We will show how to measure the overlap between photon polarization states with the use of linear optics and postselection only. Our scheme is based on quantum teleportation and succeeds with the probability of 1/8.

We study the interaction of a weak probe field, having two orthogonally polarized components, with an optically dense medium of four-level atoms in a tripod configuration. We present a proposal for deterministic quantum teleportation of electrons in a semiconductor nanostructure consisting of a single and a double quantum dot. The central issue addressed in this paper is how to design and implement the most efficient - in terms of the required number of single and two-qubit operations - deterministic teleportation protocol for this system.
