We investigate monotone operator functions of several variables under a trace or a trace-like functional. In particular, we prove the inequality τ(x_1... x_n)\leτ(y_1... y_n) for a trace τon a C^*-algebra and abelian n-tuples (x_1,...,x_n)\le (y_1,...,y_n) of positive elements. We formulate and prove Jensen's inequality for expectation values, and we study matrix functions of several variables which are convex or monotone with respect to the weak majorization for matrices.

Free monotone transport without a trace

We adapt the free monotone transport results of Guionnet and Shlyakhtenko to the type $\text{III}$ case. As a direct application, we obtain that the $q$-deformed Araki-Woods algebras are isomorphic (for sufficiently small $|q|$).

Operator monotone functions of several variables

We propose a notion of operator monotonicity for functions of several variables, which extends the well known notion of operator monotonicity for functions of only one variable. The notion is chosen such that a fundamental relationship between operator convexity and operator monotonicity for functions of one variable is extended also to functions of several variables.

Pietsch correspondence for symmetric functionals on Calkin operator spaces associated with semifinite von Neumann algebras

In this paper we extend the Pietsch correspondence for ideals of compact operators and traces on them to the semifinite setting. We prove that a shift-monotone space $E(\Z)$ of sequences indexed by $\Z$ defines a Calkin space $E(\cM,τ)$ of $τ$-measurable operators affiliated with a semifinite von Neumann algebra $\cM$ equipped with a faithful normal semifinite trace $τ$. Furthermore, we show that shift-invariant functionals on $E(\Z)$ generate symmetric functionals on $E(\cM,τ)$. On operator-valued monotone independence

We investigate operator-valued monotone independence, a noncommutative version of independence for conditional expectation. First we introduce operator-valued monotone cumulants to clarify the whole theory and show the moment-cumulant formula. As an application, one can obtain an easy proof of Central Limit Theorem for operator-valued case. Moreover, we prove a generalization of Muraki's formula for the sum of independent random variables and a relation between generating functions of moments and cumulants.

Quantitative Estimates for Operator-Valued and Infinitesimal Boolean and Monotone Limit Theorems

We provide Berry-Esseen bounds for sums of operator-valued Boolean and monotone independent variables, in terms of the first moments of the summands. Our bounds are on the level of Cauchy transforms as well as the Lévy distance. As applications, we obtain quantitative bounds for the corresponding CLTs, provide a quantitative "fourth moment theorem" for monotone independent random variables including the operator-valued case, and generalize the results by Hao and Popa on matrices with Boolean entries. Free monotone transport for infinite variables

We extend the free monotone transport theorem of Guionnet and Shlyakhtenko to the case of infinite variables. As a first application, we provide a criterion for when mixed $q$-Gaussian algebras are isomorphic to $L(\mathbb{F}_\infty)$; namely, when the structure array $Q$ of a mixed $q$-Gaussian algebra has uniformly small entries that decay sufficiently rapidly. Two trace inequalities for operator functions

In this paper we show that for a non-negative operator monotone function $f$ on $[0, \infty)$ such that $f(0)= 0$ and for any positive semidefinite matrices $A$ and $B$, $$ Tr((A-B)(f(A)-f(B))) \le Tr(|A-B|f(|A-B|)). $$ When the function $f$ is operator convex on $[0, \infty)$, the inequality is reversed.

Trace functions as Laplace transforms

We study trace functions on the form $ t\to\tr f(A+tB) $ where $ f $ is a real function defined on the positive half-line, and $ A $ and $ B $ are matrices such that $ A $ is positive definite and $ B $ is positive semi-definite. If $ f $ is non-negative and operator monotone decreasing, then such a trace function can be written as the Laplace transform of a positive measure. Monotone Riemannian Metrics and Relative Entropy on Non-Commutative Probability Spaces

We use the relative modular operator to define a generalized relative entropy for any convex operator function g on the positive real line satisfying g(1) = 0. Trace-distance measure of coherence

We show that trace distance measure of coherence is a strong monotone for all qubit and, so called, $X$ states. An expression for the trace distance coherence for all pure states and a semi definite program for arbitrary states is provided. We also explore the relation between $l_1$-norm and relative entropy based measures of coherence, and give a sharp inequality connecting the two. In addition, it is shown that both $l_p$-norm- and Schatten-$p$-norm-based measures violate the (strong) monotonicity for all $p\in(1,\infty)$.
