A version of John Conway's game of Life is presented where the normal binary values of the cells are replaced by oscillators which can represent a superposition of states. The original game of Life is reproduced in the classical limit, but in general additional properties not seen in the original game are present that display some of the effects of a quantum mechanical Life. In particular, interference effects are seen.

Conway's classic game of life is a two-dimensional cellular automaton in which each cell, either alive or dead, evolves according to rules based on its local environment. The semi-quantum game of life (SQGOL) is an adaptation in which each cell is in a superposed state of both dead and alive and evolves according to modified rules. $(H,ρ)$-induced dynamics and the quantum game of life

We propose an extended version of quantum dynamics for a certain system S, whose evolution is ruled by a Hamiltonian $H$, its initial conditions, and a suitable set $ρ$ of {\em rules}, acting repeatedly on S. A Quantum Game of Life

This research describes a three dimensional quantum cellular automaton (QCA) which can simulate all other 3D QCA. This intrinsically universal QCA belongs to the simplest subclass of QCA: Partitioned QCA (PQCA). PQCA are QCA of a particular form, where incoming information is scattered by a fixed unitary U before being redistributed and rescattered. Our construction is minimal amongst PQCA, having block size 2 x 2 x 2 and cell dimension 2. Signals, wires and gates emerge in an elegant fashion.

Quantum Game of Life

We introduce a quantum version of the Game of Life and we use it to study the emergence of complexity in a quantum world. We show that the quantum evolution displays signatures of complex behaviour similar to the classical one, however a regime exists, where the quantum Game of Life creates more complexity, in terms of diversity, with respect to the corresponding classical reversible one.

Entanglement in the Quantum Game of Life

We investigate the quantum dynamics of a spin chain that implements a quantum analog of Conway's game of life. We solve the time-dependent Schrödinger equation starting with initial separable states and analyse the evolution of quantum correlations across the lattice. Entanglement witness game

Motivated by Buscemi's semi-quantum nonlocal game [PRL 108, 200401(2012)], We propose an entanglement witness game, a quantum game based on entanglement witness. Similar as the semi-quantum nonlocal game, the existence of entanglement shared by the players is necessary and sufficient for obtaining a positive average payoff in our entanglement witness game. Two explicit examples are constructed to demonstrate how to play our entanglement witness game and its relations with the CHSH nonlocal game.
