Forked Temperley-Lieb Algebras and Intermediate Subfactors

We consider noncommuting pairs P,Q of intermediate subfactors of an irreducible, finite-index inclusion N in M of II_1 factors such that P and Q are supertransitive with Jones index less than 4 over N. We show that up to isomorphism of the standard invariant, there is a unique such pair corresponding to each even value [P:N]=4cos^2(pi/2n) but none for the odd values [P:N]=4cos^2 (pi/(2n+1)). We also classify the angle values which occur between pairs of intermediate subfactors with small index over their intersection: if [P:N] < 4, then the unique nontrivial angle value is always cos^-1 (1/([P:N]-1)).

Free transport for finite depth subfactor planar algebras

Graph planar algebra embeddings and infinite depth subfactors

Subfactors of the hyperfinite II$_1$ factor with ''exotic'' properties can be constructed from nondegenerate commuting squares of multi-matrix algebras. The module embedding theorem via towers of algebras

Jones and Penneys showed that a finite depth subfactor planar algebra embeds in the bipartite graph planar algebra of its principal graph, via a Markov towers of algebras approach. We relate several equivalent perspectives on the notion of module over a subfactor planar algebra, and show that a Markov tower is equivalent to a module over the Temperley-Lieb-Jones planar algebra. We give a diagrammatic presentation of the A_2-Temperley-Lieb algebra. Generalizing Jones' notion of a planar algebra, we formulate an A_2-planar algebra motivated by Kuperberg's A_2-spider. Infinite index subfactors and the GICAR categories

Given a II$_1$-subfactor $A\subset B$ of arbitrary index, we show that the rectangular GICAR category, also called the rectangular planar rook category, faithfully embeds as $A-A$ bimodule maps among the bimodules $\bigotimes_A^n L^2(B)$. Jones representations of Thompson's group $F$ arising from Temperley-Lieb-Jones algebras

Following a procedure due to V. Jones, using suitably normalized elements in a Temperley-Lieb-Jones (planar) algebra we introduce a 3-parametric family of unitary representations of the Thompson's group $F$ equipped with canonical (vacuum) vectors and study some of their properties. Hilbert modules over a planar algebra and the Haagerup property

Given a subfactor planar algebra P and a Hilbert P-module of lowest weight 0 we build a bimodule over the symmetric enveloping inclusion associated to P. As an application we prove diagrammatically that the Temperley-Lieb-Jones standard invariants have the Haagerup property. This provides a new proof of a result due to Popa and Vaes.
