Large-time asymptotic properties of solutions to a class of semilinear stochastic wave equations with damping in a bounded domain are considered. First an energy inequality and the exponential bound for a linear stochastic equation are established. Under appropriate conditions, the existence theorem for a unique global solution is given. Next the questions of bounded solutions and the exponential stability of an equilibrium solution, in mean-square and the almost sure sense, are studied. Then, under some sufficient conditions, the existence of a unique invariant measure is proved. Two examples are presented to illustrate some applications of the theorems.
We prove the large deviations principle (LDP) for the law of the solutions to a class of semilinear stochastic partial differential equations driven by multiplicative noise. Our proof is based on the weak convergence approach and significantly improves earlier methods.
In this paper, we establish the existence and uniqueness of invariant measures for a class of semilinear stochastic partial differential equations driven by multiplicative noise on a bounded domain. The main results can be applied to SPDEs of various types such as the stochastic Burgers equation and the reaction-diffusion equations perturbed by space-time white noise.
This paper is devoted to studying abstract stochastic semilinear evolution equations with additive noise in Hilbert spaces. First, we prove the existence of unique local mild solutions and show their regularity. Second, we show the regular dependence of the solutions on initial data. Finally, some applications to stochastic partial differential equations are presented.
In this paper, we establish a central limit theorem (CLT) and the moderate deviation principles (MDP) for a class of semilinear stochastic partial differential equations driven by multiplicative noise on a bounded domain. The main results can be applied to stochastic partial differential equations of various types such as the stochastic Burgers equation and the reaction-diffusion equations perturbed by space-time white noise.
We prove the the large deviation principle(LDP) for the law of the one-dimensional semilinear stochastic partial differential equations driven by nonlinear multiplicative noise. Firstly, combining the energy estimate and approximation procedure, we obtain the existence of global solution. Then the large deviation principle is obtained via weak convergence method.
We study the existence of a unique solution to semilinear fractional backward doubly stochastic differential equation driven by a Brownian motion and a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst parameter less than 1/2. Here the stochastic integral with respect to the fractional Brownian motion is the extended divergence operator and the one with respect to Brownian motion is Itô's backward integral. For this we use the technique developed by R.Buckdahn to analyze stochastic differential equations on the Wiener space, which is based on the Girsanov theorem and the Malliavin calculus, and we reduce …
In this paper we treat semilinear stochastic partial differential equations by two methods. First, we extend the framework of [BDR10] from a Hilbert space to a Gelfand triple and as an application we prove the existence of solutions for the Fokker-Planck equations associated to semilinear equations with space-time white noise and both with polynomially growing nonlinearities and Burgers type nonlinearities at the same time. Second we adopt the approximation technique from [BDR10] to obtain existence of unique strong solutions to semilinear stochastic partial differential equations driven by sp…
We consider stochastic semilinear partial differential equations with Lipschitz nonlinear terms. We prove existence and uniqueness of an invariant measure and the existence of a solution for the corresponding Kolmogorov equation in the space $L^2(H;ν)$, where $ν$ is the invariant measure. We also prove the closability of the derivative operator and an integration by parts formula. Finally, under boundness conditions on the nonlinear term, we prove a Poincaré inequality, a logarithmic Sobolev inequality and the ipercontractivity of the transition semigroup.
We consider the generalized parabolic Anderson equation (gPAM) in 2 dimensions with periodic boundary. This is an example of a singular semilinear stochastic partial differential equations, solutions of which require renormalization and have only be understood recently via Hairer's regularity structures and, in some cases equivalently, paracontrollled distributions due to Gubinelli, Imkeller and Perkowski. In the present paper we describe the law of gPAM, by establishing a Stroock{Varadhan type support theorem in suitable Holder{Besov spaces.
In this article, we study a class of semilinear stochastic partial differential equations driven by an additive space time white noise. We establish Harnack inequalities for the semigroup associated with the solution by using coupling method, which implies the strong Feller property. Our results generalize the results of Zhang [Potential Analysis 33 (2010), no. 2, 137-151.] and can be applied to some types of SPDE such as reaction-diffusion equation and transport-diffusion equation perturbed by space time white noise.
Shift Harnack and integration by part formula are establish for semilinear spde with delay and a class of stochastic semilinear evolution equation which cover the hyperdissipative Naiver-Stokes/Burges equation. For the case of stochastic equation with delay, an extension to path space is given.
The purpose of this paper is to give an Osgood's criterion for solutions of semilinear stochastic differential equations of the form $X_{t}=ξ+\int_{0}^{t}b(s,X_{s})ds+\int_{0}^{t}σ(s)X_{s}dW_{s},\ t\geq 0$. Here, $b$ is a non-negative, non-decreasing by components and continuous random field and $σ$ is a predictable and continuous process. Also we present a generalization of the so-called Feller's test whenever $σ\equiv 1$.
Semilinear stochastic evolution equations with multiplicative Lévy noise and monotone nonlinear drift are considered. Unlike other similar work we do not impose coercivity conditions on coefficients. Existence and uniqueness of the mild solution is proved using an iterative method. The continuity of the solution with respect to initial conditions and coefficients is proved and a sufficient condition for exponential asymptotic stability of the solutions has been derived. The solutions are proved to have a Markov property. Examples on stochastic partial differential equations and stochastic dela…
In this paper we study some stability criteria for some semilinear integral equations with a function as initial condition and with additive noise, which is a Young integral that could be a functional of fractional Brownian motion. Namely, we consider stability in the mean, asymptotic stability, stability, global stability and Mittag-Leffler stability. To do so, we use comparison results for fractional equations and an equation (in terms of Mittag-Leffler functions) whose family of solutions includes those of the underlying equation.
In this paper we prove a central limit theorem and a moderate deviation principle for a class of semilinear stochastic partial differential equations, which contain Burgers' equation and the stochastic reaction-diffusion equation. The weak convergence method plays an important role.
We consider analytically weak solutions to semilinear stochastic partial differential equations with non-anticipating coefficients driven by cylindrical Brownian motion. The solutions are allowed to take values in general separable Banach spaces. We show that weak uniqueness is equivalent to weak joint uniqueness, and thereby generalize a theorem by A.S. Cherny to an infinite dimensional setting. Our proof for the technical key step is different from Cherny's and uses cylindrical martingale problems. As an application, we deduce a dual version of the Yamada-Watanabe theorem, i.e. we show that …
We prove the large deviation principle for the law of the solutions to a class of parabolic semilinear stochastic partial differential equations driven by multiplicative noise, in $C\big([0,T]:L^ρ(D)\big)$, where $D\subset {\mathbb R}^d$ with $d\geqslant 1$ is a bounded convex domain with smooth boundary and $ρ$ is any real, positive and large enough number. The equation has nonlinearities of polynomial growth of any order, the space variable is of any dimension, and the proof is based on the weak convergence method.
We prove a Miyadera-Voigt type perturbation theorem for strong Feller semigroups. Using this result, we prove well-posedness of the semilinear stochastic equation dX(t) = [AX(t) + F(X(t))]dt + GdW_H(t) on a separable Banach space E, assuming that F is bounded and measurable and that the associated linear equation, i.e. the equation with F = 0, is well-posed and its transition semigroup is strongly Feller and satisfies an appropriate gradient estimate. We also study existence and uniqueness of invariant measures for the associated transition semigroup.
In this paper, we introduce the concept of $S^{2}$-weighted pseudo almost automorphy for stochastic processes. We study the existence and uniqueness of square-mean weighted pseudo almost automorphic solutions for the semilinear stochastic integral equation $x(t)=\int_{-\infty}^{t}a(t-s)[Ax(s)+f(s,x(s))]ds+\int_{-\infty}^{t}a(t-s)φ(s,x(s))dw(s), \ t\in\mathbb{R}$, where $a\in L^{1}(\mathbb{R}_{+})$, $A$ is the generator of an integral resolvent family on a Hilbert space $H$, $w(t)$ is the two-sided $Q$-Wiener process, $f,φ: \mathbb{R}\times L^{2}(P,H)\rightarrow L^{2}(P,H)$ are two $S^{2}$-weig…
On nonlinear Feynman-Kac formulas for viscosity solutions of semilinear parabolic partial differential equations with gradient-dependent nonlinearities
The article is devoted to the application of multiple Fourier-Legendre series to implementation of strong exponential Milstein and Wagner-Platen methods for non-commutative semilinear stochastic partial differential equations with multiplicative trace class noise. These methods have strong orders of convergence $1.0-\varepsilon$ and $1.5-\varepsilon$ correspondingly (here $\varepsilon$ is an arbitrary small positive real number) with respect to the temporal discretization. The theorem on mean-square convergence of approximations of iterated stochastic integrals of multiplicities 1 to 3 with re…
We prove a modification to the classical maximal inequality for stochastic convolutions in 2-smooth Banach spaces using the factorization method. This permits to study semilinear stochastic partial differential equations with unbounded diffusion operators driven by cylindrical Brownian motion via the mild solution approach. In the case of finite dimensional driving noise, provided sufficient regularity on the coefficients, we establish existence and uniqueness of strong solutions.
We consider a class of semilinear Volterra type stochastic evolution equation driven by multiplicative Gaussian noise. The memory kernel, not necessarily analytic, is such that the deterministic linear equation exhibits a parabolic character. Under appropriate Lipschitz-type and linear growth assumptions on the nonlinear terms we show that the unique mild solution is mean-$p$ Hölder continuous with values in an appropriate Sobolev space depending on the kernel and the data. In particular, we obtain pathwise space-time (Sobolev-Hölder) regularity of the solution together with a maximal type bou…
We prove existence of weak solutions (in the probabilistic sense) for a general class of stochastic semilinear wave equations on bounded domains of $R^d$ driven by a possibly discontinuous square integrable martingale.
We introduce a probabilistic representation for solutions of quasilinear wave equation with analytic nonlinearities. We use stochastic cascades to prove existence and uniqueness of the solution.
The main objective of this work is to characterize the pathwise local structure of solutions of semilinear stochastic evolution equations (see's) and stochastic partial differential equations (spde's) near stationary solutions. Such characterization is realized through the long-term behavior of the solution field near stationary points. The analysis falls in two parts I, II. In Part I (this paper), we prove a general existence and compactness theorem for $C^k$-cocycles of semilinear see's and spde's. Our results cover a large class of semilinear see's as well as certain semilinear spde's with …
The goal of this paper is twofold. In the first part we will study Lévy white noise in different distributional spaces and solve equations of the type $p(D)s=q(D)\dot{L}$, where $p$ and $q$ are polynomials. Furthermore, we will study measurability of $s$ in Besov spaces. By using this result we will prove that stochastic partial differential equations of the form \begin{align*} p(D)u=g(\cdot,u)+\dot{L} \end{align*} have measurable solutions in weighted Besov spaces, where $p(D)$ is a partial differential operator in a certain class, $g:\mathbb{R}^d\times \mathbb{C}\to \mathbb{R}$ satisfies som…
We show that first order semilinear PDEs by stochastic perturbation are well-posedness for globally Holder continuous and bounded vector field, with an integrability condition on the divergence. This result extends the liner case presented in [2]. The proof is based on in the stochastic characteristics method and a version of the commuting Lemma.
We study function-valued solutions of a class of stochastic partial differential equations, involving operators with polynomially bounded coefficients. We consider semilinear equations under suitable parabolicity hypotheses. We provide conditions on the initial data and on the stochastic terms, namely, on the associated spectral measure, so that these mild solutions exist uniquely in suitably chosen functional classes.
We study the trajectorywise blowup behavior of a semilinear partial differential equation that is driven by a mixture of multiplicative Brownian and fractional Brownian motion, modeling different types of random perturbations. The linear operator is supposed to have an eigenfunction of constant sign, and we show its influence, as well as the influence of its eigenvalue and of the other parameters of the equation, on the occurrence of a blowup in finite time of the solution. We give estimates for the probability of finite time blowup and of blowup before a given fixed time. Essential tools are …
This paper presents existence and uniqueness results for reflected backward doubly stochastic differential equations (in short RBDDSEs) in a convex domain D. Moreover, using a stochastic flow approach a probabilistic interpretation for a class of reflected SPDE's in a domain is given via such RBDSDEs. The solution is expressed as a pair (u,ν) where u is a predictable continuous process which takes values in a Sobolev space and m is a random regular measure. The bounded variation process K, component of the solution of the reflected BDSDE, controls the set when u reaches the boundary of D. This…
We consider a class of singular perturbations to the stochastic heat equation or semilinear variations thereof. The interesting feature of these perturbations is that, as the small parameter epsilon tends to zero, their solutions converge to the 'wrong' limit, i.e. they do not converge to the solution obtained by simply setting epsilon = 0. A similar effect is also observed for some (formally) small stochastic perturbations of a deterministic semilinear parabolic PDE. Our proofs are based on a detailed analysis of the spatially rough component of the equations, combined with a judicious use of…
This paper investigates a numerical probabilistic method for the solution of some semilinear stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs in short). The numerical scheme is based on discrete time approximation for solutions of systems of decoupled forward-backward doubly stochastic differential equations. Under standard assumptions on the parameters, the convergence and the rate of convergence of the numerical scheme is proven. The proof is based on a generalization of the result on the path regularity of the backward equation.
This paper deals with the spatial and temporal regularity of the unique Hilbert space valued mild solution to a semilinear stochastic partial differential equation with nonlinear terms that satisfy global Lipschitz conditions. It is shown that the mild solution has the same optimal regularity properties as the stochastic convolution. The proof is elementary and makes use of existing results on the regularity of the solution, in particular, the Hölder continuity with a non-optimal exponent.
We prove that under natural assumptions on the data strong solutions in Sobolev spaces of semilinear parabolic equations in divergence form involving measure on the right-hand side may be represented by solutions of some generalized backward stochastic differential equations. As an application we provide stochastic representation of strong solutions of the obstacle problem be means of solutions of some reflected backward stochastic differential equations. To prove the latter result we use a stochastic homographic approximation for solutions of the reflected backward equation. The approximation…
In this paper we study a criterion for the viability of stochastic semilinear control systems on a real, separable Hilbert space. The necessary and sufficient conditions are given using the notion of stochastic quasi-tangency. As a consequence, we prove that approximate viability and the viability property coincide for stochastic linear control systems. We obtain Nagumo's stochastic theorem and we present a method allowing to provide explicit criteria for the viability of smooth sets. We analyze the conditions characterizing the viability of the unit ball. The paper generalizes recent results …
We introduce the local martingale problem associated to semilinear stochastic evolution equations driven by a cylindrical Wiener process and establish a one-to-one correspondence between solutions of the martingale problem and (analytically) weak solutions of the stochastic equation. We also prove that the solutions of well-posed equations are strong Markov processes. We apply our results to semilinear stochastic equations with additive noise where the semilinear term is merely measurable and to stochastic reaction-diffusion equations with Hölder continuous multiplicative noise.
We establish well-posedness in the mild sense for a class of stochastic semilinear evolution equations on $L_p$ spaces, driven by multiplicative Wiener noise, with a drift term given by an evaluation operator that is assumed to be quasi-monotone and polynomially growing, but not necessarily continuous. In particular, we consider a notion of mild solution ensuring that the evaluation operator applied to the solution is still function-valued, but satisfies only minimal integrability conditions. The proofs rely on stochastic calculus in Banach spaces, monotonicity and convexity techniques, and we…
It is known that Markovian forward-backward stochastic differential equations provide nonlinear Feynman-Kac representation formulae for semilinear parabolic PDEs. We show that non-Markovian forward-backward stochastic differential equations provide nonlinear Feynman-Kac formulae for semilinear path-dependent PDEs. This extends the result proved in Ekren, Keller, Touzi, and Zhang [4] to the case with a possibly degenerate diffusion coefficient in the forward dynamics.
We prove that the mild solution to a semilinear stochastic evolution equation on a Hilbert space, driven by either a square integrable martingale or a Poisson random measure, is (jointly) continuous, in a suitable topology, with respect to the initial datum and all coefficients. In particular, if the leading linear operators are maximal (quasi-)monotone and converge in the strong resolvent sense, the drift and diffusion coefficients are uniformly Lipschitz continuous and converge pointwise, and the initial data converge, then the solutions converge.
An averaging result is proved for stochastic evolution equations with highly oscillating coefficients. This result applies in particular to equations with almost periodic coefficients. The convergence to the solution of the averaged equation is obtained in distribution, as in previous works by Khasminskii and Vrko{\v c}.This version corrects two minor errors from our paper published in J. Math. Anal. Appl. 427(1):336--364, 2015.
We demonstrate the large deviation property for the mild solutions of stochastic evolution equations with monotone nonlinearity and multiplica- tive noise. This is achieved using the recently developed weak convergence method, in studying the large deviation principle. An It^o-type inequality is a main tool in the proofs. We also give two examples to illustrate the applications of the theorems.
Functional Itô calculus was introduced in order to expand a functional $F(t, X\_{\cdot+t}, X\_t)$ depending on time $t$, past and present values of the process $X$. Another possibility to expand $F(t, X\_{\cdot+t}, X\_t)$ consists in considering the path $X\_{\cdot+t}=\{X\_{x+t},\,x\in[-T,0]\}$ as an element of the Banach space of continuous functions on $C([-T,0])$ and to use Banach space stochastic calculus. The aim of this paper is threefold. 1) To reformulate functional Itô calculus, separating time and past, making use of the regularization procedures which matches more naturally the noti…
We prove that semilinear stochastic abstract wave equations, including wave and plate equations, are well-posed in the strong sense with an $α$-Hölder continuous drift coefficient, if $α\in (2/3,1)$. The uniqueness may fail for the corresponding deterministic PDE and well-posedness is restored by adding an external random forcing of white noise type. This shows a kind of regularization by noise for the semilinear wave equation. To prove the result we introduce an approach based on backward stochastic differential equations, differentiability along subspaces and control theoretic results. We st…
This article is a sequel to [M.Z.Z.1] aimed at completing the characterization of the pathwise local structure of solutions of semilinear stochastic evolution equations (see's) and stochastic partial differential equations (spde's) near stationary solutions. Stationary solution are viewed as random points in the infinite-dimensional state space, and the characterization is expressed in terms of the almost sure long-time behavior of trajectories of the equation in relation to the stationary solution. More specifically, we establish local stable manifold theorems for semilinear see's and spde's …
Explicit stabilized integrators are an efficient alternative to implicit or semi-implicit methods to avoid the severe timestep restriction faced by standard explicit integrators applied to stiff diffusion problems. In this paper, we provide a fully discrete strong convergence analysis of a family of explicit stabilized methods coupled with finite element methods for a class of parabolic semilinear deterministic and stochastic partial differential equations. Numerical experiments including the semilinear stochastic heat equation with space-time white noise confirm the theoretical findings.
We consider a class of semilinear stochastic evolution equations driven by an additive cylindrical stable noise. We investigate structural properties of the solutions like Markov, irreducibility, stochastic continuity, Feller and strong Feller properties, and study integrability of trajectories. The obtained results can be applied to semilinear stochastic heat equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions and bounded and Lipschitz nonlinearities.
Motivated by the work of T.E. Govindan in [5,8,9], this paper is concerned with a more general semilinear stochastic evolution equation. The difference between the equations considered in this paper and the previous one is that it makes some changes to the nonlinear function in random integral, which also depends on the probability distribution of stochastic process at that time. First, this paper considers the existence and uniqueness of mild solutions for such equations. Furthermore, Trotter-Kato approximation system is introduced for the mild solutions, and the weak convergence of induced p…
This paper studies the convergence of three temporal semi-discretizations for a backward semilinear stochastic evolution equation. For general terminal value and general coefficient with Lipschitz continuity, the convergence of the first two temporal semi-discretizations is established, and an explicit convergence rate is derived for the third temporal semi-discretization. The third temporal semi-discretization is applied to a general stochastic linear quadratic control problem, and the convergence of a temporally semi-discrete approximation to the optimal control is established.
We study the Cauchy problem for Schrödinger type stochastic partial differential equations with uniformly bounded coefficients on a curved space. We give conditions on the coefficients, on the drift and diffusion terms, on the Cauchy data, and on the spectral measure associated with the noise, such that the Cauchy problem admits a unique function-valued mild solution in the sense of Da Prato and Zabczyc.
