Conceptual Design for a Polarized Proton-Antiproton Collider Facility at Gsi

Two possible options of polarized proton-antiproton collider at the future HESR storage ring are considered. It is shown that the modifications of the present HESR project which are needed to arrange for the polarized proton-antiproton collisions are relatively moderate. An achievable luminosity of 5x10^31 cm^-2 sec^-1 will provide a possibility to carry out experiments in the CM energy range 10-30 GeV, a particularly interesting option for Drell-Yan physics.

Low-energy antiproton physics and the FLAIR facility

FLAIR, the Facility for Low-energy Antiproton and Ion Research has been proposed in 2004 as an extension of the planned FAIR facility at Darmstadt, Germany. FLAIR was not included into the Modularized Start Version of FAIR, but the recent installation of the CRYRING storage ring at GSI Darmstadt has opened new perspectives for physics with low-energy antiprotons at FAIR.

The polarized proton and antiproton beam project at U-70 accelerator

The design and parameters of the polarized-beam facility at U-70 proton synchrotron of NRC Kurchatov Institute - IHEP are presented. The new beamline 24A will provide the polarized proton and antiproton beams for carrying out the rich physics program of the SPASCHARM experiment for comprehensive studies of spin phenomena in a wide spectrum of hadronic reactions in the energy range of 10-45 GeV.

Design of the 7 MeV/u, 217 MHz Injector Linac for the Proposed Ion Beam Facility for Cancer Therapy at the Clinic in Heidelberg

A dedicated clinical synchrotron facility for cancer therapy using energetic proton and ion beams (C, He and O) has been designed at GSI for the Radiologische Universitaetsklinik at Heidelberg, Germany. The design of the injector linac is presented. Suitable ion sources are discussed and results of ion source test measurements are reported. The LEBT allows for switching between two ion sources. Scaled Prototype of a Tantalum Target Embedded in Expanded Graphite for Antiproton Production: Design, Manufacturing and Testing under Proton Beam Impacts

This study presents a further step within the ongoing R&D activities for the redesign of the CERN's Antiproton Decelerator Production Target (AD-Target). Rotating Band Pion Production Targets for Muon Colliders and Neutrino Factories

An update is presented on a conceptual design for a pion production target station using a rotating cupronickel band and that was originally proposed for use at a muon collider facility with a 4 MW pulsed proton beam.
