New methods for calculating the degree distance and the Gutman index

In the paper we develop new methods for calculating the two well-known topological indices, the degree-distance and the Gutman index. Firstly, we prove that the Wiener index of a double vertex-weighted graph can be computed from the Wiener indices of weighted quotient graphs with respect to a partition of the edge set that is coarser than $Θ^*$-partition. This result immediately gives a method for computing the degree-distance of any graph. Extremal Triangular Chain Graphs for Bond Incident Degree (BID) Indices

A general expression for calculating the bond incident degree (BID) indices of certain triangular chain graphs is derived. The extremal triangular chain graphs with respect to several well known BID indices are also characterized over a particular collection of triangular chain graphs.

A note on topological indices and the twin classes of graphs

Topological indices are parameters associated with graphs that have many applications in different areas such as mathematical chemistry. Among various topological indices, the Wiener index is classical \cite{w}. In this paper, we prove a formula for the Wiener index and more general $m$-Steiner Wiener index of an arbitrary graph $G$ in terms of the cardinalities of its twin classes. Yet another way of calculating moments of the Kesten's distribution and its consequences for Catalan numbers and Catalan triangles

We calculate moments of the so-called Kesten distribution by means of the expansion of the denominator of the density of this distribution and then integrate all summands with respect to the semicircle distribution. By comparing this expression with the formulae for the moments of Kesten's distribution obtained by other means, we find identities involving polynomials whose power coefficients are closely related to Catalan numbers, Catalan triangles, binomial coefficients.
