Let $G$ be a group, $F$ a field, and $A$ a finite-dimensional central simple algebra over $F$ on which $G$ acts by $F$-algebra automorphisms. We study the ideals and subalgebras of $A$ which are preserved by the group action. Let $V$ be the unique simple module of $A$. We show that $V$ is a projective representation of $G$ and $A\cong\text{End}_D(V)$ makes $V$ into a projective representation. We then prove that there is a natural one-to-one correspondence between $G$-invariant $D$-submodules of $V$ and invariant left (and right) ideals of $A$.
Under the assumption that $V$ is irreducible, we show that an invariant (unital) subalgebra must be a simply embedded semisimple subalgebra. We introduce induction of $G$-algebras. We show that each invariant subalgebras is induced from a simple $H$-algebra for some subgroup $H$ of finite index and obtain a parametrization of the set of invariant subalgebras in terms of induction data. We then describe invariant central simple subalgebras. For $F$ algebraically closed, we obtain an entirely explicit classification of the invariant subalgebras. Furthermore, we show that the set of invariant subalgebras is finite if $G$ is a finite group. Finally, we consider invariant subalgebras when $V$ is a continuous projective representation of a topological group $G$. We show that if the connected component of the identity acts irreducibly on $V$, then all invariant subalgebras are simple. We then apply our results to obtain a particularly nice solution to the classification problem when $G$ is a compact connected Lie group and $F=\mathbf C$.
In this thesis we discuss some properties of centralisers in classical Lie algebas and related structures. Our results follow three distinct but related themes: the modular representation theory of centralisers, the sheets of simple Lie algebras and the representation theory of finite W-algebras and enveloping algebras.
We explore when generator-conjugate homomorphisms are conjugate and when element-conjugate homomorphisms are conjugate from abelian or dihedral groups to the symmetric group. We completely determine when such homomorphisms are conjugate in the case where the source group has two generators by studying centralizer actions in the target group.
We construct an action of a braid group associated to a complete graph on the derived category of a certain symmetric Nakayama algebra which is also a Brauer star algebra with no exceptional vertex. We connect this action with the affine braid group action on Brauer star algebras defined by Schaps and Zakay-Illouz. We show that for Brauer star algebras with no exceptional vertex, the action is faithful.
The goal of this paper is to explicitly describe in terms of generators and relations the universal central extension of the infinite dimensional Lie algebra, $\mathfrak{g} \otimes \mathbb{C}[t,t^{-1},u]$ with finite dimensional simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ and $u^m=p(t)$.
Three kinds of universal central extension are considered for a perfect Lie algebra. More precisely, one can consider such a Lie algebra as a Lie triple system, or a Leibniz algebra and construct appropriate central extensions. We show that Lie triple system universal central extension is isomorphic either to Lie or Leibniz algebra universal central extension considered as a Lie triple system in appropriate way.
In our recent papers the centralizer construction was applied to the series of classical Lie algebras to produce the quantum algebras called (twisted) Yangians. Here we extend this construction to the series of the symmetric groups S(n). We study the `stable' properties of the centralizers of S(n-m) in the group algebra C[S(n)] as n increases with m fixed. We construct a limit centralizer algebra A and describe its algebraic structure. The algebra A turns out to be closely related with the degenerate affine Hecke algebras. We also show that the so-called tame representations of the infinite sy…
We obtain a recurrent and monotone method for constructing and classifying nilpotent Lie algebras by means of successive central extensions. It consists in calculating the second cohomology of an extendable nilpotent Lie algebra with the subsequent study of the orbit space geometry of the automorphism group action on Grassmannians defined in terms of the second cohomology of the extendable nilpotent Lie algebra. Such a geometric method allows to classify some classes of nilpotent Lie algebras. The concept of a rigid central extension is introduced.
In this paper we study universal central extensions and non-abelian tensor product of hom-Lie-Rinehart algebras. We discuss about universal $α$- central extensions, and, lifting of automorphisms and $α$-derivations to central extensions for hom-Lie-Rinehart algebras. This is in turn provide such lifting of automorphisms and $α^k$-derivations to the central extensions for hom-Lie algebras.
The centralizer algebra of the action of the unitary group on the real tensor powers of its natural module, is described by means of a modification in the multiplication of the signed Brauer algebras. The relationships of this algebra with the invariants for U(n), and with the decomposition of the above tensor powers into irreducible modules, is considered.
We provide a method for constructing central idempotents in the Brauer algebra relating to the splitting of certain short exact sequences. We also determine some of the primitive central idempotents, and relate properties of the idempotents to known facts about the representation theory of the algebra.
The Hopf actions on vertex operator algebras are investigated. If the action is semisimple, a Schur-Weyl type decomposition is obtained. When the Hopf algebra is finite dimensional and the action is faithful, the action is a group action. Moreover if the Hopf algebra is finite dimensional and the action is semisimple and inner faithful, the action is also a group action. In this case, inner faithfulness is equivalent to faithfulness.
In this paper, we describe restricted one-dimensional central extensions of all finite dimensional simple restricted Lie algebras defined over fields of characteristic $p\ge 5$.
Let $A$ be a finite dimensional algebra having the double centraliser property with respect to a minimal faithful projective-injective left module $Af$ for some idempotent $f$. We prove that in this case $A$ is a monomial algebra if and only if $A$ is a Nakayama algebra given by quiver and relations.
We describe how the center of the universal central extension of the genus zero Krichever-Novikov current algebra decomposes as a direct sum of irreducible modules for automorphism group of the coordinate ring of this algebra.
Two actions of the Hecke algebra of type A on the corresponding polynomial ring are studied. Both are deformations of the natural action of the symmetric group on polynomials, and keep symmetric functions invariant. We give an explicit description of these actions, and deduce a combinatorial formula for the resulting graded characters on the coinvariant algebra.
In this paper we give an explicit description of primitive central idempotents of rational group algebras of finite abelian groups using long presentation, and determine their Wedderburn decompositions.
In this paper the algebra of invariants for the adjoint action of the unitriangular group in the nilradical of a parabolic subalgebra is studied. We prove that the algebra of invariants is finitely generated.
We study the relationship between the central ideals and the Jacobson radicals of blocks of group algebras. In particular, we characterize the blocks with the property that the square of the radical is a non-zero central ideal. Moreover, we also consider the blocks with the property that the cube of the radical becomes a non-zero central ideal.
Based on the realization of quantum Borcherds-Bozec algebra $\widetilde{\mathbf{U}}$ and quantum generalized Kac-Moody algebra ${}^B\widetilde{\mathbf{U}}$ via semi-derived Ringel-Hall algebra of a quiver with loops, we deduce the braid group actions of $\widetilde{\mathbf{U}}$ introduced by Fan and Tong recently and establish braid group actions for ${}^B\widetilde{\mathbf{U}}$ by applying the BGP reflection functors to semi-derived Ringel-Hall algebras.
In this paper, we study the index for several natural classes of non-reductive subalgebras of semisimple Lie algebras. Namely, we look at parabolic subalgebras, centralisers of nilpotent elements, and the normalisers of the centralisers. We discuss a conjecture of Elashvili to the effect that the index of any centraliser is equal to the rank of the semisimple algebra in question. It is shown that Elashvili's conjecture is true for `small' and `large' orbits. Some properties of the index for the normaliser of the centraliser are proved. In particular, we prove that, for a regular nilpotent elem…
We study the plactic algebra and its action on bosonic particle configurations in the classical case. These particle configurations together with the action of the plactic generators can be identified with crystals of the quantum analogue of the symmetric tensor representations in type A. It turns out that this action factors over a quotient algebra that we call partic algebra, whose induced action on bosonic particle configurations is faithful. We describe a basis of the partic algebra explicitly in terms of a normal form for monomials, and we compute the center of the partic algebra.
The rational and C_2-cofinite simple vertex operator algebras whose effective central charges and the central charges c are equal and less than 1 are classified. Such a vertex operator algebra is zero if c<0 and C if c=0. If c>0, it is an extension of discrete Virasoro vertex operator algebra L(c_{p,q},0) by its irreducible modules. It is also proved that for any rational and C_2-cofinite simple vertex operator algebra whose effective central charge and central charge are equal, the vertex operator subalgebra generated by the Virasoro vector is simple.
We introduce the idea of a geometric categorical Lie algebra action on derived categories of coherent sheaves. The main result is that such an action induces an action of the braid group associated to the Lie algebra. The same proof shows that strong categorical actions in the sense of Khovanov-Lauda and Rouquier also lead to braid group actions. As an example, we construct a braid group action on derived categories of coherent sheaves on cotangent bundles to partial flag varieties.
In this work the notions of partial action of a weak Hopf algebra on a coalgebra and partial action of a groupoid on a coalgebra will be introduced, just as some important properties. An equivalence between these notions will be presented. Finally, a dual relation between the structures of partial action on a coalgebra and partial action on an algebra will be established, as well as a globalization theorem for partial module coalgebras will be presented.
