This is the second in a series of papers that develops the theory of reflection monoids, motivated by the theory of reflection groups. Reflection monoids were first introduced in arXiv:0812.2789. Partial symmetry, reflection monoids and Coxeter groups

This is the first of a series of papers in which we initiate and develop the theory of reflection monoids, motivated by the theory of reflection groups. The main results identify a number of important inverse semigroups as reflection monoids, introduce new examples, and determine their orders.

Quiver mutations and Boolean reflection monoids

In 2010, Everitt and Fountain introduced the concept of reflection monoids. The Boolean reflection monoids form a family of reflection monoids (symmetric inverse semigroups are Boolean reflection monoids of type $A$). In this paper, we give a family of presentations of Boolean reflection monoids and show how these presentations are compatible with quiver mutations of orientations of Dynkin diagrams with frozen vertices. On the inverse braid and reflection monoids of type $B$

There are well known relations between braid groups and symmetric groups, between Artin-Briskorn braid groups and Coxeter groups. Inverse braid monoid the same way is related to the inverse symmetric monoid. In the paper we show that similar relations exist between the inverse braid monoid of type $B$ and the inverse reflection monoid of type $B$. This gives a presentation of the last monoid.

Reflection equation as a tool for studying solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation

Given a right-non-degenerate set-theoretic solution $(X,r)$ to the Yang-Baxter equation, we construct a whole family of YBE solutions $r^{(k)}$ on $X$ indexed by its reflections $k$ (i.e., solutions to the reflection equation for $r$). This family includes the original solution and the classical derived solution. All these solutions induce isomorphic actions of the braid group/monoid on $X^n$. The structure monoids of $r$ and $r^{(k)}$ are related by an explicit bijective $1$-cocycle-like map. We thus turn reflections into a tool for studying YBE solutions, rather than a side object of study. …
