Coherent States and Geometric Phases in Calogero-Sutherland Model

Exact coherent states in the Calogero-Sutherland models (of time-dependent parameters) which describe identical harmonic oscillators interacting through inverse-square potentials are constructed, in terms of the classical solutions of a harmonic oscillator. For quasi-periodic coherent states of the time-periodic systems, geometric phases are evaluated. For the $A_{N-1}$ Calogero-Sutherland model, the phase is calculated for a general coherent state. The phases for other models are also considered.

Shape Invariance in the Calogero and Calogero-Sutherland Models

We show that the Calogero and Calogero-Sutherland models possess an N-body generalization of shape invariance. We obtain the operator representation that gives rise to this result, and discuss the implications of this result, including the possibility of solving these models using algebraic methods based on this shape invariance. Our representation gives us a natural way to construct supersymmetric generalizations of these models, which are interesting both in their own right and for the insights they offer in connection with the exact solubility of these models.

Supersymmetry, Shape Invariance and Solvability of $A_{N-1}$ and $BC_{N}$ Calogero-Sutherland Model

Using the ideas of supersymmetry and shape invariance we re-derive the spectrum of the $A_{N-1}$ and $BC_N$ Calogero-Sutherland model. We briefly discuss as to how to obtain the corresponding eigenfunctions. We also discuss the difficulties involved in extending this approach to the trigonometric models.

Multiple algebraisations of an elliptic Calogero-Sutherland model

Recently, Gomez-Ullate et al. (1) have studied a particular N-particle quantum problem with an elliptic function potential supplemented by an external field. They have shown that the Hamiltonian operator preserves a finite dimensional space of functions and as such is quasi exactly solvable (QES). In this paper we show that other types of invariant function spaces exist, which are in close relation to the algebraic properties of the elliptic functions. Accordingly, series of new algebraic eigenfunctions can be constructed.

Mapping of the $B_N$-type Calogero-Sutherland-Moser system to decoupled Harmonic Oscillators

The $B_N$-type Calogero-Sutherland-Moser system in one-dimension is shown to be equivalent to a set of decoupled oscillators by a similarity transformation. This result is used to show the connection of the $A_N$ and $B_N$ type models and explain the degeneracy structure of the later. We identify the commuting constants of motion and the generators of a linear $W_\infty$ algebra associated with the $B_N$ system.

Duality and quasiparticles in the Calogero-Sutherland model: Some exact results

The quantum-mechanical many-body system with the potential proportional to the pairwise inverse-square distance possesses a strong-weak coupling duality. Based on this duality, particle and/or quasiparticle states are described as SU(1,1) coherent states. The constructed quasiparticle states are of hierarchical nature.

Exact Solutions of Generalized Calogero-Sutherland Models -- BC_N and C_N cases

Using a collective field method, we obtain explicit solutions of the generalized Calogero-Sutherland models that are characterized by the roots of the classical groups $B_N$ and $C_N$. Starting from the explicit wave functions for $A_{N-1}$ type expressed in terms of the singular vectors of the $W_N$ algebra, we give a systematic method to construct wave functions and derive energy eigenvalues for other types of theories.

Two-particle Wigner functions in a one-dimensional Calogero-Sutherland potential

We calculate the Wigner distribution function for the Calogero-Sutherland system which consists of harmonic and inverse-square interactions. The Wigner distribution function is separated out into two parts corresponding to the relative and center-of-mass motions. A general expression for the relative Wigner function is obtained in terms of the Laguerre polynomials by introducing a new identity between Hermite and Laguerre polynomials.

Rationally extended many-body truncated Calogero-Sutherland model

We construct a rational extension of the truncated Calogero-Sutherland model by Pittman et al. The exact solution of this rationally extended model is obtained analytically and it is shown that while the energy eigenvalues remain unchanged, however the eigenfunctions are completely different and written in terms of exceptional X1 Laguerre orthogonal polynomials. Entanglement Entropy in the Calogero-Sutherland Model

We investigate the entanglement entropy between two subsets of particles in the ground state of the Calogero-Sutherland model. By using the duality relations of the Jack symmetric polynomials, we obtain exact expressions for both the reduced density matrix and the entanglement entropy in the limit of an infinite number of particles traced out. From these results, we obtain an upper bound value of the entanglement entropy. This upper bound has a clear interpretation in terms of fractional exclusion statistics.

Quantum & Classical Eigenfunctions in Calogero & Sutherland Systems

An interesting observation was reported by Corrigan-Sasaki that all the frequencies of small oscillations around equilibrium are " quantised" for Calogero and Sutherland (C-S) systems, typical integrable multi-particle dynamics. We present an analytic proof by applying recent results of Loris-Sasaki. Explicit forms of `classical' and quantum eigenfunctions are presented for C-S systems based on any root systems.

Exponential and Laguerre Squeezed States for su(1,1) Algebra and Calogero-Sutherland Model

A class of squeezed states for the su(1,1) algebra is found and expressed by the exponential and Laguerre-polynomial operators acting on the vacuum states. Supersymmetric quantum mechanical model of Calogero-Sutherlend singular oscillator is constructed. Supercoherent states are defined with the help of supergroup displacement operator. Super-Calogero-Moser-Sutherland systems and free super-oscillators : a mapping

We show that the supersymmetric rational Calogero-Moser-Sutherland (CMS) model of A_{N+1}-type is equivalent to a set of free super-oscillators, through a similarity transformation. We prescribe methods to construct the complete eigen-spectrum and the associated eigen-functions, both in supersymmetry preserving as well as supersymmetry breaking phases, from the free super-oscillator basis. N Fermion Ground State of Calogero-Sutherland Type Models in Two and Higher Dimensions

I obtain the exact ground state of $N$-fermions in $D$-dimensions $(D \geq 2)$ in case the $N$ particles are interacting via long-ranged two-body and three-body interactions and further they are also interacting via the harmonic oscillator potential. I also obtain the $N$-fermion ground state in case the oscillator potential is replaced by an $N$-body Coulomb-like interaction.

Truncated Calogero-Sutherland Models on a Circle

We investigate a quantum many-body system with particles moving on a circle and subject to two-body and three-body potentials. In this new class of models, that extrapolates from the celebrated Calogero-Sutherland model and a system with interactions among nearest and next-to-nearest neighbors, the interactions can be tuned as a function of range. We determine the exact ground state energy and wavefunction and obtain a part of the excitation spectrum.

Free harmonic oscillators, Jack polynomials and Calogero-Sutherland systems

The algebraic structure and the relationships between the eigenspaces of the Calogero-Sutherland model (CSM) and the Sutherland model (SM) on a circle are investigated through the Cherednik operators. Truncated Calogero-Sutherland models

A one-dimensional quantum many-body system consisting of particles confined in a harmonic potential and subject to finite-range two-body and three-body inverse-square interactions is introduced. The range of the interactions is set by truncation beyond a number of neighbors and can be tuned to interpolate between the Calogero-Sutherland model and a system with nearest and next-nearest neighbors interactions discussed by Jain and Khare.
