On local automorphisms of group algebras of compact groups

Unbounded derivations and -automorphisms groups of Banach quasi -algebras

This paper is devoted to the study of unbounded derivations on Banach quasi *-algebras with a particular emphasis to the case when they are infinitesimal generators of one parameter automorphisms groups. Both of them, derivations and automorphisms are considered in a weak sense; i.e., with the use of a certain families of bounded sesquilinear forms. Conditions for a weak *-derivation to be the generator of a *-automorphisms group are given.

Algebras of unbounded operators over the ring of measurable functions and their derivations and automorphisms

In the present paper derivations and *-automorphisms of algebras of unbounded operators over the ring of measurable functions are investigated and it is shown that all L^0-linear derivations and L^{0}-linear *-automorphisms are inner. Moreover, it is proved that each L^0-linear automorphism of the algebra of all linear operators on a bo-dense submodule of a Kaplansky-Hilbert module over the ring of measurable functions is spatial.

Automorphisms of the UHF algebra that do not extend to the Cuntz algebra

Automorphisms of the canonical core UHF-subalgebra F_n of the Cuntz algebra O_n do not necessarily extend to automorphisms of O_n. Simple examples are discussed within the family of infinite tensor products of (inner) automorphisms of the matrix algebras M_n. In that case, necessary and sufficient conditions for the extension property are presented. On order automorphisms of the effect algebra

We give short proofs of two Šemrl's descriptions of order automorphisms of the effect algebra. This sheds new light on both formulas that look quite complicated. Our proofs rely on Molnár's characterization of order automorphisms of the cone of all positive operators.

Local automorphisms on finite-dimensional Lie and Leibniz algebras

We prove that a linear mapping on the algebra $\mathfrak{sl}_n$ of all trace zero complex matrices is a local automorphism if and only if it is an automorphism or an anti-automorphism. We also show that a linear mapping on a simple Leibniz algebra of the form $\mathfrak{sl}_n\dot +\mathcal{I}$ is a local automorphism if and only if it is an automorphism. We give examples of finite-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras $\mathcal{L}$ with $\dim \mathcal{L} \geq 3$ which admit local automorphisms which are not automorphisms.

Automorphisms in spaces of continuous functions on Valdivia compacta

We show that there are no automorphic Banach spaces of the form C(K) with K continuous image of Valdivia compact except the spaces c0(I). Nevertheless, when K is an Eberlein compact of finite height such that C(K) is not isomorphic to c0(I), all isomorphism between subspaces of C(K) of size less than aleph_omega extend to automorphisms of C(K).
