L-infinity algebras, Cartan homotopies and period maps

We prove that, for every compact Kaehler manifold, the period map of its Kuranishi family is induced by a natural L-infinity morphism. This implies, by standard facts about L-infinity algebras, that the period map is a "morphism of deformation theories" and then commutes with all deformation theoretic constructions (e.g. obstructions).

Maurer-Cartan spaces of filtered L-infinity algebras

We study several homotopical and geometric properties of Maurer-Cartan spaces for L-infinity algebras which are not nilpotent, but only filtered in a suitable way. Such algebras play a key role especially in the deformation theory of algebraic structures. In particular, we prove that the Maurer-Cartan simplicial set preserves fibrations and quasi-isomorphisms. Then we present an algebraic geometry viewpoint on Maurer-Cartan moduli sets, and we compute the tangent complex of the associated algebraic stack.

Maurer-Cartan moduli and models for function spaces

We set up a formalism of Maurer-Cartan moduli sets for L-infinity algebras and associated twistings based on the closed model category structure on formal differential graded algebras (a.k.a. differential graded coalgebras). Among other things this formalism allows us to give a compact and manifestly homotopy invariant treatment of Chevalley-Eilenberg and Harrison cohomology. We apply the developed technology to construct rational homotopy models for function spaces.

A period map for generalized deformations

For every compact Kaehler manifold we give a canonical extension of Griffith's period map to generalized deformations, intended as solutions of Maurer-Cartan equation in the algebra of polyvector fields. Our construction involves the notion of Cartan homotopy and a canonical L-infinity structure on mapping cones of morphisms of differential graded Lie algebras.

L-infinity maps and twistings

We give a construction of an L-infinity map from any L-infinity algebra into its truncated Chevalley-Eilenberg complex as well as its cyclic and A-infinity analogues. This map fits with the inclusion into the full Chevalley-Eilenberg complex (or its respective analogues) to form a homotopy fiber sequence of L-infinity-algebras. Application to deformation theory and graph homology are given. We employ the machinery of Maurer-Cartan functors in L-infinity and A-infinity algebras and associated twistings which should be of independent interest.

A short note on infinity-groupoids and the period map for projective manifolds

A common criticism of infinity-categories in algebraic geometry is that they are an extremely technical subject, so abstract to be useless in everyday mathematics. The aim of this note is to show in a classical example that quite the converse is true: even a naive intuition of what an infinity-groupoid should be clarifies several aspects of the infinitesimal behaviour of the periods map of a projective manifold. Homotopy L-infinity spaces and Kuranishi manifolds, I: categorical structures

Motivated by the definition of homotopy $L_\infty$ spaces, we develop a new theory of Kuranishi manifolds, closely related to Joyce's recent theory. We prove that Kuranishi manifolds form a $2$-category with invertible $2$-morphisms, and that certain fiber product property holds in this $2$-category. In a subsequent paper, we construct the virtual fundamental cycle of a compact oriented Kuranishi manifold, and prove some of its basic properties. Equivariant A-infinity algebras for nonorientable Lagrangians

We set up an algebraic framework for the study of pseudoholomorphic discs bounding nonorientable Lagrangians, as well as equivariant extensions of such structures arising from a torus action.
