a characterization of multi-qubit entanglement constraints in terms of non-negative power of entanglement measures based on unified-$(q,s)$ entropy. Using the Hamming weight of the binary vector related with the distribution of subsystems, we establish a class of tight monogamy inequalities of multi-qubit entanglement based on the $α$th-power of unified-$(q,s)$ entanglement for $α\geq 1$. For $0 \leq β\leq 1$, we establish a class of tight polygamy inequalities of multi-qubit entanglement in terms of the $β$th-power of unified-$(q,s)$ entanglement of assistance. Thus our results c…
L. Lamata et al. have presented an entanglement classification of four qubits under stochastic local operation and classical communication (SLOCC) based on inductive approach [Phys. Rev. A \textbf{75}, 022318 (2007)]. While it works well for three qubits, we show that some of the families for four qubits have overlaps and hence this approach is not valid for entanglement classification of four or more qubits under SLOCC.
Given a multipartite quantum system that consists of two-level particles (qubits), one may or may not have access to all the subsystems. What can we know about the entanglement of the multiqubit system and residual correlations beyond two-tangle if we have access only to two-qubits at a time? Algebraic analysis of two-qubit states yields monogamy constraints on distribution of entanglement between sub-systems of an N-qubit state and criterion to determine if the state has multipartite entanglement. Monogamy constraints, reported in this letter, are relations between well known entanglement mea…
Motivated by recent experimental study on coherent dynamics transfer in three interacting atoms or electron spins \cite{Barredo:2015,Rosenfeld:2018}, here we study entanglement entropy transfer in three interacting qubits. We analytically calculate time evolutions of wave function, density matrix and entanglement of the system. We find that initially entangled two qubits may alternatively transfer their entanglement entropy to other two qubit pairs. So that dynamical evolution of three interacting qubits may produce a genuine three-partite entangled state through entanglement entropy transfers…
In this work we study the production and swapping of non-gaussian multipartite entanglement in a setup containing a parametric amplifier which generates three photons in different modes coupled to three qubits. We prove that the entanglement generated in this setup is of nongaussian nature. We introduce witnesses of genuine tripartite nongaussian entanglement, valid both for mode and qubit entanglement. Moreover, those witnesses show that the entanglement generated among the photons can be swapped to the qubits, and indeed the qubits display nongaussian genuine tripartite entanglement over a w…
We report on the realization and verification of quantum entanglement between an NV electron spin qubit and a telecom-band photonic qubit. First we generate entanglement between the spin qubit and a 637 nm photonic time-bin qubit, followed by photonic quantum frequency conversion that transfers the entanglement to a 1588 nm photon. We characterize the resulting state by correlation measurements in different bases and find a lower bound to the Bell state fidelity of F = 0.77 +/- 0.03. This result presents an important step towards extending quantum networks via optical fiber infrastructure.
