The combinatorial R matrices are obtained for a family {B_l} of crystals for U'_q(C^{(1)}_n) and U'_q(A^{(2)}_{2n-1}), where B_l is the crystal of the irreducible module corresponding to the one-row Young diagram of length l. The isomorphism B_l\otimes B_k \simeq B_k \otimes B_l and the energy function are described explicitly in terms of a C_n-analogue of the Robinson-Schensted-Knuth type insertion algorithm. As an application a C^{(1)}_n-analogue of the Kostka polynomials is calculated for several cases.
This is an exposition of the results on Geometric crystals and the associated Kashiwara crystal bases (presented by the first author in RIMS, August 2004)
For coherent families of crystals of affine Lie algebras of type B^{(1)}_n, D^{(1)}_n, A^{(2)}_{2n} and D^{(2)}_{n+1} we describe the combinatorial R matrix using column insertion algorithms for B,C,D Young tableaux.
Kashiwara and Saito have defined a crystal structure on the set of irreducible components of Lusztig's quiver varieties. This gives a geometric realization of the crystal graph of the lower half of the quantum group associated to a simply-laced Kac-Moody algebra. Using an enumeration of the irreducible components of Lusztig's quiver varieties in finite and affine type A by combinatorial data, we compute the geometrically defined crystal structure in terms of this combinatorics. We conclude by comparing the combinatorial realization of the crystal graph thus obtained with other combinatorial mo…
We calculate the image of the combinatorial R-matrix for any classical highest weight element in the tensor product of Kirillov--Reshetikhin crystals $B^{r,k}\otimes B^{1,l}$ of type $D^{(1)}_n, B^{(1)}_n, A^{(2)}_{2n-1}$. The notion of $\pm$-diagrams is effectively used for the identification of classical highest weight elements in $B^{1,l}\otimes B^{r,k}$.
For irreducible integrable highest weight modules of the finite and affine Lie algebras of type A and D, we define an isomorphism between the geometric realization of the crystal graphs in terms of irreducible components of Nakajima quiver varieties and the combinatorial realizations in terms of Young tableaux and Young walls. For affine type A, we extend the Young wall construction to arbitrary level, describing a combinatorial realization of the crystals in terms of new objects which we call Young pyramids.
Consider Kashiwara's crystal associated to a highest weight representation of a symmetric Kac-Moody algebra. There is a geometric realization of this object using Nakajima's quiver varieties, but in many particular cases it can also be realized by elementary combinatorial methods. Here we propose a framework for extracting combinatorial realizations from the geometric picture: We construct certain torus actions on the quiver varieties and use Morse theory to index the irreducible components by connected components of the subvariety of torus fixed points. We then discuss the case of affine sl(n…
We provide the explicit combinatorial structure of the Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals B^{r,s} of type D_n(1), B_n(1), and A_{2n-1}(2). This is achieved by constructing the crystal analogue sigma of the automorphism of the D_n(1) (resp. B_n(1) or A_{2n-1}(2)) Dynkin diagram that interchanges the 0 and 1 node. The involution sigma is defined in terms of new plus-minus diagrams that govern the D_n to D_{n-1} (resp. B_n to B_{n-1}, or C_n to C_{n-1}) branching. It is also shown that the crystal B^{r,s} is perfect. These crystals have been implemented in MuPAD-Combinat; the implementation is discuss…
An $n\times n$ matrix $M=[m_{ij}]$ with $m_{ij}\in U_n=\{1,2,\ldots,n\}$ will be called a cycle matrix if $(U_n,\cdot)$ is a cycle set, where $i\cdot j=m_{ij}$. We study these matrices in this article. Using these matrices, we give some recipes to construct solutions, which include the multipermutation level $2$ solutions. As an application of these, we construct a multi-permutation solution of level $r$ for all $r\geq 1$. Our method gives alternate proof that the class of permutation groups of solutions contains all finite abelian groups.
We study the polytope model for the affine type $A$ Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals and prove that the action of the affine Kashiwara operators can be described in a remarkable simple way. Moreover, we investigate the combinatorial $R$-matrix on a tensor product of polytopes and characterize the map explicitly on the highest weight elements. We further give a formula for the local energy function and provide an alternative proof for the perfectness. We determine for any dominant highest weight element $Λ$ of level $\ell$ the elements $b_Λ, b^Λ$ involved in the definition of perfect crystals and …
We define three combinatorial models for \hat{sl(n)} crystals, parametrized by partitions, configurations of beads on an `abacus', and cylindric plane partitions, respectively. These are reducible, but we can identify an irreducible subcrystal corresponding to any dominant integral highest weight. Cylindric plane partitions actually parametrize a basis for the tensor product of an irreducible representation with the space spanned by all partitions. We use this to calculate the partition function for a system of random cylindric plane partitions. We also observe a form of rank level duality. Fi…
Solvable vertex models in statistical mechanics give rise to soliton cellular automata at q=0 in a ferromagnetic regime. By means of the crystal base theory we study a class of such automata associated with non-exceptional quantum affine algebras U'_q(\hat{\geh}_n). Let B_l be the crystal of the U'_q(\hat{\geh}_n)-module corresponding to the l-fold symmetric fusion of the vector representation. For any crystal of the form B = B_{l_1} \otimes ... \otimes B_{l_N}, we prove that the combinatorial R matrix B_M \otimes B \xrightarrow{\sim} B \otimes B_M is factorized into a product of Weyl group op…
Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals are colored directed graphs encoding the structure of certain finite-dimensional representations of affine Lie algebras. A tensor products of column shape Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals has recently been realized in a uniform way, for all untwisted affine types, in terms of the quantum alcove model. We enhance this model by using it to give a uniform realization of the combinatorial $R$-matrix, i.e., the unique affine crystal isomorphism permuting factors in a tensor product of KR crystals. In other words, we are generalizing to all Lie types Schützenberger's slidi…
The Mullineux map is a combinatorial function on partitions which describes the effect of tensoring a simple module for the symmetric group in characteristic $p$ with the one-dimensional sign representation. It can also be interpreted as an isomorphism between crystal graphs for $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_p$. We give a new combinatorial description of the Mullineux map by expressing this crystal isomorphism as a composition of isomorphisms between different crystals. These isomorphisms are defined in terms of new generalised regularisation maps introduced by Millan Berdasco. We then given two ap…
We reformulate the Kerov-Kirillov-Reshetikhin (KKR) map in the combinatorial Bethe ansatz from paths to rigged configurations by introducing local energy distribution in crystal base theory. Combined with an earlier result on the inverse map, it completes the crystal interpretation of the KKR bijection for U_q(\hat{sl}_2). As an application, we solve an integrable cellular automaton, a higher spin generalization of the periodic box-ball system, by an inverse scattering method and obtain the solution of the initial value problem in terms of the ultradiscrete Riemann theta function.
In this paper, we give an explicit combinatorial realization of the crystal B(λ) for an irreducible highest weight U_q(q(n))-module V(λ) in terms of semistandard decomposition tableaux. We present an insertion scheme for semistandard decomposition tableaux and give algorithms of decomposing the tensor product of q(n)-crystals. Consequently, we obtain explicit combinatorial descriptions of the shifted Littlewood-Richardson coefficients.
Given a finite set of roots of unity, we show that all power sums are non-negative integers iff the set forms a group under multiplication. The main argument is purely combinatorial and states that for an arbitrary finite set system the non-negativity of certain alternating sums is equivalent to the set system being a filter. As an application we determine all discrete Fourier pairs of $\{0,1\}$-matrices. This technical result is an essential step in the classification of $R$-matrices of quantum groups.
We calculate the combinatorial $R$ matrix for all elements of $\mathcal{B}_l\otimes \mathcal{B}_1$ where $\mathcal{B}_l$ denotes the $G_2^{(1)}$-perfect crystal of level $l$, and then study the soliton cellular automaton constructed from it. The solitons of length $l$ are identified with elements of the $A_1^{(1)}$-crystal $\tilde{\mathcal{B}}_{3l}$. The scattering rule for our soliton cellular automaton is identified with the combinatorial $R$ matrix for $A_1^{(1)}$-crystals.
We present an explicit combinatorial realization of the commutor in the category of crystals which was first studied by Henriques and Kamnitzer. Our realization is based on certain local moves defined by van Leeuwen.
The Kerov-Kirillov-Reshetikhin (KKR) bijection is the crux in proving fermionic formulas. It is defined by a combinatorial algorithm on rigged configurations and highest paths. We reformulate the KKR bijection as a vertex operator by purely using combinatorial R in crystal base theory. The result is viewed as a nested Bethe ansatz at q=0 as well as the direct and the inverse scattering (Gel'fand-Levitan) map in the associated soliton cellular automaton.
Polyhedral realizations for crystal bases of integrable highest weight modules and combinatorial objects of type ${\rm A}^{(1)}_{n-1}$, ${\rm C}^{(1)}_{n-1}$, ${\rm A}^{(2)}_{2n-2}$, ${\rm D}^{(2)}_{n}$
A solvable vertex model in ferromagnetic regime gives rise to a soliton cellular automaton which is a discrete dynamical system in which site variables take on values in a finite set. We study the scattering of a class of soliton cellular automata associated with the $U_q(D_n^{(1)})$-perfect crystal $B^{2,s}$. We calculate the combinatorial $R$ matrix for all elements of $B^{2,s} \otimes B^{2,1}$. In particular, we show that the scattering rule for our soliton cellular automaton can be identified with the combinatorial $R$ matrix for $U_q(A_1^{(1)}) \oplus U_q(D_{n-2}^{(1)})$-crystals.
In proving the Fermionic formulae, combinatorial bijection called the Kerov--Kirillov--Reshetikhin (KKR) bijection plays the central role. It is a bijection between the set of highest paths and the set of rigged configurations. In this paper, we give a proof of crystal theoretic reformulation of the KKR bijection. It is the main claim of Part I (math.QA/0601630) written by A. Kuniba, M. Okado, T. Takagi, Y. Yamada, and the author. The proof is given by introducing a structure of affine combinatorial $R$ matrices on rigged configurations.
