Canonical decomposition of quantum correlations in the framework of generalized nonsignaling theories

We introduce the measures, Bell discord (BD) and Mermin discord (MD), to characterize bipartite quantum correlations in the context of nonsignaling (NS) polytopes. These measures divide the full NS polytope into four regions depending on whether BD and/or MD is zero. Manifestly Covariant Canonical Quantization of the Scalar Field and Particle Localization

Particle localization within quantum field theory is revisited. Canonical quantization of a free scalar field theory is performed in a manifestly Lorentz covariant way with respect to an arbitrary 3-surface $Σ$, which is the simultaneity surface associated with the observer, whose proper time direction is orthogonal to $Σ$. Covariant localizations in the torus and the phase observables

We describe all the localization observables of a quantum particle in a one-dimensional box in terms of sequences of unit vectors in a Hilbert space. An alternative representation in terms of positive semidefinite complex matrices is furnished and the commutative localizations are singled out. As a consequence, we also get a vector sequence characterization of the covariant phase observables.

Energy Measurements and Preparation of Canonical Phase States of a Nano-Mechanical Resonator

We show that a continuous quantum non-demolition measurement of the energy of a nanomechanical resonator can be achieved by monitoring the resonator with a quantum point contact via a Cooper-pair box. This technique can further be used to prepare highly non-classical states of two resonators, such as canonical phase-reference states, and so-called "noon" states.
