We obtain a Bahadur representation for sample quantiles of nonlinear functional of Gaussian sequences with correlation function decreasing as $k^{-α}$ for some $α> 0$. This representation is derived under a mimimal assumption.
On the one hand, we investigate the Bahadur representation for sample quantiles under $φ$-mixing sequence with $φ(n)=O(n^{-3})$ and obtain a rate as $O(n^{-\frac{3}{4}}\log n)$, $a.s.$. On the other hand, by relaxing the condition of mixing coefficients to $\sum\nolimits_{n=1}^\inftyφ^{1/2}(n)<\infty$, a rate $O(n^{-1/2}(\log n)^{1/2})$, $a.s.$, is also obtained.
In this paper, the Bahadur representation of sample quantiles based on associated sequences is established under polynomially decaying of covariances. The rate of approximation depends on the covariances decay degree and becomes close to the optimal rate obtained under independence when the covariances decrease fastly to 0.
We establish the Bahadur representation of sample quantiles for stabilizing score functionals in stochastic geometry and study local fluctuations of the corresponding empirical distribution function. The scores are obtained from a Poisson process. We apply the results to trimmed and Winsorized means of the score functionals and establish a law of the iterated logarithm for the sample quantiles of the scores.
We define the quantile set of order $α\in \left[ 1/2,1\right) $ associated to a law $P$ on $\mathbb{R}^{d}$ to be the collection of its directional quantiles seen from an observer $O\in \mathbb{R}^{d}$. Under minimal assumptions these star-shaped sets are closed surfaces, continuous in $(O,α)$ and the collection of empirical quantile surfaces is uniformly consistent.\ Under mild assumptions -- no density or symmetry is required for $P$ -- our uniform central limit theorem reveals the correlations between quantile points and a non asymptotic Gaussian approximation provides joint confident enlar…

"Spatial" or "geometric" quantiles are the only multivariate quantiles coping with both high-dimensional data and functional data, also in the framework of multiple-output quantile regression. This work studies spatial quantiles in the finite-dimensional case, where the spatial quantile $μ_{α,u}(P)$ of the distribution $P$ taking values in $\mathbb{R}^d $ is a point in $\mathbb{R}^d$ indexed by an order $α\in[0,1)$ and a direction $u$ in the unit sphere $\mathcal{S}^{d-1}$ of $\mathbb{R}^d$ --- or equivalently by a vector $αu$ in the open unit ball of $\mathbb{R}^d$. Recently, Girard and Stupf…
The last few years have seen a surge of work on high dimensional statistics under privacy constraints, mostly following two main lines of work: the ``worst case'' line, which does not make any distributional assumptions on the input data; and the ``strong assumptions'' line, which assumes that the data is generated from specific families, e.g., subgaussian distributions. In this work we take a middle ground, obtaining new differentially private algorithms with polynomial sample complexity for estimating quantiles in high-dimensions, as well as estimating and sampling points of high Tukey depth…
