When $G$ is abelian and $l$ is a prime we show how elements of the relative K-group $K_{0}({\bf Z}_{l}[G], {\bf Q}_{l})$ give rise to annihilator/Fitting ideal relations of certain associated ${\bf Z}[G]$-modules. Examples of this phenomenon are ubiquitous. Particularly, we give examples in which $G$ is the Galois group of an extension of global fields and the resulting annihilator/Fitting ideal relation is closely connected to Stickelberger's Theorem and to the conjectures Coates-Sinnott and Brumer.
The aim of this paper is to study the group of elliptic units of a cyclic extension $L$ of an imaginary quadratic field $K$ such that the degree $[L:K]$ is a power of an odd prime $p$. We construct an explicit root of the usual top generator of this group and we use it to obtain an annihilation result of the $p$-Sylow subgroup of the ideal class group of $L$.

For any odd prime number $\ell$ and any abelian number field F containing the $\ell$-th roots of unity, we show that the Stickelberger ideal annihilates the imaginary component of the $\ell$-group of logarithmic classes and that its reflection annihilates the real componen of the Bertrandias-Payan module. As a consequence we obtain a very simple proof of annihilation results for the so-called wild {é}tale $\ell$-kernels of F .
Let $G$ be a semiabelian variety defined over a field of characteristic $0$, endowed with an endomorphism $Φ$. We prove there is no proper subvariety $Y\subset G$ which intersects the orbit of each periodic point of $G$ under the action of $Φ$. We propose a candidate, which we call the fractional Galois ideal after Snaith's fractional ideal, for replacing the classical Stickelberger ideal associated to an abelian extension of number fields. Let $L/K$ be a Galois extension of number fields with Galois group $G$. We discuss a new method to obtain elements in $\mathbb{Z}[G]$ which annihilate the class group of $L$. Using this method, we obtain annihilators of class groups of cyclotomic fields. We show that these annihilators are new. Some more consequences are also discussed. Moreover, we mention some results and connections to highlight importance of primes of higher residue degree.
In this article we investigate the distribution of prime ideals of residue degree bigger than one across the ideal classes in the class group of a number field $L$. A criterion for the class group of $L$ being generated by the classes of prime ideals of residue degree $f>1$ is provided. Further, some consequences of this study on the solvability of norm equations for $L/\mathbb{Q}$ and on the problem of finding annihilators for relative extensions are discussed.

We present a set of generators of the full annihilator ideal for the Witt ring of an arbitrary field of characteristic unequal to two satisfying a non-vanishing condition on the powers of the fundamental ideal in the torsion part of the Witt ring.
