Using the relativistic quantum Hamilton-Jacobi equation within the framework of the equivalence postulate, and grounding one self on both relativistic and quantum Lagrangians, we construct a Lagrangian of relativistic quantum system in one dimension and derive a third order equation of motion representing a first integral of the relativistic quantum Newton's law. Then, we investigate the free particle case and establish the photon's trajectories.
This paper is devoted to the analysis of massive particle in general and Newton-Cartan Background in de Broglie-Bohm Theory. We find classical and quantum version of Hamilton-Jacobi equations and find their relations to wave equations. We also discuss fundamental difference between classical and quantum description of these two systems.
A relativistic version of the Schr{ö}dinger-Newton equation is analyzed within the recently proposed Grave de Peralta approach [L. Grave de Peralta, {\em Results Phys.} {\bf 18} (2020) 103318], which include relativistic effects by a parametrization of the non-relativistic hamiltonian, so as to impose that the average kinetic energy of the system coincide with its relativistic kinetic energy. The reliability of this method is tested for the particle in a box. By applying this method to the Schr{ö}dinger-Newton equation we shows that the characteristic length of the model [L. Di{ó}si, {\em Phys…
Bohmian mechanics is a nonlocal hidden-variable interpretation of quantum theory which predicts that particles follow deterministic trajectories in spacetime. Historically, the study of Bohmian trajectories has mainly been restricted to nonrelativistic regimes due to the widely held belief that the theory is incompatible with special relativity. Here we derive expressions for the relativistic velocity and spacetime trajectories of photons in a Michelson-Sagnac-type interferometer. The trajectories satisfy quantum-mechanical continuity and the relativistic velocity addition rule. Our new veloci…
Bohmian mechanics, widely known within the field of the quantum foundations, has been a quite useful resource for computational and interpretive purposes in a wide variety of practical problems. Here, it is used to establish a comparative analysis at different levels of approximation in the problem of the diffraction of helium atoms from a substrate consisting of a defect with axial symmetry on top of a flat surface. The motivation behind this work is to determine which aspects of one level survive in the next level of refinement and, therefore, to get a better idea of what we usually denote a…
The Schrödinger-Newton model describes self-gravitating quantum particles, and it is often cited to explain the gravitational collapse of the wave function and the localization of macroscopic objects. However, this model is completely nonrelativistic. Thus, in order to study whether the relativistic effects may spoil the properties of this system, we derive a modification of the Schrödinger-Newton equation by considering certain relativistic corrections up to the first post-Newtonian order. The construction of the model begins by considering the Hamiltonian of a relativistic particle propagati…

We study quantum friction and Casimir forces with a full-relativistic formalism for atoms modelled as Unruh-DeWitt detectors in the presence of arbitrary macroscopic objects. We consider the general case of atoms with arbitrary relativistic trajectories in arbitrary quantum states (including coherent superpositions) close to objects that impose arbitrary boundary conditions. Particularizing for conducting plates, we show that, for relative velocities close to the speed of light, the quantum friction diverges while the Casimir force is almost independent of the velocity. Since we include the ef…
