We study quadratic Lie algebras over a field K of null characteristic which admit, at the same time, a symplectic structure. We see that if K is algebraically closed every such Lie algebra may be constructed as the T*-extension of a nilpotent algebra admitting an invertiblederivation and also as the double extension of another quadratic symplectic Lie algebra by the one-dimensional Lie algebra. Finally, we prove that every symplectic quadratic Lie algebra is a special symplectic Manin algebra and we give an inductive classification in terms of symplectic quadratic double extensions.
In this work we study the problem of existence of symplectic structures on free nilpotent Lie algebras. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for even dimensional ones. The one dimensional central extension for odd dimensional free nilpotent Lie algebras is also considered.
In this work we introduce an obstruction for the existence of symplectic structures on nilpotent Lie algebras. Indeed, a necessary condition is presented in terms of the cohomology of the Lie algebra. Using this obstruction we obtain both positive and negative results on the existence of symplectic structures on a large family of nilpotent Lie algebras. Namely the family of nilradicals of minimal parabolic subalgebras associated to the real split Lie algebra of classical complex simple Lie algebras.
We study left invariant contact forms and left invariant symplectic forms on Lie groups. We give the classification of all symplectic structures on nilpotent Lie algebras up the dimension 6.
We generalize to the case of Lie superalgebras the classical symplectic double extension of symplectic Lie algebras introduced in [2]. We use this concept to give an inductive description of nilpotent homogeneous-symplectic Lie superalgebras. Several examples are included to show the existence of homogeneous quadratic symplectic Lie superalgebras other than even-quadratic even-symplectic considered in [6]. We study the structures of even (resp. odd)-quadratic odd (resp. even)-symplectic Lie superalgebras and odd-quadratic odd-symplectic Lie superalgebras and we give its inductive descriptions …
We study symplectic (contact) structures on nilmanifolds that correspond to the filiform Lie algebras - nilpotent Lie algebras of the maximal length of the descending central sequence. We give a complete classification of filiform Lie algebras that possess a basis e_1, ..., e_n, [e_i,e_j]=c_{ij}e_{i{+}j} (N-graded Lie algebras). In particular we describe the spaces of symplectic cohomology classes for all even-dimensional algebras of the list. It is proved that a symplectic filiform Lie algebra is a filtered deformation of some N-graded symplectic filiform Lie algebra. But this condition is no…
In this paper we study symplectic involutions and quadratic pairs that become hyperbolic over the function field of a conic. In particular, we classify them in degree 4 and deduce results on 5 dimensional minimal quadratic forms, thus extending to arbitrary fields some results of [24], which were only known in characteristic different from 2.
Our purpose in this paper is the generalization of the notions of quadratic and symplectic structures to the case of 3-(Hom)-$ρ$-Lie algebras. We describe some properties of them by expressing the related lemmas and theorems. Also, we introduce the concept of 3-pre-(Hom)-$ρ$-Lie algebras and define their representation.
We present a set of generators for the symplectic group which is different from the well-known set of transvections, from which the chain equivalence for quadratic forms in characteristic 2 is an immediate result. Based on the chain equivalences for quadratic forms, both in characteristic 2 and not 2, we provide chain equivalences for tensor products of quaternion algebras over fields with no nontrivial 3-fold Pfister forms. The chain equivalence for biquaternion algebras in characteristic 2 is also obtained in this process, without any assumption on the base-field.
A nonzero element $x$ in a Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ with Lie product $[ , ]$ is called extremal if $[x,[x,y]]$ is a multiple of $x$ for all $y$. In this paper we characterize the (finitary) symplectic Lie algebras as simple Lie algebras generated by their extremal elements satisying the condition that any two noncommuting extremal elements $x,y$ generate an $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ and any third extremal element $z$ commutes with at least one extremal element in this $\mathfrak{sl}_2$.
Let $\mathfrak{sp}_{2n}(\mathbb {K})$ be the symplectic Lie algebra over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. We prove that for any nonzero nilpotent element $X \in \mathfrak{sp}_{2n}(\mathbb {K})$ there exists a nilpotent element $Y \in \mathfrak{sp}_{2n}(\mathbb {K})$ such that $X$ and $Y$ generate $\mathfrak{sp}_{2n}(\mathbb {K})$.
We study symplectic structures on characteristically nilpotent Lie algebras (CNLAs) by computing the cohomology space $H^2(\Lg,k)$ for certain Lie algebras $\Lg$. Among these Lie algebras are filiform CNLAs of dimension $n\le 14$. It turns out that there are many examples of CNLAs which admit a symplectic structure. A generalization of a sympletic structure is an affine structure on a Lie algebra.
We study symplectic structures on filiform Lie algebras -- nilpotent Lie algebras of the maximal length of the descending central sequence. In the present article we classify the Lie algebras with the structure relations of the following form: $$[e_i,e_j]=(j-i)e_{i+j}+\sum_{l{=}1}c_{ij}^l e_{i+j+l}, i+j \le n.$$ In even dimensions the subspace of symplectic Lie algebras has the codimension one.
We classify centerless Lie G-tori of type C_r including the most difficult case r=2 by applying techniques due to Seligman. In particular, we show that the coordinate algebra of a Lie G-torus of type C_2 is either an associative G-torus with involution or a Clifford G-torus. Our results generalize the classification of the core of the extended affine Lie algebras of type C_r by Allison and Gao.
The semisimple subalgebras of the rank $2$ symplectic Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sp}(4,\mathbb{C})$ are well-known, and we recently classified its Levi decomposable subalgebras. In this article, we classify the solvable subalgebras of $\mathfrak{sp}(4,\mathbb{C})$, up to inner automorphism. This completes the classification of the subalgebras of $\mathfrak{sp}(4,\mathbb{C})$. More broadly speaking, in completing the classification of the subalgebras of $\mathfrak{sp}(4,\mathbb{C})$ we have completed the classification of the subalgebras of the rank $2$ semisimple Lie algebras.
In this paper, first we introduce the notion of a quadratic Lie-Yamaguti algebra and show that the invariant bilinear form in a quadratic Lie-Yamaguti algebra induces an isomorphism between the adjoint representation and the coadjoint representation. Then we introduce the notions of relative Rota-Baxter operators on Lie-Yamaguti algebras and pre-Lie-Yamaguti algebras. We prove that a pre-Lie-Yamaguti algebra gives rise to a Lie-Yamaguti algebra naturally and a relative Rota-Baxter operator induces a pre-Lie-Yamaguti algebra. Finally we study symplectic structures on Lie-Yamaguti algebra, which…
We study symplectic structures on nilpotent Lie algebras. Since the classification of nilpotent Lie algebras in any dimension seems to be a crazy dream, we approach this study in case of 2-step nilpotent Lie algebras (in this sub-case also, the classification fo the dimension greater than 8 seems very difficult), using not a classification but a description of subfamilies associated with the characteristic sequence. We begin with the dimension $8$, first step where the classification becomes difficult.
In this paper, first we introduce the notion of a phase space of a 3-Lie algebra and show that a 3-Lie algebra has a phase space if and only if it is sub-adjacent to a 3-pre-Lie algebra. Then we introduce the notion of a product structure on a 3-Lie algebra using the Nijenhuis condition as the integrability condition. A 3-Lie algebra enjoys a product structure if and only if it is the direct sum (as vector spaces) of two subalgebras. We find that there are four types special integrability conditions, and each of them gives rise to a special decomposition of the original 3-Lie algebra. They are…
The rank $n$ symplectic oscillator Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_n$ is the semidirect product of the symplectic Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sp}_{2n}$ and the Heisenberg Lie algebra $H_n$. In this paper, we study weight modules with finite dimensional weight spaces over $\mathfrak{g}_n$. When $\dot z\neq 0$, it is shown that there is an equivalence between the full subcategory $\mathcal{O}_{\mathfrak{g}_n}[\dot z]$ of the BGG category $\mathcal{O}_{\mathfrak{g}_n}$ for $\mathfrak{g}_n$ and the BGG category $\mathcal{O}_{\mathfrak{sp}_{2n}}$ for $\mathfrak{sp}_{2n}$. Then using the technique of localizat…
