Starting from an arbitrary cluster-tilting object $T$ in a 2-Calabi--Yau category over an algebraically closed field, as in the setting of Keller and Reiten, we define, for each object $L$, a fraction $X(T,L)$ using a formula proposed by Caldero and Keller. We show that the map taking $L$ to $X(T,L)$ is a cluster character, i.e. that it satisfies a certain multiplication formula. We deduce that it induces a bijection, in the finite and the acyclic case, between the indecomposable rigid objects of the cluster category and the cluster variables, which confirms a conjecture of Caldero and Keller.
For a Calabi-Yau triangulated category $\mathcal{C}$ of Calabi-Yau dimension $d$ with a $d-$cluster tilting subcategory $\mathcal{T}$, it is proved that the decomposition of $\mathcal{C}$ is determined by the special decomposition of $\mathcal{T}$, namely, $\mathcal{C}=\oplus_{i\in I}\mathcal{C}_i$, where $\mathcal{C}_i, i\in I$ are triangulated subcategories, if and only if $\mathcal{T}=\oplus_{i\in I}\mathcal{T}_i,$ where $\mathcal{T}_i, i\in I$ are subcategories with $Hom_{\mathcal{C}}(\mathcal{T}_i[t],\mathcal{T}_j)=0, \forall 1\leq t\leq d-2$ and $i\not= j.$ This induces that the Gabriel …
We show that a tilting module over the endomorphism algebra of a cluster-tilting object in a 2-Calabi-Yau triangulated category lifts to a cluster-tilting object in this 2-Calabi-Yau triangulated category. This generalizes a recent work of D. Smith for cluster categories.
This short note surveys the constructions of 3-Calabi--Yau triangulated categories with simple-minded collections due to Ginzburg and Kontsevich--Soibelman and the constructions of 2-Calabi--Yau triangulated categories with cluster-tilting objects due to Buan--Marsh--Reineke--Reiten--Todorov and Amiot, and includes a discussion on the normal form of 2-Calabi--Yau triangulated categories with cluster-tilting objects.
We compute the Grothendieck group of certain 2-Calabi--Yau triangulated categories appearing naturally in the study of the link between quiver representations and Fomin--Zelevinsky's cluster algebras. In this setup, we also prove a generalization of Fomin--Zelevinsky's mutation rule.
We study the maximal rigid subcategories in $2-$CY triangulated categories and their endomorphism algebras. Cluster tilting subcategories are obviously maximal rigid; we prove that the converse is true if the $2-$CY triangulated categories admit a cluster tilting subcategory. As a generalization of a result of [KR], we prove that any maximal rigid subcategory is Gorenstein with Gorenstein dimension at most 1. Similar as cluster tilting subcategory, one can mutate maximal rigid subcategories at any indecomposable object. If two maximal rigid objects are reachable via mutations, then their endom…
We develop the basic properties of $w$-simple-minded systems in $(-w)$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories for $w \geq 1$. The main result is a reduction technique for negative Calabi-Yau triangulated categories. We show that the theory of simple-minded systems exhibits striking parallels with that of cluster-tilting objects. Our construction provides an inductive technique for constructing simple-minded systems.
We correct an error and some inaccuracies that occurred in "Deformed Calabi-Yau completions''. The most important point is that, as pointed out by W. K. Yeung, to show that the deformed Calabi-Yau completion has the Calabi-Yau property, one needs to assume that the deformation parameter comes from negative cyclic homology. Notice that this does hold in the case of Ginzburg dg algebras.
We introduce the Calabi-Yau (CY) objects in a Hom-finite Krull-Schmidt triangulated $k$-category, and notice that the structure of the minimal, consequently all the CY objects, can be described. The relation between indecomposable CY objects and Auslander-Reiten triangles is provided. Finally we classify all the CY modules of self-injective Nakayama algebras, determining this way the self-injective Nakayama algebras admitting indecomposable CY modules. In particular, this result recovers the algebras whose stable categories are Calabi-Yau, which have been obtained in [BS].
This paper investigates a non simply-laced version of cluster structures for 2-Calabi-Yau or stably 2-Calabi-Yau categories over arbitrary fields. It results that 2-Calabi-Yau or stably 2-Calabi-Yau categories having a cluster tilting subcategory with neither loops nor 2-cycles do have the generalized version of cluster structure. This is in particular the case of cluster categories over non-algebraically closed fields.
It is shown that the silting reduction $\ct/\thick\cp$ of a triangulated category $\ct$ with respect to a presilting subcategory $\cp$ can be realized as a certain subfactor category of $\ct$, and that there is a one-to-one correspondence between the set of (pre)silting subcategories of $\ct$ containing $\cp$ and the set of (pre)silting subcategories of $\ct/\thick\cp$. This is analogous to a result for Calabi-Yau reduction. This result is applied to show that Amiot-Guo-Keller's construction of $d$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories with $d$-cluster-tilting objects takes silting reduction to C…
We give a complete classification of (co)torsion pairs in finite $2$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories with maximal rigid objects which are not cluster tilting. These finite $2$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories are divided into two main classes: one denoted by $\mathcal{A}_{n,t}$ called of type $A$, and the other denoted by $D_{n,t}$ called of type $D$. By using the geometric model of cluster categories of type $A, $ or type $D$, we give a geometric description of (co)torsion pairs in $\mathcal{A}_{n,t}$ or $D_{n,t}$ respectively, via defining the periodic Ptolemy diagrams. This allows to c…
This is a survey on the project `Decorated Marked Surfaces', where we introduce the decoration $Δ$ on a marked surfaces $\mathbf{S}$, to study Calabi-Yau-2 (cluster) categories, Calabi-Yau-3 (Fukaya) categories, braid groups for quivers with potential, quadratic differentials and stability conditions.
A celebrated result by Keller--Reiten says that $2$-Calabi--Yau tilted algebras are Gorenstein and stably $3$-Calabi--Yau. This note shows that the converse holds in the monomial case: a $1$-Gorenstein monomial algebra with a $3$-Calabi--Yau singularity category is $2$-Calabi--Yau tilted. We study the case of other Goresntein monomial algebras with stably Calabi--Yau singularity categories.
We pursue the order-theoretic approach to ribbon graphs initiated by Kauer and Roggenkamp. We show that any ribbon graph order is twisted $1$-Calabi-Yau in general and $1$-Calabi-Yau if the ribbon graph is bipartite. We derive analogous results for anti-commutative versions of Brauer graph algebras.
Let k be an algebraically closed field and let T be the k-linear algebraic triangulated category generated by a w-spherical object for an integer w. For certain values of w this category is classical. For instance, if w = 0 then it is the compact derived category of the dual numbers over k. As main results of the paper we show that for w \leq 0, the category T has no non-trivial t-structures, but does have one family of non-trivial co-t-structures, whereas for w \geq 1 the opposite statement holds. Moreover, without any claim to originality, we observe that for w \leq -1, the category T is a c…
Within the class of finite dimensional mesh algebras, also called m-fold mesh algebras, we identify those which are symmetric and those whose stable module category is weakly Calabi-Yau. We also give, in combinatorial terms, explicit formulas for the period of any such algebra, and for the Calabi-Yau Frobenius and stable Calabi-Yau dimensions, when they are defined.
We study rooted cluster algebras and rooted cluster morphisms which were introduced in \cite{ADS13} recently and cluster structures in $2$-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories. An example of rooted cluster morphism which is not ideal is given, this clarifies a doubt in \cite{ADS13}. We introduce the notion of frozenization of a seed and show that an injective rooted cluster morphism always arises from a frozenization and a subseed. Moreover, it is a section if and only if it arises from a subseed. This answers the Problem 7.7 in \cite{ADS13}. We prove that an inducible rooted cluster morphism is…
We prove that for $d \geq 2$, an algebraic $d$-Calabi-Yau triangulated category endowed with a $d$-cluster tilting subcategory is the stable category of a DG category which is perfectly $(d+1)$-Calabi-Yau and carries a non degenerate $t$-structure whose heart has enough projectives.
We extend Ng's characterisation of torsion pairs in the 2-Calabi-Yau triangulated category generated by a 2-spherical object to the characterisation of torsion pairs in the w-Calabi-Yau triangulated category, $T_w$, generated by a w-spherical object for any integer w. Inspired by the combinatorics of $T_w$ for w < 0, we also characterise the torsion pairs in a certain w-Calabi-Yau orbit category of the bounded derived category of the path algebra of Dynkin type A.
We introduce relative noncommutative Calabi-Yau structures defined on functors of differential graded categories. Examples arise in various contexts such as topology, algebraic geometry, and representation theory. Our main result is a composition law for Calabi-Yau cospans generalizing the classical composition of cobordisms of oriented manifolds. As an application, we construct Calabi-Yau structures on topological Fukaya categories of framed punctured Riemann surfaces.
We give an equivalent definition of the stable Calabi--Yau dimension in terms of bimodule syzygies and so-called stably inner automorphisms. Using it, we complete the computation of the stable Calabi--Yau dimensions of the self-injective algebras of finite representation type which was started by K. Erdmann, A. Skowroński, J. Bia\lkowski and A. Dugas.
We show that a Calabi-Yau structure of dimension $d$ on a smooth dg category $C$ induces a symplectic form of degree $2-d$ on the moduli space of objects $M_{C}$. We show moreover that a relative Calabi-Yau structure on a dg functor $C \to D$ compatible with the absolute Calabi-Yau structure on $C$ induces a Lagrangian structure on the corresponding map of moduli $M_{D} \to M_{C}$.
We establish a system of formal noncommutative calculus for differential forms and polyvector fields, which forms the foundations for the study of pre-Calabi-Yau categories. Using an explicit trace map, we show that any $n$-Calabi-Yau structure on a non-positively graded dg algebra $A$ induces a $(2-n)$-shifted symplectic structure on its derived moduli stack of representations; while any $n$-pre-Calabi-Yau structure on $A$ induces a $(2-n)$-shifted Poisson structure on this derived moduli stack.
